Shayla was the absolute sweetest! She made me look and feel so beautiful and captured the perfect look that I was going for! Very professional and punctual (she was all set up before I even got to the bridal suite!). I highly recommend Paper Dolls, especially Shayla! The team was absolutely amazing! I am not usually someone who knows makeup and what works and they worked with me to make sure what I was envisioning came to life with both hair and makeup. They were incredible personable and all my bridesmaids were in love with their hair and makeup as well.

From the day she did my makeup trial for my engagement photos, to the day she did my wedding makeup and hair—she is incredibly talented and knows how to make the whole process fun and stress-free. I was a little worried when looking for a makeup artist since I am of a different ethnicity and in the past I’ve had issues with my makeup being too light or looking artificial—but with Shayla, my makeup was flawless and natural like I wanted it. My wedding was 8/24/19 and finally I am just getting around to writing reviews! It is important to me to call out what amazing work Paper Dolls does for brides and bridal parties! I absolutely loved my wedding hair and makeup, done by Carrie who helped work with me to get my look just as I envisioned! Paper Dolls was amazing and so patient with each of the girls in the group. Everyone looked so beautiful! The makeup and hair crew worked efficiently to get through all of us (there were 10 bridesmaids!!), plus both mothers, and myself. Everyone looked so fabulous and I could not be more grateful for such a hardworking crew! I would highly recommend them!!!

I am so happy I found Paper Dolls! The entire process from start to finish was such a breeze! Carrie and her assistant did an incredible job on my bridesmaids and me. They were prompt, professional, and very courteous. I felt like they took into consideration what my bridesmaids wanted, and they made it happen! They had to work on 7 people in my bridal suite, and they ended up finishing early on us! Mind you, several of my bridesmaids had really long hair! I told Carrie what I wanted to do with my hair, I showed her makeup and hair inspirations, and dang if she didn't almost make me look like the picture! I never had to adjust or ask for any modifications, I thought everything was perfect just the way she did it. Although, if I did have any suggestions, she was eager to hear them and she definitely made sure that I was happy with the finished look. Three of the most amazing ladies did our hair and make up for my sister wedding this past Saturday! All three were amazing and did spectacular jobs! Very professional and are wonderful artist! I had to plan a last minute wedding on Kiawah Island due to COVID and was stressed to say the least. I recommended Paper Dolls and am SO grateful I used them. Carrie and her team were incredible. We were unable to do a hair/make up trial beforehand, but she was able to do my vision and was so patient when I had changes. :) Every woman at my wedding were thrilled with how they looked. I hardly have the words to describe what an AMAZING job Carrie did on my wedding day! Despite never having met her beforehand (our wedding was small and we worked with an incredible elopement planner who booked Carrie for us), she knew just what to do for hair and makeup for both me and my MOH/sister. WOW! Just WOW! My daughter connected with Carrie of Paper Dolls through her exceptional wedding planners, Pure Luxe Brides. Carrie met with her to do a trial hair and make-up session July 2019 then again in March 2020 for her bridal portraits. She was so supportive and flexible when the wedding was delayed from May to July 12th due to Covid. She and Shayla arrived promptly the morning of the wedding to do the hair and make-up for my daughter and her five bridesmaids. They were attentive to every detail and so personable! Their work is impeccable. The ladies were stunning! I highly recommend Paper Dolls without reservation!!

I ended up not going with Paper Dolls for my wedding hair & makeup simply due to different styles BUT I did decide to get 7 clip-in extensions to help my curls hold and last longer and Shayla matched my hair perfectly!! Shayla was an absolute sweetheart to work with!

I'm so glad I hired Paper Dolls for my wedding hair/make-up. Carrie did mine and I could not have been happier. From our first emails back and forth, she was extremely responsive and professional. At our trial, she did not finish until we got the exact look I was going for. She kept showing me my make-up and made small adjustments as we went. I was always so nervous how my look would turn out all put together on my big day but it was 100% what I envisioned. I truly felt gorgeous. You can tell she is extremely experienced and confident in her skills, and the end product shows! The airbrush make-up lasted all evening and I got SO many compliments! My bridesmaids that got hair and make-up all looked amazing as well. Seriously hire Carrie, you will not regret it.

Carrie and team did a FANTASTIC job on my bridal and bridesmaids' hair and makeup for our wedding. Everyone looked natural but gorgeous. Due to a medical issue, the makeup artist who I had done my trial with was unable to make our wedding day. Since we were not local to Charleston and unable to do a 2nd trial, Carrie herself went above and beyond to come to do my makeup after another wedding she'd already had booked. It looked even better than the inspiration photos I showed her. 100% perfect. Kelly did the bridesmaids' makeup and they all looked amazing. Kristin did our hair and did a wonderful job. All the ladies were on time, responsive, extremely friendly and we had a blast getting ready with this team.

Paper Dolls came highly recommended by both our wedding planner and photographer, so I decided to book with them. I did not do a hair and makeup trail before the wedding (simply to save money), so I was a little worried that I wouldn't get exactly what I was picturing on wedding day. As soon as Carrie arrived I knew I had nothing to worry about! She is a true professional and really knows what she's doing. She's very focused on her work but was also a lot of fun to have around. I showed her one picture of what I was thinking for my hair, and she nailed it. My makeup was outstanding - I wanted a natural, enhanced look, and she could not have made it more perfect. All of my bridesmaids looking amazing and loved their hair (not easy for a group of 7 women). One of the most amazing things about Carrie's work is that my hair held ALL day. She finished my hair well before noon, and it still looked perfect when the reception ended at 11:00 (and I danced A LOT). Multiple people commented to me after the wedding that they couldn't believe how good my hair looked all night. I could not recommend Carrie more highly!

I was referred to Shayla and Paper Dolls from my wedding planner and I knew from my first phone call with Shayla that I was going to enjoy working with her. I had my first trial with Shayla over 6 months before my wedding - I showed her pictures of hair and makeup that I liked and she executed it perfectly. I wasn’t sure how soft I wanted the makeup to be (I knew I didn’t want dark Smokey eyes) but she made sure to pause several times throughout to make sure it was exactly what I wanted. Even with the hair trial, she put in my extensions and showed me the look as she was creating it to incorporate any adjustments. I was appreciative of that since many hair and makeup artists I’ve had in the past just wait until the end. A few months before the wedding I was having second thoughts about my hair style (since I was thinking updo instead of down) and Shayla was great about helping me book a second trial to make sure I was happy with it a few days before the wedding. I LOVED the new hairstyle. Originally I was going to do a transition where I took out the bottom part of the updo to have a second hairstyle, but I loved the updo so much that I decided to keep it for the whole day! The day of the wedding I was so impressed with how efficient Shayla and Allie were with getting all of my girls through hair and makeup, even through all of the girls getting distracted by prosecco, going outside, and dealing with dress mishaps. I was SO blown away by how amazing my hair and makeup turned out the day of my wedding! I didn’t think it was possible but it turned out even better than the trials and Shayla created my “Bridal glow”. I wish I was local to Charleston because I would go to Shayla for all of my hair and makeup needs in the future! Highly recommend!

I could NOT be happier with Carrie and the girls at Paper Dolls. Looking at our sneak peek photos, all I can say is WOW!!! They have a GIFT. Carrie sat with me for hours at my house for my trial while FIVE of my family members watched the entire time - with a smile on her face the entire time! She was incredibly easygoing, patient and had great suggestions. I ended up selecting a hairstyle that I never thought I'd go with initially, and I was SO happy with it that I actually started crying! She and the whole team had the best attitudes all day and were constantly smiling, which is so important, because that takes up a lot of the bridesmaids' day. I am over the moon with all of the services received by PaperDolls! First, one of my bridesmaids and I received a spray tan three days prior to the wedding from Sierra - neither of us have ever spray tanned before and were a little apprehensive of the tell-tale orange spray tanned look, but we were blown away! The color was perfect, and looked so very natural. I then did my hair and makeup trial with Carrie the day of the rehearsal (I was an out of town bride so this was the only timing that worked for me) and I was so elated with the finished product. The airbrush makeup is so light and weightless, I had full coverage but didn't feel like it at all! I also love Carrie's approach to false eyelashes - she cuts them so that they feel and look more natural, no edges coming up at the inner corners! Then, on my wedding day, Sierra did four bridesmaids and two moms up-dos and they looked stunning - each was complimentary to their hair type and style. Carrie did makeup for the same group and everyone was so thrilled with the final product. She really listened to what each bridesmaid/mom wanted, while also being in tune with their natural color palattes. Carrie then did my hair and makeup, and covered up three tattoos, and I was once again blown away. Shayla was the best addition to my wedding day. I don't wear a lot of makeup and I had already done one trial where I felt way over done so I was losing hope. Shayla made me look and feel gorgeous. She was so relaxed, listened to everything I wanted and made changes without any judgement based on my requests. I'm 35 and didn't want to look 25. I truly have never felt as beautiful as on my wedding day and she deserves all of the credit. My bridesmaids and flower girls (my nieces) felt so comfortable with her and we all enjoyed having her in the suite as we got ready. I wish she could make me look that good everyday :)

I can't say enough about Carrie at Paper Dolls! She did such a great job. She responded quickly and was very flexible. She did my bridal portraits hair/makeup as my trial and she also came and did my hair for my rehearsal! On the wedding day they were on time and brought all of their stuff. She had one other stylist with her and they not only did my hair/makeup and my mom's hair/makeup, but 6 bridesmaids and 2 flower girl's hair. She also made time to come to my venue after my first looks for touch ups! They did a great job at matching my pinterest pictures I showed them. I plan on booking Carrie again for future events!!

I hired Paper Dolls for my wedding hair and make up and my bridesmaids. I had a great experience with Carrie from start to finish! She came to my house for my trial Hair and make up, and understood what I wanted and delivered that, and was accommodating to any changes I wanted for the wedding day. Scheduling my makeup was so smooth with Carrie and she was able to choose a great makeup artist for my party. When we started planning our Memorial Day weekend wedding last summer, I immediately hired PaperDolls for mine the Bridal party’s hair and makeup. I was a Bridesmaid the year prior in my friend’s wedding and they did an outstanding job! Jami did my makeup for my engagement session at Boone Hall. I had to travel into town the night before and stay at a hotel nearby to be at the site early for a sunrise session. Jami was more than willing to come bright and early to my hotel (6:30 AM). I was a little nervous about the early hour and potentially being late to my session but she was on time and even offered to bring me a cup of coffee from the lobby! I showed her a picture for inspiration and she NAILED it! She was super sweet and easy to talk to during the process and the pictures turned out incredible! I definitely recommend booking her for your Charleston wedding (we live in Charlotte otherwise we would have as well)!

Shayla and her team were AMAZING!! Shayla did my hair and makeup for the big day and it was perfection. I look back at the pictures and our video and am just so in love with how my hair and make up turned out. I also love how my bridesmaids turned out as well. Their style is very natural, upping your hair/make a step where it looks glamorous but you still look yourself. They nailed it too! Shayla can also just do anything. For my trial I did another hair style, which looked just like the picture I showed her, so I knew if I changed styles for my wedding day, Shayla could do it no problem. And she did! Looked just like the inspiration pictures I had. EVERYONE commented on how much my hair and makeup looked so good. If you want to look incredible and yourself, hire them right now!!

I can't begin to tell you how amazing my experience was with Carrie and the Paper Doll's team. After initially having a traumatizing experience with another beauty salon, Carrie ensured me that would not happen to me again. Beth and Alyssa were both incredible. They came to my apartment for my hair and make up trial then came to the hotel I was staying the day of my wedding. Beth and Alyssa we're not just personable and great ladies to chat with, Alyssa nailed my make up as did Beth with my hair. I felt absolutely beautiful on the day of my wedding. I can't thank Beth. Shayla did both my hair and makeup for my May 2016 engagement shoot and after that, I knew I had to book her for our May 2017 wedding; her work is amazing! One of my favorite things about this group is that they will come on location; it was so relaxing to know that myself and my girls could just wake up in our getting ready house and get all dolled up there. PaperDolls - Wedding Hair & Makeup made all of bridesmaids, mom's and myself feel so beautiful and comfortable on the day of the wedding. We didn't have to start hair make-up until 11am because they are so efficient and they really made the day enjoyable! Not to mention they made me fall in love with airbrush again after a poor experience. Shayla and her team at Paper Dolls were awesome. I did my trial run for my hair and make up in December for our wedding in March. I showed Shayla pictures of what I liked and she was able to create the exact look I wanted. When she came to our hotel rooms on the wedding day, she created that look again to perfection! There was a change of plans when my original stylist had a medical emergency and could no longer work on my wedding day, but stylist Shayla stepped up and handled it with the utmost professionalism.
