When the groom and I were talking about our wedding, we just wanted to have an "epic dance party" and PDX DJs did not disappoint. There were a handful of guests (including my brother, and my now mother-in-law) that said they were NOT going to dance, and somehow Stephen did it. We had a HUGE EPIC dance party with a nice mix of music that brought together a very crazy group of friends, family, kiddos, and others. We were told that Vinnie would be contacting us a week before our wedding to touch base with us, but it was four days before our wedding and we still had not heard from him. He didn't spend much time getting to know us and communicating with us about what we wanted. He did a pretty good job of acting as MC, but was not very engaging with the wedding guests and did not really get the dancing started as we had hoped. The music that he played during cocktail hour and dinner was perfect and was exactly what we had hoped for. We had put in our online portal that we wanted there to be lots of fun and dancing after cake was served, but the music that he played during dancing was not very fitting. We were underwhelmed with our experience with DJ Vinnie, but think that PDX DJs are still worthwhile because of how great Sean is.

hen did not bring anything to shade his equipment as it sounds like he was told that he would be under cover as per our contract but he was not and consequently the microphone receiver overheated. He also was under the impression that there would be an electrical outlet within 50 feet of his setup location. He was not adequately prepared to provide 75+ feet of extension. I'm positive that there is more that could have been done on our end to avoid these issues and for that I am truly sorry. I had a face to face meeting with Stephen to go over these issues to ensure that he is better prepared for the unexpected and to make sure that these issues never happen in the future.
As for finding out who your DJ was, I truly wish you would have expressed your concern about this. Typically, the DJ doesn't reach out to you until after the planning portal is closed 2 weeks prior to your event. This way he has a chance to review all of your completed information before touching base with you. That being said, there have been many times where we have arranged for the DJ to reach out sooner at a clients request.
Overall, I'm glad that you enjoyed the music and that the rest of the evening went great. However I am very sorry that you were not 100% satisfied. I placed a refund check in the mail last week, please let me know if you do not receive this.

Our DJ had perfect timing and knew exactly what to play and when to play it. He didn't need any direction from me. I would recommend this business to anyone who needs someone to just 'handle it'. I started DJing in 2008, at first just performing for friends and then started taking professional work. As I perfected my craft, I worked in bars and nightclubs all over the San Francisco bay area.
In 2013 I moved to Portland, Oregon and started PDX DJs. The decision to start PDX DJs came after attending multiple wedding where the high priced DJ was lacking both in his hosting abilities as well as his mixing technique. I decided to start PDX DJs in an effort to provide top notch service for a simple and affordable price.
