Philadelphia String Quartet

PSQ was amazing to work with leading up to and on our wedding day. They asked for specific songs and genres and then filled in the blanks. We had the quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour, added a DJ + the quartet for the first hour of the reception (to cover the first dances and such) and then the DJ for the rest of the night. It was such a unique option for a wedding and turned out perfectly. Cannot recommend PSQ enough!!

I cannot even begin to express how incredible PSQ was for our wedding. Leading up to the event they were so helpful and guided us through the music process. We hired the string trio and DJ for our event. It was a dream come true... they went absolutely above and beyond to make our day so special. The music was just beyond amazing and made the vibe of our wedding so perfect. We felt that they really understood what we wanted, and delivered. I cannot recommend them enough.

If we have any recommendation for your wedding, BOOK PSQ! It’s unfair that google only has 5 stars, PSQ deserves way more than that. From the time we were just in our vendor searching phase, asking initial questions and gathering what we wanted, Philly string was so awesome from the beginning. They gave us recommendations, yet listened to our vision of what we wanted. We wanted fun, upbeat non conventional wedding music for our ceremony and cocktail hour and they MORE than delivered. We had a trio play for the ceremony and cocktail hour for our Philadelphia wedding. Our wedding party did their processional to Forever by Chris Brown, and I think it was one of my favorite parts of my whole wedding. It kicked off such an amazing party. They even delivered on our last minute request for the thong song for cocktail hour (lol), and our guests LOVED it. They had an awesome playlist, the artists themselves were so enthusiastic, engaging, and you can tell they truly love what they do. They were responsive and attentive throughout the whole process, and we really could not have imagined our wedding day without them. Philly string is first class at what they do, I promise you will NOT regret booking them. Thanks so much PSQ!

WOW. That is all I can say. I had always dreamed of a string quartet for my ceremony and they were out of this world. Their music is magic. I felt like I was floating down the aisle in a movie. They also learned any song we wanted and kicked ass at our cocktail hour! They even snuck in some them songs from shows we love and some Disney music. Their electric instruments were also so cool. It was amazing entertainment. There are no words when the music speaks for itself! Simply incredible, our guests are still complimenting our string quartet. PSQ was so easy to work with throughout the pandemic and all of the changes, played every song we had on our list, and made our special day spectacular. I can’t wait until I have the privilege of being in their audience again. Mugu is so easy to work with and Laura gets back to you right away, making everything seamless. So lucky to have had them be part of our day!

Philadelphia String Quartet was the perfect addition to our wedding celebration. They created a beautiful and fun environment for our ceremony and Mugu and the team had our guests up and dancing during cocktail hour! We booked PSQ for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour after listening to them at a different wedding and knowing immediately we needed them for ourselves as well! They were so professional and kind to work with, and the musicians are extremely talented. The Philadelphia String Quartet was incredible. They were quick to respond and always eager to help answer any questions. We had originally chose a cellist and harpist to perform, but then switched to a harpist and violinist and were very flexible and understanding. They have an incredible repertoire of songs they can perform and the process to book them is easy and headache free. They also have links of sample music to showcase their abilities which are endless! The day of it was incredible to have them perform, true artists! The ambiance and music they brought to the ceremony was honestly one of a kind and one of the best decisions for our wedding. Thank you for an incredible day and wish you all the best!

The staff at PSQ was simply the best. They were so responsive to any email. They learned 2 songs for our special day and played them brilliantly. The only other request we made of them was to play songs about love from any decade, and they delivered. We had guests dancing during cocktail hour they were so good! Mugu understood that, like all couples, we had a lot details to take care of with our wedding. He made our planning process super simple and ensured that our day would be beautiful! PSQ is the best wedding decision we made. They played our ceremony and cocktail hour at The Racquet club of Philadelphia. From day one the folks at PSQ were hands on - I was unprepared for my initial call with Mugu - I had no clue how in depth he would get on music selection so early on. He is truly passionate and knowledgeable and was a pleasure to work with. A month or so before the wedding we were having a really hard time selecting music ... so Mugu sat on the phone with me for 30 minutes discussing different options. I still wasn't sold - so we texted back and forth for days until the right ceremony music was decided upon. At cocktail hour Mugu and his partner played current popular music, including the Game of Thrones theme song. We have gotten endless compliments on our cocktail hour music and PSQ is to thank. If I have the opportunity to work with PSQ and Mugu again in the future I absolutely will - and would recommend their services to all.

Mugu and the PSQ trio we booked for our wedding ceremony 9/7 were fantastic. Our guests were so impressed with their talents. The Trio was punctual and hassle free. In preparation for the day Mugu and his team were easy to contact, professional, always responded right away, were extremely helpful, and very pleasant to work with. You can be as selective with the music as you want or you can let them make recommendations. They were a dream to work with and I highly recommend.

I reached out to PSQ in a panic when our ceremony musicians canceled 12 days before our wedding. Katie followed up with me immediately, and within 24 hours, they were booked. The communication was great, and the musicians were already familiar with the music we selected. The did an absolutely incredible job at the ceremony. Mugu and the other musicians seriously blew everyone away. They even coordinated with our rabbi before the ceremony and played backup to his prayers. I am so glad we ended up going with PSQ. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. They were worth every penny.

Philadelphia String Quartet was one of the first vendors that my new husband and I booked once we settled on a location and date for our wedding in Bucks County. We knew once we heard their music that it would be perfect for our special day. Everyone we dealt with at PSQ was so friendly, accommodating and a pleasure to work with from the start, and I have been meaning to write this review for weeks and wish I had done it sooner, as I highly encourage other brides and grooms to chose them as well. We knew that the music would have special meaning for us at our wedding, especially during the ceremony, and PSQ brought tears to our eyes as I walked down the aisle and just the perfect mix of emotion and elegance that we had hoped for. Their song list was extensive and they are willing to play just about anything you request. We hired them for our ceremony and also the outdoor cocktail hour, and my only regrets are that I didn't have them play longer and that I didn't get enough opportunity to just sit and listen as the bride. They are truly amazing and will make your wedding day that much more special. My husband and I plan to hire them again in the future for a future celebration. We were so very lucky to work with so many talented vendors for our wedding, and PSQ were one of the very best - don't hesitate to hire them !!!

They were perfect! In the time of your hectic wedding preparation, Mugu works with you closely and attentively to make sure all the details are covered. He answers all your questions and addresses your concerns as soon as he can to put your mind at ease. We had a long list of songs for our ceremony and reception. He planned it carefully so the recessionals music perfectly matched the party entrance. We also loved how the PSQ was able to arrange the score to "Still falling for you by Ellie Goulding" for our first dance. They came in on the chorus of the song to give more climax to already a beautiful song. The accolades and wonderful reviews for this group of professionals are to be trusted! Philly String Quartet was absolute perfection! They were worth every penny and brought an amazing element to our wedding that guests are still raving about. Working with Mugu was very easy and he transformed our vision to reality seamlessly. PSQ was amazing to work with from the moment I booked them to when they finished their last song. They were able to provide exactly what my husband and I were looking for. We wanted our wedding to be the standard wedding...but with some flare. We had them play their acoustic instruments for our ceremony for that "serious" aspect of the day, but we selected songs that were more pop and it was absolutely perfect. Magu and I were even able to sync when he would switch the quartet to a more upbeat version of "Marry You" as I walked down the aisle. PSQ also played for our cocktail hour with their electric instruments and were absolutely fantastic. They played the perfect selection of songs and at the right volume. They weren't overbearing where they stole the show, but they weren't so quiet that you didn't know that they were there - it was balanced in every way. They are all musicians who absolutely love what they do and it shows in any of their performances. The only downside that I have is I don't have another event where I would need them to play!

The Cure never sounded so classy! We requested to walk down the aisle to "Only You" by Yaz & they specially arranged the music for us since it wasn't in their repetoire. we worked with Monique & she was a charm to work with & even more beautiful in person!! i can't say enough great things about the quartet. they will always be a great memory from the best day of my life. thanks monique & crew!!

The PSQ was one element of the wedding I was most looking forward to and they absolutely delivered - and more! They never missed a beat and things were seamless when the wedding started a little late due the parent limo going to the wrong church! The music was beautiful and one of the most complimented aspects of the wedding by guests! I was over the moon to have them play at my wedding - what a unique group and their range is excellent. We incorporated modern and traditional music and it flowed beautifully and made things really fun. Their rendition of Vida la Vida by Coldplay as our exit song is something I'll never forget. It was so cheery and upbeat and I think it really surprised guests to have such a well versed group playing at a wedding. I cannot recommend the PSQ enough. They were an absolute highlight of the ceremony and overall wedding. I wish I could have been a guest and listened to them play the whole time. Do yourself a favor and hire them - you will not regret it!

Philadelphia String Quartet played at our wedding on September 25, 2015. They were absolutely amazing. Our guests are still raving about their array of music that they played. Words such as 'breathtaking, romantic, classic, memorable and special" were all the buzz at our wedding to describe PSQ. It was an absolute pleasure from the very start to have worked with Laci and Mugu. They created a playlist that told a story of our love together. It was personalized just for us. The sounds of the Philadelphia Quartet made everyone in church relax and smile. Adding the Philadelphia String Quartet to our wedding ceremony was one of the best last-minute decisions we could have made for our wedding! The fact they were playing the ceremony was actually a surprise to all of our guests and most of our wedding party as well! We came up with a playlist for them for the entire ceremony, from the guests being seated to the processional, to the recessional -- all the songs we chose were more modern songs which PSQ does such a great job translating into strings. This is the one thing that makes me regret not having a videographer!! I would have loved seeing them play as guests arrived, and seeing the processional with the strings playing. While I was waiting to walk in with my dad, I could hear them playing each different song for my mom and then my bridal party, and finally, the song they began to play for me and my dad to walk in ("a thousand years") and it all sounded beautiful! I was tearing up before I took my first step down the aisle! Our contact, Miha, had a Skype session with us prior to the wedding to hash out the details of all the songs that would be played, the number in the bridal party, etc. and they executed everything perfectly! Would hire them again for sure! Guests loved the surprise -- including my mom! :) Not the cheapest for one hour of playing ($300/player, per hour) but they were worth every penny!

I found the Philadelphia String Quartet after seeing “the Van” with Its logo painted brightly and classically all over it. I looked up their website, listened to a sample of their music and was hooked..I immediately called, Mugu answered, I told him this crazy story about My Surprise Dream Wedding I was thinking of having. He actually took notes and had Mary – Manager/Event Specialist call me back. I had absolutely no idea how to pull this Wedding Dream Surprise off, especially with less than 2 months’ notice. Mary became my Event coordinator/Wedding Planner/Cake Brooch finder, etc, etc , My Rock!! You name it, Mary has a creative idea for it. She actually listens to you. She hears your wants and needs and the best thing about Mary is the fact that she gives Wonderful Feedback! She truly cares about each and every single event as if it were her own. I had no idea what type of music to have them play for my ceremony, with Me being Italian and my husband Jewish. I gave them creative freedom over the music choices. They had me walk out to them playing Andrea Bocelli..A Moment I will never forget..This is not just a business for Mary, Mugu and the string quartet musicians, this is a way of life. You feel it when they look at you with happy tears in their eyes when you walk down the aisle or in my case outside on the deck of my home on a Freezing cold December morning. The String quartet will Never cause you any anxiety, they are flexible, professional and reliable.. I hired them to play outside in my back yard for my private wedding ceremony and then play later that same evening at My Surprise Christmas party/Wedding. I need a new word for accommodating when speaking about PSQ..They are truly a fantastic company to work with…Can you say, “STRESS FREE”!! I gave their Christmas CD out as a Wedding Favor to all of my guests so they can enjoy them at home. You see, once you hear them, you can’t get enough of them.. PSQ will be the best money spent, I suggest you make them a top priority..You won’t be sorry.

I love instrumental music and wanted a violinist at my wedding. I hired a violinist for the wedding and then the violinist went to the reception along with another person who played the cello. I will say I could not have had a beautiful wedding without this company. The musicians were so personable , friendly, and the list goes on. At the reception, everyone could not stop tapping their feet while the Violinist played moves like jagger on the electric violin. I could have listened to him all day long. If music is extremely important to you , I would not recommend anyone else! They are worth every penny!!

Although I didn't get to enjoy them like my guests, everyone said they were amazing and set the tone for the wedding. We had an outdoor reception so it was important for everyone to be happy!

They play such a wonderful selection and variety of music. Our guests absolutely loved them and what they played. They were so helpful and accommodating and stayed to play after the ceremony during our cocktail hour outside as the lack of power, due to mother natures fury, didn't allow for the dj to do. I could listen to them play all day long!

We were so happy with PSQ for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music. They were professional and responsive to work with, and were also extremely flexible. The ceremony music was absolutely beautiful, and I can still remember how it felt when I heard "Bittersweet Symphony" playing for our processional. They went the extra mile by practicing extra with our guitarist friend to create the most beautiful arrrangement of Train's "Marry Me" while I walked down the aisle. My husband had one request for our wedding - he wanted a string quartet for our cocktail hour. I did some research and found about 3 different string quartets. We listened to the music samples from all of them and we were both so incredibly moved by the Philadelphia String Quartet that we decided right away to book them. We even decided to have them do our ceremony music as well as the cocktail hour. They were amazing and our guest are still raving about the beautiful music at our wedding. We didn't know much about what to choose for the ceremony but they had sample programs ready to go that were incredibly helpful. They also did a great job of reading the crowd at the cocktail hour and everyone really enjoyed the selections. All in all they were a great vendor and I highly recommend them. We are already trying to think of another event we can use them for.

I was so excited to find Philadelphia String Quartet. Just a quick conversation with Mugu made it evident how skilled and experienced of musicians the group is. I come from a family of musicians and it was important to me (and my guests) to have a group that could hold their own. This group has great chops and they have a huge selection of music, both classical and pop. I really wanted to walk down the aisle to the theme from "Love Actually" and Mugu made that happen by arranging (almost overnight) a shorter version that could be played. Nothing could have prepared me more to enter the church when I heard this playing. The Philadelphia String Quartet was so talented, easy-going, and self-organizing. The quartet needed no managing, they took complete initiative the day of the wedding. I would definitely recommend this group and if I ever need a quartet for any event in the future I will be hiring them again! Thank you Philadelphia String Quartet!

We hired PSQ to play at our wedding on May 7th and my mom thought it would be nice for them to preform during my bridal shower. It was the first time I had heard them aside from their online clips and I was amazed at how great they were in person!!!!! They are so good and very professional!! They picked up right away on what the crowd wanted to hear (much younger group of girls) all of my friends loved them too! I requested a special song for my ceremony that they weren't familiar with and they are learning for our day. I cant say enough great things about them :-)
