My husband and I can't say enough good things about Paula and Nik. We selected them for our wedding because they photographed a friend of ours and we had so much fun with them at that wedding, not to mention the photos were amazing. Having them for our own engagement and wedding planning experience was the best decision we made and worth every penny we spent! Paula is extremely responsive and fun to work with. She makes you feel SO COMFORTABLE. Her and Nik have fun, adventurous spirits that made our engagement and wedding photos so playful and fun. We can't thank them enough for capturing such a wonderful day so perfectly :)

Paula was incredible to work with. We were able to secure an engagement session and day-of photography, and she was just a pleasure throughout the whole experience. The photos from the engagement shoot were so perfectly us. I love them! It's only been a week since our wedding, so I haven't seen all of the final photos yet, but she set us a few edited shots to tide us over, which I was not expecting at all! Plus, all I heard during the wedding was how wonderful she and Nik were. They were so happy to engage with our family and friends to make sure that everyone was having a good time and getting the great shots they wanted. If they saw someone with a phone in hand telling someone to smile, they'd slide in and offer a more professional shot. Plus, they could tell when we (a couple of introverts!) were getting overwhelmed and offered to take us away for more secluded time (and some extra cute shots). I honestly want them at every single event in the future, partly because the photography is gorgeous, and partly because they are just great people!! Thank you so much Paula and Nik!!

There are not enough words to describe how awesome and talented Paula is! She was so friendly and responsive with all our questions as we were deciding which photographer to go with and her pricing and packaging options were very clear and helpful on her website. We did an engagement shoot with Paula about a month before our wedding and it totally put all my wedding anxieties at ease! Even if everything went wrong at the wedding I knew I was still going to have amazing photos of my husband and myself. Paula was great with suggesting places for us to do the shoot (because I totally had wedding brain and could not make another decision) and once we got there she was so amazing with making us feel relaxed and not feel awkwardly dorky in front of the camera. She even got the pictures back to us within a week so that we could have time to print them before our wedding. For the wedding she and her husband Nik were so amazing at putting everyone at ease, getting all the shots we wanted, and all the ones we didn't know we needed. They were right there when you needed them and many of our guests commented how wonderful they were. All of our photos were amazing- I can't believe how good they look and that it's actually me in them! She truly captured the garden/vintage fairy feel of our wedding and there were so many more photos than I anticipated! I know how overwhelming finding a photographer can be and what a significant investment it can be, but Paula is definitely worth every penny. She clearly loves what she does and it shows in her photos and and in her personality.

I stopped looking for a photographer the minute I came across Paula's website. Her style was exactly what I was looking for at an incredible price (she really should start charging more, actually). Her correspondence with me was timely and professional, yet extremely easy-going and flexible. We met her first for our engagement session, which she drove an hour for and stayed until 1030pm because I wanted studio portraits in addition to our downtown Alexandria shoot. She rented all the equipment and set everything up at no additional charge. Incredible. What was more incredible is that she spent the first 30 minutes just getting to know us. Paula has an amazing gift of seeming like an old friend from the minute you meet her. My now husband and I spent the entire car ride home talking about how relieved we were that she was so kind,energetic, and easy going. We were so excited about having her at the wedding. A week before our actual ceremony we met Paula and her second-shooter, and husband, Nik at our venues to do a walkthrough so that she could familiarize herself and take some test shots. I thought that was extremely forward-thinking of her. On the day of our wedding, Paula was early and did some artsy shots of my dress, invitations, jewelry, etc. Afterward she just sort of blended in with the bridal party. I was able to be completely in the moment of my wedding because I knew I had nothing to worry about with Paula. My husband said the same of Nik, who ended up being just one of the guys during the pre-ceremony photography. Paula was organized, focused, gave clear directions, and at the same time was so warm and flexible. She has absolutely no ego as a photographer, so when my bossy family was yelling her name all night to get shots of things they wanted she did so with her warm smile and indulged their whims, while amazingly never missing a moment. She even set up a photobooth at an amazingly low cost! The pictures were amazing, and so is she.
