My husband and I had a very small Friday afternoon wedding at the courthouse and Amy did a fantastic job. We had a short engagement (engaged in December 2023 and married in April 2024!) but Amy was fine with the short notice and we even managed to fit an engagement session in 1 month before the wedding. Amy was a pleasure to work with and was super prepared! She put on my husband’s boutonnière, helped my sister pin me into my dress, and had all the emergency essentials in her bag. She made everyone feel comfortable and taking our wedding pictures was so much fun! The pictures themselves are amazing, we couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. I would highly recommend Paperbird Photography to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

Amy is an absolutely incredible one woman show. She seamlessly blended in for our small wedding while always being available to gently give the best tips and recommendations for getting ready and posing. What sets Amy apart from the rest is her incredible warmth and but also her speed! She is just SO sweet and helpful without overstepping. She took all of the requested photos efficiently and gave us time to enjoy our guests. I was amazed at how quickly she got us a large handful of sneak peak photos after our wedding. She is an absolute pleasure to work with.

Amy is simply the best. A photographer’s work speaks for itself and just our preview of photos has left us speechless. The price point for the quality of work from this artist is absolutely crazy to me! As the advice goes, don’t cheap out on a wedding photographer but Amy also didn’t break our budget while providing the most stunning photos. I would add to this photography advice and say pick a photographer you personally like and vibe with because they spend your entire wedding day with you and spending my day with Amy was the absolute best. She is so kind, professional, patient and fun and both my husband and I truly saw her as a friend. I was so beyond anxious on my wedding day and her calm demeanor kept my mind at ease and surprisingly relaxed during photographs. On top of that, I have always considered myself as a “not photogenic person” but somehow in these preview photos I am??? I am amazed and it just speaks to her talent. Amy stayed with us well past her time with us to ensure she captured the perfect shots and it meant the world to us. She is always welcome to hangout with our friends and I do consider her a friend and will forever use her for our future photography needs.

Stop what you are doing right now and send Amy an email. She is the loveliest person and so talented at what she does. I met her about thirty seconds after my surprise proposal as she hid in the bushes of the Smithsonian castle. An early snow had fried all the blooms and threatened to spoil the surprise, but luckily Amy was willing to travel with us to the Arboretum to catch the surviving blooms. It was a no-brainer when it came to our engagement shoot a year later when the blooms were out in full. Amy's composition is impeccable, and she has a true talent in getting us smiling and laughing and natural. We'll have these photos as treasured memories forever.

I’m not sure Amy knew what she was getting into agreeing to capture our day.. But she took it and ran with it. Our family is loud, fun, wild, loving and supportive on both sides. She captured just enough “Brunswick” and a little bit of Pennsylvania twang; in the classiest most beautiful ways imaginable. Amy did so good at capturing everyone organically but also “sweetly” idk how else to put it. Genuinely, seeing myself in so many beautiful pictures was a great confidence boost. BOOK HER.

This is long overdue and it just so happens to be our 1 year wedding anniversary! Amy and Caroline did a wonderful job capturing our engagement photos at the Hillwood Estate gardens and our wedding at the Willard Intercontinental hotel in Washington D.C. Amy and Caroline were extremely organized and very patient, especially working with the other vendors that we had and of course adding a level of calmness to our wedding day. They were very accommodating, presented a timeline and made sure Steve and I were happy. Look no further, everyone! Amy and Caroline were absolutely fantastic. I specifically picked them based on a photo they did of another wedding at our venue, and I knew they were exactly what I was looking for. I am not an engagement shoot kind of person, so instead we met for a drink near our venue and hashed out what we wanted. On the day of, they coached us through everything and didn't miss a shot. The only caveat I have is that their editing timeline is long -- 40 to 60 business days. This didn't bother me, however, and it was worth it to have an online, USB and some print-outs in the sweet little keepsake box they provide.

Caroline and Amy rock! They are exceptionally talented and made us look amazing. My husband and I loved working with them, as did our wedding parties. They are very professional, but also creative and fun - they surprised us with a late night photo shoot involving smoke bombs and confetti cannons on our New Year’s Eve wedding! We felt (and honestly still feel) like movie stars. It was such a breeze to work with them, too. They were easily one of our best choices for our wedding. As wedding photographers ourselves, choosing photographers for our own wedding was a very important decision. But choosing Paperbird was a no-brainer. Caroline and Amy work so fluidly together like they were destined to do this their entire lives! We barely noticed them throughout the wedding day, yet they captured hundreds and hundreds of photos of amazing moments, half of which we don't remember because the day flew by. Their style is so timeless, and they were extremely organized and responsive throughout the entire process. Without one single shred of doubt, Paperbird was THE BEST decision we made for our wedding. Photography was the number one priority for us, so we met with several photographers before making a decision. Amy and Caroline 1000% stood out immediately, and we walked away from our initial meeting with them feeling a combination of excited and relieved that we had found exactly who we were looking for. A quick few bullets/highlights: - We are a gay couple and though DC is a liberal city, as we all know, meeting with wedding vendors can feel a bit daunting or frightening when you are not sure how people will personally react. Amy and Caroline immediately made us feel right at ease and were very warm and welcoming to us, our friends, and our families. - I said this earlier but it is worth repeating. Amy and Caroline have superior technical skills and did amazingly to find the right lighting at every point of the day. - They are extremely creative and artistic. They made our engagement session and wedding day feel special and different. It felt very tailored to us and unique. We did not at all feel like we were getting generic shots. - They got so many amazing candid pictures that we did not even expect. - They accommodated every crazy request we made and made time for every type of group shot we wanted. - They have very calm and kind personalities but were still great at wrangling/dealing with our crazy friends and families. - They exerted the time and effort necessary to make our final photos flawless. I cannot repeat enough how amazing of an experience it was working with Paperbird. We would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Great photographers! We heard about Paperbird through a friend, and booked them for our engagement and wedding. They were very responsive and flexible to our plans, and spent the entire day with us. They got great shots (including some artsy ones with affects) that included serious wedding shots as well as fun party shots. They didn't intrude on the wedding (I've seen photographers get in between brides and grooms to get the 'perfect' shot) but still got great angles. About a month after our wedding they sent us a wood box containing ~25 high quality prints of their favorite photos along with a flashdrive containing both original (high) resolution and web resolution photos (I didn't count, but >500 images). They also sent a link to a site containing all of our photos in high res that we can share with our families. No getting watermarked proofs and then having to pay to download or print. Can't recommend them enough. Thanks Amy & Caroline!

Washington DC will always hold a special place in my heart and I love filming weddings here! One of the recent ones I have filmed at the W Washington DC and I enjoy every time I get to work at this wedding venue. The couple had a wonderful wedding with an outstanding reception party. The happy newlyweds are the two friendliest and easy-going people! No wonder that the photographers they have chosen were just the same. Pictures are hands down THE most important part of your wedding. With that said, don’t look anywhere else when it comes to photographers, Paperbird Photography is the best choice. Both Amy and Caroline, have a soft spoken way of capturing all the beauty of your wedding. Whatever picture you want, they will snap it! I did a lot of comparing between photographers and hands down, they offer the best package that no other photographers did. From the moment you start putting on your make up; all the special moments in between, to the very last dance as a married couple, Amy and Caroline are there up front and center snapping all of you with your loved ones. One thing that I enjoyed working with them is that they really like the idea of doing your engagement shoot. My husband and I weren’t so keen at first at doing one but I am so glad that we did. It was a great chance for Amy and Caroline to get to know us as a couple and it was overall, a great way of practicing having your picture taken for a long period of time. When receiving those pictures from our engagement shoot, I was completely floored and knew that our wedding pictures were in amazing hands. The wedding gallery we received from them, with all of the beautifully edited photos were completely stunning. At no point throughout going through the pictures did I say, “I didn’t like that”, they truly caught everything I could have asked for. In addition to receiving our digital wedding gallery, Amy and Caroline send the most beautiful wooden box with a USB of all of your photos. The cutest keepsake! Paperbird Photography was lovely to work with! They were professional, responsive, and so personable! My husband and I were married at Bluemont Vineyard near Leesburg, a place they had not been to previously. We ended up meeting a few months before the wedding so they could scope out the place. Throughout the whole process, they were responsive to all of my questions. We had a detailed photography plan for the big day. Pictures were executed flawlessly. We have so many gorgeous couple photos, posed and candid, including a wide range of locations throughout the property. They had scouted locations before so it was easy to get right to portraits and family photos after the ceremony. After the wedding, they send a personalized box with prints, a USB, and a very thoughtful note included, in a gorgeous wooden keepsake box. It made it so easy so I didnt have to order every print I wanted! All my favorites were already included! I would definitely recommend Paperbird to other brides! They truly captured the happiness of the day.

Hire Paperbird Photography! You won't regret it! Amy and Caroline are the BEST. Vendor wise, wedding photography was my number one priority. As someone who didn't have a photography degree, I was being unreasonably picky about my photographers. Fortunately, Amy and Caroline do have photography degrees and oh man oh man, it shows in their work. Their work is thoughtfully composed and beautiful. Plus, they are so easy to get along with--- funny and a blast to be around! We felt completely at ease with the pair, despite the new/unfamiliar experience of getting photos professionally done. I love how they were willing to roll with whatever I threw at them. Our engagement session was shot at an "unconventional" location. With the wrong photographers, it could have looked cheesy and awful. Paperbird took my Dinosaurland location (it's exactly what it sounds like), and captured the greatest engagement photos of all time. One friend told me that despite hating everything wedding related on social media, our blog photos were the only ones he ever scrolled all the way through (this was the greatest wedding-related compliment I could ever hope to receive from this person, not joking). Our engagement photos were quirky and charming vs creepy and weird, and it's all thanks to Paperbird. Amy and Caroline were just as, if not more, fantastic on the wedding day. They were there the whole day-- from the getting ready photos until the big send off. They captured everything I wanted and everything I didn't know I wanted. Again, we had another "unconventional" location featuring a lot of street art. Amy and Caroline flexed their creative muscles, and delivered really rad wedding portraits! Having Amy and Caroline document my wedding was the best decision I made in the planning process. I'm thrilled to have met them, and even more thrilled with my photos that I'll treasure forever.

I can't recommend Paperbird highly enough - hiring Amy & Caroline to photograph our wedding was one of the best decisions we made.
