pick out everything we needed in July and it took until DECEMBER to get a correct invoice for our January 1st wedding. Our planner had to spend weeks emailing and calling trying to get our questions answered and a correct invoice sent over, causing so much anxiety about whether the items I picked out would even be available for our wedding by the time we were able to put down a deposit. They are the exclusive provider for our venue, so we were required to use them, which meant our delivery fee was waived, which was great, but the free delivery was not worth the stress of not knowing until two weeks before whether or not we would have tablecloths, flatware, or plates for our wedding.
Party Reflections worked with us through two reschedules of our daughter's wedding (thanks to COVID-19). Everything turned out beautifully, and the items we rented through them, from a tent to tables and chairs to linens and china were all top ...

tl;dr: Party Reflections was 1) more expensive than necessary, and in a way that seems clearly designed to take advantage of the expected cost of modern weddings, and 2) not terribly helpful. More detail below.
Our experience with Party Reflec...
tions wasn't great. For one thing, they're far more expensive than some other options in the area. (In some cases, four times the price of similar items and services from some local competitors.) And it's not clear what you get for the extra money. The equipment is fine, the delivery service is fine*…. But that's true for pretty much everyone.
More importantly, we felt squeezed for pennies. There was a possibility of rain on the day they set up the dance floor, so (without asking us beforehand) they brought along a tarp to cover it, and wanted to charge us $100 for tarp rental. (Which, by the way, was their cheapest suggestion for simply keeping the dance floor dry by about $400.) I mean, I get it—but that's like charging restaurant patrons for napkins. It's the sort of thing most companies would do just as part of the deal.
We also had some trouble communicating with them. They were slow to return calls when it was just a matter of answering our questions or getting things sorted out, rather than of sales or payment. And, unlike most of the other services involved with the wedding, they seemed not terribly concerned with simply being helpful. Finally, part of our setup plan for the reception required coordinating with them on delivery time, and that turned out to be too difficult.
In the end, Party Reflections has a good reputation in our area, and I'm sure you'll do well with them if you're willing to pay whatever it takes to make things go smoothly. But after working with them, my sense is that things get difficult if you have a budget. For what it's worth, we ended up getting a few items from another local service, Party-On Rentals, and our experience with them was much better.
*…Except that they didn't leave the tables in the right pattern or the dance floor in the right orientation. Admittedly, that might be a complicated thing to ask, but… I dunno. They do specialize in this stuff.

price. We did not use Party Reflections services because of this. We do want to warn everyone of our experience and encourage you to look elsewhere and do your research. I was disgusted to find out that I almost paid 2 times the amount of a close competitors quote. It's a shame to know that there are still companies out there who really take advantage of folks that are preparing for their wedding.

in times of the year, or quotes on very short notice prior to the event date, may lead to higher rates just like an airline or hotel. The particular items you requested could also have an impact on the pricing given our availability of those items on your event date. Basically, there are a number of factors that may have led to a higher price from us, but I find it hard to believe we were twice as expensive even though I know we provide more than twice the value.
As the largest special event rental company in North and South Carolina, I assure you we pay close attention to our pricing model and strive to give our clients the best possible value we can offer. We are quick to tell our clients that we are not the cheapest alternative in the market, and we encourage them to visit each of our competitors before they make their final decision. We pride ourselves on providing the highest quality equipment coupled with superior service, and that does not come at the cheapest price. Identical quotes, as you referred to, only means the same items are on the quote. It does not mean the items themselves are identical. Our equipment is inspected and cleaned after each rental to ensure it is safe and ready to be used at the next event. My point is, a chair from us is not necessarily the same as a chair from our competitor. Unfortunately for most of our wedding clients, you only get one chance to get the decision right, and I am not sure if your wedding day is the best day to choose the cheapest option. I completely agree with your warning to other customers to do their research, and I would suggest pricing not be the only factor in their research or decision-making process.
Having been in business for over 60 years, I assure you we do not take advantage of anyone regardless of what event we service, and I would be a fool to not take offense to the comment. Our business continues to grow based on our relationships in the industry and with our clients. Those who value that relationship and what we offer, realize there is a premium to be paid for the service we provide. Perhaps we are not a good fit for your particular event, but I wish you nothing but the best of luck on your wedding day. Congratulations!

The showroom is right near my house so it was convenient for me to pop over there a couple of times to pick everything out. They have a good selection to choose from and I was happy with my choices.

That may be true, but I definitely got the impression that she felt like she was above my 100 person wedding. All in all, the quote wasn’t crazy expensive (we just needed tables, chairs and linens, plus delivery and pickup), but we won’t be using them. If she can’t be bothered to do her job in a welcoming way, I can take my business elsewhere, especially since she suggested I do so anyway.

like. After we made our choices and gave them the estimated number of guests attending, they created a proposal for us. Closer to our wedding, we realized one of the linens we had originally chosen wasn’t the color we were going for. They were very accommodating with us coming back into the showroom to look at other options and make changes. While we were at Party Reflections changing the linen, we noticed that they put the wrong plate color down on our original proposal. Thankfully we caught it!

for hidden costs... Need a tent? Prepare to rent the coverings for the metal poles that hold it up... They don't come with the tent. Have to rent the chandelier switches separately. Extension cords are an extra rental cost but I think this is standard with most companies like This. They know you're having a wedding and need it so they break every little thing down as an additional cost. But their services were good and everything looked great. Oh yeah, additional fee for chairs to be set up. We cut costs by having the ushers do it.

valuing our professional relationship with your venue and I will share with our team that you found their suggestions concerning the property and what you could do helpful.
We have chosen to itemize all of our tent accessories so that clients can pick and choose which accessories they would like to have and that fit into their budget. We could easily include all options however that may be cost prohibitive for many clients who do not need these options. The cost of the tent and all of the parts to build the tent are one price. When a client chooses an option to upgrade the tent like add leg skirts or draping, those options are above and beyond the tent itself. I will also share with our management team as all of these options and costs of adding them should be communicated initially during the reservation process.

Everything we received from these guys exceeded my expectations by a million! They are timely, professional, and very supportive in giving advice when needed! Totally recommend these guys.

She had all of our china, flatware and glassware rush delivered from their store in Charlotte. Since the new linens wouldn't be ready in time, she upgraded us from the basic linens to dupioni silk at no extra charge and absolutely no hassle on my side. Our day was beautiful and relatively stress-free after Paula diverted this crisis. Thank you!!
