We did an adventure engagement shoot in the Columbia River Gorge with Peter and the photos are my favorite. We have received a sneak peek of our wedding photos (as we just recently got married). His photos are real, in the moment, and have an eye for creativity. Peter is so fun and a talented photographer! We can't wait to see the rest of our photos and short video!

Booking Peter Mahar Photography was the best decision we made. I can't even begin to describe the amount of joy, excitement, calmness and artistry that Peter and Ben bring. Our engagement session with Peter was incredible. The moments he was able to capture were amazing and the outcome was awesome. He made our photo shoot feel like the most amazing adventure. Peter and Ben shot our wedding and WOW. Just WOW. I feel so lucky that I was able to have Peter and Ben shoot our wedding. The pictures we got back were not only in a timely manner, but they were unreal. I can't stop looking at them. Every picture is filled with emotion and a story from our day. Peter and Ben do more than just take pictures, they capture moments, emotions, and write a story with every image. And let me tell you, they are some of the best story tellers around. We love them and I want to give them a million stars.

Peter and Susannah were a phenomenal team and captured our wedding in the most perfect light. Our pictures turned out better than we could have ever hoped and I would recommend them for every wedding/engagement (they did both for us). Reasons why we love them-- 1) The pictures they take are top notch. It took my husband and I hours to figure out which ones we wanted to put up around the house because so many of them were brilliant. The quality and style is unrivaled 2) Their style of capturing the wedding is authentic. Peter and Susannah do a great job of capturing the "in between" moments that really tell the story of the day. Of course they include the standard family and bridal party pictures, but so many of the pictures really capture the vibe of the day. It's the tiny moments without any of the theatrics that are some of my favorites. They found a way to capture the personalities of us, our families, and our guests 3) Their teamwork and ability to help lead you through the flow of the day are second to none. On the day of the wedding it felt hectic and I wasn't 100% sure where I should have been or what I should have been doing at any given moment. Peter and Susannah helped us with our schedule and walked us through the entire day effortlessly. This was great because I never had to worry about where I had to be next 4) They are just great people will incredible talent. When were first met them, they took us out for drinks so we could feel out if it was a good fit. Right off the bat you could tell that they love what they do and they love to do it together. This was important to us and the connection we felt with them solidified they were perfect for shooting our wedding. The photographers are there for every little moment of the wedding, so you want to make sure you feel comfortable around them and enjoy their presence. Peter and Susannah exceeded our expectations Would highly, highly recommend!

Peter and Susannah are some of the most incredible people I have ever met. We felt so incredibly lucky and blessed to have them photograph our special day. They truly captured the spirit of our wedding day and I think it’s because they just love their jobs so much. Their positive energy brought out the best in us and we felt at ease taking pictures. It was so much fun! They also went above and beyond for us. Peter delivered my wedding dress to the venue after one of the buses broke down and Susannah was grabbing me water all while taking incredible pictures. Seriously these people are magical. I still can’t believe they exist. I will also say they are super professional. They were always on top of any questions I had and kept you update to date on everything. I wish my husband and I could get married one more time just to work with them again! I honestly cannot say enough good things about Peter & Susannah. My husband and I live in New York, and were planning our wedding in Portland, which is where my family resides. While it's home, it felt like planning a destination wedding. We were immediately struck by their portfolio. All of the photos were gorgeous and had a common thread: The pure joy and emotion in all the photos. Everyone looked just so HAPPY. I feel like you see a lot of wedding photographer portfolios, and they're generally filled with what I call "Wedding Glamour Shots," where the bride looks like she's trying to be a delicate model in Vogue and the husband is just kind of an accessory. When thinking about what I wanted in my wedding photos, this was not it. I'm not a stunning model bride. I'm not delicate. It'd be a joke to hang these photos in my living room. We knew they had our style when we saw the stories they were able to tell in photos. We initiated contact, and since we were 3,000 miles away, Peter and Susannah actually got on Skype with us to feel each other out. This really set the tone for our relationship with them. I've gotta say, after all is said and done, not only did they deliver absolutely amazing photos, but they continually exceeded our expectations. From regular communication, to meeting with us in person to create a timeline, they went out of our way to make us feel like we were their only clients. On the day of the wedding, they were so much fun to work with, and immediately made us feel at ease. They are both hilarious. And major props to Susannah, who photographed the entire day while being very pregnant, and didn't complain once. What a trooper. Their photographic style is along the lines of "Do your thing and we observe" with just a dash of "Hey, try putting your hand in your pocket." None of the "Stick out your neck, now tilt your head to the left, no the other left, up, up, up, now down just a hair, hold still....and....great!" Our photos came out looking natural, joyful, and fun, and 100% absolutely captured both our personalities and the feel of the day. I also would like to note how efficiently these two work. Within days of our wedding, they had posted many highlights of our wedding to their blog, which was so fun to see during our mini-moon. And less than three weeks after our wedding, we received all 800+ of our high-resolution photos. How many wedding photographers do you know of that actually finish a project this big in less than a month? Stunned. Also, being the non-model I am, I was worried the highlights would be the best of the best. How wrong was I? Every. Single. Photo. Was as good or even BETTER than the highlight reel. To add to this, they really brought it with the details. I was expecting our thumb drive of photos to come in a padded envelope. Instead, it was packaged inside a lovely box with notes, directions, and goodies. Peter and Susannah have really made us feel like we are the most important people on earth, and what bride and groom doesn't love to feel like that? I will absolutely cherish these amazing photos forever, and each time I look at them, I tell myself how we hired the right people and that they were worth every--and I mean every--penny. I can't recommend this couple highly enough.

I seriously cannot give enough praise to match what Peter and Susannah deserve. Not only are their photos breathtaking, but they are the most amazing people you could ever hope to have helping you with your big day. Their personality and friendliness brings out the best in you making for great, unique photos. Just reading their website, you can feel how much they love, love. Hiring them was the best choice we could have made! Neither my fiance' (now husband) or I have ever been to Oregon. They went above and beyond their duties as photographers and helped give advice and organize our destination elopement. Again, there will never be enough I can say that can explain how great these two are. If you don't hire them, you are MISSING OUT!

Where do I even start with this couple...they are AMAZING! My fiancé and I had set up a few meeting with difference photographers but as soon as we met Peter and Susannah we knew we wanted them to shot our wedding. They have a great energy about them and you can tell they love what they do...and each other very much! They both made us feel like they where as excited as we where that we where getting married! I think it's safe to say we had a couples crush on these guys! I told them what our budget was and what I wanted and they created a package that was exactly what we wanted in our prize rage. At first I didn't think I needed engagement pictures done but I am so glad I did because they turned out sooo good and I can't even tell you how many compliments we get on them. The two of them made us feel extremely comfortable and where able to really capture who we are. No stuffy, stiff posed pictures...they got real Smiles and real emotions from us. On our wedding day they both came about 2 hours before we had originally scheduled them so they could make sure to get some "getting ready pictures"....and all they wanted for that extra time was some lunch! Are you kidding me..who does that!!?! They did because they are AWESOME! All of our wedding party had a blast with them...i have never seen guys so pumped to take pictures!Your wedding day is full of emotions that you normally don't show the whole world but Peter and Susannah are so respectful of the day and all the emotions that come with it. These two are amazing photographers and amazing people. I will always recommend them and continue to use them in the future.

Peter and his wife Susannah tag teamed our NW outdoor wedding and did an absolutely phenomenal job from start to finish! I would recommend them 1000 times over! Beautiful photos, organized, and great vibes the whole time- so fun to work with!

We had the great privilege to work with Peter for our engagement as well as our wedding day photography. From the very beginning, Peter invested his time and energy to get to know us personally and understand our photography desires. Throughout the wedding planning process, he was available to help to offer advice or answer any of our questions. And we could not have been happier to have Peter around on our wedding day! His positive energy and enthusiasm was just what the day needed to keep things light-hearted, while his professionalism and preparedness kept us on schedule. We had countless friends and family raving about Peter's professional, friendly, and fun personality. Not to mention the pictures are BEAUTIFUL! Peter captured all of the highlights of the evening, as well as those little details and special moments in between. He has a special gift finding unique perspectives and his friendly demeanor puts everyone at ease. Thank you, Peter, for capturing our special day so beautifully. I am so glad that I chose Peter to do our wedding photos. I was suppose to have a friend whose pictures have been in National Geographic do our photos, but I was worried about the communication aspect. Anyone can take a great photo with today's affordable DSLR's, but it takes someone very special to communicate to a group of strangers and bring out their best. I had a mixed group of people where some were rowdy and others were shy. I wanted a photographer that communicated well and brought out the best in people. Peter was absolutely perfect! He communicated beautifully and kept us on schedule. I loved his level of professionalism. I immediately felt comfortable and trusted his creativity. He had a variety of equipment and was so discrete about it. He captured my big day in a sleek and stylish way without looking like a tourist. He also did a great job resisting the multiple drink offers. I had a prohibition themed wedding at a relaxed resort, and it got a little crazy to say the least. Peter is such an awesome guy! I feel honored to have met him early in his career and excited to watch his business grow. Those super expensive photographers that you meet at the bridal shows have some serious competition from Peter!

It's a big title to live up to, but Peter was wonderful to work with. He was flexible, understood what we were looking for, professional, polite, friendly with our guests, hardly noticable for pictures during the ceremony which is a great talent, he was fun to work with on the day of and even when picking our pictures for our album. His pictures of our wedding day are amazing! Great quality and such an artistic eye. Concerning price, he is reasonable, affordable, and so worth more than he charges, really. I also know and appreciate he is a man of integrity which in the world of business, even wedding business, is a wonderful attribute.

Peter won't get any constructive criticism from over here! I loved everything he did. There was not a single downside that I can think of. I especially liked: -His commanding attention when it came to formal photos, and how efficiently they were completed. -His attention to me, the stressed bride. Phone calls the day and week before, making sure we were on the same page about every thing, and following thru with every promise. -the thank you box he sent with coffee. Personal, kind, thoughtful. I have recommended Peter to everyone I know who is getting married and I am so thankful he did my wedding! Worth absolutely every penny, this photographer delivers a lot. He is calm, collected, authoritative, and professional. He is extremely creative, and got many shots I would never have even thought to ask for. I'm glad I didn't ask, because having him use his own creativity and skill delivered better results then I could have dreamed of. I especially loved all my reception pictures, with many, many candid lovely photos of my friends and family enjoying a party, dressed up in their best clothes. There are not enough nice things to say about Peter. He was very professional and has a lot of integrity. He made everyone feel very comfortable and the pictures of my wedding are fantastic! I could not be happier with how everything turned out.

As a photographer, Peter Mahar brought more to the table than what his role designated. His optimism, professionalism, energy, cheerfulness, dependability, and caring attitude towards every person that day contributed to an atmosphere of fun and relaxation- a lot of laughter and very, very little stress. Before the wedding, Peter discussed with Ben and I what we wanted out of our wedding day. Peter actively listened, asked us a lot of questions, and offered good advice for the timing and location of pictures. Before the wedding, he scouted out several great locations where the lighting and the scenery looked good. We had loose plans for locations because of an unpredictable weather forecast, but Peter worked with what we had, and made it amazing! We got the pictures almost immediately after we got back from our honeymoon. Peter also had included prints of family shots in with the CDs: he really knows how to go above and beyond! After seeing them all, I couldn't believe how fantastically they had all turned out: the lighting and locations were all perfect, and Peter got every single picture I wanted! It really amazed me, considering how huge our wedding party was, that he was able to deliver such a personalized shot list. Peter is incredibly timely, efficient, patient, adaptable, eager to please, and down to earth. Looking back now, it is incredible what a huge part of the day the photography played, and I couldn't think of anyone else I would have entrusted those special moments to. I had no doubt Peter would do a great job for us, but he by far exceeded any expectation I had. If you want a photographer who goes above and beyond your expectations, who brings his 110% to your day, who can capture you at your best and happiest moments, and whose work is professional and artistic, you want Peter Mahar!

Peter is awesome. All of our photos turned out great. Peter did above and beyond what I expected. Some folks that attended the wedding called him a "ninja" because he was everywhere documenting every moment. I would highly recommend Peter to anyone, you wont be disappointed!
