Based out of Metairie, LA, Penton Studio offers documentary-style wedding photography. Owner and award-winning photographer Marlin Penton goes above and beyond for couples, helping to document their day so they can relive it for years to come. A Certified Professional Photographer, Marlin is happy to travel to to-be-weds throughout the Gulf South area.
Since 1990, Marlin has photographed more than 2,000 weddings. He blends documentary-style coverage with classic portraiture, creating a wide variety of snapshots. Marlin discovered his passion for this art while in high school, where he worked as a yearbook photographer. He also helped his father photograph weddings on the weekend, learning the best way to document such a special occasion.
Your wedding coverage with Penton Studio can start with an engagement photoshoot, capturing the beginning of this exciting new chapter in your lives. Wedding portrait sessions are also available. Marlin offers his photos as digital files and prints, as well as in keepsake wedding albums. This professional is happy to create a custom package to suit your unique needs and budget.

Marlin is a dream to work with! We had the best experience back in 2012. He was my photographer for my quinceañera! Marlin goes above and beyond to capture all of your precious moments! Through his work, you can definitely see that photography is his passion.
When it came time for our wedding we instantly thought of Penton Studio. All I can say is... WOW! The wedding album he created for us takes me back to our big day and I can't help but to get emotional as I watch our love story unfold.

I chose Penton Studio to be my photographer at my wedding on March 19th because they had done all of my baby pictures and did a great job. Marlin is a family friend and has done photos for us for years, so when it was time to get married there was no question who we were calling. We did a package deal that included engagement photos, formal bridal photos, and the wedding day. From the first photoshoot to the day of the wedding, he was fantastic. Committed, relaxed, and yet fully in control of what he is doing, Marlin provides a sense of absolutely perfect atmosphere no matter what the situation. He's always willing to hear your suggestions and ideas and is ready to snap away and catch those memories. To provide an example of how willing he is to work with you: two days before the wedding I picked up my large formal portrait that we were using at the guest table. I had picked the photo in a hurry and thought it was a good one at the time but when it was blown up, I hatted it. He saw this in my face and sat down with me at his computer and went through all of my photos, cropping and touching each one up to find the one I liked. He had the new one printed in time for the wedding, no problems at all. Marlin is the best and will make your whole experience magical.
Marlin from Penton studios was great. I gave him a list of the pictures I wanted taken before the wedding during and after and he made sure each one was done. I thought my pictures would take awhile to be edited but marlin called me a little over a week after saying they were done. I could not have been more pleased.
Marlin is an amazing photographer! He captured moments that were priceless. His work is beautiful and he was truly great! Not pushy like most photographers and he is quick and to the point which allowed us to enjoy our wedding! Highly recommended!
