We just had our son and new DIL wedding reception at Patterson Mansion over this past weekend - due to unusual circumstances, I was the organizer of the wedding/reception. We looked at multiple venues around the area and ended up settling on Patterson, and we are so glad that we did! They were helpful, on time, decorated just like we asked, the food was amazing, the service was amazing, and everyone had a great time! This was easily the most affordable venue we looked at, but the reception looked and felt like so much more than what we paid! Elena was our contact and site manager during the event and I cannot say enough great things about how she handled everything and made the evening run so smoothly! It truly was an exceptional evening and Patterson made that happen.

We had a wonderful wedding at the Patterson Mansion, including the ceremony, cocktails, dinner and dancing. It's a beautiful historic mansion with modern upgrades that make it event-friendly. But the key element is the role played by The Tabard Inn, which is the preferred food & bev provider and manages the events from setup to breakdown, not just the food/drinks and waitstaff but also the chairs/tables, linens, dinnerware, placecards and signage; this creates a turnkey experience for the hosts. (The figure I quote for the cost includes all that.) Elena and her team at The Tabard did a flawless job and were absolutely terrific to work with. A couple of notes about the venue: There is no parking facility there; street parking in urban Dupont Circle can be tough and the nearby garage can be a little sketchy. Most of our guests used Ubers and taxis. Also, there is a hotel on-site, the Placemakr, which was handy for some folks who wanted to stay right at the venue, but it is not a full-service hotel so won't be right for everyone.

ofile venues in the DMV, and we both immediately knew the Patterson Mansion was the perfect venue for our wedding. We wanted a venue with historic significance, character, and a convenient location for our large out-of-towner guest count. Then enters Mariana and Elena. They both went above and beyond to treat us like royalty and make us feel special as we planned out the menu, bar and other logistics. They were extremely professional, friendly, thoughtful and detail-oriented. They answered all emails promptly and explained everything, providing full transparency along the way. They were extremely accommodating to all of our requests, and we couldn’t be happier with the level of white glove service they provided. One extremely nice touch that stood out to us was that during our reception, Mariana came by with a sampling of the passed hors d’ouvres that we didn’t get to enjoy as we were socializing with guests. As someone who loves a passed hors d’ouvres, that meant a lot :) The appetizers, entrees and desserts were extremely delicious and flavorful. Wedding food can tend to be bland and cold, especially due to mass production. That was NOT the case. The Tabard Inn quality of the food was not sacrificed, even for the size of party we had. The salad was fresh and flavorful, the filet mignon was cooked to perfection, and the crème brulet was out of this world. The Tabard Inn team were top notch, each extremely friendly, attentive, quick, and professional. They executed service flawlessly, and made Daniel and I feel like kings. Between the building itself, the food, and the service, everything was first class all the way. For anyone seeking to host an event at a beautiful and unique venue with a historic, modern, Washingtonian twist, excellent food and a prime location, the Patterson Mansion x Tabard Inn should be at the top of your list!

Mariana and Elena are the only two people you want helping you plan your wedding! We had the best day of our lives thanks to them. The Patterson mansion is so beautiful and unique,...

but the people are what made it so special. They executed every plan we asked for, were super transparent with the costs and summary of charges, and very flexible! Our servers and bartenders were pleasant and helpful. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. We actually specifically chose the Patterson not just because of how beautiful it was, but because of our first interaction with Mariana. We knew we wanted to work with her! She was so organized, responded to every email and phone call promptly, and executed everything perfectly. If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing. Big thanks to the Tabard Inn restaurant and the Patterson Mansion for making our wedding dreams come true!
