when we saw their sample work online and I am very happy that we found Phillip after looking through wedding websites and his pictures. That was the best decision we made. Philip was very professional and have such a unique style. He went above and beyond for his client. All his pictures turned out very stunning and he captured the moment when you least expect. I was a bit skeptical to take a chance with Philip since he wasn't on the top three people referred to us but I am very happy that I took that chance. I feel very lucky that we were able to have him for our big day and have these wonderful pictures to look at years after. Every single pictures are beautiful and I don't have anything bad to say about his service. I would highly recommend him to all my family and friends.

s well as a candid look at the day itself. I have to say that the photographs turned out even more stunning than I could have imagined. I absolutely loved his use of geometry, black and white, framing, and most importantly - capturing my friends and family in their natural loveliness. This was one of the more expensive choices I made during the planning process, but I believe it was absolutely worth EVERY penny. Not to mention, Philip was a great person to have nearby. He blended seamlessly with my friends and family, was quirky, funny and a pleasure to be around. As I look through our albums I forget it was my wedding and unconsiously begin to feel like I am looking at movie stills or a Time magazine spread. It's not wedding pictures, it's art. And if that wasn't enough he uses his street photography skills to take pictures of the surrounding areas. He took some amazing pictures of downtown Houston that we will frame and put around the house as (once again), art. I do not know what your wedding budget is, but find a way to make Phillip a part of your wedding; his photography is priceless. The wedding goes by so fast... I don't remember off the top of my head what the flowers looked like, how the tables were decorated, or how good the food was, but I will look at Phillip's pictures and be reminded of that special day for the rest of my life.

We purchased a middle range package and then bought so many photos, I would maybe suggest buying a smaller package and then purchasing more photos to be more cost effective. Overall, we loved working with Philip and were very satisfied! We love re-living the night through all the photos.

My husband and I live in Houston and he is super knowledgeable about venues all around Texas. de down from a tree. Between my leg muscles giving out and my fiancé cracking up (gently, so as not to fall off the tree himself), it was no small feat. But Philip got the shot in the end, reflecting our personalities the way no other shot could. At our wedding, he managed to be everywhere without us noticing him. With an eye for everything from the critical moments to the smallest detail, he’s also light on his feet and quick to react. He captured so many of our fleeting expressions and tiny gestures. Being able to relive our wedding through Philip’s lens was such a gift to us—seeing my friends leaning forward in their chairs during our vows, my parents beaming with my tiny niece in between them, my husband calming me with a kiss before going out to our ceremony, the way I unconsciously hook my fingers around his first two fingers, my 91-year-old grandma and I laughing and crying together (as we do), and the bond between my husband and his best friend for two decades. Thank goodness we did choose Philip, though, because without his gorgeous photos, our memories would be so much more difficult to capture and revisit as frequently as we do. , and we ended up with a shortlist of three. Because we live in Boston and our wedding was in Houston, we interviewed them through Skype. It became obvious that Philip was the right guy for us. After a very friendly chat we could tell he already knew the atmosphere we were trying to set up. The day of the wedding he and his associate arrived on time and they covered the event from the preparations to the final sparklers (about 11 hours total). During the day Philip was very unimposing, and most of the time we completely forgot that he was even there. We received the photographs about 8 weeks after our wedding, and they are truly sublime. The portraits and family pictures are crystal clear, perfectly executed and stately, just like we requested. In the other photographs, Philip seems to be always in the right place, at the right moment, capturing the essence of movement, smiles and expressions. Dealing with Philip was very smooth, all the paperworks were done via the internet. He doesn't boss everyone around, and he is happy to accommodate and do any posed shots you request if you let him know ahead of time. Philip is not the cheapest photographer around, but every penny is worth it.

r us. Philip met with us a couple of times before the big day to get to know us and let us get to know him, which helped put me at ease. He was totally on board with our off the wall wedding. He was the only photographer that I found that truly did "all day" photography. All the others seemed like great deals til you read the fine print and realized you only had them for 6 or 8 hours, which means you either had no pics from get ready or none from the end of the reception. Philip was with me from 10am-11pm, from the terrible make up artist, to fixing my own make up, to putting on the dress, to the ceremony, the amazing reception, to our send off. He and his assistant didn't miss a moment! And have you seen his blog???? This man creates art!

nd accommodating. He accepted my husband's and my requests without protest when I think other photographers would have refused. I think the rates are a little bit higher compared with some other photographers, but, as with everything else, you get what you pay for. My family and I agreed that hiring Philip was worth every penny. I have already personally recommended him to other brides.

or us. He was an absolute doll a blast to work with, he is so funny he kept everyone laughing when we were taking group shots so no one got bored or distracted. But when we were getting ready he wasn't in the way, he was very considerate and obviously experienced with brides. I was so incredibly pleased when we got our pictures back they were so beautiful I couldn't be happier. My whole experience with Phillip was amazing, I can't think of one negative thing to say about him. I'm so happy we chose him.  ENGAGEMENT SESSION: Philip Thomas is based out of San Antonio, but came out to Houston to photograph our engagement session. He made us feel totally at ease and gave us really helpful tips on posing and looking natural and telling us where to go and what to do - something we really needed given that my now husband and I were a little nervous about our first photoshoot - but with Philip, we actually had a whole lot of fun. We shot at several different locations and the pictures came out amazing!

 WEDDING: After the engagement session, I knew we were in good hands for the wedding. From the getting-ready shots, to the ceremony and reception, Philip captured everything from small details to the wonderful range of emotions. For the most part, Philip and his assistant were really discreet and we barely noticed them, but Philip was also wonderful at taking control of the situation and making things more lively where needed, such as turning formal family portraits into pictures of people laughing and hugging and having a super fun time. We are so excited to see the final album, and would recommend Philip Thomas Photography any day!

It was a fairly dark day outside on our wedding day and our reception venue was very dim, and yet Philip found the most unique ad beautiful ways of illuminating things in his photos - all without using flash! Overall, our experience with Philip has been phenomenal and I wholeheartedly recommend him! We are so thankful that he played a part in our wedding.

Two days before the wedding, Philip shot our engagement session at the Sunken Garden in a totally relaxed way. He even managed to bring last minute prints to the wedding so we could display them. His performance on the day of the wedding is also noteworthy as evidenced by the number of friends, family, and hotel staff that commented, "Your photographer is awesome." There are even Facebook pictures of the length Philip went to get a shot. The Monday after the wedding, Philip had posted stunning pictures to his blog, which was quickly circulated. The more I look at the pictures the more I see the true artistry behind them and realize that each shot from the flower girl admiring herself in the mirror to the groom dancing with his niece is a story unto itself. Even hard-to-impress friends and family were gushing. Last, we really appreciated being able to make payments during the months leading up to the event over an easy online service. I can’t say how much this eased wedding planning from afar. I wish all the wedding vendors had this available!
