Piece of Cake Catering and Desserts

I highly recommend Piece of Cake! The two women who run the shop are so kind and very helpful. We had a gluten free cake and it was phenomenal. We had so many compliments on our cake, everyone loved it! And the cake itself was gorgeous!! They let me make changes less than a week before the wedding which was so nice of them and they were so helpful with the entire process. If you want the best cake you'll ever eat, this is the place to go!

I did a dessert/fruit buffet for my wedding. The owner was so willing to work with us and give me exactly what I wanted, though sometimes she gave wild suggestions that were a little over the top for my taste... She was so friendly and excited about working with us. On wedding day, she came out to the venue and set up the buffet. Decorated and arranged the food in a phenomenally beautiful display! The food was delicious - of course as the bride I didn't get to eat nearly as much of it as I wanted! We had chocolate covered strawberries, mandarin oranges, and cherries! Lemon and brownie bars! Fresh fruit kabobs! Everything was sooooo good! The only negative I can say is that she used these big beautiful platters for the food that we had to pack up and deliver back to her. Which was a pain for my poor mother because they did not live close to the bakery at all... Also, expensive... But worth it if you can afford it!

Piece of Cake made our wedding cake and a surprise groom's cake for my wedding. They specialize in making fun and creative cakes (or traditional) that accommodate any range of dietary restrictions. We got our cake gluten free, and honestly there was no way to tell. We also got a few cupcakes that were vegan and gluten free, and then we got a single sugar free loaf. Seriously everything tasted just like regular cake! We were very satisfied with our cake designs. We asked for a space - style design on the wedding cake, and I got a groom's cake with a sports team logo on it. The logo looked spot-on accurate, and the space theme on the tower cake was really impressive and fun. For flavors we got red velvet on one layer of the circle cake, and marioberry on the other layer. They were both great flavors. Piece of Cake delivered our cake, and they were there on time, and presented the cakes very professionally! The only reason we give 4 instead of 5 stars if just it seems like the owner and the staff could benefit from a little better organization. For example we placed our order months in advance, and the woman we worked with took many notes about what we wanted. But then when we called back closer to the wedding date, everything that we had explained about had been forgotten. If this were the only example of lack of organization it wouldn't be a problem. But there were many small things like this that we had to deal with. I think it shows just general absentmindedness on part of the company. So it just took a little extra work to make sure everything was the way we wanted it. But in the end it was worth it. The cakes were truly amazing and delicious.

This place made us an amazing gluten free, red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting and chocolate chips. It tasted really good, especially for gluten free. It also held up really well in the heat (August!) and lasted us a few more days afterwards. We didn't order a huge cake, but the size was perfect for us and they put several small layers in it, which was a nice touch. I am not sure on the pricing, however.
