Pel-Appino Catering, LLC is an award-winning catering company based in Meridian, ID. Led by owner Catherine, this team believes in the power of food in bringing people together. Catherine Pellegrini is a born chef, having grown up in a boisterous Italian home with plenty of food and more family members than she can count. At the age of four, her Papi built her a stool for the stove, and she started making gravy on Sundays with Nani. She can still remember the smells of Sunday—dubbed family day—with everyone gathered around the kitchen table, never left hungry. As she grew older, got married, and had kids of her own, Catherine still carried on the traditions of her childhood and founded Pel-Appino Catering in 2009. At the time, it was a humble business, but after the passing of her husband, Joe, she followed his advice and brought her dream career to life. Each time she caters an event, there is still a little bit of Joe in there.

We had a fantastic experience with Pel-Appino Catering!
Planning:
To start, Cat (the owner) does free tastings at her house, which gave my wife and her family the opportunity to try many of the delicious options that they have. They enjoyed the time there and it absolutely helped us plan out a great meal. Cat was also very quick to communicate via email, and we never felt like we were left waiting for a response. This was extremely helpful for us during planning!
Food:
The food was delicious, and we got plenty of compliments from our guests!
We chose the charcutier grazing table as our appetizer, and Cat was also nice enough to throw in two extra appetizers, the "Ricotta with Lemon Basil and honey flat bread" and the "whipped goat cheese and blueberry balsamic crostini". These were great little bites for us, though as the wedding couple we were so busy we hardly had enough time to sit down and enjoy them!
For our main course, the dishes we especially loved were the "Sauteed Zucchini and Yellow Squash with Sundried Tomato Alfredo Sauce", the "Sambal Marinated Tri-tip with Fresh Fruit Tapenade" and the "Chicken Pel-Appino". While everything was delicious, these three were our absolute favorites!
The Wedding:
When the big day arrived, Cat's team was extremely helpful, professional, and incredibly flexible. They did a fantastic job, and we really couldn't have asked for anything more!
Overall, we had a wonderful wedding, and Pel-Appino was a critical part of that! Thanks again to Cat and each and every member of her team!
Cat and her team were amazing! We had a lot of logistical challenges with our venue (including transporting food long distances from the kitchens to the actual locations our guests ate, limited cell service, etc) but Cat and her team rose to every challenge with professionalism and grace.
They went above and beyond to assist us with not only food related tasks but with everything we were working on - they worked incredibly hard to make our wedding weekend a reality and I am so grateful we chose them.
Guests especially loved the lemon chicken, the lunch sandwiches (a total sleeper hit), the charcuterie table, and the hot pretzel bar!
We would DEFINITELY recommend Cat and her team for any future events.
Cat and her team are the absolute best! The food was amazing and the service was even better. She made us feel like family and made our day feel like it was as important to her as it was to us!! I am so grateful we found her as she truly made our day perfect.

Pell-Appino Catering was very easy to work with. They were professional, efficient, friendly and an excellent addition to our son and daughter-in-law's wedding. We showed them where to set up and how to access power and they took care of everything. On top of everything else, the food was fantastic. We would give them six stars if that was an option.

Cat and her staff were phenomenal from the planning to the delivery. The food was amazing and the service went way beyond my expectations. As the mother of the bride I was able to reach out with any questions or concerns, and really appreciated the kindness of the staff. Cat and her team did an amazing job of food preparation, presentation and service. We had a 65 person sit down family style 4course meal, with printed menus at each spot (everyone raved). First of all the food was excellent. The menu selection process was easy and the choices were incredible. The service was perfection. Further, the wedding day process was stress free because no matter what we needed it was handled with a smile. Further, the wedding experience they have is of great help on planning. We would use them again and again.
There are no words to describe how wonderful and talented Cat is. Cat ensured we were involved in all parts of the menu planning and provided us with a diverse list of options. She easily and happily accommodated our special requests. We have been to many weddings where the food wasn't very special and wanted to make sure to not add ours to that list. Cat more than met this goal, and I would eat her food every day if given the option. Her whole staff was kind and friendly, and we loved having them all there on our big day!
Cat made us feel like family from the first tasting we had to our wedding day. Cat and her team did a fantastic job executing our catering requests. Our day would not have been complete without her. Catering was one of our top priorities for our wedding and Pel-Appino catering did not disappoint. The charcuterie board, chicken Pel-Appino, and rosemary beef are a must! Not only is Cat's food delicious, but she is also an absolute dream to work with. She made the process so easy from start to finish and is willing to go above and beyond for her customers. Her team is fantastic as well. We loved having her cater our wedding.
Catherine is so kind and was such a pleasure to work with! She made us a beautiful spread for our tasting and was very accommodating to some dietary needs for a few of our guests. She did an amazing job on wedding day and everyone was raving about the food (I am still hearing about those cheesy potatoes!!) She also stayed and made a late night pizza bar snack. Highly recommend the Pel-Appino team!
We hired Pel-Appino to cater our wedding and we were very happy with their professional service. The food was delicious and there was plenty of extra food that they packed up for us to take home. Cat was very easy to work with and very accommodating to all of our requests. We would definitely recommend her and we will use her for future events.

Cat truly is amazing. She served up delicious food and also handled so many details so well, making our day truly special. I cannot express enough how amazing Cat is. It's so clear that she loves her profession and you can see it and taste it. We received so many compliments on the food, her chicken Pel-appino is to die for! I was one of the brides that postponed for an entire year because I was determined to have a fall wedding and Cat was with me every step of the way. She was my favorite vendor to work with and I will always recommend her for anyone who needs a caterer. Also she has so many options, we had a grilled cheese bar at the end of the night with delicious tomato soup. The fact that there are no hidden or last minute fees is just the cherry on top. If you need a caterer, look no further that Pel-Appino Catering and you won't be disappointed.

The food was absolutely to die for!!!! Between the apps, entrees and late night snack, I felt like we never stopped eating that night, which is exactly what we wanted! Cat had such amazing communication throughout the entire process and was willing to help and work with us wherever we needed, even if it wasn’t on the topic of food, she was there to help.
What a fantastic experience from beginning to end! Cat and her crew were phenomenal! The food was to die for! It made my special day so worry free and stress free. Pel-Appino Catering was a dream to work with!
My fiancé and I were struggling to nail down a caterer that fit our budget and our remote location, and we were cutting it close.
When I talked to Cat on the phone, it felt like I was talking to a family member. Her warmth and familiarity made me excited to work with her and made me feel lucky we found her.
We wanted a catering company that was streamlined: we didn't want to have to deal with all the little decisions. Pel-Appino absolutely delivered there!
When the wedding day came, Cat and her crew settled in on their own, worked patiently around our delayed scheduled, and laid out delicious food with gorgeous presentations.
What's more, Pel-Appino is very familiar with dietary restrictions and allergies. Two of our guests had gluten and dairy allergies and could eat almost everything!
The only thing I'm sad about concerning our experience with Pel-Appino is that I didn't get to interact with Cat and her crew more. Such sweet people!
I would HIGHLY recommend Cat and Pel-Appino Catering!

Cat and her team are simply amazing. They made sure everything went so smoothly on our wedding day, and we felt incredibly comfortable knowing we were in such capable hands. Cat was so helpful throughout the months and weeks leading up to our wedding -- her calm and caring demeanor was very much appreciated. Beyond just making sure that the food was absolutely delicious and that all of our guests were accommodated (vegetarians, gluten free, etc.), Cat and her team helped out with so many other aspects of our wedding that it's hard to list them all. Cat and her team are honestly angels sent from heaven, if anyone reads these reviews you can see the obvious they're great at what they do they have amazing food staff and prices they have 100% earned every 5 star review they have on here but i need y'all to know if i could give then 10 stars i would Cats love and passion for catering is incredible she has so much love for it and will do anything if it means taking a little pressure off the bride and groom. She was so patient while we worked through our bumps in the road from COVID from venue changes to date changes. She was there the whole process from start to finish so responsive and even took the time to call me get to know me and personally introduce herself unlike the other vendors I had looked into who responded back with a menu prices and phone number. She treats you like family not like another paycheck in her pocket. We're forever grateful to have come across Cat and her team, I can promise anyone that reaches out to Cat will not be disappointed. So thankful for Cat and her team. This is a powerhouse group of men and women! They were willing to driving 3 hours on a dirt road to the middle of Atlanta Idaho! There food was delicious, fresh, and served in a timely manner. Cat is professional, and ensured that our vision was executed. Cat and her team are absolutely amazing. They were flexible with me through COUNTLESS changes, including dates and times and venues! She was by far my favorite person to work with and she is truly there to make your day or event special! And that's not even talking about the AMAZING dishes she prepares for you. My (now) husband and I went for a tasting at her home and everything she put out was better than the thing we just tried. It was a 'Yes' on the spot. My family talks about the food all the time. You want Cat to cater your wedding. She is the Best ever. ( I would suggest you ask about the Grilled Cheese Bar)!

Cat and her staff were simply amazing! As a guest, I was delighted to see all the different varieties of appetizers and dinner choices (Tri-Tip w/ Gorgonzola sauce & Chicken w/ pears and brie cheese). It was not just your typical 'wedding' food. They also had this amazing charcuterie board with meats, cheeses, crackers, flatbreads, fruit, etc. that was not only picture perfect but tasted incredible.
If you are looking for a professional caterer that not only serves the best food in the valley but truly becomes your friend. Call Cat - you will not be disappointed!

Cat was a dream! The food was amazing and her team knocked it out of the park. With the pandemic drama and realizing we had to postpone last minute on our March 28th date she helped me through rescheduling and was like a fairy godmother making sure we where taken care of. Her big hug at the wedding is something I will always cherish. The food was everything we hoped for and more! She even made sure we had some appetizers set aside for the wedding party so we would not miss out on them during photos. The personal touches on the food and guidance from beginning to end made the whole experience the least stressful part of the planning.

Where do I start...... First of all Cat immediately responded to my email regarding my inquiring. I wanted to use her services for our monthly office lunch and dinners. She accommodated all of our "picky" eaters and them some. I then used her for our annual Christmas Party. Now I feel that she and her team are part of our family. We have been using them for over five years and they have never let us down. You just don't have to use them for your weddings. She really is as nice as anyone can be!

My fiance and I had been planning our wedding for over a year and then he was given a notice to deploy overseas. We booked with Catherine for 2020 and I called her in a panic, because we had to get married before he left. Our wedding went from 200 people down to 45 people and in two weeks. She did not have the first day we picked available, as she was booked, but she said "why don't you get married on a Friday, and party the whole weekend with your family and friends". That was great advise and we took it! We found a venue and Catherine and her staff made it happen. I still don't know how it call came together, but it did. I am so thankful for you, Catherine and Patty your assistant. You took a very stressful situation and kept telling me, that it would be "okay", and it was. The food was great, love that chicken!! From the appetizers to the final late night snack of grilled cheese sandwiches, everything was perfect. I cannot thank you enough. From the bottom of ours hearts! We love you!! I hired Catherine site unseen. I live in another state and my daughter was getting married in Idaho. We had no idea who to use and I did some research and found Catherine. Thank goodness I did!! From the moment that I spoke to her until the day that I met her (the day of the wedding) she was on top of everything. She and her team made my daughters wedding perfect. If I could give Catherine 10 stars I would! Every step of the way, from working with my budget to her bubbly and flexible personality the day of, Catherine truly made the wedding and planning process easy and fun. Her passion for making your day the best it can be shone through in every conversation, every email. If I needed it, she made it happen! I was planning a wedding from afar, and I truly could not have done it without her. From managing the kegs to all of the table/chair/decor set up and take down, she (and her staff!) made the day a breeze. She also found me a new favorite bourbon! Don't forget to ask for her late night snack, grilled cheese and tomato soup - the guests raved about it! I can't thank her and her staff enough for their fantastic work and how much better they made our special day.

THANK YOU CATHERINE!!!!! I cannot say enough about Catherine, so I will try. First of all, she is so kind. We had a budget that we could not bend on. She made sure that we had options that our guest would love. We wanted the chicken Pel-Appino, because it is amazing and a beef option and with our budget I didn't think that we could get much. Well, I was wrong, not only did we get the food that we wanted, she even surprised us with a late night appetizer! She took such great care of us and treated us with respect. The food is crazy good and the service even better. Thanks to Catherine, Patty, Mini and the rest of them for making our day better than anything we could have imagined.

Catherine and her team are the best! My daughter picked Catherine, site unseen. Just based on the reviews. When I contacted Catherine and told her that my daughter wanted to use her services for their wedding, but my daughter lived in Montana and could not be available for a food tasting, Catherine said "no problem, do you want to come over"? She immediately treated me and my husband like family! She greeted us with a big hug and we sat down and discussed budget, food and wedding plans. I knew that we were with someone special. I understand that it sounds dumb, but trust me when I say, she took so much pressure off of us, that it made us enjoy our daughters wedding even more. We had a food tasting back in December, and when our daughter got married in June/2019, the food was even better than we had remembered. I cannot thank her and her team enough. I hope that everyone will read this and know, that no matter what your budget is, Catherine will take care of you! We love Catherine like she is a part of our family! Oh my gosh, I don't know where to start. From the minute I contacted Catherine, she was on it! I never felt pressured to book with here, but I knew that I would the minute I hung up the phone. She is so completely transparent about her prices, no "hidden" fees, just one price and I had everything I needed. The day of the wedding went perfect. The food was outstanding! My guests could not believe that this was "wedding food". The Chicken Pel-Appino is to die for, so is the Tri-Tip!! The women that work with her are the best hands down! She will not disappoint you at all! She and her team are the best hands down! I can't stop talking about her and will recommend her every time!

My husband and I were at a wedding for my best friend and we had Pel-appino catering for the first time. All I can say is amazing! The food was the best we had ever had at any wedding. The staff is so friendly. They would not let us move our chairs from the wedding spot to the reception. They did it for us, because they didn't want us to fall. Who does that? Their food is outstanding, they are so kind, another friend is getting married and she book Pel-appino for her wedding!! I can't wait until June. Catherine and her team are incredible! They did an amazing job bringing together our wedding through food. Not just any food though. Hands down the best food in the area! Catherine has a wide array of ideas for appetizers, and entrees. We were fortunate enough to have a grilled cheese and tomato soup bar which was a really clever and fun idea that Catherine helped us come up with.
What truly made our wedding so special was that she was willing to do a family style dinner where everyone remained seated at their tables while food was brought out to the tables by her wonderful staff. This made it so that the family could focus on the important parts of the wedding; being together and celebrating as a family.
I honestly cannot thank her enough for all that she has done for us.
We love Catherine and her crew and would highly recommend them.

I went to my friends wedding last weekend and I had the most amazing food that I had to write a review. First of all, Catherine and her team where so nice and amazing. The food was hands down the best that I have ever had at any wedding. The people at our table could not believe that this was "wedding food", it was out of a gourmet kitchen. The chicken is to die for!!! Even after all the food was served and the parting began, out came a tomato soup bar with grilled cheese sandwiches. No one could believe it. When I found out that Catherine was catering Jill's sisters wedding next year, I said put me down! I can't wait until I eat this food again.

I had Pel-Appino Caterings food at my friends wedding. I must say that hands down the best food that I have ever had at any wedding. Catherine and her team were so nice and accommodating. I can not say enough for Pel-Appino Catering. The food was amazing. The staff was was very helpful. At the end of dinner out comes this charcuterie board. It was amazing and wonderful.
I would recommend Pel-Appino catering for any event you won't regret it!

Catherine & her team are hands down THE BEST catering I’ve ever had. She & her team went way over & beyond on the food. And also did more than they should have. The moment I met Catherine I KNEW I was in good hands & I had no worries from the get go. She’s the most loving & caring person in the wedding industry I have ever met. Even the owner of our venue asked me where I found her because it was the best catering they’ve ever had there. Everyone is still raving about the food. :-) Catherine loves love & does this because she loves seeing two people come together & share their love & enjoys being a part of it. I would get married over & over again & have her & her team there EVERY SINGLE TIME!! She is now a part of my family no matter what. Catherine is amazing. She is passionate about food and is the best caterer I have ever worked with. She welcomed us into her home for our tasting and I couldn't be happier with the entire process for our wedding. She was there from start to finish and made sure everything was perfect for our day. I cannot recommend her enough. Her homemade spaghetti sauce is to die for, and our guests still rave about our food. Thank you, Catherine! You are FANTASTIC.

Catherine was so patient with our food request and was there for me the entire way! Our food was amazing, I recommend the chicken Pel-Appino, everyone wanted the recipe by the time food service was over!! She even cut the cake for us! Her staff was friendly and very accommodating. I will always remember how she took care of us and and held my hand the entire way! I will recommend her to my family and friends always. She really does treat you like family

I grew up in an Italian home with lots of food, yelling over people talking and more family members than I can count. At the age of four, my Papi built me a stool for the stove, and I started making "gravy" on Sundays with Nani. I can still remember the smells of Sunday, family day. Everyone gathered around the kitchen table, and no one left hungry. As I grew older, got married and had kids of my own I still carried on the traditions of my family and childhood, without the yelling of course. As a caterer, it is always my goal to bring my family traditions to your family!
