Overall, we ended up exceptionally happy with PAHGCC as our reception venue. Everything flowed very smoothly on the day, the food was excellent (we still have many friends and fam...
ily voluntarily tell us it was the best food they’ve ever had at a wedding), the wait staff was very well organized and attentive, Cassie (who has since left) helped tremendously on the day and in the week or so leading up to the wedding, and of course there are beautiful views from the country club.
Unfortunately, we did experience some negatives on the preparatory side in the months leading up to the wedding. There were sometimes long delays in responses (we were at one point told that one person’s email system had been hacked, which we were never sure whether was true or just an excuse). This was at times frustrating as many aspects of planning a wedding are a dependency chain where you need one thing figured out, or a question answered, before you can plan other things that still more things depend on, etc.
That said, ultimately the day of the wedding itself was fantastic, which was the most important thing, so we are very pleased we chose PAHGCC as our venue.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at the PAHGCC. They took care of every detail, especially on the day of the wedding. During the planning, we initiated all of the communicatio...
n, but they were responsive and did an excellent job meeting our needs. Our wedding coordinator even videotaped our first dance for us. The patient, kind, and helpful staff made the wedding such a beautiful experience for all of our guests. A gorgeous venue!

e location up in the hills provides many great photo-ops. There is a beautiful waterfall on the golf course that provided an amazing backdrop for our pictures. Everyone was helpful and responsive. You don't have to be a member to have your wedding here, which is not true of all country clubs.
Initially during planning, we loved our venue. The day of the wedding was decent. Service during dinner was good. Our guests all complimented how pretty the venue was. The reason ...
I'm giving them 3 stars is due a few things:
- When signing the contract, you give consent that you are aware there may be noise at the pool next to the patio during the ceremony. I didn't think it would be that bad but during the ceremony I felt really distracted by the kids screaming and splashing. I had a hard time focusing on our officiant and the ceremony itself. Afterwards a lot of our guests, said they could not hear over the kids. If I had known it would be that bad, I might have reconsidered the location of our ceremony or the venue all together.
- A relative of ours brought in moon cakes as a nice gesture, but we weren't aware of it. It was put on plates and set at each table with our cake. Cake cutting was included in our package, but the venue charged us $130 for setting out the moon cakes. I initially didn't know what the charges were until after but was disappointed that we were charged. The moon cakes didn't need to be cut or anything, just placed on a plate and put on the table. Essentially, the moon cakes were treated as part of our cake for the guests, so I don't think charging us was necessary if they were already cutting and plating our cake(s) we brought in. This relates to my next disappointment, which is that after the wedding, we felt like the club tried to charge us left and right for so many things, cleaning fees, the moon cakes, etc. It felt like they were trying to milk us for money after the fact. That was upsetting, especially because it was only the next day and they were already bringing us down from our wedded bliss. My aunt was my coordinator that day and did everything for us. She asked the club not to contact us for anything post-wedding related but they did anyway. Once she found out she contacted them and dealt with them directly. Luckily she was able to have them reverse the $800 in additional fees.
All in all we had a beautiful wedding and it was the time of our lives, BUT beware of the pool situation that almost ruined the ceremony for us. Also note that the club will probably send you a bunch of additional fees and charges the next day!
Even though there was some construction still going on in the front, the banquet room with the amazing views were magical. The staff were all very accommodating and easy to work w...

I would have expcted them to be given the amount of money we were giving them as well as the level of their involvement in our wedding day activities.

d Country Club are one of the most disorganized people I have ever met. The day of my wedding they miscounted the # of tables. Luckily I had my own wedding planner, Ann Lee of At Last Wedding Services saved the day! They also made the decision not to serve hard alcohol after the dinner and told my guests that it was the groom and bride's decision. I was not happy about that as I told them several times that we would host open bar during cocktail hour and wine and beer after cocktail hour. Also the waiters and waitresses were also quite rude. Ohh and the catering department does not return phone calls.
