The Pendry Park City is an absolutely beautiful property and after visiting we knew it was the perfect place to host our many out-of-town guests. Unfortunately, working with the Pe...ndry was by far the most frustrating and difficult part of wedding planning. We used the Pendry for our room block and Disco Pizza for our after-party. We were supposed to use the pool house for our welcome party but had to cancel after signing the contract due to a miscommunication on capacity.
In addition to the issues with the welcome party, there were significant challenges with lack of communication and/or receiving incomplete or inaccurate information from the events team – particularly when it came to event costs. There were typos in contracts that luckily we caught before we signed. We were quoted $3 per welcome bag drop and then received a final bill that charged us $5 per welcome bag. Our guests also had frequent questions about when and why they were charged throughout the booking process. One guest also had their room cancelled at one point and when they reached out to ask why, they were rebooked for an incorrect number of nights.
I don’t believe that any of the mistakes were malicious but at the same time, when we were dealing with issue after issue after issue, it started to feel a bit like we were being taken advantage of and that we had to audit everything the Pendry presented to us, which was frustrating and unsettling as we worked through the rest of our wedding planning.
At the end of the day, the Pendry was a perfect property for our group but if I had to choose again, I would have to seriously reconsider. I must mention that the hotel staff was incredibly kind and helped make us feel very at home during the week we spent at the Pendry. Because of all our issues, they upgraded as many guests as they could and did try to make things right.
We expected high prices and it was not the cost of anything that turned us off, our biggest concern is that we always felt like we weren’t getting all the information (specifically around costs) and that it was on us to double-check for accuracy. I also wish that at any point, a manager would have reached out to help work through many of these issues.
If you choose the Pendry for any of your wedding activities, just know that you will need to review everything very closely, ask more questions than seem necessary, and get absolutely everything in writing.
