different flowers we wanted for each part of our wedding and made the whole process feel easy and exciting.
About a year before our wedding, Alex took us to the flower market in NYC to show us what flowers would be in season around our wedding date. She walked us through the different options and explained which flowers worked best for bouquets, centerpieces, and everything in between. Seeing how knowledgeable and passionate she was made us feel so confident that whatever she created would be incredible.
And she absolutely delivered. My bouquet was stunning, and I'm still getting compliments on it more than a month later. Every arrangement felt thoughtful and intentional, and it was clear how much care went into every detail. The flowers were even more beautiful than we imagined and brought so much life to our wedding day.
Alex was an absolute joy to work with, and we are so grateful for everything she created for us. We would recommend her to anyone looking for an incredibly talented florist.
5 stars simply aren't enough for Alex and her team at Petals & Roots! So much of wedding planning can feel stressful and cumbersome, but not my floral consultation! I had so much f...
un chatting with Alex about our vision, who was extremely knowledgable about unique/seasonal flowers and greenery. She captured the vibe we discussed perfectly and our guests couldn't stop gushing over her work. You can tell after 2 minutes of speaking with her that she is absolutely in love with her work and is genuinely so excited to be a part of your big day - it's such a lovely quality that you don't get from every vendors!
I can't recommend P&R enough for literally any special event, they will blow you away. Though it's true that wedding florals aren't cheap, I felt P&R were completely worth what we budgeted for because of the incredible quality of the florals and their willingness to completely customize anything you like.
We loved working with Alex! She spent a good amount of time going over everything we wanted and was very transparent about different pricing options. She was flexible when we had t...
o adjust the number of people in the wedding party. And she chose magnificent flowers to complement our wedding attire for the ketubah, tables and mantle. Our guests were blown away by how beautiful everything was. We were, too!
We are honestly speechless with how perfect of a human Alex from Petals & Roots is and how beautifully she brought our vision to life for our wedding in September 2023. As a same-s...
ex couple, Alex made us feel nothing but loved and accepted from the very beginning. Wedding florals were initially not a top priority for us but we're so happy to have found Alex as she made our wedding absolutely STUNNING. Everything from our initial conversation to the million questions we asked along the way, the entire process was stressfree and Alex provided us with patience and total clarity on all of our questions/concerns both via email and over the phone. We knew which types of flowers we wanted but Alex also recommended others based on what was in season and the color palette we wanted, which was fun and bright. Petal & Roots pricing is competitive with other Tri-State floral vendors, however, we discussed our budget constraints with Alex and she was accommodating, working with us to create solutions without jeopardizing our vision. Her team was also amazing, setting up everything so efficiently before the ceremony and staying throughout the cocktail hour to make sure all the reception items were set up perfectly. When Alex arrived with our personals to the bridal suite, we were literally in tears seeing how beautifully she brought our vision to life, and meeting her was like seeing an old friend. We cannot recommend Alex and her team highly enough, and we will be forever grateful to have had her as part of our wedding day!

at advice throughout the process, and worked so attentively to make our vision come to life. There was a rush of guests taking flowers home at the end of the night, and we can't wait for more excuses to work with Alex again in the future. It was a pleasure working with her!

delivered. We do not have much knowledge about flowers, and we needed a lot of guidance. Alex was very helpful throughout this whole process and really made great suggestions. Alex and her team made our vision come to life. We had a ceremony arch built and our guests were absolutely in awe!
Alex & Team! Wow! Just WOW! From the first interaction through a few days before our big day, we knew we were in the hands of brilliant, sensitive, caring visionaries. Coming from ...
people who don't know a lot about flowers (us)... she helped guide us through our vision to make it come to life. And, made sure to get intimate knowledge of our venue to best offset our vision of old world meets modern. On top of that, she is a blast to talk to on the phone, and everyone who helped on the day of was attentive, kind, and responsive to any last minute changes (they even helped me tie my 'something old' onto my bouquet!). We couldn't recommend them more highly if you want that personal touch on your wedding day!

and and I were able to finally celebrate our marriage the way we wanted in 20222. When we began thinking about flowers, I immediately knew I wanted to work with Alex again. The entire team at Petals & Roots delivered a look for our wedding that PERFECTLY captured the vision we had for our wedding. Our other vendors even commented on how professional the Petals & Roots team were to work with. You will not regret working with Alex and her team on your event!!!

ing such a chaotic time. We are so grateful to Alex and her team for making our wedding dreams a reality!
Where do I even start with Petals & Roots? Alex is the sweetest, kindest, most talented florist ever. We were so lucky to work with her twice, first for our small backyard COVID we...
dding and then for our big event this past April. In doing so, we got to see all of her artistry and how she works based on the scale of the event. Everything she did for us - bouquets, boutonniĆØres, bud vases, big centerpieces, two SPECTACULAR chuppahs - which were incredibly unique and individual and extremely gorgeous - was meticulously thought out and executed. I love flowers, but we had to set ourselves a budget, and she was so easy to work with and stay on budget. Furthermore, she is just brilliant. I gave her my color palette, we talked about some flowers we liked and don't like, and then she did her thing. There was no confusion, no concern, no back and forth - she is just extremely talented. She also seemed genuinely excited for us! I'm getting a little teared up writing this review because we felt so supported knowing that Alex would be taking care of making our wedding so beautiful. I literally gasped when I saw the chuppah at our April wedding, I could not have imagined a more beautiful way to have a spring wedding - with cherry blossoms. You would be remiss not to use Petals & Roots for your wedding or next event. She is a genius and deserves all the recognition. Thank you times a million!
We can't express how happy we were with our stunning flowers from Petals & Rootsāeverything from the bouquets to the arrangements placed around the venue.
From the start, we felt ...
so comfortable working with Alex and the team. We knew she would help us bring our dream to life on our wedding day. Alex was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. We so appreciated her flexibility when it came we had last minute request to deliver the bouquets a bit earlier than planned and a request for loose flowers for photos.
You truly can't go wrong working with Alex and the team at Petals & Roots!

eam were so sweet and patient with me that day and I never forgot it. Fast forward to this year, not only were they able to squeeze us in during a very busy wedding season, but Alex was an absolute delight to work with and we put our full trust in her and her team from the start. Our wedding had turned into a unique situation where all the details really came together in the 11th hour, and even with several last minute requests and details, the final product was nothing short of incredible. Walking into our venue on the day of our wedding, seeing our vision had come to life, is a moment we will never forget! We are so grateful that they were with us from truly the beginning to the end of our engagement and wedding journey. It goes without saying that I will recommend this very special shop to anyone for years to come!
If you are planning a wedding, look no further. Alex and her team elevated the beauty of the entire day, and my daughter and I were blown away with all of the gorgeous arrangement...
s - the bouquet, centerpieces, wedding arch - every single arrangement was truly a work of art; so lush, varied, and the perfect combination of flowers. I am not exaggerating when I say that everyone I spoke with that weekend raved about the flowers and said how perfect they were. In addition, Alex was such a joy to work with - prompt and pleasant communication, and we could really tell that she listened to every suggestion and had great follow-up questions and ideas. A good portion of my youth was spent in a flower shop as my mother was a florist and our family once owned a shop, so the flowers were really important to me. I just kept thinking how pleased my mother would have been with everything. Thanks so much, Alex!!
Petals & Roots did the flowers for my wedding (two bouquets, four boutonnierres, and two corsages). Working with Alex was incredibly easy and the flowers were so beautiful. Alex ...
and I had a quick phone call and the end product was beyond what I could have imagined, especially with the perfect pricing. Definitely recommend!

a small budget for the wedding and they were very helpful in making sure I was able to get everything I needed. My bridal bouquet was so beautiful and even better than I could have imagined. I am happy that I have developed a relationship with P&R and they are now my go-to florist.
Alex and her team were wonderful to work with for our wedding! After a glowing review from our venue coordinator, I had no doubt in my mind Petals & Roots was the florist I wanted ...
to work with. We had two consultations before the wedding and they were both lovely. I wished I could go overboard with flowers, but spending a significant portion of our budget in that department was not in our cards, and Alex was understanding, sensitive, and came up with a creative plan to help us get the most out of our flowers. She was super thorough, creating several quotes for us to review and requesting inspiration photos to make sure she knew what I liked. She is super cool and understood my aesthetic immediately ā moody and boho, but still sort of romantic with lots of deep colors. My bridal bouquet was so gorgeous I wish I could crawl inside it and live there forever. My dad built a chuppah from branches in my parents' yard in Ohio, and brought all the pieces and assembled it on site. It was so meaningful to me to have this piece, and Alex and her team worked with my dad to adorn it with greenery and make the most beautiful "home" I could possibly imagine. They were flexible, kind, creative, and excited throughout the whole process and made us such lovely arrangements that created the perfect atmosphere for our special day. A million thank yous!
We loved Alex and the team at Petals & Roots! First off, Alex is truly lovely to work with. We asked her for a million quotes and she was super patient, professional, and easy to...
work with from the very beginning. For the best part, the florals were at our wedding were PERFECT. P & R was spot on with our style and the florals they put together were stunningāfrom delicate flowers around our chuppah to gorgeous big bouquets at the bar. We'll definitely work with them if we ever need a florist again!

ity allowed for a fun and seamless planning process. She was incredibly mindful of our budget and always allowed me to send her tons of inspiration photos. I was truly floored on the day of our wedding when I saw how everything came to life. Petals & Roots perfectly encompasses a personalized wedding experience with the utmost professionalism.

ing flowers - I wanted one specific flower to be dominant among all bouquets with a nice mix of other autumn flowers. I don't feel like they completely made that vision come to light but I was still satisfied with the finished product. There were parts that I loved but was a little sad that the flower that I wanted highlighted was just an accent flower. I wish I had seen a sample arrangement before receiving the final bouquets. The florist also mentioned that I would be measured for the cascading bridal bouquet, but she never followed up. In the end, the bouquet was very large and overwhelming. I feel like it covered a lot of my dress. The boutonnieres were my favorite. I loved the burgundy red flowers in contrast to the gray suits. Overall, I was pleased and I am sure all the flowers came out beautiful in the photographs.
We have lived in Astoria for many years and walked past Petals and Roots almost daily since they opened on 31st street. Going into the wedding planning, flowers were the 1 thing I ...
kept telling people I cared least about. But when we started working with Alex and her team, all that changed. They got me excited to create a vision for the day and helped me verbalize what I was looking for. For a period of time before the wedding, I was having these really odd dreams (nightmares) where I would walk into the venue and all the floral arrangements would be large puffy balls of baby pink and baby blue. It was so odd. But when we met with Alex, the silly dreams went away! My brain somehow knew we were in good hands. AND WE WERE. Somehow, they took the words that came out of my mouth and made them real. When I saw my bouquet in the morning, I actually had no words - talkative me was speechless. When we saw the dining room before dinner, I nearly tripped over myself in excitement. I COULD NOT believe how perfect it all looked and felt. I cannot wait for another reason to work with Petals and Roots!!!! THANK YOU!

rk are EXACTLY what they appear on social media. They are so fun, sweet, creative, accommodating, passionate, and welcoming. They have a very thorough inquiry form that helped me develop and consider my theme and budget. They also have a fantastic flare for florals and weāre able to blow me away. The amount of flowers, and arrangements we had for the amount we paid was beyond my expectations!! They delivered above and beyond my expectations. I even provided some of my own vases and the were in tip top shop through everything.
Alex has lots of fun ideas to share and is excellent at picking up the wedding vibe your putting down. I would recommend Petals and Roots to anyone, and I hope to find myself one day returning to the shop to pick up a little treat, or just to visit. The whole experience with them was a dream and left me yearning to go back to planning with them!! I canāt see myself having worked with another florist for my husband and Iās NYC wedding!ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø Nothing but love and well wishes to Alex and the Petals and Roots team!

pick up my order I had honestly forgotten what we had discussed and just trusted that they would be able to execute our vision. I was blown away on the day our wedding, everything looked beautiful and fresh and was more than I could have asked for. My bridal bouquet was STUNNING and the garland for our long farmhouse tables were perfectly done. They were also such a pleasure to work with. Book with them, you won't regret it and you won't have to worry about a thing!

final meeting with Alex and team they helped me pick exactly what I had envisioned. They were extremely conscious of budget and gave great recommendations of what I could cut out so that I could add additional details elsewhere. The team set up the centerpieces with flowers and other centerpieces with candles exactly how I wanted them and I didn't have to worry about a thing. I would highly recommend working with Petals and Roots!!
Loved working with Petals and Roots! They were super responsive, very nice, easy to communicate with, and delivered exactly what I wanted!!

ght us to Petals & Roots. Working with Alex and her team was nothing short of wonderful.
From the start, Alex made us feel warm, welcome, and like a part of her big Greek family. She openly & intently listened to and built off our ideas, sketching as our conversation went along and providing her expertise. It is evident that she is creative yet focused, with an outstanding knowledge of different types of floral. We knew the minute we left her shop after our initial consultation that they were going to be our decor vendor.
Getting married in an iconic building like Carnegie Hall, we wanted the decor & floral to enhance, not overpower the venue; Alex and her team understood that and worked tirelessly with our planner to make our dreams a reality. All the floral decorations for our ceremony, cocktail, and reception spaces were even better than we could have imagined. They were fresh & lush, meticulously made, reflected our modern style, and perfectly complimented each space.
Throughout the entire process, it never felt like a client-to-vendor relationship. Instead, we knew that Alex and her entire team cared deeply about making our big day special, and went above and beyond to make it a truly memorable evening. We couldn't recommend Petals & Roots more, they were just fabulous!
Alex and team took our fairly broad vision and brought it together with the perfect color combinations while including any specific flowers we requested. Our bridal party bouquets ...

ast minute changes, the entire team is so easy and fantastic to work with. Living in Astoria the last 6 years, Petals & Roots has always been our favorite go-to flower shop, if not one of our favorite local businesses. We wouldn't have trusted anyone else to work their magic on our wedding day.

julia are just a total pleasure to work with. they listened to us, figured out our vision (even when we couldn't articulate it) and delivered the most beautiful and unique combination of florals and greenery on our wedding day. our guests couldn't wait to steal our centerpieces at the end of the night (: save yourself the effort, and look no further -- you will not be disappointed.
Alex, Julia and Ali are such a powerhouse team - they were incredible throughout our entire planning process, bringing energy, personality, and INSANE talent to the table.
We didn...
't have a super clear vision for our flowers, and gave P&R creative freedom to execute one for us. This paid off ten-fold, because their taste is impeccable. They know how to translate your random Pinterest board and off-hand commentary into an absolutely stunning result.
P&R nails every last detail. From the flair in the groom's boutonniĆØre, to lush greenery wrapped around our chuppah, to the beautiful blooms in every bouquet and centerpiece, everything was perfect. Together, these details transformed our venue from a museum into a magical space for celebration.
Logistical things that matter (!):
- P&R will work with your budget. They were never pushy about adding on more, and totally accommodated us.
- P&R handles delivery and is always on time - from dropping boutonniĆØres and bouquets, to setting up at our venue, they were organized and showed up when you needed them.
- P&R also has items you might need! They have beautiful vases, a chuppah (which was stunning) and other stuff you don't need to buy.
If you're looking for a florist, look no further. These ladies are the best.
Working with Alex and Julia to order and create the bouquets and bouts we needed for our wedding was a breeze from the beginning. We werenāt too picky with color or design but what...

r with my champagne taste and Four Loko budget. I had a very unrealistically low budget on flowers and almost decided to not have them at all. Alex & Julie patiently answered all of my questions and not once turned me away. They said they could always do my bouquet if we decide to move away from having flowers at all as centerpieces/decor.
When I finally decided on flowers, I only ordered my bouquet, boutonnieres and corsages for our wedding party. I told Alex that I wanted the simplest white roses and eucalyptus. It was simple and I knew Iād like them. Come wedding day, the flowers arrived early and I was so surprised to see this beautiful arrangement. Alex & Julie remembered the flowers from my wishlist from months before when I first inquired about their prices and services. I was truly touched that they remembered my favorite flowers and had incorporated them. Thank you so much, Petal & Roots, Alex/Julie. Youāve made our wedding day extra special. (pictures to come)
Absolutely loved my experience with them! I didn't have super strong ideas or concepts and just gave them so general colors and flowers as a guideline and they took it from there!...
Everything was perfect and so beautiful. Their staff is easy and creative and so, so polite. Love them!

beautiful work, and take on more than the typical vendor does.
Julie worked with me on short notice, was diligent, detailed, and was a breeze to communicate with.
Alex was on site day-of the wedding. Her and her team created beautiful bouquets, arrangements, and an arch on site. During the blur of the day, I saw Alex helping the other vendors organize and perfectly position everything. She went above and beyond and you can tell this is a team that is truly passionate about what they do. If these words aren't convincing enough, see photos of their work!

y out our vision, get creative direction (which we desperately needed) and feedback about what was in season, in budget etc. Alex came up with creative ways to make our budget stretch the furthest. We had petals & roots do our chuppah, bridal and MOH bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces (with candlesticks), and more! Alex was there day-of to hand deliver my bridal bouquet to the hotel, with her team on-site at the venue building the chuppah, discreetly de-assembling the chuppah post-ceremony and then repurposing those florals for our sweetheart table. Alex also stepped in while I was waiting for our āfirst lookā and helped keep me cool while I was melting on an uncharacteristically warm October day (they do it all!)!! We live in Astoria and it was so great to work with a local business, even though our wedding was outside of NYC. If youāre looking for creative, beautiful florals look no further!!
