We had our wedding 2 weeks ago and still to this day are getting so many compliments on our wedding day especially the venue. I feel like Palos Country Club is sor...
t of a hidden wedding gem. You hear so many amazing things about all the other events they hold but not a lot about the weddings. Josephine made sure our dream came true. She worked hard and diligently with us to go over every last detail. Josephine was absolutely amazing to work with. I cannot recommend Palos Country Club enough to everyone looking to book their wedding date. When I tell you I literally had no time to be a bridezilla i really didn't have a reason to. Josephine worked exceptionally well with all of our vendors and wedding coordinator it was the smoothest running wedding I have ever been too. Thank you again Josephine!
We had our wedding at Palos Country Club, and it was absolutely perfect! When we first started planning, we worked with Pat, who was so kind and helpful. After she retired, we were...
a little nervous about the transition—but Tracie and Jeanelle completely saved the day! They went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly and that every detail was just right.
The venue itself was beautiful—our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the space and how well everything flowed. The food, the service, and the overall experience exceeded all expectations. Tracie and Jeanelle truly cared about making our day special, and we can’t thank them enough for all their hard work and professionalism.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue that combines charm, great service, and a team that truly cares, Palos Country Club is the perfect choice!
Recently had my wedding at Palos CC and would never recommend. I paid extra to have the on-site bar, Murphy's Pub, open after my reception. Instead we were kicked out and not given...
a refund. Staff was rude, service was slow.
As a summary, below is the email I sent afterwards, to which I have never received a response (3 weeks later). I was mailed a $250 refund of the $500 they owe me.
Email to Palos CC event planner: "I'll start by saying thank you for your help in organizing details throughout the planning process, and being responsive to emails and phone calls with great advice and answers to questions. The day was beautiful and truly the most fun I could have imagined. Our phones have been ringing nonstop with guests from both sides reaching out to talk about how much fun they had, how great the music was, comment on the good food, and the beautiful ceremony. It is sad that I will NOT be able to recommend Palos to friends and family following the horrible management and service experience. Within EVERY phone call or text about what a great night everyone had, there was also a comment about the rude bartenders, specifically Mary. This came from both sides, young and old, drunk and sober (yes, there were several sober witnesses to the events as they unfolded). This began from the second we arrived, continued during cocktail hour, and worsened as the evening went on. The wait staff was fine, despite the slow dinner service, which I was told by several people including the seasoned DJ and photographers "they're always slow here." Not a good reputation to precede you. Denise has also lived up to her reputation of being extremely unpleasant. Maybe the servers should have spent more time serving the dinner, and less time jacking around in my photobooth. I have pictures to prove it.
I am disgusted by the fact that after being told "we're not opening the bar for you, you're shut down, you have to leave" you STILL allowed some of my guests to spend their money at Murphys, and now are using that as your excuse for not giving me a full $500 refund. After "shutting us down" and calling my guests a "liability," how could you then continue to serve them in Murphys? How could you tell me (ruining my night) that my afterparty is not happening, and yet still accept money from my guests, whom you made it very clear were no longer welcome? It was Palos' responsibility to close Murphys after you told me it would not be open for us, NOT my responsibility to tell each of my 200 guests "party's cancelled you can't go in there." Shame on you for thinking you could have it both ways- keeping my $500, kicking me out, but also accepting payment and tips from my guests who didn't know that Murphys was cancelled.
I’m shocked by the lack of apology given to me thus far, and the attitude given to my mom over the phone. I will be in contact about my refund until it is received. I will also be giving honest reviews about my experience with Palos to whoever asks."
There are plenty of good options on the south side, skip Palos.
Overall, Palos Country Club did an amazing job hosting our wedding reception. Right from the beginning, Jamie, the wedding coordinator at Palos, was very involved in the planning p...
rocess. The months leading up to the wedding ran very smoothly, and Jamie was great about keeping in contact and keeping us up to date with the things we needed to get done. There was only one issue the day of the wedding. I was informed during the reception that our cake, which was included in our dinner package, did not get delivered. Although I am partly to blame for this mishap, the communication between Palos and Orland Park Bakery could have been a little bit better, as the bakery supplies the cake to Palos for all of the weddings there. The bakery did drop off a sheet cake, but my aunt needed to drive 30 minutes one way to pick up a little cake that we could cut into. Other than that, it was a perfect night. Everyone raved about the food, and the drinks were flowing. The servers and bartenders were so much fun as well! Palos is a diamond in the rough and I am so happy we chose this venue to celebrate our marriage!
DO NOT EVER GO HERE!! WORST MANAGEMENT AND STAFF!!!!!!!
My Mother had a tab at the cash bar for coffee, teas and soda for non-drinkers. The staff refused to serve any of it. Which...
means my 90 year old grandmother, aunts, uncles and other guests that don't drink did not have anything to drink for 2 hours til they sat down @ 7pm. They wouldn't even serve water to them.
We met with Pat (horrible manager) who guaranteed the beer/liquor list we requested was stocked and it wasn't. So the beer and liquor I specifically paid for was not there.
During cocktail hour I watched one of the servers make fun of multiple guests on multiple occasions regarding baldness, weight, etc.
They opened the ballroom and closed down the cocktail bar 30 minutes before they were supposed to.
Pat (the manager) said she would be there the whole time and of course was nowhere to be found before dinner was even served.
Bar was supposed to open at 8pm after dinner and they refused to re-open bar til 8:30 pm.
My friend (in his 30s and doesn't really drink) had his elbow against the bar saying hello to my mother when he was physically shoved by a bartender and told to "get off their bar"
at 10:25pm I was dancing with my wife and a few of my guests let me know that they just packed up all of the bar and shut it down. I went over there and the manager was extremely disrespectful and had every excuse in the book why she was closing down my reception. All of which were complete lies that I caught her in. At this point the male bartender started a fight with me and wanted to turn into an actual physical altercation in the hallway of the ballroom. Our contract stated that the reception was supposed to end at 11:30 and the bar was completely shut down by 10:25pm
We paid for 4.5 hours of premium open bar in our contract and barely received half of that
My son's wedding was at Palos Country Club this past weekend.
I have spent 40 years in the service industry, over 30 years in the South Chicago wedding industry and was absolutely...
appalled at the poor service & treatment we received from Palos Country Club! The waitstaff and bartenders were terrible, and clearly poorly trained/managed. They had no concern for the quality of service (or lack their of) they were providing, and made no attempt to remedy any of the several issues/complaints we had with them thru-out the evening. They were rude and unprofessional to our guests, and even pushed one of them. Management offered many promises to sign a contract and completely broke or did not follow thru on most of them. They closed the bar early and when we asked for an explanation they trumped up false accusations regarding our guests. There were no issues with any of our guests. It appears the staff had worked a big party the night before and were all tired and wanted to go home. So, they just closed up the bar (which was agreed to be open till 11pm) at 10:45pm, and were in the cars and gone by 10:55pm. They had no valid explanations, and began to get confrontational when we inquired as to how they could just stop serving when we had paid for the bar until 11pm. I could go one and list several more issues.. So much so, that we will be taking legal action. Just know, if you’re considering Palos Country Club for your affair, BEWARE!
The venue was very nice and clean. Food was fantastic. The manager was always kind of crabby though.
Everyone at my wedding complimented the food and the beautiful setting
My husband and I were married at Palos Country Club on 09/05/15 and could not have been happier with our experience there. Pat, who runs the weddings there, is very straightforwar...
d and sweet. She helped us organize everything while working with us on certain things that we wanted. Specifically, we wanted a large farm table and cupcakes versus the cake they provided. Pat provided us different options for both, helping to ensure that we were satisfied. The staff set up the room beautifully and did a great job all night. We received great feedback on the food and had a large enough dance floor to accommodate all 250 of our guests. It was an amazing day to start off our lives together and we can't thank Pat and the Palos staff enough being so easy to work with!
I had my reception at Palos Country Club in October. I could not be happier with everything. The room was beautiful. The food was delicous, everyone is still talking about much th...
ey loved the champaign chicken. Pat was so helpful with everything and was a pleasure to work with. I would reccommend Palos to everyone.
I'm so lucky to have found Palos Country Club, signing that contract was the best thing I could have done for my Sept '13 wedding!! I worked with Pat and she was my saving grace th...
rough my year of planning. She is one tough lady and I knew from the very first day that she would fight to get everything we wanted done for us and make our day perfect (which it was and then some)! She'll give it to you straight, no bs, which I really appreciated. The day of, when our wedding cake wasn't being delivered on time the Palos crew made it all work out, contacting the cake vendor and fighting to get our cake in (which they did just minutes before we made our grand entrance). The Grand Ballroom & grounds are absolutely stunning, everything is kept in the best shape possible. Clean & beautiful, 100%.
Other venues just cannot compete with their prices. I searched EVERYWHERE and you will NOT find a better deal in a better setting than Palos CC. Do yourself a favor & CHECK THEM OUT!
Everyone was raving about the food!! SO DELICIOUS!! We had the Tenderloin of Beef served Chateaubriand style with Bearnaise sauce which was accompanied by Chicken Vesuvio. Best of both worlds- chicken & filet! The tenderloin was replenished at every table to ensure that everyone got the temperature they preferred and nobody left hungry. We even had a great time at the tasting! They allowed both parents to come and served us all the options as full plates with drinks! Much more enjoyable than meeting with a huge crowd buffet style.
The bar service was awesome.. they had everything and the bartenders knew how to make all the drinks. Even with 225 people there was never a line at the bar, and everyone always had a drink in hand which made for great times on their huge dance floor!
There is not enough characters left on this review to express how pleased I was with Palos CC. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!! THANKS PALOS CC CREW & PAT for the PERFECT night!!!! I just wish it could have lasted longer!!
We had our wedding in the Grand Ballroom and it was wonderful. Food was good, service was good, drinks were good. The room looked beautiful with all of my centerpieces and everythi...
ng put together. Part of the reason I chose this venue is because it was very neutral. We were also able to take pictures outside near the golf course and they were fantastic. We dealt mostly with Pat in the office and she was fantastic! Always available and really and truly a very nice person. I'm glad we had our reception there. Our family and friends all said they had a great time.
I was in a wedding here, and because of how wonderful that wedding went, I chose to have my wedding there. I was in the large room which is beautiful with all of the windows overlo...
oking the golf course. Our food was delicious, and the venue was just beautiful. The event coordinators that I worked with were very helpful. I was an out of state bride so I sent a lot of e-mails and my e-mails were always answered very quickly no matter what time I sent them. I did feel a little tension between the bakery that they worked with and the wedding coordinators, but when all was said & done, they worked everything out and I got the cake I wanted! One other thing that my husband was not too happy about was the access to the bar. The Stanley Cup finals were going on, and it was a very important blackhawks game. We were allowed to watch the tvs from outside in the back area, but we couldn't actually go into the bar. Actually one of my guests was kicked out of the bar for trying to check the score! Despite this, we absolutely loved everything else, and they really worked with us on a good price. All the rooms in this venue are just beautiful, and I highly recommend!
As soon as we walked in to visit Palos Country Club, we knew it was our venue. They were so helpful with planning and accommodating our needs and every want. The room was so beauti...
ful and for the price, you get so much more than other places we looked at. All of my guests loved the room, the bar service, and the staff. I would recommend Palos Country Club to any couple looking for a wedding reception venue!
The space was large enough for our 200+ person wedding. The stage was great for our band. The food was fantastic as was the price. They had 2-3 bartenders all night. My only compl...
aint a few glasses were dropped throughout the night and at one point the bus boys just handed me, the bride, the broom and dust pan. It was towards the end of the night so everyone was tired. Another bus boy saw it. shot him a look, apologized to me and cleaned it up.

reat and my guest had a wonderful time. We have even referred them to friends and family. We were very concerned because we both live in another state and really did not know what to expect but they put us at ease and it was just wonderful. There are many receptions site in and around Chicago but this place is a hidden gem. We would like thank you again Palos Country club.
