Out of the Ordinary Photography

new we were in incredibly capable and warm hands. Our wedding was upstate in Jefferson, New York in October 2024 and was exactly what we imagined (read meticulously planned). A huge part of that was captured flawlessly by these two talented photographers. Holly and Jim's ability to blend seamlessly into the background while still managing to capture every precious moment is astounding. They paired their prior experiences at our venue with an uncanny knack for anticipating those fleeting, beautiful instances – a loving glance, close ups on our meaningful mementos, the joy radiating from our guests. They didn't just take pictures; they told the story of how our day came together from both sides of the aisle. The photos themselves are breathtaking. The lighting, the composition, even the curation of selects afterwards – everything was absolutely professional. They managed to encapsulate the rustic charm of the venue, the vibrance of autumn in the Catskills, while also highlighting the intimate and personal moments that made our wedding so uniquely ours. From lakeside portraits in the afternoon sun, to raucous groups on the dance floor, to fireworks later that night — they had it covered from the perfect angle without ever being in the way. Beyond their technical expertise, Holly and Jim are simply wonderful people. They are kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about their craft. They were accommodating with our budget, and frankly, generous with helping us make the most of it. Holly is sharp and reassuring, she was particularly proactive with recommending local resources like a videographer. Jim is calm and easygoing, even offering to ride along with the groomsmen from the AirBnB to the venue. If you're looking for wedding photographers who will not only deliver stunning images but also keep your day from feeling as crazy as it certainly is, look no further than Out of the Ordinary. They really are, well, it’s right there in the name. We are forever grateful for the beautiful memories they have given us. We couldn't recommend them highly enough!

our engagement shoot too which was our first chance to meet them because we live out of state and we chose them based on their work on their page. They are such wonderful people to work with and easy to get along with. They responded to us in a timely manner and had answers for all our questions. We knew right away when we met them that we made the right decision! HIGHLY recommend!

ays quick to respond leading up to the wedding and were easy to work with. Thank you both!

love what they do as they had smiles on their faces the entire time and seemed to have fun with it! I will definitely be hiring Out Of the Ordinary Photography for any of my future photography needs.

stop looking at the album they created and they made it so fast! I would 100% recommend them to everyone.

great team. You won’t regret it!

was missed. We had a list of pictures that were important to us and they met every single need, all while being great to work with. I would recommend Out of The Ordinary to anyone!!!! We absolutely love our wedding pictures and I can’t say enough great things about them!!!!!!!!!!!!

efore the rain came, they captured intimate moments between my mom and I and my bridesmaids as we got ready, my husband and the boys, and absolutely gorgeous photos of my husband and I with a mountain backdrop. They can do it all, and all the while you will feel comfortable. Holly and Jim are a husband and wife team, they work together seamlessly, and everyone, especially Bryon and I, enjoyed working with them:) Thank You Holly and Jim!!

re all perfect. Holly and Jim were wonderful to work with! They had curve balls thrown at them all day and nothing threw them off! Our friends came to surprise my husband while he was getting ready and they captured it beautifully! We recommend them 100%

e little moments she and her husband captured while we were busy chatting with our guests. There isn’t anyone I would trust or recommend more than her to photography a special event.

r family photos I let Holly know what I was envisioning and she was able to recommend a great location for the most perfect shots. With a 1 year old in tow who didn’t want to sit still they were extremely patient through meltdowns. We look forward to working with them in the future and guarantee you will too!

reviously shot my sister's high school senior pictures and left a great impression on our family. We didn't get the snow we were hoping for but Holly and Jim happily braved the cold winter evening to snap some stunning outdoor shots for us. They are professional, helpful, and just fun to work with. So much so that Out of the Ordinary is already booked for my sister's wedding!

ve more then 5 stars

Amazing people and photographers!!!

ding are beautiful and they knew where to be to capture the important moments without having to be micromanaged. We couldn’t be happier!

others. I KNOW beautiful photos and must say Holly provided us with just that. She followed to the tee what the bride & groom requested. Holly was not in everyones faces and making guests feel pictures were more important than they were. The posed pictures were wonderful and caught the love and excitement of the bride & groom. They did not seem to be posed but natural. Our candid photos captured the wedding and every detail of it. I highly recommend Out of the Ordinary Photography for your wedding. Should you be interested in speaking with me in person Holly knows that she can give out my number!!

istic, woodsy, fairytale-like photos of our Adirondack wedding, and couldn't be more ecstatic with the finished product. We had a few phone conversations in advance, and met face to face once, to go over specifics and the timeline as well as our vision for the types of photos we wanted. The professionalism, guidance, and attention to detail throughout that process was very much appreciated! And then on the big day, Holly and Jim were fantastic. They were punctual, clearly worked together like a well-oiled machine, and got every shot we asked for. They also suggested some shots to us, which was welcomed because they're shots I'm so glad we got, but may not have otherwise thought of! They kept us on time as well; we requested some sunset and night shots, and had they not reminded us what time it was, we would've missed those opportunities! We got a preview gallery of several dozen shots a week or so after the wedding, and now, about 7 weeks later, we have a full gallery of over 1,000 gorgeous shots to keep forever. They captured moments I either didn't know happened, didn't remember happened, or wasn't there for that I'll treasure! If you're looking for a photography team withe true artistic talent, and a passionate team that really wants to meet your needs, they'll be perfect for you just like they were for us :)

ompletely professional at the same time. Prior to the wedding we scheduled two meetings, each time they arrived early and stayed late with us. They had great recommendations for where to have our photos taken and were open to any suggestions we had for the duration the day. Not once throughout the the engagement or wedding photos did they seem rushed, pushy or overbearing with corralling our fairly large wedding party and family, they were patient and organized. Their cool demeanor helped set the tone for us throughout the rest of the day. This was important to us, especially on our wedding day we wanted a organized operation to ensure no additional stress was added to the already extraordinarily busy and potentially stressful day. Thanks to their experience at our venue and having pre-existing relationships with our other vendors (Floral, DJ, Wedding Attendant, etc) the day went as smooth as could be. The photos themselves were phenomenal, we've received countless compliments from friends and family who have flipped through our albums. A reoccurring word used to describe our photos has been “stunning”. If you're looking for a great professional couple to capture your event give them a shot. You will not be disappointed!

our pictures taken. We can't thank them enough!

on and lots of wonderful candids They were everywhere and caught so many special moments, yet it was almost as though they were invisible! They were unobtrusive and professional and the quality of the photography is outstanding! If you can arrange to hire them, grab the opportunity! I can't speak highly enough!

y made us feel relaxed and kept the bridal party in line. They took all the photos I asked for & more! We even snuck out to the gazebo and got the perfect shot for the "sparkler" photo and it was AMAZING and everything I hoped for. I would recommend OOTO photography to anyone planning their wedding. They captured photos of our family farm and pay attention to the small details, making our photos wonderful and something I will always cherish. I can't thank them enough!!!

r candids. They were super flexible and gave really easy/kind direction to a group of fairly rowdy people that could probably be described as frustrating to work with. I was really impressed with their work and would highly recommend them to anyone!

new we hit the jackpot. Jim and Holly are extremely easy to work with and are tuned in to what you’re looking for them to capture on your special day. I can’t help but smile every time I look at the pictures they took. You are missing out if you don’t choose this dynamic duo. Thanks again, Jim and Holly!

e and we started with pictures at the Marriott in Village. They were so accommodating of our schedule with pictures at the two locations and even helped us take a few shots by the lake before heading to the Burlap and Beams. They were especially patient with us as we gathered the large groups that we wanted to make sure we had pictures with (e.g., extended family, high school, college). Our wedding was recent so we haven’t seen all of photos yet, but we were beyond thrilled with the previews that Holly and Jim shared with us so far!

Jim were so easy to work with, everything went smoothly and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They captured beautiful pictures of my wedding day and paid very close attention to detail of the floral arrangements, rings, etc etc. I could not be happier with how everything turned out. They're truly the best!

you did. Holly and Jim and extremely talented, professional, personable, and affordable. They make you feel comfortable and at ease and know how to truly capture the moment. They are quick to respond to any questions and very knowledgeable . Holly works so quickly, within a few days of my wedding she sent me some sneak peaks and had all my photos done within a month! We are beyond pleased with Out of the Ordinary!!
