Pam is absolutely amazing at what she does and is such a delight to work with. My partner and I are two people who love each other's company but barely have any posed photos together. We were a little nervous about getting wedding photos. We asked for just a couple specific photos with family after the ceremony and then candids for the rest of the night. Pam was incredible. For photos of just the two of us, Pam gave us direction on flattering and fun ways to pose. She helped us get all of our families together for group photos, and those turned out beautifully. The thing that I was most impressed with was that for the rest of the night she was everywhere getting candids just like I had dreamed. She got pictures of everybody in such fun and natural moments and it was exactly what I had hoped for. Not only did she do an amazing job but her optimistic and kind demeanor was the most welcome addition to the day. She texted me in the morning wishing me a beautiful day, came to introduce herself to me and all my girls, and even helped me figure out how to put on a strappy heel my sister and I couldn't figure out right before walking down the aisle. Halfway through the reception we realized she photographed my cousin's wedding about 10 years ago. Pam is both vibrant, calming, and an EXPERT in her field. My mom who is a photographer looked at her work and knew she was the one! PAM is the BEST.

Pamela fell in love with photography when she was in high school. She was assigned to photograph a friend, and she loved every minute of the experience. When the assignment was finished and the laughter had subsided, she discovered that she had captured her friend’s true essence. Pamela realized then that photography was her true calling, and ever since, she has gone from strength to strength. She earned a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in fine art photography, from Towson State University. Two years later, she earned a certification in biomedical photography from The Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. Pamela has been a professional photographer since 1997, and today, her passion for her craft remains as strong as ever.
Pamela Harvey Photography covers engagements, rehearsals, and wedding day celebrations. Wedding packages are personalized to suit your particular wishes. All packages include pre-event consultations, wedding day coverage, all final digital photographs, permission to print & post, an online gallery for friends & family, a custom print package, & an engagement session. I photograph Love for a Living. I am the Storyteller. The Fly on the Wall. The Memory Keeper. I work for Tears of Joy & my goal is to become Your Family Photographer. I cannot think of a better way to spend my time & support my own family.
I fell in love with photography in the late 80’s during my high school black & white photography class. I was given an assignment to photograph my best friend in the studio. Many shots later, my favorite photos were the candids…my best friend laughing, talking, rolling her eyes, and looking everywhere but the camera. I remember thinking, ‘Wow! That is truly her!’
Fast forward many years to today where I am known for my ability to capture The True You. From Family & Senior Portrait Sessions to Wedding Celebrations, capturing the natural, candid moments is what I enjoy most.
Since I began shooting professionally, I have become good friends with many of my customers. My friendly nature combined with professional services & beautiful products, ensure a fun & memorable experience for everyone. Many of my customers call on me year after year to capture their family milestones. My loyal customers, along with their referrals, are what grow my business. I am beyond grateful for every one of them!
I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art with a concentration in Photography from Towson State University in October 1995. Two years later, I received a Certification in Biomedical Photography from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In August 1998, I began working as a Medical Photographer in the Department of Biomedical Communications at The George Washington University Medical Center. I was later promoted to Assistant Manager and remained in that position until June 2005. I am currently based in Harford County, MD & serve many of the surrounding areas. I am a mom, a photographer, & a nature lover!
