I was told that the gown I originally wanted could not be made in time for my October wedding, but was advised that the store had a wide variety of off-the-rack options that could ...
be purchased and adjusted. I provided a very detailed explanation of what I was looking for, including photos and my budget.
When I arrived at the store, the experience immediately fell short of expectations. The store smelled strongly of smoke that had been covered with air freshener, which was not the impression I expected from a luxury bridal boutique. Despite the detailed information I had already given in advance, I was asked the same questions again and handed a glass of lemonade after being told there was no champagne available. I even offered to purchase a bottle myself.
I tried a custom order of the gown I originally wanted and was very happy with it, but I still asked to see the other options that were supposedly prepared for me. I was told there were none in my size, and only one or two additional gowns could be shown. Strangely, those gowns also weren’t in my size. This was disappointing, especially as the store was fully aware from multiple phone calls that I was flying in from Grand Cayman specifically for this appointment.
I eventually purchased the Naturi gown off the rack. Before making payment, I specifically asked the sales manager, Shaondel, if there was any issue with the gown or a reason for the heavy discount. She assured me there was no issue — only that it had been a custom order another customer did not collect. Based on that assurance, I felt comfortable moving forward with the purchase.
After payment, however, I witnessed another guest being offered champagne. My maid of honor and I exchanged looks, and only then were two glasses brought over to us. At that point, the inconsistency in the experience was clear, but I chose not to let it overshadow the moment since I had just spent thousands of dollars.
Later, when I took the gown to my dressmaker in Barbados for modifications, I discovered two things:
1. The gown had already been altered and worn before, based on where prior alterations had been made.
2. There was a hidden tear in the tulle on the train.
I immediately reached out to the store to resolve the matter. What I received in response was dismissive, with the manager now claiming she never told me the gown had no issues, essentially calling me a liar. This was incredibly disappointing, as I had asked her point-blank before making my purchase. On top of the modifications I already needed, I am now faced with additional costs to repair hidden damage — something I was specifically told did not exist.
This entire process has been stressful and disheartening, especially with my wedding now less than six weeks away. The dishonesty, poor service, and lack of accountability have completely overshadowed what should have been a joyful milestone.
Please be careful when buying from this store. I have also attached photos for reference
It was around this time last year when I was dealing with Pantora Bridal. With everything going on with my wedding, I didn’t have a chance to write a review, but since I still reme...
mber this horror story like it was yesterday and need to share with current brides.
I had ten bridesmaids who each spent over $300 on dresses, and my experience with this company was nothing short of a disaster. For context, I traveled from North Carolina to New York to attend one of their showcase events because I wanted to see the dresses in person before making a final decision. After carefully selecting three colors: pearl, rose gold, and hot chocolate. I had my bridesmaids place their orders in November 2024, confident that we were getting exactly what I saw in person.
However, when the dresses arrived, the hot chocolate dresses were a completely different shade than what we originally saw in the store. After all the time, money, and planning that went into this, the last thing I expected was such a major discrepancy.
I reached out to Pantora Bridal to address the issue, hoping for a resolution. Instead, I was met with dismissive and unhelpful customer service. They offered no solutions and no discounts. However, they did allow us to return the dresses, but left me with only a month to find new dresses for my bridesmaids.
Since they refused to help over the phone, I had no choice but to fly back to New York to speak to someone in person. Even then, it was another frustrating experience where I had to suggest possible solutions myself while they remained uncooperative. The only option they offered was for me to change my wedding colors and choose from whatever display dresses they had in inventory, without offering any discount for these used dresses.
After returning home, I waited for a promised follow-up call from the manager, Kadine, which never came. So my fiancé and I followed up again. When we finally got her on the phone, she claimed there was a "dye lot issue" and insisted that this was clearly stated in a clause on their website. However, when we checked, there was no such clause. We immediately took screenshots of their website while on the call and emailed them proof that nothing about a "dye lot issue" was listed anywhere.
Kadine put us on hold for 15 minutes, and when she returned, she blatantly lied, and magically provided a screenshot of the website now showing the clause. They had obviously added the clause while we were on hold. The font, wording, and formatting were completely different from their other policies, making it clear that they had just inserted it to cover themselves.
To make matters worse, Kadine refused to let us speak to anyone above her, and when we attempted to reach out to the owner of the company via Instagram, we never received a response. In the end, we had to scramble to find a new vendor at the last minute to replace ten bridesmaid dresses, a stressful and expensive process. I never got to have the exact color scheme I originally envisioned. Brides, if you are considering Pantora Bridal, think twice. They do not care about customer satisfaction and take accountability for their mistakes. I would never recommend them to anyone. Save yourself the stress and disappointment!
I ended up going with Tatiana’s Bridal Boutique, and they were beyond amazing! They provide expedited shipping, garment bags and custom jewelry for my bridesmaids. They even sent me a special garment bag in the mail.
This was my 6th appointment and by far, here had the most beautiful gowns for this plus size bride. I did have to wait over 45 minutes for my appointment to start, though I was th...
e only customer there and at least 4 people were working, but I left with a beautiful dress Off the Rack. They didn't show me any veils or anything but... alas, I have a great dress!
If I could go back to August 2021 and slap myself for walking into Pantora Bridal, I would. Their motto is ‘representing the unrepresented in mainstream bridal’ and it should be ‘M...
ISTREATING the unrepresented in mainstream bridal”.
I flew to NYC from the West Coast to support this business and I’m so angry at myself because this has been a nightmare experience since the beginning. At the one month mark out from our wedding I flew out to NYC again to see my dress (after I paid for it) and it looks like the back alley chop shop knock off version of the luxurious dress I tried on all those months ago. The dress they made for me was something they should have been absolutely embarrassed to have represent their store and their brand. The gaslight queens who work here insisted the dresses were the same. They will not admit fault or apologize for dragging me along all these months only to end up with a disaster dress.
BLACK BRIDES DESERVE LUXURY. BLACK BRIDES DESERVE A STRESS-FREE SHOPPING EXPERIENCE. BLACK BRIDES DESERVE OPULENCE. Andrea Pitter-Campbell, what happened to celebrating the Black bride?!
After an unprecedented amount of back and forth with emails and phone calls (most went unanswered so I had to keep reaching out to them) they sold me the floor sample gown I tried on all those months ago. I received the dress in the mail two days ago, only to find out that they cut the train of the dress to almost half its original size without telling me.
They are doubling down and saying the train lengths are the same and that “I don’t know how to lay the fabric down”.
21 DAYS out from my wedding and this is the only option I have. Walking down the aisle in a used wedding dress from this “luxury” boutique was not the idea when I came all the way to NYC, but here we are. I don’t care if you are an out-of-state bride or a local bride, I would highly suggest you go elsewhere. Do not ignore the bad reviews like I did. Take your money, your time, and your dignity somewhere else.
These are the most memorable clothes you will ever wear so do not settle for anything less than the dream you were sold. You deserve the best.
HORRIBLE Experience Gown was beautiful but not exactly what I ordered. I picked up my gown less than 24 hours before my wedding I left Pantora Bridal around 8:30 PM the night befor...
e my 11 AM wedding I did three fittings Two of the fittings the week of my wedding the first fitting a little over a week before my wedding . IMS important appointments and had to cancel things I had to do before my wedding date because for eight months no one from Pantora Bridal could tell me when I would be able to pick up my gown someone finally called me back a few weeks before my wedding date After I had already made another appointment with Kleinfeld to look for another gown because I didn’t Know when my Pantora gown would be ready or if it would be ready in time for my wedding. Not to mention I live out of state. Still a lot of my pre-wedding appointments that I booked months before I had to cancel after I finally got my last minute alterations at Pantora bridal. I miss my hair nail appointment my last marriage counseling. And my rehearsal which was the day before my wedding which resulted in my order of ceremony being ruined. For 4,000 I think I should’ve got what I requested and I should’ve gotten my gown atleast 2 months before my wedding. So yes I spent the night before my wedding day at Pantora bridal fitting studio in tears. SMH
Dresses are beautiful but customer service is Horrible. There was no communication for months during the 8 months of production. No updates and no information given when I called. ...
I finally get close to 3 months to my wedding and call to make arrangements to pick up- only to not be able to pick up my dress, even though I was told I could. They want payment before you see the final product and fail to mention that they take 10 days to process payments,(which is insane especially since they only want card payments which approve or declined instantly). I was not told anything about shipping costs or the process for alterations for out of state brides- neither of which are on the website. Policies are not made clear and process information on alterations and shipping is not available on website or any emails prior to your dress being done. By the time I got my dress - almost 2 weeks after I planned, it arrived with a tear in a seam on the side and a stain on my overskirt. When I reached out to inform them they passed it off completely and took no responsibility. This has been such a headache and really disappointing to the point that I don’t want to wear my dress and represent this company on my special day. I would get another dress but because they don’t give refunds and I am now 2 months out I am stuck. I loved that they are black owned and have dresses that flatter curvy bodies but you can’t put a luxury price on a product and give lackluster customer service.
I had an amazing experience working with Pantora Bridal from the very first time I asked in their doors until my special day! I went to one other boutique and they were very pushy....
At Pantora they were not salesy. They were Service centric. I was able to customize every attribute of my dress and with their help, I created my dream dress. I had such a great experience that I ordered my bridesmaids dresses from them as well. The alterations process was seamless. They have an excellent and talented team! I would HIGHLY recommend this boutique!!!!!!!

fore all the attention is on you and making your dream dress special. They didn't just try and sell you a dress. I love that it was custom made just the way I wanted it. I hope to alter and wear it on my anniversary! I would recommend brides get the Pantora experience.
