TL;DR - The Phunky Monkeys are one of the most extraordinary groups of musicians I have ever seen play. Every single person said they were the best band they had ever seen at a wedding, and I don’t know how a better band could possibly exist. I recommend them with my entire being, and if you make a single decision for your wedding/event, make that decision hiring the Phunky Monkeys, and everything else will fall into place. — It’s been 3 weeks since the Phunky Monkeys played our wedding and blew the doors off the place, and people are still texting me on a near daily basis about how incredible they are. I personally still can’t find the words to express how phenomenal they were from the first note they played to the last. I am in awe of every single one of these musicians and can't fathom how they are all in the same group. My favorite weddings are the ones where I never left the dance floor. They are the ones where I leave on a high that could only be delivered by a great band - a euphoria that cannot be manufactured but must happen organically. We made it our mission to give people that experience, so we would do anything we could to get the best possible band for our wedding, and we found that in the Phunky Monkeys. For two months, my non working hours were spent watching everything I could find on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, wedding websites, and band websites. I read every single review of every band that I could. I created a detailed spreadsheet ranking every signal that I could find, and I kept coming back to the Phunky Monkeys. It turns out that, while this work made me more confident in my choice, it probably wasn't necessary, as every time I asked a vendor who their favorite band was, they told us the Phunky Monkeys. I probably should have just taken them at their word. When I say that they blew my expectations out of the water, I am embarrassed as to how much I am understating just how much they overdelivered even my wildest dreams. For their first three songs, they played You Can Call Me Al, where they had a conga line going through our entire venue on the first song (how?!?!?!?), Shout, and Proud Mary, and I started to get worried. How were we supposed to keep that energy up for the rest of the night? Somehow, though, the rest of the night got better and better as they tore through song after song that kept the dance floor completely packed. I don't think people really ate at our wedding, and I'm not even sure how much people drank. We had 210 people, and not a single one of them wanted to step off dance floor. I have truly never seen anything like it, and guest after guest has approached us to tell us that our wedding was one of the best nights of their lives, and that was because of Mike Taylor and this group. I truly think our wedding could have been a picnic with solo cups, and, if we had them playing, people would still say our wedding was one of their favorite of all time. I'm not being hyperbolic - I want everyone to know how incredible they are because they created the best memory I'll ever have by being so tuned into what we wanted and bringing the energy and musicianship to make it happen. We were so lucky to have them, and I promise with all of my heart that if you hire them, you will be so happy that you did. To the Phunky Monkeys, we love you and can't wait to get back down to New Orleans and see you play. You are truly the best band I could ever imagine, and the world is more magical with you in it.

We celebrated our son’s wedding last Friday night and had the Phunkey Monkeys for the reception. One word, FANTASTIC!!! Played for 3hours and kept the dance floor full. Great musicians, singers and entertainers. We all look forward to seeing them again…soon!

When you read the reviews, everyone says that the Phunky Monkeys are the BEST wedding band ever, but it still doesn't do them justice. They provided the music for the ceremony, second line and reception. These are musicians--horns, saxophones, and even a TUBA! The singers are fantastic--from sounding exactly like Louis Armstrong to belting out Beyonce and Whitney! You could almost believe that Sam Cooke, Jon Batiste and Bruno Mars were on stage. Their energy was contagious. Yes, they are that good! Even the sound and the acoustics were perfect. People still cannot stop talking about this band 2 weeks later. No one wanted to leave the dance floor. My daughter's wedding was at Brennan's and the food was exceptional. However, we could have served Lucky Dogs, and it would not have mattered because the band was so great, so New Orleans! Hire them.

They are the BEST! My wedding was on 3/25/23 and my guests are STILL talking about how incredible the band was! Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night and it was so much fun! I can’t recommend them enough! Absolute highlight of our wedding.

WOW!!!!! My son got married Saturday night April 15th. And words cannot express how awesome this band is. Probably the best band I have ever had the pleasure listening to. More stars are needed for a higher rating. The Phunky Monkeys will make your wedding the talk of the town! Have you ever been to a wedding where almost 100% of the guests are on the dance floor? This band is amazingly talented. They don’t just play great music. They perform. They interact with the guests, sometimes even joining in on the dance floor! The talent on one stage is unbelievable. I should have had a clue that a proposal was coming when my daughter told me “mom, when I get married I want the Phunky Monkeys for the band”. If you want your guests to have the most fun time at your wedding, book this band! Everyone will thank you.

I wish I could give the Phunky Monkeys 10 stars! I cannot even begin to thank you for leading the way into the most perfect reception EVER! The Phunky Monkeys are truly the BEST!!! Hands down!!! The music, the visuals, the horns, the confetti machine…!!! I could go on and on!!!!!! So many people remarked that y’all are the BEST band they’ve ever heard at a wedding reception. The Phunky Monkeys aren’t one of your “common” cover bands. They make each song sensational and WITHOUT any sour notes. The talent on that stage is astounding! Michael and the members of the Phunky Monkey band are exceptionally talented!!! Every song and I mean every song sounded just like the original version. All my guest were impressed and never left the dance floor. They really know how to throw on a show and entertain. My wedding reception would not of been the same without them from the second line from the church, our first dance by Louis Armstrong, and almost breaking the floor from jumping to let me clear my throat! From the incredibly personal processional from Reggie on the saxophone, to the first dances, to the "special surprise" that our guests were the first to hear the band play (I Want Candy - in honor of my maiden name), I was completely blown away at how professional yet INSANELY FUN this band is. They rocked with us, yall. They gave the microphone away so my uncles could sing their favorites. They glittered their faces, they wore the kitty ears. I mean THEY DID THE DAMN THING. THANK YALL from the bottom of my overflowing heart! I know for a fact that everyone is going to remember our wedding for years to come due to The Phunky Monkey’s performance♥️

Thanks to Mike and all of the Phunky Monkeys Band for putting on a heck of a New Year’s Eve performance at my daughter’s five and a half hour wedding reception. All twelve of their musicians/singers are incredibly talented and play different instruments beautifully or sing various genre... plus, they throw in choreographed moves from all three of the girls... and you get total professionalism! Over and over, our guest are heard saying compliments about the band on the videos. They were a total crowd pleaser and loved including the bridal party on stage with them for several favorite songs making my daughter’s wedding really fun and personal for their friends. Besides being extremely easy to work with all year, Mike saved the show for me when our fireworks guy bailed on me for a bigger gig only two weeks beforehand, and Mike quickly ordered indoor fireworks for the stage to pull off a fabulous New Years Eve show which had been planned for months. Everyone who attended the wedding has raved to me about this band, so I would be remiss to not give them credit for keeping a packed dance floor inside AND out on the patio for over five hours. They aren’t cheap, but worth every penny!! Thanks, Phunky Monkeys. You are the Best Band in town.🥂

Just attended a wedding this band played for and it was INCREDIBLE. Literally 10/10 in songs played, energy and interactions with the guests. Favorite wedding band I have seen!

HELLO PARTY PEOPLE! Damn this band is legendary. Our friends and family cannot stop RAVING about this band. They said, "it wasn't a band, it was a concert." And that's EXACTLY what we wanted. Michael, the band leader was amazing to work with through the whole process. The band is extremely talented and everyone is a heavy hitter. Bringing both vocals and instrumental prowess to the table. They are high energy. They feed off of the crowds energy. And they even helped create so many of the most iconic moments for us. 1) Pyrotechnics - check 2) Giving me (the bride) a chance for an impromptu onstage dance performance - check 3) Keeping us raging during our balloon drop - check! I mean you cannot go wrong with the Phunky Monkeys. They are out of this world good! You will have folks singing your praises if you pick this band for your event. 11 band members + 3 tech = DOING THE MOST!!!! Book them stat!

This band is absolutely AMAZING!!! They made my daughter’s wedding spectacular!!! They really kept the dance floor packed all night!!! They also played for the wedding!!! Best band ever!!!

The Phunky Monkeys were the hit of our wedding!! A live band was one of the things we wanted most for our wedding (especially being in New Orleans!) and the Phunky Monkey's were better than we could have imagined. I cannot explain how many compliments we got from guests who absolutely loved them. We requested mostly modern, pop music and they did an incredible job of keeping the dance floor full all night! All generations enjoyed the music and they had clearly thought through the song list in a very smart way. The performers were high energy all night and looked like they were having as much fun as us. I also can't forget to mention the level of TALENT within this group - the singers and musicians were so good there were moments where people were in total awe. We also booked 3 instruments for the ceremony and a small group for the cocktail hour which were also incredible. Having live music all night definitely made our wedding feel very special. Our wedding was at Il Mercato and we did not book a stage which I think was the right call. The band was able to engage with the guests and come on the dance floor which was super fun! You will not regret having the Phunky Monkeys play your wedding!

I can't say enough good things about this band! They played at our wedding the weekend of Halloween, and they made it so much fun. Their costumes were incredible, and their vocals and stage presence were the best. I had so many people tell me after the wedding that they were the best band they had ever seen at a wedding. Michael was wonderful to work with - professional, kind, fun, and prompt - and I can't thank he and his team enough for making our special night so memorable.

These guys are the TRUTH! They were by far the best wedding band I have ever heard and our guests could not stop talking about them. Every song they played was true to the original and they can do it ALL. They even learned all of our first dance songs! We did not stop dancing for the entire party. Their brass band (The Brass Monkeys) also played our second line. Worth every penny, I would hire them again in a heartbeat.

Literally hands down the best wedding band in New Orleans. Our wedding would absolutely not have been the same without them!! Not only are they easy to work with, but they are the most fun and interactive band you'll work with at a wedding. They are able to play any and every song you could think to request along with their own twist. I couldn't have imagined asking anyone else to play at our wedding. If you are looking for the MOST AMAZING BAND, look no further!! When planning my wedding the most important thing to me was that everyone had FUN! I asked around to find out who "the best" band in Louisiana was & time after time, no matter who I asked, the response was "THE PHUNKY MONKEYS" & I was sold! The booking process was so easy, Michael was always so quick to respond to me & answered my many many questions. Once we solidified the booking I was SO excited!! When Michael sent me their song list to narrow down I was even more excited! The song list is insane, I do not think there is a song they don't know! Fast forward to the reception & I was BLOWN AWAY. I saw first hand what the hype was all about and they came to PLAY! Guests were commenting on how amazing the band was before the party even picked up (which didn't take long!). The Phunky Monkeys had guests consistently on the dance floor all night long, my groom & I never even left the dance floor! It was evident to everyone that each & every band member LOVES what they do, they were just as happy to be there as we were to have them there & it showed! They set the vibe for the night & everyone had an amazing time! For a perfect ending to an amazing night, everything was wrapped up with a New Orleans style 2nd line, complete with brass instruments! The "Phunky Monkeys" transformed into the "Brass Monkeys" & led a 2nd line around the reception venue, every guest was in tow having the time of their lives! They then led our walkout & the party didn't stop until the last possible second. My husband & I already wanting to plan an anniversary party just so we can hire the Phunky Monkeys again! I highly recommend the Phunky Monkeys for any event!! They made our wedding so fun & special!

If you’re looking for a live band for your wedding, look no further. We cannot say enough good things about The Phunky Monkeys. They are such a talented group and we received countless compliments from our guests about them. They coordinated their outfits with our wedding colors. They had such a diverse range of musicians and played every genre of music to perfection. There was not one person in their seat—EVERYONE was on the dance floor. They also interacted with the crowd during their performance. We also hired the Brass Monkeys for our second line parade which made planning super easy. They played for a very long time for the second line. They have high energy and again, are very talented group of musicians. You cannot go wrong with The Phunkey Monkeys.

The Phunky Monkeys is where it's at!!!! They played for my daughter's wedding and were phenomenal!. Everyone was pleased and said where they go they will follow. We didn't want the night to end. The phunky monkeys have a broad range of genres that appealed to everyone at my wedding. Everyone commented on how wonderful the band was. They were very accommodating with song preferences as well!

But thanks to the Phunky Monkeys, it should also be one of the easiest decisions you make. Book this band ASAP and don't look back. They were, quite simply, the best wedding band we have ever heard. We had the pleasure of having the Phunky Monkeys play at my daughter's wedding last weekend (DiCarlo/Crouch Wedding) in New Orleans. From the beginning of our correspondence (nine months prior), until the day of the event and after, the Phunky Monkeys were exceptionally professional. Their song list was extensive and covered decades and various genres, they were willing to learn and perform the song selected by the bride & groom for their first dance, and the guests LOVED their energy and interactive performance. Michael was extremely easy to work with and was always responsive and detail oriented. Their entire performance was lively, personal, and engaging. The Phunky Monkeys were AMAZING!!!

Absolutely mind-blowing! I did a destination wedding in New Orleans and have been obsessed with this band ever since seeing one of their videos, but nothing prepares you for how incredible this band is at a wedding. Our coordinator and vendor said they’ve never seen so many people on the dance floor the entire night, we couldn’t stop dancing! I continue to get SO many compliments from our guests on the band and for me and my partner, it made our wedding day. They played all of our favorite songs and one of their singers even KIlLLED “I will alway love you.” Second line was also incredible and led to so many amazing photos. AMAZING, UNBELIEVABLE, FIRST CLASS!! This band kept every one of our guests from 8 to 80 happy. Their enthusiasm and pure talent kept the dance floor rocking all night! WORTH EVERY PENNY! The Phunky Monkeys are professional, talented beyond belief, entertaining, kind, fun, engaging, and non-stop! As a couple we decided that booking the best wedding band we could find was a priority. The band really can MAKE the party. And, PM did just that. Our guests didn't even want to take a break for the bathroom for fear of missing the next song! They even learned 2 or 3 songs for our first dance and dances with our parents. Every guest we have talked to since the reception has commented on the band being the BEST band they've experienced at a wedding (some even said the best band they've experienced live- period!). Many of our guests were from out of state, and we feel like the Phunky Monkeys gave them a true New Orleans experience. They gave us such a gift with a night that we will always remember with so much love and gratitude! Thank you Phunky Monkeys! Michael is awesome to work with and very laid back. They also were our second line band after the reception and killed it. Our guests were blown away. Michael organized everything for the second line and it was absolutely perfect. If you book the Phunky Monkeys you really don't need to worry much about what food you serve or what your flowers look like- they will keep you and your guests so engaged and entertained! If the dance floor is a priority for your event- please book them! I wish we could re-live this night- as do all of our guests!

AMAZING! These guys were everything we had hoped for and more! They did it all perfectly. We had guests asking us, "When will the band start?" We said, "That is the band!"....They thought it was a CD playing until the band started...they were THAT GOOD!

I wish I could give these guys 50 stars. They were phenomenal, professional, and easy to work with. We never left the dance floor. During the mother-son dance, my mother in law thought they were playing a record- nope, their Louis Armstrong is that good. They played everything from Prince and Queen to the Friends theme song and SEC fight songs. My uncle is a talent agent (in the music industry) and he watched them meticulously. He said they're the best band he's seen in his almost 50-year career. Schedule your wedding around their availability.

From big band, classic rock to today’s hit music, they played it all. And they finished the night off with the traditional New Orleans second line. I heard the Phunky Monkeys at a friend's wedding and knew that I had to have them play at ours. They were the first thing I booked. Michael is easy to communicate with and they have a massive set of songs that they can play. Every member of the band is talented and fun. Our guests could not stop raving about them.

WOW I cannot say enough great things about the Phunky Monkeys! They played at our wedding back in October in Shreveport, LA! Our guests are still talking about how awesome they were! They played all of the music for our first dances. My dad and I wanted to do a medley for our first dance. When I called mike to ask if the medley was possible, I figured it might be a long shot, but he immediately told me it would be no problem at all. Mike and his crew are super easy to work with and were very quick to respond to emails when I had questions. They were very interactive! They have the BEST song list! THEY ARE THE BEST BAND I’ve ever seen at a wedding! Our dance floor was full the ENTIRE night. We did not want it to end! If you are looking for a lively, entertaining, and good-looking band the Phunky Monkeys are your answer!

The Phunky Monkeys were INCREDIBLE!!!!! They were our wedding band and absolutely killed it. They sounded amazing, danced, were professional, and entertained the hell out of each and every guest. We hired The Phunky Monkeys for our wedding in 2017 and they were so amazing that people are still telling they are “the best” band they have ever heard at a wedding. If you are looking for a band to get your guests dancing, having a good time, and talking about it for years, this is your band. The Phunky Monkeys are unbelievably talented, fun, and professional. To add to that, they are friendly, easy to work with, and accommodating. They played a special song for our first dance that I wasn’t so sure how well it would sound (some bands are hard to cover), and it was perfect! It was very important to me to have a good band, and the Phunky Monkeys aren’t just good, they are fantastic. My family wants to take a trip back to NOLA just to see them play again. Even Uber drivers were telling our guests they were on their way to see one of the best wedding bands in NOLA. That set the bar high, but the band exceeded everyone’s expectations. I strongly recommend hiring the Phunky Monkeys for a wedding/event. Don’t even look at anyone else. This is your band!

They are SO GREAT! We still have people talking about how amazing the Phunky Money's were at our wedding. A band is a huge part of a wedding and can really make or break the night and these guys MADE the night! Not only do they know how work the instruments but they are some fabulous dancers and amazing singers. I swear at times we thought Whitney Houston was the one up there. They kept the crowd going the entire night. I don't even remember leaving the dance floor because they played one great song after the other! They are so fun and so talented I would highly recommend them to anyone!!

Look no further if you want the best live band for your wedding day. These guys brought the party! They were so much fun and such talented musicians. They were so entertaining- everyone was raving all night long about the band. They were super easy and nice to work with. I spent months researching the best live band in nola, as there are so many to choose from, and I went to Razoo's and saw them live, and knew I needed to book them. And trust me, they didn't disappoint. They really blew me away and were even better than I had imagined. In my pre-wedding stress, I forgot to get them a song list, but they KILLED it on song selection. Everyone was dancing all night long. People forgot to eat and drink because they were so wrapped up on the dance floor. Easily the best wedding band I've ever seen. They can do any genre and do it well. Don't hesitate- just book them!!!

The BEST reception band I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. First of all, every single musician of the Phunky Monkeys is incredibly talented -- I had multiple guests come up to me praising the fact that they thought a CD track was being played during the reception because the band sounds as good (if not better) than the original versions of the songs. Just check out clips of their performances on their website. They also have a very impressive song repertoire to chose from. Covering Motown, Top 40 hits, Country, 80's music, Michael Jackson, Prince, Alternative, etc., their >12 page song list means you will find exactly what you like. I have very high music standards, so I chose every song for the reception, from which the band created a wonderful playlist that kept my guests on the dance floor! Also, this band loves to perform, and the entire experience was spectacular. They took efforts during the set to help my husband and I feel special and to involve our guests in the reception. Frankly, I don't think my husband and I left the dance floor during the entire reception because this band was so incredibly spectacular. You MUST book the Phunky Monkeys for your event!

The Phunky Monkeys are an INCREDIBLE wedding band! We first heard about them from a friend of a friend who had gone to a wedding where they had played. The goal for our wedding was to hire a band where no one wanted to leave the dance floor all night, mission accomplished! We went to see them play at Razoo's to scope them out, after watching multiple videos on their website. We were blown away! They play all kinds of music from current hits to ballads, pop, oldies, you name it, they have someone amazing to sing it! The minute we heard them at Razoo's we signed a contract with them, even before booking our venue! It was the first wedding decision we made and one of the best. Both my husband and I LOVE to dance and The Phunky Monkeys over delivered. On top of that, Michael is SUPER responsive on emails and phone calls, which is great for a Type A bride like me. When we were searching for a band, we quickly looked at two others on You Tube before seeing the Phunky Monkeys. Ten seconds into the video, the search was over! A look at a few other songs and videos on line and we were even more convinced! And, if possible, coming out of the wedding, we are convinced even more so!! They were spectacular!!! I cant even count the number of complements that we received from our guests, many of which were musicians and all of which were on the dance floor throughout. Their talent is incredible! Our favorites included Sweet Child of Mine, Proud Mary and Kiss but everything was amazing!! They were also extremely accomodative - my wife and her friend sang Jethro Tull with the band and Mike endured my half lost drunken slur rendition of Just a Friend with the band. And finally, Mike was great to work with throughout the planning and during the event. I cant help but smile when their name is mentioned. Just WOW! I couldnt recommend them more highly!!!

The Phunky Monkeys are the absolute best wedding band ever!! They played at our wedding in August, and we could not have had more fun. We had so many people come up to us after saying, "the band yall had was the best I have ever seen!" They made our wedding reception so much fun! 10/10 would recommend them!!

AMAZING band! These guys are top notch! We were so impressed with them from planning and working with Michael Taylor on the details, all the way until the end of the reception. We hired Michael and his band over a year ago for my daughter's wedding after hearing them play in the French Quarter. Our wedding was October 13, 2017. There are no words that do them justice. They are simply the best band we could have chosen. I must have heard from every person at the wedding, "where did you find this band? They are incredible!" And the best compliment for them, I am sure, the dance floor was always full. They are not only amazingly talented, but incredibly professional and easy to work with, and worth every dime. They play an array of music that will get all your guests moving. My second daughter caught the bouquet and I am tempted to book them as a precaution because they are just that good. AMAZING is an understatement!! When you want the very best, there is only one choice - Phunky Monkeys. I had multiple guests come up to me and say that they were the greatest band that they had ever seen, at a wedding. I had others who said that they forgot to drink because they were dancing the entire time. As the night went on, they seemed to figure out exactly what everyone wanted to hear to the point where it felt that our entire wedding was dancing. In the end, they did our second line, which was incredible! I, wholeheartedly, recommend the Phunky Monkeys for your wedding!!!

Of every wedding detail, our favorite was the Phunky Monkeys. We already knew from extensive research and reputation that they were the best band (they are a band who performs at local venues - not a "cover" or "wedding" band, but outright amazing musicians in their day job), but the show they put on was like no wedding I have ever been to. The talent, versatility, charisma, care and pure energy made our dance party an evening that all of our guests will never forget (and cannot stop talking about). From oldies, to Nola classics, to late night dirty dirty southern hits they did it all with talent and passion that made us think that we were listening to the original singer. The group has women and men who can play and sing as well as any originals / anyone. Yes, ANYONE. We cannot express our gratitude - as we kept proclaiming throughout the evening of our wedding - to the Phunky Monkeys. Thank you for bringing so much love and fun and musical zeal to our reception. I am excited that I get to see you all perform around Nola! Genuine bottom line: 10/5 starts.

Amazing musicians and entertainers! The Phunky Monkeys played for our reception and everyone had a blast! They kept the party going and led the appropriate mood changes for cake cutting and bouquet/ garter tosses, even led a Congo line throughout the venue and outside with their instruments for a beautiful sparkler leave! I cannot say enough good things about this band! It's a full production with lights and tvs and they do NOT disappoint! Thanks so much to Mike and the band for helping make our special day truly phenomenal!
