Photography and Videography was one of the vendors that meant the most to me. I had a wonderful photographer with PTW who did our engagement session on the beach a few weeks after ...we were paired with her after booking. Those photos came back beautiful, and made me so excited to have her shoot with us on the wedding day.
Unfortunately, she left the company. There were internal reasons she decided to leave, and Reddit had a few things to say about that when I looked up the company. For some time, I was without a photographer, and it took about a week for PTW to reach out to me after our original photographer told us she had left the company and could not accommodate shooting our wedding. To say I was upset would be an understatement. I was also very concerned that we had already done our engagement session, and the new photographer would be meeting us for the first time on wedding day. That hiccup in particular is what put the review at 4 stars.
I kept pushing, maybe incessantly is a good word for my efforts, for a new photographer to be assigned. We were paired with Renee, who I had actually noted as my number 2 choice previously when I was given 5 galleries to peruse to decide on a photographer the first time. I liked her attention to detail, style and posing of couples in the gallery I saw. She turned out to be one of my favorite vendors. She was so responsive for several weeks until the wedding day. She offered to give us a mini session to get to know her and her style of shooting to ensure we were comfortable with her - which we took her up on and were so happy with those photos. Her positive attitude, professionalism, and willingness to go above and beyond for us was what restored my faith in PTW after the change in photographer. She worked with me to create an organized shot list (which, since we did not do a first look, was important to move through photos quickly to let our guests get back to cocktail hour as soon as possible). On the shot list, I noted I really wanted the groom's reaction as I walked down the aisle. My husband said this was definitely understood, as he saw the camera square on him as he tried to hold back his tears. They understood the assignment! Renee arrived on time, even a bit early, and kept us on schedule.
Marc, our videographer, knows what he's doing. I didn't actually talk to him until the day before my wedding, which did leave me a little unsettled, but after chatting with him and seeing his work in the first few minutes of getting ready photos, I was even more excited for the video. He gave my girls and I great cues and had fun and original ideas. Even though we were a touch late for sunset, we still got the photos and he had appropriate lighting to make them work. I was really happy with every preview I saw on the camera on wedding day.
I cannot wait to see my final products. Even with the initial hiccups, PTW's actual photographer Renee and videographer Marc were amazing and I would recommend them specifically to anyone looking for personable, fun, creative, and professional individuals to capture their special event.
I will also note, I did also spring for an extra hour of both photography and videography to make sure we had ample time to get all the photos/video content to make a complete album.
