We hired Alicia of Pennywell Events to help us plan our wedding which we hoped to have in less than a year at the time. She came to us as a recommendation from a friend who had hired her for her own wedding, so the fact that we heard about her through word-of-mouth I think already speaks volumes for the incredible work she puts into wedding planning. From our first meeting, Alicia was on top of everything - she was incredibly organized, meticulous, responsive to all of our inquiries, resourceful...she was and is the whole package when looking for someone to help plan one of the most important events of someone's life. Thanks to her connections and recommendations for vendors, we were able to plan our wedding in the short timeframe we had and it was a perfect and beautifu day. I don't think we would have had such a great day if not for Alicia's hard work. I'd also like to throw in that her assistant, Alison, is also wonderful. We only worked with her on the wedding day, but she bustled my dress in a way that I didn't know was possible and made it look way better than the original bustle, not to mention she was so kind and just as on top of her duties as Alicia. I would 10000% recommend Pennywell Events to anyone seeking a wedding planner in the New Orleans area, whether seeking partial planning services or full planning services. She was a legitimate lifesaver and made sure everything with the wedding went extremely smoothly.

Alicia with Pennywell events did such an amazing job as our wedding coordinator. I hired Alicia around January/February 2025 for our March 2026 wedding. She was the coordinator for our friends that got married a year prior and she had nothing but amazing things to say about pennywell events. She was instrumental in helping me choose vendors, and keeping me on track with when I should have everything picked out. She’s extremely knowledgeable about all the vendors in New Orleans and made everything so easy! The wedding day was absolutely the most perfect day. Everything went SO SMOOTHLY and it’s all thanks to Alicia and her team. She kept everyone on track and my husband and I had absolutely no stress on wedding day because Alicia had everything handled. Truly cannot recommend Pennywell events enough.

Pennywell Events started off as just Alicia, the owner and solo planner. Alicia has a way of connecting personally with each of the Pennywell Events couples to give them the attention and dedication that each of their weddings needed. After a few years of working solo, it was time to expand and bring in additional members to the team that love weddings and that love love as much as Alicia does. The ability to give each couple the best experience on their wedding to be able to spend that time with family and friends and to know that they have an advocate there to handle everything without worry, is something that has always been part of how we handle every occasion. Today, as the Pennywell Events team continues to grow and expand, we hope to be able to help more couples to have the stress-free wedding experience that Pennywell Events LLC has become known for over the years.
Pennywell Events LLC offers multiple levels of service based on the needs for your wedding, from Full Wedding Planning to Event Management, also known as wedding coordination. Each of the planning levels of service include coordinating with all of your vendors while creating your personalized Wedding Day Timeline so that everyone works together as a cohesive team. My passion for planning started in 2011. I was planning my own wedding in New Orleans (my hometown), while living in Brooklyn, NY pursuing my fashion design career. Throughout the engagement period, securing all of the fine details - finding the best venue, the right lighting to set the mood, and the music to pull it all together - became even more crucial as I was planning from 1,300 miles away. After five years in the NYC fashion industry, I realized it wasn’t what I had hoped for. However, it did give this New Orleans native the opportunity to move back to Louisiana to work remotely (way ahead of the times). It also gave me the chance to expand my knowledge and eventually discover what I really wanted to do – plan weddings. Six-months post wedding, my then husband and I moved back to Louisiana to pursue new opportunities. I started working with a local wedding planner and dove head first into all that event planning had to offer. After working under the direction of professional planners for several years, I knew that I wanted to, and could, offer a professional and fun experience to anyone in the throes of planning an important life event. Today, Pennywell Events is available to assist couples in planning a unique and memorable wedding (or another important life event) without the overwhelming anxiety. I have experience in managing events for couples from Washington D.C. to California, and even that party city, New Orleans. For those that need a bit of wedding guidance without the in-person coordinator or planner, I also offer Wedding Consulting by the hour.

My first taste of event coordination began at an early age when I would attend conventions run by my grandparents. I would be perched at the registration desk with my parents, handing out drink tickets and name tags, reveling in the lively environment of cocktails, live music, and trade show booths. Fast forward to a young woman in college deciding on a minor to complement a Journalism major. I landed on Hospitality, with a focus in food and beverage, a decision which shaped the rest of my future more than the field of my Bachelor degree. I began managing restaurants before I could legally drink. I started in fine dining and steakhouses, and landed in a fast-casual Chicago restaurant that stole my heart and gave me almost a decade of enriching experience and memories. I met my partner at this Chicago restaurant. We ran the ship for years and eventually decided to pack up our things and seize the day, road tripping around the country for the better part of two years. We landed in New Orleans, where I started managing a bar in Uptown. On the side, I would also bartend weddings and other events, which is where I met Alicia. I approached Alicia on a whim, after bearing witness to her superb skills as the wedding planner: assessing the fine details, orchestrating the timeline of events, running around while keeping calm. I have to say, starting your wedding day off with rain and plan b and then plan c even for some things, but at the end of the night getting to make one of your biggest wedding wishes come true was the absolute highlight for me. I'm still sad that I made you cry even if it was joyful tears. My family and close friends don’t live in NOLA, so I was so grateful that she was a friend and support system for me during this time. She even came with me dress shopping and to my rehearsal dinner ❤️

y kind, patient, professional, attentive, and talks to you as a great friend would. After every call, she left us feeling calm, prepared, and excited for our wedding!
On top of her incredible personality, Alicia and her team are extremely knowledgeable and their vendor connections are invaluable. Just a few examples: During the planning process, she helped us book a wonderful hotel block (with a great price during a busy New Orleans spring festival season!) Alicia also guided us through booking a 2nd Line Band. It was challenging to find a 2nd Line route that worked with the police escort, but Alicia drew up the most PERFECT route and it worked flawlessly. Additionally, our families and bridal party were nervous about the processional, but Alicia did a fantastic job helping us all feel confident during our rehearsal. Finally, her detailed, thorough, and organized timeline was a lifesaver--We truly could have not done this without her!
The above examples are just a few things Alicia did for us, we could go on and on! She is so intentional and a great listener--There was no question or concern too small or silly for her. We know she did so much work behind the scenes and communicating with vendors to make the day smooth and stress free for us.
She truly wanted us to have a beautiful, thoughtful wedding and her hard work showed that. Her assistant, Allison, was also awesome and did a great job checking in on us throughout the wedding day--Thank you both!! We are so appreciative... Allison did an INCREDIBLE JOB coordinating our wedding at Antoine's last month! The amount of detail that goes into planning a wedding can be a daunting process but Allison guided us and prepared us every step of the way..we couldn't have done it without you!
She made herself available to us, answering any questions, alleviating stress, and truly preparing us for our big day. By the time the rehearsal and big day arrived, we truly felt at ease by going above beyond and ensuring that we were taken care of.

rash out elopement” so the guest count kept changing. She took it in stride though and she worked her butt off to deliver. I am truly thankful she was there from setting up vendors to ensuring all my paperwork was done, handling my final payments and setting up the church and reception area. Alicia came up with some fun ideas for the wedding to go from a second line parade to a trolly ride to the reception which my family and friends absolutely loved. She is an amazing planner and if I were to do it all over, I’d hire her again!

enue venue cancelled on us, we had to fire our first coordinator 6 months before our wedding, then 3 months before our wedding our second venue cancelled on us and we had to find a new location during peak wedding season.
Alicia came in and immediately found us venue locations and suggested vendors. She was on the ball and very detail oriented and made time for us whenever we needed to speak with her.
She even came and met us in the city on short notice when we were looking for a new venue and interviewed places with us.
She did so much for us and was so outgoing and we are so thankful that we found her. I can't imagine how our wedding would have went without her there.
We had a very complex timeline with LOTS of moving parts and she executed it wonderfully.
If you have any doubts, forget them!
She runs a tight ship and does an amazing job. I highly suggest her!

w I had found the perfect day of coordinator. As an out of town detail oriented bride, Alicia was my eyes and ears and gave me piece of mind. She is a wealth of professional knowledge and experience, but approaches all of her clients as if they were a long time friend. She listens to your vision, provides helpful feedback and insights all along the way!
She went out of her way to meet with us at the venue on a quick prewedding visit to touch base, and once I had established my vendors, she took over communicating and confirming plans for the big day! She kept us on track at our informal rehearsal; and on the day, she made sure everything (and everyone) was informed, coordinated and flawless! Knowing Alicia was managing everything from behind the scenes allowed my husband and I to truly enjoy the day! There aren’t enough words to describe the gratitude I have for Alicia! I am confident that while our relationship started out as coordinator and client/bride, I’ve gained a friend and we’ll definitely catch up every time we return to NOLA!

fore we hired her. We ended her services and went with Alicia at Penny well events we were skeptical but she put our minds at ease and it seemed like we clicked well. Especially Alicia and my now husband. With my stressful job my husband really took the reins on planning our wedding with Alicia's help. About 3 months away from our wedding our venue said they had no record of our reservation and couldn't do what was agreed upon. We immediately had to look for a new venue Alicia was on top of it with in the hour. She got us a really good deal and she agreed to even meet up with us on a weekend when she is busiest. We are living in Florida so she was a lifesaver showing us venues last minute and spending the day discussing our wedding. She kept us on track during the remaining 3 months. She was easy to work with and very organized. We pulled off a great wedding everyone said it was the best wedding they have been to. We had so much going on and Alicia was on top of it entire time and if there were mistakes no one noticed. Her and her assistant decorated beautifully and delivered everything at the end of the night I have no doubt our family and friends won't be forgetting our wedding any time soon. If you're doing a destination wedding to new orleans you definitely need Alicia from Penny well events.

Throughout the planning process she was always there to bounce ideas off of, run through the set-up, and talk me off the ledge when the stress would creep in.
She understood my little ideas and was able to string them together into a full cohesive vision. I will forever appreciate how kind and friendly she was from the very first day. She really helped ease the stress of the process.
Alicia was super hands-on and attentive to what we wanted, especially the months leading up to the wedding. She was available to meet up for coffee or dinner, to help put together bouquets (a million thanks for that!) and to answer any question I had.
Day of she was an all-star. Incredibly calm and organized. She made sure we never had to worry about a thing.
I enjoyed the whole process with Alicia and recommend her to anyone planning a wedding. She is truly wonderful.

She carried us over every hurdle and obstacle with grace, charm, humor and a steadfast calmness that made our planning experience seamless and fun. She pivoted when we needed to pivot and provided so much knowledge and resources.
We hired her for month of coordination but she truly went above and beyond and helped us every step of the way since the intro phone call. We Absolutely loved worked with Alicia from Pennywell Events and I am so so so grateful that we found her!!!!
She immediately made me and our guests feel comfortable and was so friendly, fun, organized, and kind. Even though I am a type a bride she acted as a vessel of information and helped us liaison between vendors, recommend vendors, manage contracts and she constantly checked in with us to make sure we had every detail planned. The day-of timeline she put together was phenomenal -- all of our vendors were so impressed!
On the day of the event, everything ran so smoothly and I was able to totally stay in the moment the whole time. Being able to put away my type a control freak hat and just enjoy every second of being a bride is something I will forever cherish and that was all thanks to Alicia.
Our only regret is not living in NOLA so we can send all of our friends and family to her- I would recommend Alicia to anyone and everyone!!!!

This is the biggest party either of us have ever planned so having Alicia's support and encouragement from the very beginning of this process was very welcomed. From our very first phone call she put us at ease and immediately emailed us a timeline for booking vendors and a recommended vendor list. When I was struggling to find a photographer she personally reached out to one of her contacts to ensure that she could move things around to be present for our big day. I can't overstate the importance of working with someone who knows this industry and has the network to be able to pull strings like this. Alicia kept detailed notes about all our vendors, maintained all the contracts, and did a fantastic job of executing my vision when it came to decorating the venue the day of the wedding. I am so grateful that Alicia and her team were there to help set up the day of the wedding because this allowed me to be fully present for hair/makeup with my bridesmaids and family. Our wedding day went SO smoothly. Me and my husband were able to fully soak in and appreciate all the love and magic in the room without worrying about a thing and I know this is because of all the hard work Alicia was doing behind the scenes. At the end of the night she made sure all our decor and clean up were taken care of so that we could leave and enjoy the after party. If you're the type of person that wants to have some level of control while planning your wedding but also wants to make sure you don't have to be stressed the day of or at any point in the process PLEASE book Alicia and Pennywell Events. It is one of the most important things we did to ensure our day was perfect and I'm so grateful to her and her team.
