We got married on 8.1.26 at Upper Shirley Vineyards.
Rhea and the team at Photosynthesis Floral Design made our wedding absolute magic! From our very first vision chat, Rhea unders...
tood exactly what we wanted and brought it to life way beyond our expectations. My bouquet was a total dream, and the greenery throughout the ballroom and on the tables was perfection down to the last detail. The chuppah and ground petals were so breathtaking that our guests are still reaching out to rave about how gorgeous everything looked. It is truly special to have photos of guests and family under the Chuppah after the ceremony. Throughout the whole process, Rhea was incredibly patient with any questions and changes, bringing unmatched creativity, design, care, and talent to every single piece. Her flowers are fresh, vibrant and carefully sourced. If you are looking for a florist who will exceed every expectation, you need Rhea and the team at Photosynthesis Floral Design
We were so happy to have worked with Photosynthesis and Rhea for our September wedding. First of all, Rhea was so easy to work with - she has a very calming, warm demeanor, and was...
extremely communicative. We started with a one-on-one meeting and discussion so she could determine our needs and vision, then she sent a mockup/mood board of what would be in season and work in the space. The florals and greenery were a key part of the vision for our venue (the Branch Museum of Architecture and Design), and Rhea did absolutely stunning work. We were already in love with our venue, but the addition of all the gorgeous seasonal blooms and lush greenery just put it over the top for us. Of course, she also made the personal arrangements - boutonnieres, corsages, bouquets, and wreath for our dog. They all came out so lovely - I absolutely loved my bouquet - it was exactly what I had envision and described to her. Rhea was also kind enough to allow us to come by her studio after the wedding to pick up our leftover flowers - being able to enjoy them at home (and press some for keepsakes) was so special.
It is also very important to note that we originally had our wedding scheduled for April 2020, but had to reschedule due to COVID. Rhea was so understanding and flexible with rescheduling - she helped make a nightmare scenario much easier on us, and we are so grateful that we had such an awesome group of vendors!
Rhea and Photosynthesis are amazing. Our wedding was over a year ago and I constantly go back and look at how incredible the florals were. Not only is Rhea is extremely talented bu...
t she is so sweet and really knows how to make your vision come to life. I wanted a very dark and moody aesthetic and she completely exceeded my expectations. I also asked for my grandmothers broach to be included in my bouquet and got a little emotional about it and she was so sweet. I could not imagine having a different florist, it’s so much more than flowers and Photosynthesis really understands that.
I am still blown away by the incredible floral design Rhea did for our wedding! Our church venue was not the most visually appealing to start with, but Rhea and her team completely...
transformed it with some of the most beautiful flowers I have ever seen. When we first met with Rhea, I didn't have much of a vision for my wedding flowers beyond the color palette. After seeing photos of her previous work, I knew I completely trusted her to do her thing and create floral arrangements we would love. The photos speak for themselves — the flowers were truly a work of art and we are still getting compliments on them! We can't thank Rhea and Photosynthesis enough for making our day so beautiful.
From the first meeting I knew Rhea at Photosynthesis would be the best florist for my wedding! She seemed to really get what I was going for, and when we officially booked Photosyn...
thesis, we got a sweet little gift in the mail! Such a nice touch! The flowers at my wedding gorgeous and everything I could have imagined. Thank you so much to Photosynthesis for doing such an amazing job!
Rhea is an artist hands down, and I am so glad I was referred to her by another florist who was booked up for my wedding date. For the florals, I really had to trust the florist si...
nce it was not feasible to see any mock-ups of the florals months before the wedding (dahlias are just not in season in the summer). But throughout the process where I showed her my photo inspirations and gave her my opinion on changes, Rhea was both professional and responsive, and also reassuring as I started to fret months before the wedding. When I saw the flowers for the first time on my wedding day, it looked even better than I imagined. Thanks Rhea so much for bringing my ideas to fruition! It was more than perfect!
Rhea at Photosynthesis was AMAZING. She met with my daughter and son-in-law before the wedding and my daughter showed her pictures of what she wanted. Rhea delivered the most bea...
utiful flowers and arrangements I have ever seen. She absolutely got my daughter's style. And Rhea was very willing to work within our budget and give alternatives that were cheaper. The two women who actually came to set up the flowers for the wedding did an outstanding job.
What do you do when you have a bride who can mention several things she doesn't like, but has a hard time communicating exactly what she does want? Well, if you're Rhea and her te...
am, you take a mutually agreed upon color palette and you create MAGIC. Our arrangements begged to be touched- the textures & surprises were phenomenal. And as a June bride I asked for, and received & then some, one whopper of a bouquet of peonies. I appreciate Rhea's patience, vision and efficiency given we ended up having to go with our rain plan & venue, and as a result we were were married an hour earlier than originally planned. We've since worked with Rhea on a centerpiece for a family birthday, and will reach out for any events in Richmond in the future. xo
My husband and I both love flowers and this was one of the most important and exciting aspects of the wedding for us. After our initial meeting with Rhea we were so relieved. We kn...
ew that she would do a great job! She listened to our vision and expanded on it to make it even better! We loved our flowers so so much!
My fiance and I had such a pleasant experience working with Rhea and team. We were both a bit apprehensive going into our first meeting not having any knowledge of flower/plant typ...
es, floral arrangement options, etc. Rhea made it easy to express what we wanted by walking us through looks from previous weddings and events. Rhea was very helpful in working with our budget and presented us with two proposal options, depending on our guest count and resulting dinner table arrangements. One look I had my heart set on since selecting our venue was one long lush garland down the center of the dinner table. I was absolutely thrilled when we all sat down for dinner and the table looked exactly how I had envisioned. Our experience with Photosynthesis was amazing from start to finish-I highly recommend!
Rhea was fantastic. Our wedding planner referred us to Rhea and she did not disappoint! We were planning our wedding in Virginia as well as a wedding in India -- while residing in ...
Indiana -- so we were never able to meet Rhea in person. She was quick to respond to emails and our floral arrangements were beautiful. Rhea was able to take our floral vision that we created and shared via Pinterest and made it happen. Thanks Rhea!
Rhea was hands down the sweetest and most professional vendor that I worked with throughout my wedding planning. When I met with her, I had no idea what I wanted to do for flowers ...
or centerpieces, but she guided me through the whole process showing me photos, asking specifics regarding what I like, etc. and then made recommendations. After that, I had several email communications with her (I'm a needy bride and had lots of questions), and if she didn't respond immediately, which she usually did, she would respond to tell me when she would respond. Given all the stresses and unknowns in wedding planning this small, professional gesture was one of the best things she could have done.
I also opted to have a "mockup" done of my wedding centerpieces. The day I went to view the mockups they exceeded my expectations and were so beautiful, I cried. I didn't even cry when I found my wedding dress, so take that as you will.
I absolutely adored Rhea and would recommend anyone in the Richmond area to reach out to her.
Rhea was so personal, professional, and she made the most unique arrangements ever. I'm more of an offbeat bride, so how she created the bouquets and centerpieces was right up my a...
