Peter from Peter James Floral Couture did a beautiful job with the floral designs for my wedding. He was able to bring our vision of a romantic fairytale wedding come to life. Peter made our ceremony come alive with his Garden Boho design and kept the theme throughout our reception. My friends and family are still raving about how beautiful my bouquet was, and that’s all thanks to Peter. Peter was easy to work with, and answered all of my questions with quick responses. Peter totally went above and beyond our expectations for our ceremony and reception designs. Peter helped make our wedding day magical, and cannot thank him enough for everything he did.

I want to start by saying that I am not very experienced with flowers. This can be seen from how last minute I was for my wedding (getting the florist was one of my last items- only 5 months prior- ahhhh!!). From the moment I met Peter I felt like I knew him for years. He made me feel so comfortable and excited by his obvious work ethic and passion for his job. After showing a few pictures on Pinterest, he knew exactly what I wanted and helped me craft my vision for my summer wedding at The Channel Club. He took time to go through each part of the wedding that would need flowers and suggested having a rose for the mothers, to symbolize how much their love has impacted my husband and myself as people. This was such a great decision that my mom still brings up. The day of the wedding, Peter arrived at The Channel Club ready to go with all the floral arrangements and decor, to bring the beautiful light and airy, blue hydrangea vision to life. Everything looked even more amazing than I could have imagined! He uses his years of experience and dedication to deliver a personalized and elegant atmosphere to the wedding. Therefore, I would highly recommend Peter for any flower/ wedding needs you may have. He is absolutely fabulous and I feel lucky to know him!

Peter James is simply the best florist to hire for your wedding period end of story - don't look any further. If we could give more stars we would. When we first met Peter we walked away with so much confidence that we could put our trust in him to be the florist for our wedding. Peter gave us exotic centerpieces, a breathtaking Chupah, gorgeous flowers for the bridal party, and a romantic sweetheart table. The arrangements were all very unique and made the entire room warm and come alive. Peter uses a lot of creativity to make everything look amazing and exceed your expectations. Peter James was the florist for our wedding at the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel on August 25th. He was amazing! He immediately understood my vision and brought it to life. I felt he was professional, accommodating, and provided beautiful arrangements at a good value. When I got my first estimate from him I was actually pleasantly surprised at the cost for what he provided. Unfortunately, my budget was very low at that point (I waited less then 2 months before my wedding to link up with him!) but Peter was understanding and was able to work with my budget and still delivered a beautiful package without compromising the look. Everyone at the wedding raved about the floral arrangements and I always felt I was in good hands. I even referred to Peter when I was selecting my table linens with my caterer and even needed him to provide table numbers for me last minute and he made it happen. I would refer him to anyone! My husband and I can't put into words how perfectly Peter, Tommy and the staff at Couture Events planned and executed our wedding. They made our day better than we could have ever imagined. The gazebo, aisle, bouquets, reception tables, cake and sweetheart table (along with everything in between) were absolutely STUNNING. We were married in April and our guests are still talking about how beautifully it all came together. The best part was all I had to do was show Peter a picture of my dress, he immediately picked up on my style! He organized and designed our entire wedding with barely any questions asked (which worked perfectly with our busy schedules). Overall-so accommodating, pleasure to work with, affordable, flawless work and terrific employees! Guaranteed to be satisfied with this group.

Peter James was the best florist we could have asked for. We were referred to him and came into his shop not knowing a single thing about flowers. He confidently lead us in the right direction after looking at our dresses and color scheme. He chose flowers that were so reasonably priced and we didn't have to spend a fortune. On our wedding day, our flowers looked beautiful. We were extremely impressed and will use him again for our florist needs!

I am an event planner by trade. I used Peter James for my wedding because he is the florist contracted at the Berkeley in Asbury Park. If you really do your research and look at the negative reviews for Peter James, you will see the truth about his floral arrangements. To this day I look at pictures of my wedding and I get upset because not only did he skimp out on flowers for the bouquets, but they were the completely wrong flowers all together! The flowers were bright, hot pink when I was told they would be dark magenta/burgundy. The bridesmaids bouquets were 3 inches wide (so small - 3 small roses each bouquet) and were falling apart, and he completely forgot the diamonds in the roses of my bouquet. He dropped the flowers off late, as we were rushing out the door to the church, so when we told him they were wrong there was nothing he could do at that point. He also dropped of the boutonnieres so late that none of the before pictures of the guys show any flowers whatsoever. He said he added flowers to my centerpieces to make up for the mistakes, but they were so small (even with the "extra flowers") I don't know what I paid for! I told him I wanted a partial refund for AT LEAST the missing fake diamonds.. after several ignored emails he finally responded and was extremely nasty and unprofessional.. 2 years later and I never received any sort of refund. He did say he provided me the amount of flowers I paid for - but I use celebrity florists for my events who provide better quality & quantity flowers at better rates! There are SO many amazing florists on the Jersey Shore.. please do your research before hiring Peter James - and if you do end up using him, make sure that he shows you a COMPLETED centerpiece and bouquet sample before your big day! Too many of my friends who were married at the Berkeley also had issues with Peter James.. it's a shame.

There were plenty things I knew I wanted for my wedding, flowers was not one of them. Walking into to meet Peter James, I was embarrassed that I had no clue what he was talking about when asking me about flower choices. Peter James was SO patient, showing me different types of flowers and options that I could have for my wedding day. He has a talent that is undeniable. A month before my wedding, he sat down with my fiancé and I to show us what our center pieces would look like. He was also able to incorporate my colors into the girls bouquets. The day of the wedding, Peter James was to prepare an arch for us on the rooftop of our venue. Unfortunately, the wind gusts were a bit much. Peter James, was so kind and said he would do whatever we wanted, meaning if we wanted the rooftop he'd work his magic. If we opted to stay inside, he would construct inside. When you select Peter James as your florist, you get experience, passion, and honesty. Thank you, Peter James for making our wedding beautiful!

Peter was awesome and funny. He did a wonderful job with my bouquet and girls bouquet as well.

I am so thrilled with our floral arrangements for our wedding. OR should I say "non floral arrangements. Strange request but Peter James supported my decision to go with absolutely no flowers. We have beautiful large greenery arrangements on all the tables, and requested that only he make my bouquet. My bouquet was beyond amazing!! Cascading greenery, big and beautiful!! Peter was so friendly and responded to all questions immediately. We could not be more thrilled with how everything came together!

From the first time we sat down at Peter James Floral Couture we knew we found the best company to help us plan our big day. At the time we had several ideas of floral arrangements for the bouquets, corsages, boutonnière and centerpieces however we had little knowledge about flowers. Peter James took our ideas and instantly created beautiful arrangements. His creativity and passion shows through his work. Peter James demonstrated his expertise and hard work and it was truly captured in every floral arrangement he created. Our families and friends were blown away by the beautiful touches. Wonderful, professional, experienced and full of great ideas are few of the words I would use to describe Peter James. He listens to you and provides ideas and options. He definitely knows what he is doing , and puts you at ease. I had no idea as to what I wanted and Peter James just explained and showed me what he thought I wanted and he hit it out of the ball park. Simple , elegant and beautiful. I loved all my flower arrangements and bouquets. A little pricey but worth well worth it.

I was very happy with my decision to go with Peter James for all the flowers for my wedding. When I first went to see him I had no idea what I wanted to do. I'm not very good with flowers, so I really needed to put my faith in someone who knows what they are doing. Peter was that person. I described my dress and well as the colors of my bridesmaid's dresses and he was able to tell me right away what would look best. He also had books to go through so I was able to get ideas of his past work. Everything came out gorgeous, form the bouquets to the center pieces to the alter. As an added bonus I was able to add sparkly starfish into my flowers to go along with be beach theme of the wedding. If you are looking for someone with a natural talent, look no further than Peter!

Peter is gifted. Floral design is his PASSION! His vision is unique, intuitive, and breathtaking. We met to discuss my style, my gown and walk thru the venue (The Berkeley Hotel in Asbury). Peter took it from there.... I made clear my likes and dislikes and then my gut told me to let him run with it. he ran. TOUCHDOWN! My wedding last nite was sheer perfection! My bouquet is literally going viral on Facebook lol!! The banquet hall was ethereal; my guests (and I!) were blown away. Nobody does it better.

Peter was simply amazing from the very first day I met him. I told him what I envisioned and what I hoped for, and he made that dream become a reality. My flowers, center pieces, and every little detail was perfect all because of him. Peter James is extremely talented and knows exactly how to make a wedding day perfection. Peter is so fun to work with a little sass and a great vision! Peter got my vision and made it even better! I loved our flowers for the bouquets, the center pieces were just the right mix, and the lanterns were beautiful! He made the room so romantic. He is so fun to meet and work with!

Peter did a wonderful job providing beautiful flower arrangements for our wedding day. He helped narrow down my vision and brought ideas to the table that I had never though of. His creativity is what I was most impressed with. He created stunning centerpieces that incorporated Christmas lights, and ornaments. He created a beautiful arch for our ceremony that was dripping with orchids, he also created a bridal bouquet stuffed with beautiful white roses and all within our budget!! I would highly recommend Peter to anyone! He is a MUST!!!! Thank you Peter for creating such a beautiful day for Digger and I!!!!

The flowers turned out beautiful and Peter did a wonderful job creating our Chuppah. The Chuppah was so well built that it held up to a seagull who decided to join the ceremony by jumping onto the top of it.

Peter James is amazing! When I first met him I knew right away he knew his stuff and I could trust him. Not only was he extremely easy to work with, but he actually listened to my ideas. I knew everyone would be amazed with our flowers for the wedding as soon as I saw how he made simple baby breaths look elegant for our engagement party. By the day of our wedding, I was so pleased to see my gorgeous bouquet along with my flower girls, mother of the bride and MOH flowers. I'll never forget the feeling of walking into our church seeing vintage baskets hanging from the pews filled with Queen Anne's Lace. As soon as my husband and I entered our venue at Window's on the Water in Sea Bright, we were speechless. Peter James made our wedding on the beach elegant with a vintage touch. Between our beautiful centerpieces made from the tree bark and roses to the copper lanterns decorated in moss and votive candles we were absolutely blown away. Seeing our beautiful wedding cake topped with flowers truly was the icing on the cake :) We love you Peter James and we can't wait to use you again and again and again for future events. We can't thank you enough.

Peter has such an eye for making the most stunning bouquets. My flowers was unbelievable and everyone raved at how gorgeous they were. Our color was royal blue and my flowers were so eye catching. It made everything pop but was not over the top. He was also responsible for our chuppah. It was extremely elegant and classy. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

I hired Peter James as the result of a fantastic referral from my wedding venue and thought I was going to be very happy with his work. I have never been so wrong. The reviews online were terrific but then I realized it is not that difficult to hire someone to write excellent reviews for your company. I had two meetings with Peter in person and they were both quite different. Before he had my deposit he was wonderful all minus one thing, he did not show me exactly which flowers I was ordering for my wedding. He insisted they would be beautiful. Again, based on the great reviews he had I trusted him and did not worry. Immediately after I gave him my initial deposit, things changed. He was very unresponsive and not a pleasure to speak with. His professionalism was seriously poor. The worst part was the quality of the product that I received on my wedding day. Peter of all people should know the significance of flowers at a wedding so I am not sure how this happened. My bouquet and my maid of honor's were both gorgeous however; my bridesmaid bouquets and all of the other flowers at our wedding were absolutely despicable. The mother of the groom told me that hers were near dead by the time she received them. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were pitiful; they were small and in bad condition… there was almost not even a point in them carrying flowers at all. No bride should spend her wedding day feeling embarrassed because her bridesmaids had to hold flowers like that. Flowers are so important and I fully regret my decision to hire this company. The flowers themselves were not as described, in poor condition and Peter himself was not easy to work with. When he showed up at my house on the day of the wedding, he was disrespectful to me and walked right past my father who initially let him into our home that morning. I would not recommend this florist and I am sorry to say that. I do not feel good about looking back at my wedding and saying that I had a terrible florist.

everyone commented on my flowers. my bouquet was brilliant. peter james is a floral genius. he is amazing. even with the hurricane sandy, he was able to gather unique memorable flowers. i gave him my wedding ideas and he worked with my plans but he added his magical floral spices to the mix and the bouquet was stunning. my mother was so proud of her corsage. Peter was able to incorporate the tropical with fall/winter theme (my parents spend half the year in hawaii and the other half in nj and i wanted their flowers to demonstrate their unique geographics). the wedding party loved their flowers. we are so fortunate to find peter. he's super fun and super kind (and hysterically honest). he needs his own reality show. and finally, he's ridiculously affordable. i don't know how he makes a living. the flowers we bought from him would have been 3x the price in nyc. thank you peter! you're the best!

Peter was absolutely wonderful!! He is very friendly and accommodating. He has a great eye for picking the right color scheme for your flowers. The choice of colors Peter recommended to accentuate the malibu bridesmaids dresses, along with working around the flowers I wanted(roses) worked beautifully. Peter helped bring together (with his beautiful flowers) and made my vision of my beach wedding perfect.

I wish I could give 0 stars...We hired Peter James Floral Couture for our wedding planned on the day Hurricane Irene hit, August 27, 2011, and unfortunately, against our wishes, the wedding was cancelled on us due to the fact that there was a State of Emergency placed on NJ and the city of Asbury Park was being evacuated. We held an impromptu ceremony the night before, on August 26th, at our rehearsal dinner with just 4 hours notice and had to un-invite 200+ guests. My mother wanted to make sure I at least had a bouquet to walk down the aisle with and had to hunt him down. Although our wedding was just the next day, after multiple attempts of calling him it wasn't until she got a hold of the GM of the venue that Peter replied "I'll see what I can do, but I can't guarantee anything"; even though we had paid him in FULL with cash just 10 days prior. Mind you, he never provided us with an itemized receipt or contract for our agreement; partially our fault because we felt that we could trust him...HUGE mistake!! Fast forward a few months, I continuously called him and there was NO answer or return of my phone call I had still not received any notification of what we were supposed to do since he didn't provide the services we had paid him for. He finally called me back and told me "to seek legal advice" as he wasn't going to offer us a refund of our money. Unfortunately, we had to take him to small claims court because he wasn't cooperating with our lawyer and it was going back and forth for several months. In court he lied under oath about multiple things had occurred and truly disappointed us. It went on further than that, but I'm trying to be fair, and honestly, not sure you would believe me if I was to continue. Our experience was awful and we would NEVER recommend him to anyone getting married or for any other reason. When things in life don't turn out the way you plan, you want the vendors that you have selected to be there for you no matter what; and unfortunately to our dismay, Peter James Floral did not comply and made our bad situation even worse. My reason for writing this review is for no other reason than to protect other brides and people from having such a horrific experience as no one deserves to get treated so poorly. Brides beware!

Walking into meet florists can be a scary thing, especially when you do not know what your looking for. Peter is amazing. He cares about details, and I swear he knows exactly what you will like just by what your dress looks like. He was very personable and I instantly felt like I knew him forever. My flowers were nothing short of beautiful and he even decorated my arbor on the beach. Priced very reasonably. A perfect fit for all brides.

Peter is the type of person you can emmediately feel comfortable with. The minute he hugged me when he met me I knew he was the one I was contracting to be our florist. His work is top rate and delivers what he promises. I couldn't have been more satisfied. Highly recommended!!

All my worries were gone to moment I walked in the door. With simply guiding questions, he was able to create what I was looking for. Delivery perfect and timely.

If you want someone who really knows what they're doing then you need to choose Peter! He pays attention to every detail and will give you all you want and more in couture flowers! I had my bridal bouquet, 1 toss, 1 moh, 4 bridesmaids, 8 Boutonnieres, 4 corsages, pew arrangements, altar flowers, centerpieces, and a place card table arrangement. I loved every petal of my wedding and I refer him to everyone I know!

Peter James spends a lot of time getting to know his bride and groom and then translates that into something truly beautiful. The flowers at our wedding were tasteful, one of a kind and fit our personalities perfectly.
