Overall:
Our experience with the Park Hyatt was lackluster in hospitality and at times stressful through event mismanagement from Park Hyatt. The hotel experience was disappointin...
g. Separately, the banquet team was phenomenal and we would like to thank that group.
Check in process:
When checking in for our wedding weekend, the front desk could not find our reservation, also saying it was canceled. The wedding coordinator was phoned and eventually we were checked in.
The front desk did not offer to assist with carrying bags to our room, or show us where the lift to the rooms were located.
Check in process (new suite):
We were informed our Georgetown suite was available. We went to the check in counter to get the room keys, and the associate excused themselves because they had to ask “if it was OK that we checked in this early.” This was only disappointing to us, as it doesn’t seem anyone oversaw our hotel stay. This was included as part of our wedding package.
Blue Duck Tavern:
The restaurant is easy and has a good team. During our stay, we only felt special by the staff at BDT, specifically Justin and Rajee. They were the only ones to congratulate us on our wedding the entire weekend.
Information needed day of:
Our group was alerted two hours before the wedding that clarification was needed regarding guests allergies and menu choices. This information was clearly provided to the wedding coordinator in email, and we even asked if any further information was needed from us. This caused us significant stress, distractions, and doubt.
At least one guest was served the meat/ fish as a vegetarian. We understand mistakes can happen, and appreciate the attendant’s acknowledgement and quick remedy. We are disappointed this happened, especially as we had to resend this exact information hours before. How was this missed, twice?
Wedding cake:
My partner and I inquired about our printed wedding menu on Thursday. Through proof reading, we realized our cake recipe was missing an ingredient - blueberry. We quickly phoned our wedding coordinator, who mentioned she forgot to communicate “they weren’t able to get them in.” You can imagine our shock, learning this 24 hours from our wedding.
To us, the cake was incredibly important and the result was immeasurably embarrassing. We would have never ordered this cake if this was the result. Three blueberries on the side of the cake is not the best from the Blue Duck Tavern.
Cake from reception to room:
My partner and I weren’t able to find a moment to eat cake so we asked if it could a slice can be packaged for our room. The attendants prepared two slices, with napkins and two forks. Unfortunately, the forks were each dirty. We want to clearly share we did not eat our wedding cake because of our continued disappointment.
Late check out inquiry:
We visited the front desk to inquire about a late check out. The associate asked us how long we wanted to stay, and stated it was an additional fee of $50 USD an hour. We asked to stay until 1 PM and the associate said that was available as a complimentary option. As the grooms staying at the hotel of our wedding, we were surprised this was not offered proactively.
We had an amazing small ceremony in November 2020 and a beautiful reception in December 2021 at the Park Hyatt. Devon and the team were extremely helpful, responsive, and flexible ...
as we made several changes and updates to our wedding plans. The food and drinks were incredible and our guest felt spoiled. The location of the Park Hyatt can't be beat--no need for additional transportation and it is easy for guests to see DC. If you're looking for a gorgeous, modern venue that isn't stuffy or stereotypically "Washington, DC", then Park Hyatt is the place for you.
Do yourself a favor, and have your dream wedding at the Park Hyatt! Not only is the venue ideal for a perfect wedding, the team is absolutely incredible. Devon and Sarah were beyon...
d helpful in answering any and all questions we had, and their response time was always immediate. Food and cake were amazing as well - our guests two weeks out are still talking about it. The Park Hyatt will go to any and all lengths to make sure your day is perfect. We are so happy we chose this as our venue!

t team has weddings down to perfection. For someone who is constantly worrying about every detail, I had nothing to worry about and all the time to actually enjoy my wedding day! Michael (former Director of Events) helped us bring our vision to life and was super supportive during the entire planning process. Amanda helped pull everything together working up to the big day and acting as our day of coordinator. She was there for us the entire day and made sure everything was executed flawlessly. We can't thank everyone at the Park Hyatt enough!
It was a perfect storm of cuisine and service! The catering is supplied by the chef of the Blue Duck Tavern, so we knew that the food would be a hit! But then having every aspect ...
of the planning and execution supervised by Catering Director Michael Deltette was more than you could ever ask for from even the most prestigious of wedding planners. And to top it off, the wedding cake is included in the price! Michael and staff makes sure that your day is the most special it can be!
Oh, my goodness...the service at this place is absolutely PHENOMENAL!!! They are leaps and bounds ahead of any venue I have ever been to for a wedding. Everytime we would visit the...
hotel we were greeted by every single person working there. Michael (catering director) has VERY high standards and will absolutely make sure everything and everyone is perfect for your big day. He used to be a wedding planner so he is very knowledgable and will help you with everything - even getting you dressed! We left all of our escort cards, framed photos, and everything for him to set up for us before the reception. And the food...we had so many compliments on the food, especially the lamb and it was provided by Blue Duck Tavern, their award winning restaurant. Our guets told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! The cocktail area is gorgeous - very loungy and modern compared to other hotels/venues which was what we were looking for...you will not find this at any other hotel (trust me, we looked)!

ng day was perfect. We have received so many compliments on how delicious the food was, including the in-house made cake. They truly exceeded our expectations.
The Park Hyatt completed a renovation of its already beautiful ballroom level in September 2011. I looked at almost every hotel in D.C., including the Ritz, Four Seasons, etc. but ...
there is something unique about the Park Hyatt that makes it feel different than every other hotel ballroom. The modern elegant decor is gorgeous and the complimentary draping and complimentary chivari chairs are also a plus. Gave a fabulous group rate for guests. Their event coordinator Michael is a dream to work with - absolutely no need for a wedding planner. The rest of the staff is also very attentive. I am a perfectionist and notice every single detail and the Park Hyatt had everything perfectly in place and taken care of the day of the wedding. All of our friends and family loved the venue! The food was also fabulous and tasted just like it did at our tasting. Usually at most weddings the cocktail hour is so much better than the entree because it is hard to mass produce good food, but their chef is amazing...as is their pastry chef- our wedding cake tasted and looked incredible!
We worked with Michael Deltette at the Park Hyatt. He, as well as the entire staff at the hotel, were amazing. We hosted our reception in their ballroom. The food is prepared by...
the same kitchen that prepares meals at the Blue Duck Tavern, and it was delicious. Everything was perfect, we had absolutely no problems on our wedding day. I would recommend using this hotel for any event, but for a wedding, it was the perfect choice.
