The flowers were beautiful, particularly the bouquet which was unique and closely matched the floral inspirations we had originally provided. Additionally, Passion Roots went above and beyond the day of the wedding. My grandmother actually fell and broke her hip the night before my wedding, was rushed to the hospital, and had surgery during our ceremony the following day. Passion Roots found out when my parents picked up the floral order that morning, and they sent a beautiful flower arrangement and note to my grandmother’s hospital room free of charge and without us knowing. My grandmother was thrilled and it definitely brightened an unideal situation. I couldn’t recommend Passion Roots enough.

y just didn't compare. I definitely had to go with my dream florist which was Passion Roots! I am so happy I went with my gut and initial feeling, because the flowers are greenery were more than perfect on my wedding day.
I did get a little crazy with the indecisiveness and questions, but Passions Roots was so patient with me and answered all my questions promptly. They are also very detailed in their emails which made the planning process for a non-local client like me who does not live where they are based, go very smoothly.
I do want to mention that they do have a minimum spend which I believe is stated on their website, so please make note of this if you are being especially mindful of your budget. Every penny spent on my flowers was absolutely worth it though. They were able to do the look I wanted and I definitely did not have a "sky's the limit" kind of budget. If anything, I was thinking that my flowers would not be as grand, but I was very wrong! My floral arrangements were so full and gorgeous, and to die for! I feel that Passion Roots is very happy to work with your budget whether it is their minimum spend or if sky is the limit! Whatever look you are going for, whether it is simple or grand, they will make your floral dreams come true.
My expectations were greatly exceeded when I saw all my floral arrangements on my wedding day. They absolutely carried out my modern tropical vision of soft pinks and greenery. I only wish I could've brought some flowers back to Canada where I live, but I don't think customs would've been very happy with that... I also wish I got to talk to them on my wedding day and give them a big hug for their beautiful work! Everyone who attended my wedding was really wowed by the flowers and greenery. Like, WOWED. Even my bridesmaids were saying that their bouquets looked like bouquets made for a bride so imagine how amazing the bridal bouquet was! There was also my beautiful floral crown which really made me feel even more special on my wedding day! It was all so gorgeous and perfect.

They were easy to contact, they returned calls and emails quickly, and they were very transparent about their pricing and fees. Flowers were one of the biggest deals to me it was something I fantasized about my wedding day the most. I knew I wanted to do tropical greenery and white flowers (wasn't exactly sure which ones). They did an amazing job interpreting what I envisioned, which i'm sure wasn't the easiest because it was all over the place. They even made a recommendation that I add a color, a pale pink. And they gave me some specific reasons why they recommended this which it felt to me that they really knew wha they were doing. and.. Wow! I am so happy I went with their advice!! The flowers were exactly what I wanted and envisioned and sooooo much more. These ladies love what they do and it shows. I got so many compliments from everyone about them and I catch myself every day staring at the photos in which the flowers are in every single one. It's hard to describe the feeling I felt when I first saw my bouquet and my bridesmaids bouquets come in, as well as a beautiful custom head piece.. and then to see all the flowers once I went outside was breathtaking. The flowers are top quality, such beautiful arrangements. I had flowers across the tables as well and the guests kept taking so many pictures of the flowers. They really made the atmosphere! I started out with a phone consultation with Shilhi well in advance of our wedding. She asked me good questions about my vision, and she also pointed me in the direction of other websites that she thought I could get more inspiration from. Shortly thereafter, PR sent me an inspiration/vision board with flower ideas and pictures, along with an initial quote detailing every item that I was interested in. In the months leading up to the wedding, we would revisit the quote every time I had questions or changes.
Closer to the wedding, I worked with Maria, one of the stylists, to go over details and a final quote. PR was very accommodating in helping me stick to my budget, which was great. PR also worked closely with my wedding coordinator, to arrange arrival times, set up logistics between ceremony and reception, etc.
On the day of my wedding, I was blown away by the final product, from my bouquet, to the boutonnieres, to the ceremony arch and centerpieces. Aside from the whole getting married part, the flowers were by far my favorite aspect of the day. The PR team took my vision -- even though I oftentimes wasn't even sure what my vision was -- and perfectly executed it. The crew that was on hand to transition some of our ceremony pieces to the reception were very friendly and efficient. I would not change anything about the flowers, and my only wish is that I could have such beautiful arrangements surrounding me everyday! PR specializes in a very unique look. One example of how fantastic the Passion Roots team is occurred on the day of my wedding. I had planned for greenery to be wrapped around the cables of chandeliers at our dining tables. The cables ended up being much shorter than expected, so they utilized the extra foliage to wrap columns that were behind us in our ceremony. It turned out beautifully and was such a delightful surprise to see when I got to the venue.
The day of our wedding was also very hot. The Passion Roots team was kind enough to wait until the very last minute to set out our flowers so they didn't wilt in the heat. Only thing i would say is, i was not aware of the $2,500 minimum spend until i was at the final stages which was disappointing as i was working towards a budget of $2,000. It was on their website (which i realised later) but i did not see it anywhere in the quote or contract. However in saying that, although i ended up having to spend a lot more than i wanted to, the bouquets and table decorations ended up being MASSIVE (lots and lots of flowers) which was such a nice surprise.
Elana worked with me to get the look i wanted (and Shili even through in some Peonies when i mentioned i was not happy with the price), which was my favourite flower but was too expensive for me to have as part of my arrangements. So overall i am a very happy customer!

Asia I wanted something that was tropical yet . . . different. To get started Shilhi asked my fiancée and I to put together some inspirational images that did not necessarily have to be flower related. So we sent her pictures from our trips to the Far East – Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. The result was mind-blowing and way surpassed my expectations. I did not get to meet Shilhi or visit face-to-face before the wedding. For our rehearsal dinner I actually forgot that we had ordered the flower arrangements through Passion Roots and when I first saw them I was amazed that the our venue had such gorgeous and sophisticated centerpieces. I was shocked and delighted when I realized those were MY flowers! But the best was yet to come. The day of my wedding she presented me and my bridesmaids with stunning bouquets which tied my color scheme of green, orange and pink all together. The table centerpieces were even more spectacular than I could have imagined with roses, peonies, orchids, proteas, air plants, and lotus buds. All of my favorite flowers! Still, my arragements were a surprise, as they weren't exactly what we talked about or agreed to in the contract - BUT were beautiful nontheless. Because of their religion, they are not open for business on Saturdays - which means if your wedding is, you will have to pick up the flowers, cool them with AC throughout the night, and set them up at your venue on your own. This didn't seem like a big deal to me, but the amount of flowers, supplies, and rentals takes up a lot of space quickly and requires multiple SUVs/vans. In the end, I would recommend them for your event. Just be very clear and assertive with what you want if you are particular and ask many questions.

Because I am a coordinator I have seen so many different designs and themes for weddings, it was hard for me to pinpoint exactly what I wanted for my décor. I came to my floral consultation with just a few colors in mind, and they helped my refine my vision. I also got to see their rentals and select which pieces I wanted to use, from the votives to the vases. On the day of my wedding, I was definitely not disappointed. The flowers were amazing; all of my guests and my family were in awe. My favorite floral piece though was my bouquet! Passion Roots created my bouquet to be beyond what I expected, it was unreal! They had used my favorite flowers and a few flowers I did not recognize, which made it a show piece because it made my bouquet unique!
Helpful Hint: If you are renting their vases, ask Passion Roots about having a take home container for the flower arrangements because you will definitely want to take it home to enjoy over the next few days. Their pieces are just too beautiful to throw away!

lace. For example, I had a purple wedding dress and I wanted like 5 foot tall trees with can lights as my centerpieces and I wanted the room to look like a forest. Shilhi delivered and MUCH more. I loved that she REALLY tried her best to look into everything I mentioned and asked about and she really goes the extra mile for her brides to give them what they want. I hired PR for their floral and event design and I would have never went elsewhere. You can't find another florist like this in Hawaii. Her ideas are so creative and her taste is exquisite. Trendy, modern and so tasteful; not cookie cutter at all. When everyone walked in to my reception they were in awe. I think most people said they've never seen the ballroom look THAT nice and these people do weddings there all the time. Everything from my linens to my tree shadow lighting, and my 5 foot tree centerpieces to the awesome cake swing she made me was EXACTLY what I wanted. Shilhi is very skilled in tapping in to the minds of each of her brides to give each individual their specific vision. Also, she works hard to save you a penny here and there which any bride knows is extremely helpful when wedding planning. I loved her DIY ideas too, which was so budget friendly.
Also, Shilhi is so bubbly and fun. She makes the process that much more enjoyable, especially when the planning gets the best of you. She also truly cares about her clients. Honestly, I've had some terrible experiences with a few of the vendors I hired for my wedding. (One wanted to charge extra $ to alphabetize my escort cards ON top of their rate. Where is the aloha in that?) Shilhi really extends the warm aloha that Hawaii is known for and would never try to up charge for crazy things like that. She doesn't even try to charge extra when she refers event vendors such as lighting, linens, etc...She is a very warm and genuine individual and that makes doing business with her enjoyable and easy: what every bride appreciates. I just had a destination wedding on Oahu in July. I found Passion Roots through my wedding planner and decided to use them because of their great reviews. Because I am not from Hawaii, I never got to meet with Passion Roots before my big day....
I was constantly emailing them about the flowers and they were always quick to respond to me. They were beyond helpful when I was deciding on colors and types of flowers.
I used Passion Roots for an arch (they made it even prettier than the picture I gave them to go by), bouquets, center arrangements, and leis. Everything was stunning! The flowers made the wedding and everyone was raving about them. Almost everything was as expected except for the color of the flowers. I asked for bright pink flowers and they were a purple color. I was upset when I saw them because this changed my whole color scheme. Although they were not what I asked for, after looking at my pictures they truly were gorgeous.
I would highly recommend Passion Roots, especially for destination brides.
