We knew we wanted a band that could start – and keep – the party going. Papa C & The Slammin’ Horns absolutely, 110% exceeded our expectations and completely rocked it. When beginning to look for wedding bands, we asked our Facebook friends from across South Louisiana to share suggestions. As more and more friends, family and acquaintances weighed in, we noticed they were repeatedly recommending the same few bands, with Papa C & The Slammin’ Horns being a strong favorite. Leading up to our big day, Chris (aka Papa C) was super helpful in working with us and talking through how we wanted the reception to go and what the band’s role would be. Because we hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at the same venue, we were truly appreciative the band let us use their equipment (microphone and speakers) for the ceremony before they kicked off the party. Chris and the band also did an incredible job at everything in addition to the actual musical performance: introducing us and our first dance, inviting guests to come join on the dance floor, getting the bouquet toss to go smoothly and more. As for the music, this band is clearly full of professionals. Their talent showed on every song, and they did a great mix of all the hits you’d expect to hear at a wedding reception as well as some new favorites. They mixed genres and eras, making sure all our guests got the itch to go dance. At one point in the reception, we got a little caught up in taking posed pictures with out-of-town family. Noticing we had been absent from the dance floor for a bit, Chris came up to us, said the crowd was asking and lead us back to the party, a gesture we really appreciated. By the end of the night, our venue ran into a little trouble with a sound permit, and a neighbor complained about the noise. Rather than immediately shutting it down and cutting us off, they very professionally played it off into a quick second-line-style send off. We were really thankful they were able to adjust quickly and smoothly in a way that didn’t cause a problematic or lackluster end to the reception. The band does have some wedding footage you’ll find on YouTube and elsewhere online, but their social media presence and overall samplings of music online can’t truly convey how much fun this band is. The whole package is great — from the overall sound, mix of music and performance to the on-stage antics and ability to lead the party, Papa C & The Slammin’ Horns is hands-down, absolutely the band you want to book.

Papa C & the Slammin Horns were the absolute best! They played our wedding reception and it was exactly what we wanted – a fun, upbeat, funky band with a killer set list. The band was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire process from when we booked them through the end of the event. Chris was amenable to us selecting specific songs we did or did not want to have at our wedding, and they were even able to learn our first dance song for us. We were just a little nervous about dancing to a live version of the song as opposed to the recording we practiced to, but Papa C and the Horns were spot on and made it easy for us out there! Ultimately, the band was just perfect and they made sure our reception was a complete blast! Highly recommended!

Papa C MADE our reception! This 9 piece band is unbelievable, y’all! Chris, the leader of the band, was so awesome and communicated with me from before I even booked them! They crushed our first dance song to Louis Armstrong, and the horns made it even more unbelievably amazing. And the female vocalist...she can sing, y’all! It was so much fun and they were amazing! Thanks for exceeding our expectations!!

We used Papa C and the Slammin' Horns for our 4-hour wedding reception and they were AMAZING. We've been to several weddings in the New Orleans/Baton Rouge area and definitely felt pressure to have a band that would keep our 100-ish guests on the dance floor all night. Being "newer" on the Nola scene meant that Papa C delivered an incredible music experience to our guests for about 30% less money than what comparable bands of 8-10 pieces were charging. When you are investing in a band, the price tag can make you feel a lot of pressure to make the right choice. Not to mention the fact that a reception's vibe partly hinges on the band's level of entertainment. We are so grateful that Papa C was recommended to us by a wedding venue when we did a visit. They kept the party going all night long, made helpful suggestions about our timeline accommodating their breaks, and showed up on time and in the right place. Also, their female vocalist in particular was an amazing entertainer! The entire band really is! As a bride, the reception is a bit of a blur, but several friends commented that she and the whole band did Whitney Houston a lot of justice with their version of "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." Thanks Papa C and the Slammin' Horns for an awesome night. You won't regret booking them.

Papa C & the Slammin' Horns performed for our New Orleans wedding on November 18,2017. When I was wedding planning, I wanted 3 main things: good music, food, and venue. This band went beyond my expectations! All of our local and out-of-town guests kept complimenting our band after the wedding! Chris, the lead singer and MC, was very easy to work with and really listens to what his clients have to say. He remembers bits and pieces of personal information that you share with him, and incorporates them into his show. This makes for a nice touch! For example, he put my father-in-law and mother -in-law on stage when he played their favorite song. To say the least, we had a blast that night and made many happy memories ! This band is highly recommended. They will be performing for my friend's wedding in February 2017, and I cannot wait to see them again!

We didn't know a lot about any of the wedding bands in the area when we weren't putting together our wedding reception. The venue recommended Papa-C and it was a break that they did because it was one of the best decisions we make throughout the process. First off, this is a full, 9 piece band - there is nothing that isn't covered, - and everyone is really full of energy. Papa-C himself is bigger than life - and he has a great voice and a lot of stage presence. It's one less thing to worry about when you have a great sounding, fun band at your event - and these guys did not disappoint. On top of all that they were much less expensive than the other wedding bands we talked to - so if you are lucky enough to book these guys you'll get a terrific value.

Let me just start by saying that I believe the band has the ability to either make or break a wedding reception. So, it was very important that the band we chose for our day would be exceptional. We were blown away!! Papa C was everything we had hoped for. The band was so energetic and had the dance floor packed the entire night! Their set list was one of the reasons we chose them- and they did not disappoint with their song choices. They played the classics that everyone loves to dance to, they played some classic "New Orleans" songs, and also some more modern songs that were super fun. Cannot thank them enough for making our special night that much better!

They were amazing and everyone had so much fun!! They kept the dance floor full, and played a variety of songs. They were very flexible and easy to work with for a bride planning the wedding from out of town. The horn section was great and added the New Orleans flair that we really wanted.

My husband and I wanted a band that had a horn section, both male and female singers, and could play more modern music than the typical wedding songs....Papa C has all three. Everyone danced the entire night and had an absolute blast!! I would highly recommend Chris and his team!

BEST PART OF MY WEDDING!!!! The compliments about the band did not stop!! For weeks and weeks after the wedding everyone was talking about the band at our wedding. I could not be happier about their performance, and they are all really great people!! Even the wedding photographer wanted to recommend them to people because they were so good. Worth every penny and truly nice, kind, and honest people to work with. Hire them. Now.

Papa C made our wedding!! Music is so important at a New Orleans wedding, and Chris and the band did not disappoint - they were absolutely fantastic. They’re talented, professional, and affordable. They have such a great energy, and the brass gives them a local flavor. I have never seen so many people out on the dance floor at a wedding! Papa C was able to move seamlessly into playing our second line, which proved just how talented and versatile they are. Plus, Chris is such a kind and gracious person, and it was clear that he cared about getting to know me and my husband a bit before the wedding. He and the band put in a lot of personal touches, like adding our names into our first dance song and making sure to fit in all our favorite songs. Papa C really made our wedding special, and we could not have been happier.

WOW what an AWESOME band!!! We got married May 23rd in NOLA and Papa C played at our wedding. They rocked the house. My guest raved about how great they were. Chris was so easy to work with and professional. I sent him a last minute list of songs we wanted played and he accommodated. I feel so lucky to have had such an awesome band play at our wedding. Thank you Chris for a fantastic night!!

Papa C rocked our reception! They were amazing! Tons of our guests have told us they've never had so much fun at a wedding, and so much if that was because of the band. My husband and I agreed that the music would make or break the reception and took the responsibility of choosing the band very seriously. Affordable, professional, and patient with our endless preparation questions, we definitely recommend them! They created an energy that was infectious. I looked around the room multiple times during the night to find every guest on the dance floor! They couldn't have been better. I only hope I can see them perform again in the future!

Just returned from our daughter's fabulous wedding at Oak Alley Plantation. Everything was perfect from the venue to the food, but I have to say, the evening would not have been the same without Papa C and his Slammin' Horns. They were accommodating and professional throughout and they managed to get everyone out on the dance floor! It was a night we will never forget. Thank you Chris and the band!

Papa C & the Slammin' Horns made our wedding a huge success!! Not only did they sounds absolutely awesome, they made everyone at our wedding get up and dance from start to finish. I've had so many people mention that it was the best band and most fun wedding that they have ever been too, and I know that's a fact because by the time the reception was over, people weren't ready to leave :) Chris and the entire band were so accomodating and everything went flawless, they truly exceeded our expectations in every aspect.

This was the first time I had ever seen Papa C & the Slammin' Horns and I absolutely was blown away. They were true to their name...what a slammin' reception! Everyone was out on the dance floor the whole time. Just last night, I had dinner with bride and groom and most of the bridal party to look at wedding pictures and all we could talk about was how the band was so great and really made the night enjoyable. This is now my first band recommendation to anyone I know getting married. I loved them so much I took the whole family to catch them at the King Cake Festival at the Superdome. So much fun!
