Importantly, my mother-in-law was battling cancer during our wedding and Penny respected her mask and health, but also was quick and in the right place at the right time to get fun candid photos of her smiling - not an easy feat! I just loved how they were really part of the party! The photos she gave us really balanced the fun, candid, and playful atmosphere of our wedding in a museum, while also keeping it a classy and timeless look. I couldn't be happier with both our experience at the wedding and the beautiful album of memories.

They were willing to get to our venue early and captured so many special moments prior to everything starting. They also professionally corralled our large families and efficiently shot wedding party group photos. The ceremony, reception, dinner, and party pictures were all splendid. We are still getting compliments on the photos! After the wedding, they got the photos back to us within the agreed to time and even were able to fix one photo where a family member’s eyes weren’t open all the way. All in all, we would highly recommend Penny and Earl!

We met Penny and Earl when they were working another wedding, and they were so awesome and friendly that we knew we wanted to hire them for ours. Penny Photography offers two amazing photographers and are available for the whole day for one set price. You do not have to sacrifice getting ready photos for only the bride, or worry about them leaving too early in the night. The less things you need to worry about throughout the day the better, and if you book with them, they will be there for you throughout the day. Their style of photos focuses on more of the candid shots than formal/stuffy shots which was what we were looking for. We like the style of photos of people talking, laughing and socializing with other wedding guests. People's true emotions of the day. We had an introductory Zoom call with Penny and Earl, after getting to know them within the first few minutes we discovered how friendly and personable they both are. After the call there was no second thought, they are the photographers for us! And, we were overjoyed that they wanted to work with us also. Leading up to the wedding, communication was smooth with finalizing the wedding timeline with what formal shots and group shots that we wanted. And, on the big day they were professional in organizing and providing direction that only comes with years of experience. And, a big shout out to them both for coming to the rescue and helping save the wedding dress after a herd of ants tried to make it its new home. They went over and above their duties. For this we are so thankful, they are simply the best. For weeks and even months after the wedding, we are still getting so many compliments from our wedding guests about both Penny and Earl. They fit in so well with all our family and friends, it's like we have known them for years.

with them. They had zero visible equipment issues and had all of the standard posed wedding photos down to a science. Additionally, by being able to blend in with our wedding party and guests so well, they were able to capture candid photos that would have otherwise been impossible. They are there when you want them to be (Rounding up family members for posed photos) and ghosts when they needed to be. I can't recall even seeing them during the ceremony and yet they captured everything flawlessly. I think I can safely say that picking Penny and Earl to shoot our photos was the second most important decision we made for the wedding right underneath deciding to get married in the first place.

Starting with our Adventure Session, it was a completely unique experience that is so different from what most photographers offer with an “engagement session”. We spent the entire day with Penny and Earl, traveling to four different locations from Willow River in Hudson, WI to Stone Arch Bridge in Minneapolis. It was an absolute blast! They were able to get all the different photos that we wanted while keeping the pace relaxed and fun. To this day it is one of our favorite memories of being engaged. Not to mention the fact that the photos were stunning – they looked like they came out of a magazine! We had so many to choose from for our Save the Dates and our family and friends raved about them for months. We quickly realized that booking with Penny Photographics was one of the best decisions we could have made for our wedding. The service was above and beyond what we expected, and Penny’s creativity and talent is hard to come by! The day of our wedding, Penny and Earl showed up early to scope out the venue and were incredibly organized and professional throughout the day! You could tell that they put a lot of thought and planning into the itinerary and photos, but never made us feel rushed or distracted. After getting to know Penny and Earl on a such a personal level leading up to the wedding, it was such a privilege to have them with us on our day as both photographers and friends. n the day of. They have amazing energy and made us feel like friends. They did great with all the family and little kids and WONDERFUL with our dogs. We have only seen the sneak peek so far but we are blown away with how beautiful the pictures are and that they captured our personalities so perfectly. With COVID things can be hard but they made sure everyone felt comfortable and didn’t push anything. They also really listen to us if we wanted a specific pose. I can’t say enough for them! By far best decision hiring them. We booked them mid 2018 and got married late 2020 and they were available to us THE ENTIRE TIME! Love them so much and will definitely be keeping up with their amazing work and hope to work with them in the future.

It's your wedding day! If you want a team that are going to be reassuring, fun, and remind you to take a breath and enjoy the day... Penny & Earl are perfect for you. (Side Story: the morning of my wedding I noticed the cleaners had stained a "large" section of the top of my dress that the hanger was hiding... when Penny walked in the room she was so reassuring that the stain, that I thought was THE WORST THING TO EVER HAPPEN, was not. She reminded me that this is not what I should focus on, that I will look beautiful no matter what, and that nothing should take away from what today is. After speaking for a brief moment with Penny I realized this stain was much smaller than I originally allowed myself to think and that she was correct; this is not the end of the world. In just that instance Penny unknowingly saved the day). If you want a team that CARES about you and is not just there for a paycheck then... Penny & Earl are perfect for you. - You do not want to have a mental checklist running through your head in concerns to your photos.. Trust me, you're going to have a million other details crammed in there you'll forget if you put on deodorant and probably apply it again another 3-6 more times. If you want a team that you can TRUST to have your photo list memorized, prioritized, and captured beautifully then Penny & Earl are perfect for you. - If you've ever been in a wedding party you know how excruciating those group photos can be... the waiting... the wishing you could enjoy the cocktail hour with all the other guests... it's cold, it's hot, you need to pee.... they can be the worst. But I can tell you that even in the 36 degree TEXAS freak weather our group photos were FUN. They went by quickly because of how efficiently Penny & Earl were. I'm not biased even my mom (who is cold in 70 degree weather) said she had so much fun that she didn't realize we had taken so many poses. If you want a team that is going to make the mundane FUN then... Penny & Earl are perfect for you. The photos were beautiful. I mean it.. BEAUTIFUL. I receive compliments on them daily (from social media) and in fact one of my photos is an award winning photo! YEAH.. THEY'RE AWARDING WINNING PHOTOGRAPHERS. I'm not sure how they were able to capture the laughter, tears, and LOVE in a still photo but they did. Looking through my photos I feel like the wedding was just yesterday. Again- I'd like to think that this review does Penny & Earl justice.. but it just doesn't. By far, the BEST decision we ever made was choosing to go with this fantastic team. I'm tearing up now only because I will FOREVER be grateful to Penny & Earl for not just saving the day but capturing it beautifully. Penny is a master at taking charge and supporting the couples wants and needs while Earl is there to support with his humor. We did an adventure session with them and they were so willing to make it the best - we started at our house in a southern suburb to capture some pictures with our pup (they are uber pet friendly!!) and then drove up to Duluth with us to capture pictures at waterfalls and Canal Park!!
