Kurt, Corrine and Angie could not have been any more cooperative throughout the process answering my numerous logistics questions, providing food tastings and accommodating our requests. The food was fantastic and accommodation of food allergies was great. We had a band on the patio and with the outside lights it was magical. The price points were extremely competitive relative to other venues of similar quality. I would highly recommend Pine Knob mansion and its wonderful staff.

evening. Our guests were excessive in expressing their enjoyment in the evening. Also, I was very concerned about having good food for our wedding. I hadn’t heard much about the food at Pine Knob so I wasn’t sure. Fortunately, the food was amazing. Pine Knob organizes a tasting event where you can test out most of the menu. The head chef took to time to talk with every bride and groom and express the menu isn't restricted to what they have listed in their pamphlets. In the end the food was delicious and I wish I would have had more of an appetite that night! Also, I didn’t think I would have much interaction with the bartenders, but they made me a special drink with my favorite liquor and it was great. They were outgoing, friendly, and interacted wonderfully with the guests. Thank you so much for a perfect wedding!!

From the regal feel of the dinning hall with swords and shields on display. We thoroughly enjoy the outdoor ceremony and how it lends itself to beautiful photo opportunities. The most exciting part was that the rain had passed so could enjoy dancing outside under the lights. No need to worry about pesky insects for we never found ourselves shoeing any away anything. the year and a half I spent planning the wedding. Corinna did a great job facilitating things on my wedding day, she was very kind and helpful! She even stayed late so that we were able to rehearse at the venue the night before our wedding, it was very kind. Kurt made sure all of our menu and seating chart needs worked out perfectly- we had several vegans/ individuals with allergies and he also helped us work out the seating chart challenges we were having. Not to mention the food was AWESOME! We got so many compliments on the appetizers and meals. In the middle of my ceremony, it started downpour raining out of nowhere- it wasn't even forecasted! Most people ran under the gazebo with us. Kurt rushed to give people umbrella's from the patio and he even turned on the sound system on the dance floor, and set up chairs so people could watch and hear the ceremony from inside. He was awesome! It turned out to be the most intimate and memorable ceremonies. It rocked!! Thank you Pine Knob for a fabulous wedding day <3

we went down to the Carriage House. Kurt and Angie were amazing and always got back to me on my questions within hours if not minutes of me shooting them an email. Food wise they were extremely accommodating and even let us come up with an appetizer that wasn't on their menu! All of our guests who got the filet said they couldn't believe how perfectly they was cooked! All the food was amazing! Kurt went above and beyond with making sure every little detail was perfect. He even made sure our parents were doing well throughout the night! Honestly I cannot thank Pine Knob enough for making our big day the most memorable and perfect day of my life. Highly recommend them to everyone!

They have so many dishes to choose from and made special dishes for my Vegan bridesmaid and her boyfriend. Kurt made the entire wedding process pain free and easy. Anything I asked for he made happen. On the day of our wedding he was so helpful; it was like he was in 10 places at once. Angie made planning pain free and always responded to my e-mails almost immediately. We had cheesecakes brought in and they plated each a decorated them with chocolates and raspberries free of charge. The prices were appropriate for what you get in your wedding. The facilities were newly renovated in areas and extremely clean. I loved that they let us come in on the Wednesday before the wedding to set up and had our rehearsal on Friday night. If you're looking for a beautiful venue with delicious food and great customer service this is where you need to book.

There were a couple miscommunications between when we booked and a few months out, but the staff really pulled it together and stepped up in the months leading up to the reception. Kurt, the catering manager, and the chef will work with you to design your menu around your wants and needs. Our guests raved about the food, especially the vegetarian eggplant dish; those who had the vegetarian dish said they've never had a better meal! Kurt and the staff and Pine Knob were great to work with, accomodating, and really do want to make sure your event goes smoothly.

Kurt was a sweetheart and made sure everything was going so smoothly, even when our hotel screwed up our shuttle service and the ceremony had to start a half hour later. He also would bring us drinks whenever we wanted and would always check in with me to make sure I was happy. As the bride, he even dished out my dinner for me at the buffet and brought my plate back with me to my table. He was amazing and beyond kind. The bartenders were also extremely kind and very timely with serving everyone and making sure the guests were enjoying themselves. The food was unbelievable as well. The chicken quattro fromaggio dish was so delicious!! My guests throughout the night repeatedly kept commenting on how amazing everything was from the venue, to the food, to the staff. I would recommend pine knob to any and everyone that is looking for a beautiful venue with great service and staff that is very accommodating. They truly made my wedding day everything I ever imagined.

This venue is beautiful but the Sales team At this establishment is the SOLE reason I will not hold my wedding there. I will not recommend it to anyone I know getting married. I also have never written a bad review about an establishment online before, but this was necessary to warn future brides.

Kurt was super awesome and quick to fix anything that needed tweaking with our ceremony set up (on the dance floor due to cold) and got me some hot tea after I came inside freezing from taking pictures. Our guests raved about the Chicken and Salmon from our dinner buffet, and many said it was the best Salmon they ever had. There isn't one thing I can think of that didn't go according to plan, and if it did, I gratefully knew nothing about it!

The food was cooked to perfection and the presentation was awesome! Our guests really enjoyed being able to sit outside after dinner if they chose to do so, and my husband and I loved being able to dance to our first song out on the patio. I cannot say enough good things about this place.

They allowed us to have our rehearsal on Wednesday before the wedding and to set up all our decorations, seating cards, favors, etc. on the night of rehearsal which was a huge help to us. The bridal room was perfect for us, but I was glad that we brought a fan. We rented the pavilion for the ceremony and Kurt was there to guide us when the walk down the aisle. H'ors d'oeuvres were tasty and were served both inside and outside the reception. The dinner was fabulous - hot and delicious. Still getting great comments on the food. The serving staff went out of their way to continuously ask if we needed anything. They even made sure my daughter and her new hubby had boxed take out dinners for after the wedding. No issues with serving drinks. We really had a fun, wonderful night. I wouldn't change a thing. The staff was very attentive and thanked us for cleaning up so quickly. As the door closed behind us as we were leaving,, I wished the evening had not flown by so quickly. Thank you Pine Knob Carriage House staff, especially Kurt, for a memorable and wonderful night!

As stressful as a wedding can be for the Bride & Groom as well as the parents from planning to execution, we can say with the greatest of sincerity that the Staff of Pine Knob made this day one that we will cherish for a lifetime in both pictures and memories. We cannot say enough about Kurt in his kindness, knowledge, attention to detail, flexibility, creativeness and most of all his personality and attitude in taking care of everything. He was a calm as anyone we have ever met and no request was overlooked and those that were a bit over the top (and we had a couple), he looked at us and said "no problem" and it in fact was no problem. Kurt was truly committed to making sure that our daughters wedding day was as special to himself as it was to us and he and his staff showed that desire in every way. We never hesitated to ask questions or share a concern (this was our first wedding) because he never made us feel uncomfortable or that we were pestering him. He was honest in his answers and what we appreciated most was that if he felt a direction we were going in may not be the best, he presented us with alternatives and the reasons why and we can say that in every instance, he helped us make the right decision. We had the ceremony at the Carriage House and the reception at the Mansion. As it was during the Christmas season, both venues were beautifully decorated both inside and out. The Carriage House was set beautifully and again, Kurt left no detail undone. One very touching memory is that Kurt was right there throughout the ceremony and while myself and my daughter awaited our walk down the isle, Kurt stood next to her, a small nervous tear in her eye and made her smile and relax with a refreshing story. There were tables set up with glasses of Champagne for an after ceremony drink, and some lite appetizers after our Horse and Carriage took the Bride & Groom to the Mansion and we needed to have friends and family take their time going up to the Mansion so as not to overwhelm the Valet staff (Kurt's idea) though he had plenty of staff taking care of business at the Mansion. The menu that we had selected with the help of Kurt and Micheal (head chef), was outstanding, right down to the strawberries on the rims of the champagne glasses that we must say Micheal took upon himself to track down fresh strawberries in the winter for us out of kindness and not necessity (and the Kurt's request). The food was far beyond our expectations as was the service by all of the serving staff. The meals were ALL served hot and the presentation on the plates was in a word "artistic" and without a doubt - a gourmet meal!! The bar staff were a delight and could not have been more cordial to our guests as well as ourselves. We opted for the 'premium bar' and it was outstanding and enjoyed by all. Kurt told us at the beginning of this journey that he would be there throughout the entire process and he was, right down to packing up the vehicles at the end of the night. The entire event and all of the coordination went on without a single problem and we attribute that to the entire staff at Pine Knob and the phenominal direction of Kurt. 5 stars are not enough!!!

BUT DO NOT FEAR THINGS HAVE CHANGED!! : ) My father in law was very sick with cancer and ended up passing away a month and a half before our wedding day (which I should note: we had moved up 3 times with Pine Knob on account of his failing health and they were very nice about it). So wedding planning with the venue took a back seat for me pretty much until a few months before the wedding. When I called back I was thrilled to hear that there was a change in staff and was told Kurt took over and had over 20 years experience. When I talked to him he was SO nice, SO personable and SO relaxed. He went with any idea I had and even agreed to meet with my mother and I in person so she could go over details with him as well. We went over the whole menu with him, he even changed things up to personalize it to our liking, and made it SO EASY for me about all the food allergies and diets people had. I really cannot rave enough about how perfect and easy he made everything for me. The day of went amazing! Kurt hung around and checked in on us and made sure the schedule was to my liking. He was totally relaxed, which made it SUPER easy for me to communicate with him when we were behind schedule (our hotel shuttle got lost on the way to the venue and set us back a solid 50 min the whole night...) He completely put me at ease and took care of everything. The staff was super friendly and the food was AMAZING. My dad who used to work in restaurant -management for a steakhouse and who RARELY is complimenting food told me it was the best prime rib he had ever eaten. All my veg, gluten free, dairy free friends said their meals were phenomenal. Every single person I have talked with since the wedding has complimented the beautiful venue AND food. I was so thrilled. I was 10000% recommend Pine Knob to anyone and I think you get above and beyond and amazing experience. As a bride dealing with such tragic and difficult issues right before the wedding—I was on edge, I felt disorganized and incredibly stressed. The whole staff at Pine Knob (especially Kurt) made all the difference for me and completely took away any stressors the day of and leading up to it. I was able to enjoy my wedding and it was everything I ever dreamed of.

I am in the service industry and work as a waitress and bartender and couldn't help but notice how rude and unpleasant the staff here was (one woman in particular)! I am not sure if it was the "bar manager" (who everyone else is talking poorly about in these reviews) that was absolutely miserable the entire night, but she was definitely the person in charge. (She was coordinating the servers as to which tables got what entrees.) Several of us guests commented on how unfriendly and mean she was, and god forbid if she smiled once the entire night. I even at one point told my Finance," even if we did want to get married here based on the venue itself, I wouldn't because of the staff". It is quite sad to see various complaints about the service at Pine Knob. The place truly is beautiful, but when you are working an event when two people are celebrating the happiest day of their lives, the staff should be much more pleasant, no matter the circumstances!!!

e venue is beautiful, everything had been set up to a T! The staff had been so helpful during the planning process. It was truly a dream, minus the bar manager. Upon arrival she immediately had an attitude with myself, my mom and my mother in law. It was raining outside and the original plan was to have cocktail hour in the covered area, she suggested that we move the cocktail hour inside, which we were open to, but the event was not set up inside yet. So we had our guests stay in the outside (100% covered) area for cocktail hour until the venue was set up. She told us we were not running it the way she would run it. I, personally, wasn't aware her opinion was of relevance, as it was not her wedding or her money. The rest of the night she was miserable. Slamming glasses around behind the bar, telling our guests (several who had only had 1-2 beers) that they needed to drink a water before they could receive another drink. All of our guests were over the age of 21 and we had provided a shuttle service to and from the venue. Many guests brought this to our attention so we (the bride and groom addressed it), the woman then said it was only 2 people she had told that, but was not able to show us who those individuals were, but decided to close the bar down (she had additional excuses like someone shoved her and someone called her a name). After a short while, a very nice girl who worked at the venue told us the bar was back open and all was okay, only for the grouch of a bar manager to come back in and insist the bar was closed and for the police to later show up. The police were visibly embarrassed that they were called to the event, as the bar manager played a 'he said she said' game that neither the police or we were interested in. Based on the way it was handled, I truly felt like we were having our wedding in a trailer park club house vs. Pine Knob. It was a HORRIBLE way to end our evening and totally changed our image of Pine Knob. If you read the reviews, many, many, many people have had the same experience with the bar manager and Pine Knob replies with nothing but excuses for this individual. It is a real shame. The entire event was absolute perfection, minus the one woman who was clearly on a power trip. If someone asked me if I would suggest Pine Knob, I would say no. To pay that much money and be treated the way we were is absolutely unacceptable.

It was also perfect for in case of rain... They had an indoor dance area that converted for the ceremony if needed. As the bride, it meant the world to me that I didn't have to discuss, worry about, or deal with any problems on the day of the wedding... Paige had it all covered. She gave us our cues, told us when to be where we needed. She directed the vendors and musicians, assisted the guests. The reception was excellent. Several guests told me that the food was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. We also heard that the cocktail hour snacks were great, although we totally missed them getting photos. The table set up makes for a little bit of congestion with guests being able to move around, but that was because we were filled to capacity. The decor of the great hall was so elegant that we didn't really need any decorations other than simple, tasteful centerpieces. Photo opportunities at the Mansion and on the grounds were endless. Fountains, gazebos, ponds, gardens... even the foliage and grass and walkways were picturesque. Seriously. Photos on the web DO NOT do this venue justice. You have to go see it. Everyone said it was the most elegant venue they had experienced. I felt like royalty.

We had paid for the head table to get champagne for the toasts/speeches.... and that was no where to be found (until after) so when the bridal party asked for a drink they were told to 'get it them selves'. One of my bridesmaids was actually told by a bartender to get back in line to get someone else from the bridal party a drink. Then proceeded to talk bad about the bridesmaid to the remaining guests at the bar! Totally unprofessional. Paige the wedding coordinator was no where to be found for a while- until I asked for the fifth time (there were two weddings that night) if she could come sort somethings out (champagne issue)... Once Paige arrived things got a little better. However, the bartender had an attitude the rest of the night- which should have been taken care of. It is really sad how a BEAUTIFUL night can be ruined for some of my guests by someone having a bad day. **Quick update: A guest of mine reviewed my wedding at the Pine Knob carriage house on Yelp. The bartender that was at my wedding- the one that was having a bad day- private messaged her! Very inappropriate stuff in my opinion, basically harassing her! I will leave it up to you to look at the message Yelp! But i am very disappointed that stuff like that had to happen. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

My wedding was during the winter months, so we had discounted pricing, and I would say I definitely got my money's worth. I am not sure that I would feel the same had I paid summer pricing. It is a little steep. The venue is gorgeous! I would recommend this venue to anyone with a small-mid size wedding (no more than 130).

Another complaint I have, and I knew this from the beginning when we signed with this venue, the room for the bride to get ready in is TINY. We learned the day of the wedding how poorly ventilated it is, it was so stinking hot in that room. Overall, the views are spectacular. The reception was beautiful. And even though I felt as if we didn't have good support after we paid in full (in cash), I would recommend it if you want an out doorsy feel in the middle of the city.

Tables outside were not wiped off and the staff refused to wipe them down because they had done it for yesterday's wedding. My husband ended up wiping them down. The ceremony chairs were set up wrong. When we requested them moved we were questioned why like it was our fault. A simple "how can we change them" would have been nice. We also had a photobooth scheduled to arrive, but they had set up the coffee station where the photobooth was supposed to be set up. When we requested that the coffee station be moved, all we heard was "why? I have nothing written down stating you have a photobooth." My husband and his groomsmen planned to have pictures taken at the Mansion which was previously approved by Lisa since there was no wedding scheduled at the Mansion. As soon as they stepped foot inside, they were yelled at by a woman saying they were not allowed inside. Once again, a simple calm statement would have sufficed. While outside she continued to yell at them telling them where they could and couldn't take photos. Back in the bridal room, our Champagne arrived about 30 min prior to our ceremony starting. Before my husband was about to enter the ceremony, Lisa informed him that he was walking down the aisle and changing how we rehearsed it the night before. My husband tried to explain to her that's not the way we wanted it, but soon gave in because he didn't want to create a scene. The ribbon across our aisle way was not cut before he walked down the aisle. During our reception Lisa escorted the tables for the buffet. She was not seen the rest of the night. Full drinks were constantly picked up by staff while our guests were dancing. At the end of the night the staff were rude to my parents who requested the remaining wedding cake telling them they didn't know where it was. After telling them they better get the cake they soon brought it out. We realized that instead of cutting our wedding cake first, they cut our extra just in case something happens sheet cake. The whole bottom tier of our wedding cake was still in tact. We specifically told Lisa to cut our wedding cake first. My parents also tried to help the photobooth host take down her equipment since she was having a little difficulty. Staff were rude to my parents saying they could not help her. My parents got the feeling that they were just itching to start charging us if we weren't out by midnight. However, we did get everything out before midnight. Beautiful grounds and reception space, but TERRIBLE service and staff which is too bad....

isa, is beyond helpful. I was emailing her everyday for a month before the wedding (along with my mother) with new questions that we had. She answered them all immediately and did not mind the constant emails. She's very easy to get a hold of. I loved every part of my wedding and heard from guests that it was the nicest wedding they have been to. Only one thing, my wedding was forced to start about 30-40 min late due to the expressway being very backed up. Less than half the guests were at the wedding when we were supposed to start so they said they would delay for me to make sure people had a chance to get there. The wedding started late, which meant dinner started late, which meant drinks and dancing started late. When I asked if I would be allowed to end my reception 30 minutes later than the original time I was simply told "No" without an explanation. I'm sure there's reasons they could not extend and I'm sure the staff wanted to leave at midnight, but I was upset because we spent a lot of money there. I paid the dj and photobooth for a certain amount of hours as well as a lot of money on the actual wedding. I felt the dancing was rushed and cut short which is upsetting, but I understand they need to stick to a deadline. Overall I had a great experience there and they worked hard to keep things moving although the wedding was delayed, I just wish it had not been so rushed towards the end.

endly and helpful, both in the planning and the execution and everything went swimmingly! I wouldn't have changed one thing; it really was better than I'd ever hoped! Guests commented all night long about how pretty the venue was and the locals were excited to know it was there. I cannot imagine having chosen anywhere else for our wedding. Thank you, thank you, thank you to the Mansion staff!

. The mansion and the gardens are among the most beautiful in the state. However, the food was AWFUL. We were not allowed to do any tasting before the wedding, and were forced to choose from a menu. For the wedding reception, Lisa was no where to be found, and the head waitress was in charge. We started dinner 45 minutes late. The filet mignon was overdone, and the chicken was hard and cold. Our head table didn't even have water. During the dancing portion of the evening, an older man on staff whom I had never seen before came into the wedding and started yelling/swearing at the band and DJ that they were in breach and that he was going to shut down the whole wedding because we hadn't closed the doors to the gardens because of noise laws. He was completely RUDE and made a huge scene at the wedding in front of all the guests. I was SO embarrassed as the bride. My husband went over to talk with him to calm things down, and he proceeded to swear and yell at him as well. Toward the end of the evening, we noticed that we had paid for 2 bartender and there was only 1. She also closed the bar down a 1/2 hour earlier than we paid for as well. I would not recommend this location to anyone unless you absolutely love the location. Otherwise, go some where else.

r had a form of contact again until January 2012. We were promised that we could take pictures at "Shared" location up behind the mansion, while my wedding party was up taking pictures we were harassed by a worker from the golf course who was swearing at us telling us we were not allowed to go up there. My photographer was able to take 10 pictures up there and we went back to the single fountain where the majority if our pictures were taken. I would not have booked there for the price we paid to get treated like that. Also, my planner told me a week before in an email that she wouldn't be there the day if the wedding but there would be someone there in her place. This was after she wad talking badly about me to a vendor of mine who was a friend if mine, very professional! A bartender was appointed wedding planner 1 hour before our ceremony began who had zero information about the day. One of my favorite moments of the day was when a couple was looking at the location while I was in the bridal suite getting my dress steamed and they just walked in looked around and acted like it was ok. Things kept going wrong until the food was being served, the service was great and very timely. The food was wonderful and everyone loved it.

it every mark. The staff was very professional throughout the entire process. I only have a few minor complaints about some of the staff including one woman working the reception who was a little pushy to my wedding party and the person in charge of catering who didn't have the warmest demeanor but overall, these are relatively small complaints. My wedding turned out beautifully and would love to do it all over again with PKM! Food was excellent too.

a wedding planner the day of. Only negative aspect is that the dance floor is separated from the dining room, which made for a slightly less busy dance floor but worked out alright. Oh, and the 150 guest max was tough but ended up being for the best. I highly recommend this venue for brides looking for a nice outdoor wedding with an only slightly less beautiful indoor backup.

ontact was Lisa for the entire planning duration, and we couldn't find her at all that day. When my husband found her, he said she had nothing but criticisms to say about bouts, the schedule, etc. I asked for a water and I was looked at like I was asking the biggest thing in the world. The wait staff actually removed the salad plates and placed them on people's laps that weren't done eating, telling them "they were not fast enough". Thank goodness these were young friends and not our older aunts and uncles. How embarassing. Both my husbands parents and my parents were disgusted with Lisa, our coordinator's, treatment towards them. Our mom asked a question (one of the children were never served at the table) and Lisa gave her a hand to the face and basically told her to shut up. She also kicked out our both our parents, one who walks with an oxygen tank, out of the carriage house during rehearsal (doors close at 5, we werent getting there til 515). He needed somewhere cool to sit so he could catch his breath, but she did not care at all. It's a shame that their managers and coordinators are so rude. The bar staff was great and the wedding reception was breathtaking. We got many compliments on decor and several people said it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Everything else was perfect dealing with that, but because of their attitude I can't grade high.

ho is the general manager. They were terrible to work with! Numerous calls that I made, ended with me feeling unwelcome and that I was taking up their time. I really felt like just a profit to them. They were concerned with business, not brides. On the day of our rehearsal, it was cold and we were waiting for all people to arrive. We stepped in the building to stay warm, and they asked us to leave the building because they set up a room for tomorrow's wedding. We were nowhere near that room so I don't see what the problem was. They were being stand off'ish and a little stern by not letting us use the building for our time reserved. Also on the rehearsal, we needed to use the outdoor plugs to time out our ceremony music with the coordinator. They said the would not turn on the power for us, we can only use power on the wedding day. So our rehearsal was cut short. They were not flexible or helpful at all. Quite terrible to work with. It gets worse! On the day of the wedding, I arrived at the Mansion no one was around. The hallway to our room was blocked off by purposefully placed chairs. Finally, someone came up to us and told us we couldn't use our room I reserved for us and pointed us elsewhere down dark hallways and dark stair cases. They had no explanation for that. They also messed up what room I had reserved, even though I had called their facility nearly a dozen times in a year. (Yet again, we're greeted with another uncalled for "no"!) The staff should have escorted us to to our new location to be helpful, especially after they said we couldn't have the room we reserved. They might be familiar with the layout, but we had no idea where to go. Staff was not helpful. As we went to the room, no lights were on, and when we got to the room, it was freezing and no lights were on (the rooms should have been lit and ready for us! A true warm welcoming for the special day!!), After guessing where else we needed to be Diane the manager then noticed I was there, and came up to me and said, "Now, you must leave the ground by 2....okay? Everyone off of the grounds by 2pm!" It would have been nice if she said, 'Hello, you must be Miss Blank, how are you today? Let me show you your dressing room.. can I get you a water?...' She was very rude by not even greeting any of us with a proper "Hello" and instead immediately telling me when I needed to be off their grounds. Once again, my bridal party, and mother commented that they felt very un-welcomed in their establishment. Another concern for other brides to be aware of. They didn't want guests to walk through the Mansion (even though I paid $300 for valet, partially, so guests could walk through the Mansion to experience it's beauty. They also didn't let us to use the library to sign our marriage license, even though I paid for my time in the Mansion. I paid $1,500 and their only service to be preformed was for them to set up chairs, and they didn't even do that right. We were 10 minutes away from the ceremony starting, and they're still setting up chairs! My guests were standing on the patio, waiting for them to finish. Setting up the chairs should have been completed well before the ceremony. Robbery!

in Oakland county and you can see for miles, the bridal room upstairs is a must have!! Just beautiful. if you are looking for a smaller beautiful wedding this is the place. You can get married out side at the gazebo. I wanted to get get married in the catholic church, other wise you could have your whole day and night there. also a beautiful location. My ceremony and reception were both at the Mansion; the setting was nothing like I found elsewhere. The price wasn't cheap, but it seemed reasonable when compared against comperable locations.

re out-of-the-box menu options, which was great. The cost per person is a little high, but it includes bar, food and gratuity.
