I'm Pastor Mike, I was ordained into full-time Christian ministry in 2010, I serve full-time at an East Tennessee Church, and have been married for over 12 years. I am more in love with my wife today than the day we were married! Together we have two beautiful children. I officiated my first wedding, just weeks after my own honeymoon, and have honestly lost count of how many wonderful couples I have had the honor to work with! I pray for true fulfillment in marriage for each couple I meet!

d allowing us to simply relax and enjoy such a special moment in our lives. He shared beautiful words of wisdom about marriage that were both meaningful and heartfelt. One of the most special moments of our ceremony was when he offered a prayer over us as a newly united family. Having our children there to share in that blessing made it even more meaningful, and it’s a memory we will cherish forever. His calm, welcoming personality and heartfelt approach were exactly what we had hoped for. He made our ceremony feel personal, peaceful, and full of love without ever feeling overly formal or rehearsed. We are so grateful he was part of our special day in the mountains and would wholeheartedly recommend him to any couple looking for someone who brings warmth, sincerity, and faith into their ceremony!

ing almost 7 1/2 hours away from home. He was good as easing my nerves, and he understood what we wanted out of the ceremony. Quick, fun, and symbolic. We looked into a unity ceremony because of his questions, and I am so glad we did! He helped us do a more Christian symbolic hand-fasting, which stems from Celtic tradition. He even linked the symbolism for the Celtic tradition back to our engagement, which was in Ireland. I saw the symbolism in our ceremony as an important factor, despite wanting a quick ceremony. Pastor Michael was able to deliver on everything I wanted out of our ceremony!

Response from Pastor Michael Newsom

Lilly, Thank you very much! As I often say, the length of a ceremony is not what makes it ...

special, its about finding what is important to the two of you, and letting it breathe naturally. No time clock, no rush, but no need to prolong for the sake of formality. On our wedding day, the ceremony felt personal, heartfelt, and full of love, exactly what we hoped for. It was clear how much care and prayer he put into every word. We received so many compliments from our guests about how beautiful and genuine the ceremony was. We are beyond grateful for Pastor Mike’s guidance, kindness, and dedication. We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant and would highly recommend him to any couple looking for someone who truly cares about their marriage, not just their wedding day.

He was very responsive, he would continuously check in with us and make sure we were still set with the date and time we picked, as well as anything we may want to change about our ceremony. He was very flexible, because we opted for getting married at a cabin we didn’t have a set time right away but he worked with us. During the actual ceremony, Pastor Mike was very attentive, he checked on both My Husband and I to make sure there weren’t any pre-wedding jitters and then mingled with our families until to ceremony started.
