My passion and work as a floral designer began many years ago on the rugged shores of Block Island, off the coast of Rhode Island. I was always inspired by the coastal landscape and the tranquil rhythm of island life. I have since made a new home in the Flathead Valley of Montana. Leaving my small, close knit community of the island and embracing these majestic mountains and lush greenery, making it the most perfect place for my florist artistry, adventure, and the timeless beauty of transformation! Painted Rock Flowers strives to create the most perfect floral backdrop for your most special days. Why I chose, and kept the name, Painted Rock Flowers… On Block Island, there is a unique tradition, people, painting, messages, murals, and sentiments on a special rock. This, “Painted Rock” symbolized a beautiful harmony between art and nature inspiring me deeply. The idea that creativity could flourish naturally, integrated into the landscape resonated with me, and led me to embrace the name Painted Rock Flowers as a reflection of this union. Years later, life‘s path led me to the breathtaking landscapes of Northwest Montana here I found myself drawn to a historic site on Flathead Lake, the Painted Rocks on the western shores of Flathead Lake, only accessible from the water. Native Americans once created vivid images on the rocks, telling stories and preserving their culture through art etched into the nature itself. This transition from the coastal island to the rugged and pristine wilderness of Montana continues my heartfelt connection to art’s power to bridge communities, preserve history and celebrate our natural world. In the Flathead Valley, I see an extension of the original inspiration from Block Island, the seamless blend of human expression and the majestic beauty of nature. It’s a place where art, once again becomes a dialogue with the landscape and I’m honored to be a part of this ongoing story.
