As soon as our daughter and fiancé entered the historic house they knew immediately this is where they wanted to get married. The venue is stunning, overlooking the Manatee River with beautiful grounds. The hosts Wim and Mieke are incredibly kind, understanding and patient and always responsive with helpful advice throughout the planning period. The wedding day itself ran like clockwork partly due to the enormous help they both provided. None of us could have imagined a more perfect place and we are all extremely grateful to Wim and Mieke for making the wedding so special.

My husband and I got married at Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast a few weeks ago and we cannot recommend them highly enough as both a wedding venue and a caterer. We were looking for a venue to host our small 20 person wedding and found the B&B online and fell in love with the beautiful pictures. We decided to visit in person and THANK GOD WE DID! The venue is even more beautiful and picturesque in person. However, the real reason to choose this venue is to work with the owners, Mieke and Wim. From the very first moment we met with them, it was clear that this would be the place where we would get married. Mieke and Wim were so kind, organized, and flexible. They helped us plan through the logistics of our day and were always more than willing to work with us to make sure the day went how we envisioned it. They are wonderful to work with and tremendous hosts! Since we had a small wedding, we were also given the option to use Palmetto Riverside B&B as our caterer too. If you have this option, DO IT!!! This was the best meal of our lives. The service was absolutely top notch and the steak course was the best plate of food we’ve ever had. Mieke and Wim worked with us to personally plan the menu to ensure that we were getting food we liked and it met everyone’s dietary restrictions (and we had a lot). I wish that I could give Palmetto Riverside B&B more than 5 stars because 5/5 just doesn’t feel like enough. As we left the venue the morning after our wedding, we barely made it a mile before we were talking about planning to return for our one year anniversary! We can’t wait to go back!

I cannot say enough glowing things about Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast. The venue is beyond beautiful and the owners, Mieke and Wim, could not be more gracious and accommodating. They offered several packages, all of which were generous and reasonable. They were easy to communicate with, always responded quickly, and even though it was during the time of COVID, they were flexible and easy to work with. I cannot say enough for the beauty and cleanliness of the venue (just look online at the pictures!). Our family was able to spend the night before the wedding at the B&B. We enjoyed time together as Wim had a spread of beverages after arriving home from dinner. The next morning, Wim and Mieke served us a delicious and beautiful brunch before the activities began. During the day, Wim delivered mimosas to all the ladies and made sure that every need was met. Our guests were overwhelmed by the beauty of his property and the set up of the wedding and the reception. It was so wonderful that the entire event could be done there at Palmetto. My parents were blown away at the value and service that they got for their money. All the guests are ready to go back and spend more days there. We cannot say enough amount about how happy we were with our experience at Palmetto B&B. We intend to return soon. Please message me for a reference and referral. We couldn't have chosen a more magical venue for our special day! We felt like we had fallen into the pages of a romantic fairytale with Wim and Meike, our fairy godparents. They welcomed our family and friends with open arms and meaningful conversation, as if they were part of the family. Their attention to detail, organization, and thoughtful sharing of their extensive wedding expertise was much appreciated. Their professionalism and passion for what they do was apparent from the very beginning. If you have the opportunity to stay and enjoy the magnificent breakfast, exquisite views, five star accommodations, and exceptional service, then do it! My husband and I got married at the B&B on Feb 29, 2020 and it was perfect! Wim & Mieke were amazing. Their attention to detail from the moment we arrived on Fri to the moment we left on Sunday was above and beyond. They made our wedding weekend so memorable we couldn't have been any happier. My husband and I got married at the Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast on October 19, 2019. Believe me when I say Wim and Mieke are the most kind, genuine and accommodating people we've ever met. Their attention to every little detail is impeccable and they go out of their way to make your wedding day perfect. Even though they host many weddings every year, they make you feel like you are the only one during each and every interaction. The venue is breathtakingly beautiful, allowing its charm alone to speak for itself. I fell in love with the beautiful oak tree overlooking the Manatee River and the quaint environment of the B&B. I highly recommend staying at the B&B the night before and/or the night of the wedding. We chose to stay the night of our wedding. The next morning we had their European style breakfast and it was outstanding! Unfortunately, we had a tropical storm headed our way for our wedding and were expecting rain. My bridesmaids and I arrived to the venue at 8AM for hair and make-up. Wim was outside setting up all the chairs in the wind and the rain and using a leaf blower to remove all of the leaves from the sidewalk. Seeing those gestures made me appreciate them even more. They really go above and beyond. Luckily we had no rain for the ceremony and had the most perfect wedding. My husband and I look forward to many more dinners at their outstanding restaurant, Chateau 13 and staying at the B&B! Thank you again Wim and Mieke, you both are truly amazing!!

My husband and I had the pleasure of getting married at the beautiful Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast last month! We have nothing but wonderful things to say about the B+B and its owners, Mieke and Wim. First off, the B+B and its grounds are gorgeous! The oak tree where the ceremonies take place is breathtaking and the river in the background is the icing on top of the cake! Mieke and Wim take such great care of the property. The reception area is so romantic at night. I loved being able to dance the night away outside under the stars! Mieke and Wim always responded to my emails or phone calls very quickly. We did have a wedding coordinator, but Mieke and Wim are so attentive and on top of things that you definitely don’t need a wedding planner at this venue! So many of our wedding guests complimented us on our venue, it truly is a hidden gem!! My husband and I highly recommend you check out this wedding venue!

My husband and I were married in late March at Palmetto Riverside. After over six months of deliberating over wedding venues, we were thrilled to book with Wim & Mieke over a year ago. Throughout the entire planning process they answered any and every question and accommodated each request. The day prior they helped us unload boxes of decor of which I was incredibly thankful, and they were so patient when traffic held up 75% of our wedding party for the rehearsal dinner. On our wedding day they were present all day long and helped put together our ceremony and reception area with our coordinators. They made our day so special AND delivered a gorgeous breakfast the next morning! We have no regrets, our guests could not stop complimenting the venue, even local guests were blown away by this little oasis in Palmetto. We hope to return one day to celebrate our future anniversaries and, if we're lucky, other family and friend's weddings. Words cannot express how PERFECT the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast is and how wonderful the owners Wim and Mieke are. When I started my initial search for venues, I currently live in Tampa, FL I knew I wanted it to be by the water, I wanted it to have a different "feel" to it and most importantly I had to be able to bring my own Wine since I've been in the Wine Industry for 15+ years :) I stumbled upon Palmetto BNB through a featured blog and fell in love. My husband Kyle and I wanted our parents, who live out of state, to come see the venue with us. We booked a site visit for the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2017 and brought them along. It just so happened to be parents anniversary and Wim and Mieke allowed us to arrange a special toast with their very own Champagne they make!! How wonderful is that! From our very first meeting, Wim and Mieke were so welcoming, accommodating and it truly felt like they were opening their home to us. We knew instantly this was the feeling we wanted all of our guests to experience during our wedding weekend. We decided to book two nights for our wedding weekend, and it was my husbands idea to have our immediate family stay with us. It was truly special to share the weekend and wake up with our parents and siblings under the same roof. Leading up and throughout the weekend, it was all the "details" that made our wedding incredibly personal and our guest are still talking about! Fresh flowers in every room, Champagne and Wine for all our guest, allowing our families to truly relax and feel at home. I felt like I was seeing a movie production taking place as I got my hair and makeup done with my closest friends in the "bridal suit" and watched all the vendors bring the wedding space to life! The weather was perfect, it even rained a little and we are calling it "sprinkles of love". Every one of our guest, we had 125 people from out of state, were amazed at the beautiful setting and really appreciated the warm FL weather in February since they were leaving colder weather behind. We can not recommend this venue enough, you truly will experience top notch attention and are not "just a number" like most other venues. From the moment we went to tour the venue, we knew from the start that the blend of European flair, gorgeous landscape and refined hospitality would make our wedding day experience incredible. Wim and his wife ensured that every aspect of our wedding weekend was impeccable and that all of our needs were met. We happened to have a very off season weather forecast and unfortunately had to make a last minute decision to tent our ceremony space. Even though we had to tent it, it still looked fantastic and Wim and his wife were incredibly helpful with their flexibility to continue making the day of perfect. Their experience in coordinating with vendors and responsiveness to any questions (such as our panic about tenting last minute!) truly helped us feel at ease that our day would go smoothly. I would highly recommend them and staying the night before the wedding to get the full experience, especially their beautiful brunch! We can not express our gratitude enough for an incredible weekend.

My husband and I fell in love with Palmetto Riverside B&B the first time we toured the venue, it is such a beautiful location and so well kept and clean! Mieke and Wim are the kindest, warmest, lovely people and helped make our day so beyond our expectations. They truly went above and beyond to accommodate us from the moment we stepped foot to tour the venue to the morning after our wedding where Wim served us the most delicious breakfast! We had the most wonderful wedding at the beautiful Palmetto Riverside BnB, and everything exceeded our expectations! We live in Switzerland and faced the challenge of organizing a wedding from abroad. Mieke and Wim made it easy in every way possible: 1. They were so friendly, responsive and accommodating that we never had to worry or run around looking for answers to any questions or requests. 2. They have worked with most of the vendors in the area and coordination between them all was simple and straightforward. 3. The venue itself is so beautiful and well-equipped (tables, chairs, props, lights), any additional decoration was simply a matter of personalization and they were enthusiastic and flexible regarding our wishes. 4. As Europeans who've lived in the US for many years, Mieke and Wim were open to our non-standard American wedding ideas. The whole experience of planning and hosting our wedding at the Palmetto Riverside BnB was so beautiful and so warm, we look forward to revisiting Mieke and Wim in the future (particularly for one of their fantastic dinners!).

There are not enough stars to list how amazing this place is. We just had our wedding here on June 2, 2018. The owners, Wim and Mieke, are unbelievably kind, generous, and genuine. They literally make you feel like their family and worked perfectly and professionally with all of our vendors. I can't tell you how many compliments I got just on them alone. They worked with us for over a year to plan our day and at this point we plan to go back to stay with them as soon as, and as many times as we can! To go into more detail of the day: We had our rehearsal at the B&B on Friday; the bridal party, mothers, and I stayed the night at the B&B that night (let me describe the rooms- large beds, walk-in showers, classic/historic, but modern feel; full, large kitchen; indoor porch with beautiful china for brunch, catering room, indoor space for cake and food/buffet, TV with Skype to chat with people who may not be able to attend your event, HUGE bridal suite with gorgeous views, right on the water; in the back/reception area one of my favorite things is that they have painted the overhang ceilings blue and installed little lights that look like stars, I could probably go on forever). In the morning, we woke up at our own leisure to an amazing homemade breakfast of smoothies, fresh fruit, custard, yogurt parfaits, assorted bakery items, and Belgian waffles with orange juice, coffee, and champagne. The entire morning went flawlessly, I didn't have to lift a finger to set up anything and best part of all, make any day-of decisions; needless to say, I was absolutely relaxed and stress-free. Wim and Mieke begin to feel like a old friends and by the end of everything, I was sad just to leave them. They sent us off with a bottle of champagne the day after our wedding. I can not stress enough how amazing this place is (because it is purely gorgeous), but it wouldn't be the same without the amazing owners. Thank you again Wim and Mieke!!

If you want a seamlessly amazing venue that feels like a castle out of a fairytale yet home all at the same time, this is your place! Wim & Mieke are simply the BEST and treat their guests like royalty. They go above and beyond what any other venue would or could do and are so caring and sweet. Aside from the gorgeous ceremony and reception space the inside of the B&B is perfection. The bridal suite was more than big enough for myself, 6 bridesmaids, 2 hairstylists/makeup artists, 3 flower girls, 2 mothers. Do yourself a favor and host your wedding here! It was by far the best decision I made throughout the wedding process. I am also looking forward to staycations here for our anniversary and dinner. They really do it all, and they do an amazing job!

Book this venue. This was the third venue I toured, on my very first day of looking for a wedding site. I cancelled every other appointment I had made with various locations after my mom and I toured this place and got to know Wim. I honestly cannot say enough about the level of service, professionalism, and warmth that the owners, Wim and Mieke, exude, which made my planning process and wedding day the absolute best. 1. The proprietors Wim and Mieke make this venue, hands down, the best venue. 2. The natural beauty and stunning additional features of the B&B, its grounds, and its physical location further underscore that this is the absolute best place to get married. 3. I was married here and after the wedding my family and friends asked if there was anything I would change about the day, and I can say with 100% confidence that I would not change a thing and that is due, in large part, to the helpful, friendly, accommodating, experienced, and absolute top notch service provided by this venue, its proprietors, and its employees. Our weekend at the Palmetto Riverside Bnb was magical. I cannot tell you enough how wonderful Wim and Mieke were during our wedding weekend. Their hospitality is unmatched by any place or event I have ever been to.Their kindness and warmth made me feel right at ease when we first met them. They made the planning process so easy, always so quick and ready to respond to emails or phone calls. We were worried about rain on the day of our wedding, but Wim and Mieke already had back up plans. They made sure that you as a guest were always taken care of! I had no worries whatsoever because I knew they would find a way to make our day perfect. Which they did!! Their attention to detail is amazing! I had family, friends and wedding party guests all comment on just how beautiful the venue and hosts were! The venue itself is a perfect location right on the Manatee River overlooking the water. There is a stunning tree in the front of the BnB that has moss hanging down and it just looks so romantic. The Bnb is kept in pristine condition! The location is close in proximity to the Bradenton historic area--great bars and hotels for wedding guests. The Riverside suite we stayed in was wonderful, gorgeous windows with natural sunlight looking in--we could see the water and beautiful tree from there. Gorgeous room! We highly recommend the Riverside Palmetto BnB, I can guarantee it will be PERFECT!

I don't typically give anyone a review of 5 out of 5, but if I could, I would give Wim and Mieke a 6 out of 5. Our wedding weekend was beyond our expectations, in every way. Our vendors were wonderful and the setting was absolutely beautiful, but Wim and Mieke made our day magical. Their hospitality is like no other I have ever experienced. Their family will do everything in their power to make your day so special and everything you ever imagined. We will not only refer this fantastic bed and breakfast for anyone looking for the most wonderful wedding venue in the Sarasota/Tampa Bay area, but as well as a romantic getaway for our friends and family. I don't have enough praise to sing about this beautiful venue and the amazing owners. My husband and I knew we wanted a waterfront wedding in Florida without the beach. Not as easy as it sounds. I was stunned at the beauty and serenity that the venue offered- outside and in. The front yard (and wedding locale) is lush, green, and spotted with perfectly manicured flowerbeds. It overlooks the Manatee River for a perfect water-view without the sand. The existing arch is under a gorgeous tree with Spanish moss. The back patio is host to the reception site. We had 12 tables and one large head table and still had plenty of room for our guests to bust a move. They recently added a movable bar to the venue, as well! Hanging lights decorate the area to add to the ambiance. Inside is a large reception area that we used for a buffet. The inside of the Bed and Breakfast is tastefully decorated and is the perfect setting for getting-ready photos offering lots of natural light! As beautiful as the venue is, however, Meike and Wim really sealed the deal. Simply put- they are fantastic. They were always available for the endless questions I had while planning, and very accommodating when I needed to come look at something/take photos etc. They offered insight, suggestions, and an extensive list of preferred vendors (although, you can choose your own vendors- something we loved as well.) Day-of they even assisted in setup and breakdown. This couple made us feel at home every time we stepped through the door.

Words cannot express how perfect our wedding was, in large part due to the beautiful venue and amazing innkeepers. The venue is stunning. Our guests are still talking about it 2 weeks later! It is such a unique, quaint venue that guests can just fill with love and happiness. The innkeepers, Wim and Mieke, are AMAZING. We had an emergency arise where are wedding coordinator was unable to make it. We didn't even worry--we knew Wim and Mieke would help us! They made our wedding day run so smoothly and were so attentive to every detail and making sure we were having fun. It was absolutely perfect and we cannot thank them enough! I also highly recommend staying at the bed and breakfast as long as possible! We rented it out from Thursday night through Sunday and had our parents and siblings stay there as well! It was beyond spectacular. You really felt right at home. Between the little goodies left out for when we returned at night, to the delicious breakfasts prepared every morning, it was the perfect environment to spend time with the ones we love. On day 2 my Dad even started planning the next trip we could take to come back and stay at the inn! Overall, it was an amazing experience. From the venue, to Wim and Mieke, to our stay at the inn, we couldn't have pictured a more perfect weekend.

Having our wedding at the Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast was by far the best decision we made planning our big day. My fiancé and I visited multiple venues and within the first 5 minutes of visiting the Palmetto B&B and meeting with the owners, Wim and Mieke, we knew this was the perfect venue for us. Wim and Mieke truly make you feel like family and want to make your wedding as perfect as possible and help bring your vision to life. The grounds speak for themselves with their natural beauty set along the river with so many great backdrops for photos and you can tell the detail Wim and Mieke put into keeping the property in pristine condition. They were both always so quick to respond to every email and recommended an A-list group of local vendors, which was extremely helpful in narrowing down our search. Just a few examples of what you can expect on your wedding weekend, Wim and Mieke had wine and beer waiting for our wedding party when we arrived for our rehearsal, helped prepare a bridal brunch and a beer cooler for the groomsmen while getting ready, and most importantly, went above and beyond to quickly rearrange the venue when we got some unexpected rain and ensured everything went off as planned without skipping a beat. We woke up the day after our wedding to the most amazing breakfast and feeling so thankful we choose the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast to host our wedding. Meike and Wim made this such an easy and outstanding choice!!!! It's the only venue my now husband and I looked at and we both knew immediately we had to have it. The pictures don't even do it justice- the property is stunning. Meike and Wim were such a dream to work with from the very first meeting. We did not have a wedding planner but we honestly didn't need one as they were SO helpful- thinking of every detail when we did not. I think the best part though was on the day of. I did not handle one thing- they spoke to all the vendors and did all the setting up. All I had to do was sit back and enjoy the amazing day with my bridesmaids!! I seriously cannot say enough great things about this place!! I do not have one negative to say. I would recommend this venue to anyone!

The Palmetto Riverside Bed & Breakfast is the one and only wedding venue my husband and I toured for our May 2016 wedding. I immediately fell in love with the photos online and that was only reinforced during our initial preview of the property. It took all of ten minutes to commit and say yes to a date. You won’t find a more beautiful and pristinely kept venue. And you especially won’t find innkeepers better than Mieke and Wim. They’ve thought of everything to make your wedding experience all that you’ve ever dreamed of. The rooms, common areas, outdoor landscaping and spaces are simply breathtaking. It’s like stepping into a Southern Living magazine. Mieke and Wim were a pleasure to work with during the wedding planning process. I sent countless emails with questions and they always responded immediately. I never went more than a couple of hours without hearing back. When at the B&B for our wedding weekend, they made themselves 110% available no matter what the request or time of day. They do everything in their power to make your experience picture-perfect. Even the minor details get much thought and it’s clearly evident with the way they run their B&B and wedding venue. You truly feel like a queen and king on your special day/weekend (especially with their gorgeous breakfast feasts)! Mieke and Wim are not only B&B innkeepers and on-site wedding support, we now also consider them friends. We look forward to many anniversaries spent at the B&B with more laughs and good times with them.

Wim and Mieke are nothing short of outstanding! They have created such a unique twist on southern coastal vintage living and we seriously did not look at a single other venue! They went above and beyond for us the entire year from start to finish and we would not have had such a perfect day if it weren't for this perfect family, their generosity and love for what they do! Our wedding started in a literal monsoon but they were calm and encouraging the whole day which whether they meant to or not kept me just as calm! Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast was more than we could have dreamed of and we will cherish our wedding day for the rest of our lives and recommend them to anyone and everyone! My husband and I just got married at the Palmetto Riverside B&B in October. We couldn't have picked a better venue! The owners, Wim and Mieke, are the nicest people ever and they could not have been more accommodating! The breakfasts that they cooked for part of our family who stayed overnight was out of this world! The house and grounds were also always immaculate, and they were wonderful with helping set up and clean up. The decor and set up of the entire venue is beautiful! All of our guests told us that it was one of the most beautiful weddings that they have ever attended. We highly suggest using this venue!!!!

I fell in love with Palmetto Riverside B&B the moment I saw it. The B&B's character and class directly reflect the owners, Wim and Mieke. The venue is absolutely gorgeous, but it is the care and attention that they give you that earns a 5 star review. From day one, they were so gracious and helped me with any (sometimes frantic or crazy) question I had. And I felt like royalty when they cooked a European brunch for me and my bridesmaids on the morning of the wedding. I cannot imagine a better place to get married. Just perfect.

As soon as I walked around this beautiful venue with my now husband and Wim, one of the Innkeepers, I knew that day that this was going to be the venue for our wedding. This venue is unlike any other in the area. It is charming, romantic, and simply gorgeous. The B&B helped to create the tone that my husband and I were wanting on our wedding day. The flow of the venue was perfect for hosting the ceremony and reception at the same location. Not only is the property itself amazing, but the Innkeepers are a true pleasure to work with. They were extremely prompt and responsive to any questions we had throughout the planning process. They are knowledgeable, helpful, and very genuine people. Our family and friends had nothing but great things to say about the wedding ceremony and reception at the B&B. The historical looking homes, gorgeous view of the bay, and amazing tree on the front lawn really left a lasting impression. This venue will always hold a special place in my heart.

Our experience with Wim and Mieke and the Palmetto Bed and Breakfast was so exceptional it has taken me a year to try to find the words to express how truly amazing it was. A year ago my husband and I married here. For us it was a destination wedding and the one thing we knew we wanted was not to get married on a beach or in a ballroom- so the search for such a perfect venue was not an easy one. After searching and searching we stumbled across the Palmetto B&B- it was truly answer to prayer. It somehow meet my husband and my vision of a charming backyard wedding, my Father’s vision of an elegant wedding venue, and was handicap accessible to meet the needs of my grandparents (which surprisingly not every venue is). We quickly all fell in love with the B&B and with its owners Wim and Mieke and their sweet family. We decided to book the entire B&B for the weekend and every part of our experience staying in and marrying at the Palmetto B&B was magical. Wim and Mieke are the most gracious hosts you will ever have. They will bend over backwards to make you experience as perfect as possible. Their eye for detail and strives towards perfection are evident in every aspect of the amazing venue. The house and grounds of the B&B are meticulously cared for. All our family and friends also quickly fell in love with the beauty of the venue when they arrived. Marrying facing the water, under an old tree in what feels like your own private front yard was absolutely magical. The whole experience of marrying in the yard and walking around back to the reception created such a sense of intimacy and ease. The reception was equally as beautiful under the glowing string lights and the magical backyard venue, like one of my friends said, “felt like movie set”. My only regret was not staying at the B&B another day- if you can, stay the day before, the night after the event, and the day and evening following. The wedding is such a fast happy blur, you will want more time to absorb the special moment in your life that just happened while relaxing at the beautiful home that Wim and Mieke have created. I could not have dreamt of a more perfect venue or a more wonderful experience for our wedding day. They will make you feel like your wedding is as special as the first wedding they ever had there, even though they are truly pros!

Wim and Meike at the Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast went above and beyond from the very beginning to make sure our event was perfect. They offer expert opinions and service, and the most beautiful setting just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. We will most definitely be visiting again and would recommend the same to anyone who asked!

Perfect all the way around, from the owners to the location and everything in between! I have absolutely no complaints at all. Wim & Mieke were a dream to work with. Extremely nice & personable. Beautiful location and grounds. I can't wait to go back and visit!

Wim and Mieke were great people to work with in planning details for the ceremony site. Nothing can beat this site for beauty if you want to have an outdoor wedding. The B&B is overlooking the Manatee River and there is a huge old oak tree in the yard for the ceremony. My guests couldn't get over the gorgeous backdrop for our wedding. Although I only used them for a ceremony site, they do have a reception room and an outdoor area if you plan on having a small reception.
