About this vendor

Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion is an estate venue located in North Bennington, VT. This elegant Victorian mansion features Second Empire and Romantic Revival architectural styles and many of its original features have been preserved. Dating back to 1865, this beautiful estate offers a romantic and timeless setting for unforgettable weddings. Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion is one of the best-preserved examples of Victorian architecture in Vermont. It was designed by Henry Dudley, an architect with the Diaper and Dudley firm in New York. Trenor W. Park, a lawyer and businessman, commissioned the mansion to move his family from California to Vermont. His daughter, Lizzie, and her husband John McCullough later inherited the house and renovated it, and it largely remains the same today. The estate is spread over 200 acres of pristine parkland and gardens and features elegant outdoor and indoor event spaces. The immaculately manicured gardens offer a scenic setting for a magical wedding ceremony. Guests can enjoy the historic charm of the mansion during cocktail hour on the veranda. Later, newlyweds and their guests can retire to the 19th-century Carriage Barn for a reception with dining and dancing. When you marry at Park-McCullough Historic Governor’s Mansion, you can avail of exclusive access to the property throughout your event. You and your guests can enjoy the mansion, gardens, and surrounding acreage in private for your special day. The venue’s events team is happy to tailor your experience to suit your needs. Whether you are hosting an intimate elopement or an extravagant celebration, they can accommodate weddings of many sizes. They offer several all-inclusive base packages and many enhancements to bring your matrimonial dreams to life.

We were looking for a venue that combined beautiful, old world historic charm with the rustic, relaxed vibe we wanted for our wedding. Park-McCullough was perfect in every way. We...

were sold the moment we stepped onto the mansion’s gorgeous grounds, strolled through the beautiful gardens and strolled along the spacious covered veranda. The grounds, gardens, mansion and carriage house offer a huge variety of locations and options for each part of your wedding day. When some unexpected rain threw a wrench in our ceremony plans, we were able to shift gears and hold our ceremony on the expansive covered veranda, which turned out to be even more intimate and memorable than our original plan. The breathtaking photos of our wedding day captured both the historic interior and exterior of the venue, showcasing all the beautiful details that made us fall in love with the space. We also need to give a shoutout to Polly and her staff who patiently answered so many of our questions and was never anything but extremely kind and professional, even when plans changed multiple times and we asked so much of her. Our guests loved exploring and spending time at this historic venue and we loved being able to support a non-profit museum preserving such a unique piece of Vermont history. We can’t wait to continue visiting Park-McCullough over the years to remember the best day of our lives.

I just attended a wedding at Park McCullough and it could not have been a more beautiful day! The grounds are beautiful and the history adds an extra layer of interest. There wa...

s a ceremony in the garden, and drinks and appetizers on the veranda, and tours of the mansion. The pictures of the bride and groom were stunning. Just a short distance away are local trails through farmland and incredible views. The village of North Bennington is charming, but easy to get to. Not to mention Chris and Jeanne are so friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

My wife and I had our wedding reception in the Carriage house at PMH and it was absolutely fantastic. We were able to enjoy both the Mansion and the Carriage house and the scenery ...

was beyond our expectations. There was plenty of room for the kids to explore, and the flower arrangements were beautiful. As for the carriage house, it had ample room for our entire party, and we could not have asked for a better place to celebrate our union with those that loved us and supported us the most.

We got married at PMH in June 2019, and it was the perfect vintage garden party! Ceremony on the front steps, dinner in the garden, and dancing in the carriage barn, plus historic ...

house tours for the guests. You barely need any decor, the venue itself is so beautiful.

I was featured in this post so many times, I feel compelled to leave my review! Such a beautiful location; from the ceremony in the garden to the photos all around the grounds to t...

he reception in the barn. My wedding coordinator was such a huge help at every turn. I had to change our dinner plans sort of at the last minute and she had a ton of great recommendations that fit our budget and our “vibe” for the day. She helped turn a potential nightmare into a minor hiccup. We ended up catering the cocktail hour & bar with a local caterer and got a pizza truck from the Albany area (only about an hour away!) for dinner and it was such a blast. It is the perfect location for a smaller sized wedding (<150) but the last I knew, if you rented a tent and a floor to cover the entire space, you could have a larger guest list and keep the party outdoors. The cost to rent the tent and a dance floor is pretty hefty so it would be a steep addition (plus the inside of the barn is beautiful and you really don’t want to miss out on that). My one and only complaint is that due to noise ordinance in North Bennington, there is no extending the evening if the party is still going. We still had a ton of people hanging around and dancing and because Bennington essentially has no night life, the party had to end. Otherwise it was such a beautiful location and I would definitely recommend it!!
