Our Dance Studio

We had discussed doing a choreographed first dance throughout the time of our engagement, and decided to seek out a dance teacher around 3 months prior to our wedding. We found Louis on the knot and are so glad we decided to work with him! We were so nervous for our first session, but he was so kind and immediately had a picture of what to do for our dance! We had dance lessons every week up to our wedding, and can honestly say our dance was one of the things we were most excited for with our big day! Louis was able to explain the dance moves with ease, especially for two people without any dance experience. He made adjustments where needed but still pushed us outside of our comfort zone with dancing. We also just had so much fun during our dance lessons! We laughed so much and felt it was time we could spend on ourselves throughout the craziness of wedding planning. Louis became more than a teacher…he was a great friend! We even would show up some weeks tired and over the wedding process, and he was constantly cheering us on! Our guests LOVED our first dance! We received so many compliments. I even forgot one part of the dance and our guests couldn’t even tell! We definitely recommend working with Louis for your first dance!

11/10 Louis was amazing to work with! We went in for the free 45 minute lesson and we were hooked! He has a phenomenal personality for teaching; every lesson was so fun and very beginner friendly. I thought he would just teach us some basic moves that we would repeat on and off. Instead, he choreographed us a personal dance that fit our cut of music for a one of a kind routine! Our guests said they felt like they were watching dancing with the stars! We went from two people unsure of how to even hold arms properly to two confident ballroom dancers by the wedding night. Thank you Louis!!

I will preface this by saying, I am not, nor ever have been a dancer. I was hesitant to do a choreographed "first dance". After a free lesson, my now wife was hooked, and we started the process. Louis was friendly, funny, and did a magnificent job keeping us on track. We did 10 lessons, and over that time he managed to teach this old dog a new trick. Louis was also great at working around our busy schedule to help us get prepared. Was our first dance perfect? No...but it was still so much better than anyone would have ever expected, and as Louis so often pointed out, no one will know we made a mistake...except us! If you are looking for a local dance instructor to help you put together a "first dance" in the Lansing area. This is the place to go. Hands down, I don't think we could have had a better experience.
