They captured our day so perfectly. From every little detail, to candid photos, to stunning backdrop photos, they captured the day so well. Alison and JJ also captured really lovely candid moments of not just us, but of our friends and family. We ended up with over 1300 images of our wedding. Alison and JJ also provided incredible customer service. They were extremely responsive and returned any texts or emails almost instantaneously. They were willing to travel to a distant location, had flexible and resonable packages (although they should definitely charge more than they do), and were really easy to coordinate with for our engagement photos, which we asked to td fairly quickly after hiring them. As for our engagement session, neither of us are particularly comfortable in front of cameras, but Alison and JJ are so pleasant and easygoing that we felt relaxed and even enjoyed the experience. On the day of our wedding, they went above and beyond. They helped to manage the chaos of our huge wedding party, searched for and found lost items, and gave us pep talks when we were feeling stressed and overwhelmed. Alison actually zipped up my dress and secured my pearl necklace when my mom was struggling with the zipper and clasp. She bustled my dress, made decisions about shots when we weren’t sure what approach to take, and was so incredibly kind in moments when we really needed objective opinions. Alison and JJ also navigated working with another team of videographers - which meant there were more people to avoid in shots and take turns directing the action with. We know they would be able to work with anyone in any situation. We cannot say enough positive things about Alison and JJ. We are so grateful and wholeheartedly recommend them.

do it during COVID was SOOOOOO much more stressful. It felt like our plans were changing daily. But J.J. and Alison were so flexible and responsive every time I emailed them. They were quick to roll with the punches whenever we had any changes to our original plan. They were also so helpful with planning! We didn't have a wedding coordinator, so we relied on their recommendations for vendors, locations for the photo shoots, and they even helped us put together our timeline. Our photos were absolutely beautiful and were delivered so quick after our engagement shoot and wedding. I know some people wait for months to get their pictures back, but we had ours in just a couple of weeks. They are also so reasonably priced! The quality and amount of photos is unbeatable for what you pay. We plan to use them for all our family photos from now on and recommend them to all our friends looking for wedding or family photos. If you're looking for a photographer, book them. I promise you won't regret it!

Lace team I immediately fell in love with their beautiful work. The images in the portfolio looked so organic and natural- exactly the style I was looking for. My husband and I had a last minute wedding and JJ (our photographer) was absolutely nice and flexible during the preparation communication. You know a wedding day might be a little bit stressful, even if it’s a small ceremony for two, and you want everything to be smooth and easy. I really appreciate that JJ was very punctual and arrived even earlier, so he had a chance to walk around the venue to find good spots for the photoshoot. He was so nice and easy going and we both felt absolutely relaxed during the photoshoot. The pictures turned out just fantastic, very romantic and full of real emotions. are not only incredible photographers, but amazing friends from the start! They kept in contact throughout the months before the wedding to help get everything in place. On our wedding day, Alison saved the day with extra bobby pins for the bride’s hair and JJ even changed my flat tire on the way to the wedding. They were super flexible with the wedding schedule as unforeseen changes flowed throughout the day. They were up for anything we wanted to do for the sake of a picture haha and they have a great eye for poses and locations. Having two photographers is a huge benefit to capture multiple perspectives and the photos are stunning! We received edited teaser photos in less than 24 hours and our edited gallery in less than a week. We are amazed at the moments they captured during our wedding day! They made us look so good and they captured every moment of happiness and love so perfectly. They were along for the ride that was our wedding day and they were a breath of peace and kindness whenever the stress of the day started to creep in. They made the whole experience super laid back and easy for us, while capturing absolutely amazing pictures and memories! They captured the happiness and joy of the day perfectly without being intrusive. We received our gallery of gorgeous photos very quickly and my friends and family can’t stop gushing over them. I’ll say out of the hundreds of beautiful photos that they took, my favorite and most sentimental is of my husband’s vows since I accidentally washed his pants with the vows folded inside. JJ and Alison are simple the sweetest and kindest couple, and their love for each other and for photography is contagious. Most importantly, they have such artistic eyes to capture the most genuine and precious moments. The husband wife combo is perfect for covering the day from multiple angles. JJ has always been there for me throughout the planning process, even for things that are not directly related to photography. For example It was through JJ that I found my amazing videographer and a few beautiful hikes in Hawaii! Alison was with me the whole day and she took care of me like a sister- fixing my hair and dress, and made sure I enjoy the day without worrying about anything else. I wouldn’t have survived the day without her! Last but not least, they were able to deliver the photos a week after the wedding. JJ was so sweet that he sent us sneak peeks of the photos before the final delivery to “hold me over”. We feel like we have built a lasting friendship with JJ and Alison!

They did get our final images to us in less than two weeks, and there were way too many shots we loved. They took incredible pictures on our wedding day and captured so many great memories for us! JJ works with his wife, Alison, and they are a strong team. They have two different points of view, which provided a diverse assortment of photos. We felt lucky to have both of them, and if we had worked with a different photographer, we would've missed the two perspectives. When taking photos, JJ and Alison made us feel comfortable. They took us to several great locations on the North Shore of Oahu, based on where we were staying. The locations were stunning, and made for great backdrops. They provided direction when shooting, resulting in some iconic photos. Before the wedding, Alison partnered with me and my bridal squad. She took photos of us getting ready, helped with our hair and makeup, and even took pictures of my rings and shoes (I'm still not sure how she found time for it all!). In the meantime, JJ was photographing Cullen and his friends getting ready. Alison and JJ were invaluable in helping coordinate the first look between Cullen and I, as well as kicking the ceremony off on-time. Looking at the photos now, it's obvious JJ and Alison knew exactly who and what to capture. Their professional experience was evident from the first email communication to receiving our photo album. The whole process was an ease and we truly couldn't have been happier with how our photos turned out. JJ and Alison ended up being more than our photographers on our wedding day. understanding about working within our wedding budget, and even gave us advice as to when to have the ceremony to get the best lighting for photos, etc. On the day of the wedding, they showed up right in time to get beautiful "getting ready" pictures, and I was completely comfortable having Alison in the room with us ladies as we got ready, which says a lot as I sometimes feel awkward having my picture taken. They have such a wonderful and dynamic style of photography as they are a team of two, allowing them to catch very different styles of photos, such as posed vs. candid. For example, Alison photographed my husband and I in the classic wedding style poses, while JJ caught the goofy shenanigans leading up to and following the nice poses. Following the wedding, they got our pictures to us in FIVE days, (how fast is that?!) and we love absolutely them, they are truly priceless to us and our families. I could go on, but to keep it short, YES!! Hire these two to shoot your wedding, I am sure that you will not be disappointed. They are incredibly talented photographers, and just lovely people in general, and are sure to make your big day that much more special.

Not only did we get pictures that were so beautiful we were brought to tears, but we got to spend a day with 2 amazing people who made us feel like family. On top of that, Alison did my hair for the wedding and did better than any pictures on Pinterest. She also made my absolutely gorgeous haku lei (floral crown) AND bouquet! I mean, talk about hitting the jackpot! JJ was so responsive and helpful before we even got to the island (I honestly felt like family before even meeting). He answered every question I had and had so many suggestions that helped make my planning job so much easier. On our wedding day, Alison helped me get ready all morning (and took beautiful "getting ready" photos) while JJ "groom sat" my now husband to keep him occupied until the ceremony (and took pictures of my handsome man). After the ceremony, we went to multiple stunning locations and took pictures almost the entire day. They took us places we didn't even know existed - but we are SO glad we know about now. Our wedding was just my husband and I, so taking pictures was super important for us to be able to share with our family and friends back home in NC. We truly couldn't be happier with how they turned out (plus we got them SO fast, too, literally in a couple of days). I've had multiple family members and friends brought to tears just from seeing our beautiful pictures. I honestly have no idea what we would have done without these two. They made our day so much more perfect than we could have ever dreamed. I've said it multiple times now, but I feel so incredibly bless to have found JJO Photo on The Knot.
