He was completely open to playing both our Spanish and English playlists. He kept the energy up all night, followed our wedding timeline perfectly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Our guests absolutely loved him and had an amazing time on the dance floor! We received so many compliments about the music and how much fun everyone had. We loved working with Omar and couldn't have been happier with our experience. We would definitely book him again for any future event and highly recommend him to anyone looking for an incredible DJ!

She works closely with the wedding planner/day-of coordinator to make sure I get up-to-date information throughout the night (announcements, last-minute changes, etc), She focuses on the logistics, while I focus on the music. In other words, she's my wife, and she tells me what to do.
- Omar Parkes aka DJ O.POwnerI was born and raised in Bloomfield, CT. I am a first-generation American with Jamaican roots on both sides of my family. I have a lifelong passion for all kinds of music which gives me a unique perspective on how to entertain diverse crowds. Parkes Entertainment is a family business. My wife handles most of the wedding consultations, my 2 sons provide the manpower for lifting heavy equipment, I do all the DJing and my daughter and granddaughter spend all of our profits :-) Weddings are our favorite event to do because we love, LOVE!
- Nathan ParkesAssistantNathan, my oldest son, is the muscle. You can find him lifting heavy equipment, taping up wires, etc. He is more present in non-wedding events, but he makes rare appearances sometimes.
- Anthony ParkesAssistantAnthony is my youngest son. He is muscle #2. His appearance at weddings is even more rare than his older brother's (as they get older, their time becomes increasingly more expensive). But he is just as helpful with the equipment and organization of things.

d thorough in answering all of my questions. He provided a well-organized information sheet that made planning the music and MC announcements simple and stress-free.
The week before the wedding, we met to go over our ideas, which really helped bring everything together. On the day of, Omar and his wife Toni arrived on time and created the perfect atmosphere for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Omar kept the energy high and had guests of all ages on the dance floor all night. He was also flexible and quick to adjust the music if needed, making sure everything flowed seamlessly.
I would highly recommend Parkes Entertainment for any wedding or event.

From the diverse music selection that had guests from all over the world dancing, to the seamless transitions between genres and cultures, he made everyone feel included and celebrated.
What truly stood out, beyond the amazing music, was his calm and professional presence. Weddings can be chaotic at times, but Omar brought a steady, positive energy that kept the vibe just right all evening. He was incredibly easy to work with, punctual, prepared, and totally in sync with the tone we were going for.

ut is the music or MC. The biggest thing we appreciated about Omar was his ability to read the room. Whether it’s telling guests cocktail hour is open or directing everyone to hit the dance floor, Omar has it covered.
He also has a wide range of music from classical ceremony music to pop hits to hip hop to reggae. Whatever your musical taste is, Omar knows how to mix it. Not only can he mix it, he can tell what the people are feeling and stay in that lane to keep the party going.
