as a bonus they provided complimentary home made potato chips, which was a nice addition to our meals. I've heard that it can get pretty crowded at times here, good to make a reservation.
Beautiful course with very friendly staff. The greens were fast and challenging. I played two courses while I visited Hawaii, I’m glad this was one of them. The cocktails and snacks were also on point.

maybe the BEST kept greens I’ve even seen. No ball marks to be found on them, they are firm. Loved the back 9, very unique layouts there. The best course I’ve played in Oahu so far!

Pearl at Kalauao has been through a serious transformation, and the result is a course that deserves a lot more attention than it currently gets.

ountry Club and designed by Akira Sato, the par-72 layout sits in the hills of Aiea with views of Pearl Harbor and the Waianae Mountains that are genuinely hard to match anywhere on the island. The property has been part of Oahu's golf community for nearly six decades, and the towering Monkey Pod trees throughout the course give it a natural character that no renovation can manufacture.
What the 2024 renovation did was bring the infrastructure in line with that setting. All greens were resurfaced with Platinum TE Paspalum turf. Bunkers were fully redesigned using the Better Billy Bunker method. New tee boxes were added, a new three-hole pitch-and-putt short course was built, and the practice facilities were significantly expanded. The redesign was led by architect Kevin Ramsay of Golfplan, and Golf Digest and Golf Inc. both recognized the results in 2026.
The Smartgolfcourses team visited the property in Aiea and came away genuinely impressed. The course plays through naturally hilly terrain with elevation changes that keep every hole interesting. Ownership returned to Kamehameha Schools in 2020, and you can feel the commitment to the land and the community throughout the property.

going out. I was told this is fixed now and the greens will be better soon. Staff are amazing! It’s around $100 for a round with cart for non resident past 1 pm. Great price for Hawaii! 4 stars due to the shape of the bunkers and greens.
