Pawleys Island Bakery

We used PI Bakery for our wedding. I'm not one for sweets, but I was hooked after our tasting. Everything we tried was delicious! We did cupcakes for our wedding - Max said he could do as many flavors and whatever combinations we wanted. Every single flavor was amazing. Our service cake and the cupcakes looked just perfect. Extremely reasonable pricing and so relaxed and easy to work with!

I would go above 5 stars if possible. Max Goree and his crew at Pawleys Island Bakery were phenomenal. My guests are still raving about the cakes at the wedding. Everything was delicious, and the cake decorations were beautiful!

Max is great! My whole experience with him was very laid back and NOT stressful! He made this process simple and painless. His desserts are delicious! Our wedding cake came out beautiful. All i had to do was provide a photo and him and his team were able to make the magic happen. I highly recommend him!

Max is amazing to work with - very laid back and artsy, and really cares about his work. Also, his cakes are sooo delicious!!! There are many varieties to choose from - and every one is sooo good. The final cake was beautiful and elegant. He even made a smaller, simple cake for my brother since my brother is a picky eater. You have to choose Max and Pawleys Island Bakery - you won't be disappointed.

Max did a fantastic job with the cake and cupcakes for our wedding. We had three tastings to get our smore cupcakes PERFECT. I couldn't have asked for anything better. They were set up beautifully and all our guests RAVED about have great they were! He is very personable and easy to work with. We are so glad we chose him!

I worked with Max at Pawleys Island Bakery for my 9/14/13 wedding in Pawleys Island, SC. I have frequented Pawleys Island Bakery for breakfast and coffee on trips to Pawleys Island over the past 4 years, so I knew that I wanted to work with them for our wedding if at all possible. First off, Max and his wife are the nicest people and go out of their way to give A+ customer service. Additionally, the various types of cakes, fillings, and frostings they make are so delicious - it was hard to narrow down what we wanted for our wedding cake. We ended up hiring Pawleys Island Bakery for our wedding cake and also had them prepare a dessert table for our reception that included various types of cookies, dessert bars, and pastries that were all incredibly tasty. I was looking forward to heading over to the dessert table at the end of our reception to grab some leftover desserts to bring back to our room for a late-night snack; unfortunately, there was nothing left to take! Our guests had eaten every piece! I highly recommend Pawleys Island Bakery for wedding services, and I can't wait to go back and visit the next time I am in Pawleys and grab a lemon bar or two :)

Max came highly recommended for his work and delicious cakes! My husband and I were thrilled once we saw his work and we got to taste the cakes and knew we found the perfect one! We absolutely loved our wedding cake and so did our guests...we had none left! But Max also helped in creating a donut-cake table that our guests got to enjoy which was also a huge hit! The best part of our cake was that it was lime green on the inside (our signature color) and it came out incredible. We enjoyed working with Max and letting his creativity and experience help finalize all the details of the perfect wedding cake for us. We also used him for a desert tray for the bridal luncheon and again, everything was gone! Such a great, local bakery that I will enjoy for years to come!

I would have to say that I am a bit picky when it comes to cake and the designs of the cake, but Max and his staff did an absolutely amazing job! He made my cake even more beautiful than I had imagined and everybody loved the different flavors that we had chosen. Plus, he throws in an anniversary cake for you so you don't have to save the top layer, awesome! Also, the bakery is a great place to visit no matter what. They have some great pastries, desserts, and dishes that everybody needs to experience!

We used PI Bakery for our wedding cake, reception cake and wedding desserts. Max was the easiest person to work with and the treats were all delicious!

Max and Pawleys Island Bakery were so great to work with! I love that they only use buttercream (not a fan of fondant), and the cakes look beautiful even in the SC heat! Not only was the cake gorgeous, but it was absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend PI Bakery for your cake, you won't regret it!

Max did an amazing job on our wedding cake!! I was blown away by how beautiful our cake looked and guests raved about how delicious it was. We requested a cake that serves 80; however, he gave us a cake that could have served 120, giving us more for our money. Very affordable, great customer service, and SO delicious!

Max the owner was very easy to work with, and everything went smoothly! Plus everything we tasted at the bakery is delicious. We used them for dessert at our rehearsal dinner and for our cake and cupcakes for the wedding. Overall they are delicious, affordable, and easy to work with!

We chose Max-the owner- of Pawleys Island Bakery after tasting his cakes at the bridal expo in Myrtle Beach in January 2012. We were told by so many others to look at other vendors because they could make these beautiful pieces of artwork. After at first glance other vendors cakes were very extravagant but super sweet and sugary. Max's cakes were simply, beautiful and rich in flavor. We had a destination wedding so consultation was done via email and telephone mostly. Max was extremely pleasant when we were able to visit his shop. Our cake was simply beautiful, met all of our needs and people are still talking about how good it was. The cake was one of the highlights of our wedding day and Max let us customize it for a very reasonable price. If I am ever in town again, I would go to Pawleys Island Bakery just for the cupcakes. One word for Max and his staff...AWESOME!!!

Max was one of our favorite vendors that we worked with. He was very kind and accommodating to our wants and set the cupcakes and cake up PERFECT! It was just want we pictured.

Our cakes were amazing, they were the exact size, design & flavors we wanted. Max is very helpful and lets you take control of your own cake. Very happy with the results and happy we went with them.
