Petals, Custom Wedding Flowers

Sue did an amazing job on our wedding flowers. I remember taking a look at the chapel before the ceremony and being blown away at how lovely it was. My bouquet was stunning as well. Sue was very open to my ideas and offered many great ideas of her own. She was also reasonably priced and was conscious of our budget when picking flowers. She was a little bit hard to get a hold of at times and we had some challenges with getting her to update our contract when there were changes. But she did a great job on the wedding day, so we would recommend her.

Choosing Petals to be our wedding day florist was one of the best decisions that we made. We came in with a very general idea of what we wanted, and basically just told Sue our color scheme and that we wanted natural feeling flowers. As she was brainstorming during our first meeting and as she was sharing ideas with us, she seemed to be getting really excited and we thought “She’s the professional, so we’ll go with what she thinks will be best!” Tina was the designer who designed and delivered our wedding. What we got on our wedding day were the most gorgeous fall flowers I have ever seen. All of the different colors in the flowers added such a pop to our wedding day, and they look absolutely beautiful in pictures. Tina nailed the natural feel, and added different berries, leaves, and other elements to all of the arrangements. Well into the planning process, I asked if we could add some special buttons to my bouquet and my mom’s corsage, and she happily accommodated that request. Everything on the day of the wedding went perfectly- our flowers were delivered on time, and moved seamlessly from the ceremony space to the reception after our ceremony. We are so thankful that we chose Petals!

I am so thankful for Sue, she is such a wonderful woman! I remember researching florists and skimming through 100+ and thinking how do I pick the right one. I came across Petals through The Knot and saw her beautiful portfolio, the arrangements and bouquets she had done were just so breathtaking. I remember searching many examples of different bouquets and colors within our wedding colors and just being not quite sure how they would turn out. The day I was to meet Sue, I brought my mother with and I remember telling her when we left that Sue made me feel at ease, excited and I trusted she would do an amazing job! Best flowers, ever! Sue is so talented and her work is beautiful. I approached her with an idea and she completely brought it to life, which included custom-making all the ornate gold flower holders - it was stunning. She was so supportive leading up to the wedding - we met with her multiple time and each time she got me so excited! She is so passionate about her work. On the day of the wedding, Sue was there ALL DAY - she was at the church before everyone assembling the beautiful flowers on the pew, then brought everything to our reception (which looked STUNNING), and was there to take everything down at night. I would recommend Petals to every bride - having Sue as my florist was one of the best decisions I've made.

I was the maid of honor in my sister's January wedding. Sue did such an amazing job with the winter flowers. They were beautiful! We received so many compliments from guests on the centerpieces and bouquets. Her attention to detail & work ethic was highly appreciated. Sue is so talented! Thank you!

Sue and her assistant did an AMAZING job on all of our wedding flowers. I was not a bride that wanted certain flowers and was going more for a rustic, fall look. Sue exceeded all our expectations and created the most beautiful, unique flowers I have ever seen! She even set-up small vignettes in pouring rain outside our ceremony space and moved them inside to our reception space afterwards! We was such a joy to work with and we feel very lucky to have found her!

Sue's great to work with! Great ideas and flexible with things! Worth every penny! She helped me so much at the ceremony too... her repurposing from church to venue was perfect!

Sue was a pleasure to work with. I showed her what I wanted and she was upfront and honest about what flowers would cost the most for a December wedding. Her prices fit into my budget (much less than I was anticipating)! She also includes a free "toss" bouquet and tries to make flower that transition from ceremony to reception so you are not spending a fortune for different pieces. She also only does 2 weddings in a weekend, so she is really focused on your event making sure everything is exactly how it should be. I cannot wait to see what the final product will look like!

Sue was amazing! She took what I envisioned and ran with it! Her flowers were absolutely stunning! She met with us multiple times, really listened to what we wanted, and had great ideas to accomplish what we wanted, while keeping us within our budget. Sue came to the church to set up, pin flowers on the wedding party, she even gave my wedding dress a final fluff in the back before I walked down the aisle! Not only did she do all of that but she also transported all of our flowers from the church to the reception venue. The day went perfectly and I'm so thrilled we went with Sue, because she made our special day gorgeous and a success! We can't thank her enough!

Sue did a great job on my bouquets for my wedding on 09/09/16. She really heard my ideas and made them happen. The bouquets were beautiful and were exactly what I wanted. Sue was a delight to work with and we would absolutely recommend her services to any couple looking for an affordable florist. She was able to listen to our needs and create gorgeous centerpieces and florals for our special day. We had so many small detials and special elements that we wanted to incorporate into the design and she did an amazing job. She was also very flexible when changes needed to be made to the number of corsages we needed and even threw together a last minute corsage at the ceremony for a VIP guest that showed up unexpectedly. The only reason I am giving 4 out of 5 stars for quality is because towards the end of the night the flowers were beginning to far apart but I do think that is expected, so I was not disappointed at all, especially because it was a hot day. I would highly recommend Sue Essig and her company Petals.

Sue, the owner of Petals, is amazing. I'm a big Disney lover and I wanted to have a subtle Disney theme to the wedding. My idea was to have different elements of the wedding represent various princess movies, in a classy way. Sometimes Disney weddings can come off as tacky, and that was the last thing I wanted. I love garden flowers and roses, so I wanted to use those in our bouquets and then for the centerpieces, I wanted to represent the movie Beauty and the Beast. When I met with Sue for the initial consultation, I had the beginnings of an idea for centerpieces, which involved a rose under a glass dome, flowers in teapots, and candelabras. Sue was able to flesh out my ideas into something that was beautiful beyond words. My mom and I talked with another florist before meeting Sue, and that person treated my idea like the work in being creative wasn't worth the effort and she'd rather just put expensive flowers in a pretty vase. She wasn't excited to be doing something different. Sue, on the other hand, looked like she'd been stuck by creative lightening once she understood my idea and made me feel like it was the best idea she'd ever heard. Whether or not that was the case, it still meant a lot to me that she was willing to go the distance and think out of the box in order to help me achieve my vision for the wedding. Everything was beautiful and I couldn't have been happier with how all the flowers turned out. The teapots were featured as both aisle decorations in the ceremony and centerpieces at the reception. We had a floral archway that perfectly framed my husband and I in many of the photos. My bouquet, the bridesmaids’ bouquets, and the boutonnieres were exactly how I wanted them. And the Beauty and the Beast centerpieces stole the show. In a word, they were elegant. In case it's not obvious, I highly recommend Sue (and Petals) for anyone who wants a florist who is dedicated, creative, and produces beautiful floral arrangements.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Petals, and working with Sue Essig. She exceeding my expectations on all levels and I was SO HAPPY with the flowers!!! Not only did she make the flowers to be exactly what I wanted, but the day of my wedding was hot and humid, so she had prepared extra bouquets and boutineres for ALL of the bridesmaids and groomsmen, at no extra cost!!!! Sue is absolutely wonderful to work with, and you can tell that she wants to make your day just how you imagine it.
