We first worked with Alex for our engagement photos, and loved the experience — and the photographs — so much that we immediately knew we wanted her back for our wedding weekend.

Neither of us is particularly comfortable in front of a camera. We are decidedly not “Instagram people,” and the idea of spending an afternoon being photographed in multiple outfits and locations could very easily have felt awkward. With Alex, it was the opposite. We had an absolute blast.
She planned the locations and setups beautifully, took us from home to the beach, incorporated our dog (an essential member of the family) effortlessly, and somehow kept the whole afternoon feeling spontaneous and relaxed. She gave us direction when we needed it without ever making anything feel overly posed or artificial. By the end, we had almost forgotten we were doing a photo shoot.
And then we got the photographs. They are beautiful, warm, intimate, and unmistakably us. We loved them enough that several are now framed throughout our home — probably the best testament we can give to Alex’s work.
Beyond being enormously talented, Alex is simply a joy to spend time with. She made something we were a little apprehensive about genuinely fun, and captured this moment in our lives in a way we’ll always treasure.
We’ve since asked Alex and Picture Me Lovely to come back to photograph our rehearsal dinner and wedding, and there really isn’t a stronger recommendation than that. We can’t wait to have her with us again.

We knew we didn’t want the typical beach engagement photos, and Alex was completely on board with that. We were able to shoot in several different locations and change outfits, so we ended up with such a great variety of photos that all feel different while still feeling like us.
