Laura did an amazing job on our wedding cake! It was exactly what we wanted for our fall wedding- beautifully decorated with Laura's homemade apple cider donuts! Our guests were constantly commenting on how beautiful and delicious the cake was! Would highly recommend!

I truly cannot say enough good things about Pip & Bits! Laura, the owner, was wonderful to work with from start to finish. She was so thoughtful about both the design and flavors of the cake. We wanted a cake that evoked an Art Deco vibe to go with our Great Gatsby/roaring 20-inspired wedding, but we didn't want it to be overly theme-y. She delivered an absolutely gorgeous design that perfectly captured the "understated glam" look we were hoping for. We went with two flavors that were elevated, unique takes on classic flavors - chocolate cake with bourbon pecan cream cheese filling, and vanilla cake with salted honey vanilla buttercream filling. (My husband and I never would have thought we would have chosen a chocolate wedding cake, but Laura's recipe is out of this world.) Everyone raved about how delicious it was. Overall, a fantastic experience with Laura - I'm already thinking about when I might be able to get another cake from her!

Could not recommend Pip & Bits more. Laura was a delight to work with and provided insight and help throughout the process. The tasting was perfect and so easy. It was so tough not to choose the chocolate cake, but we went with the lemon. It was phenomenal. The type of cake where people do not stop talking about it after the wedding!

We loved our wedding cake from Pip & Bits! We received five tasting samples before ordering our cake, and choosing between the options was a tough decision because they were all so good. We ended up choosing two flavors (chocolate w/espresso and spice cake w/cream cheese) and they were both fantastic. We ordered more portions than we thought we'd need, and we still barely managed to take home a few slices because guests wanted seconds. The cake was also gorgeous--Laura provided a beautiful dreamy paint-inspired design that perfectly matched the aesthetic of the event. We couldn't have been happier! And as an Astoria resident, I was glad to support a baker right in my neighborhood.

Great tasting food was one of the top priorities for us in planning. We had tasted cakes from a popular wedding cake vendor before Pip & Bits, and the moment we tasted Pip & Bits we had a clear winner. Laura, the owner, was very easy to work with. I loved that she had an extensive flavor list with some unique options, and asked for our taste preferences to determine which flavor combinations to have us taste. My husband and I are huge dessert people so do not take it lightly when she says her chocolate cake is the best -- it's true. We ultimately chose a three-layer chocolate cake with speculoos icing which was so delicious and also, stunning. She nailed the look we wanted. So many of our guests told us they don't like cake or chocolate and said they loved the cake. If you've tried other cake vendors and aren't sold on them, I promise Pip & Bits will be the one!

Laura was such a pleasure to work with! She listened so intently to our wants (and our "definitely do not wants") while going through the tasting process and made our to-go cake tasting fun and, of course, delicious. The cake she baked and designed for our wedding was beautiful and delicious, and I would recommend Pip & Bits to anyone looking for a custom cake for any event!

Having a Pip & Bits wedding cake was one of the best decisions that we made for our wedding! We tried a few other vendors and found their flavors to be lacking. Laura's cakes were so tasty and beautiful we had trouble narrowing it down to only 2 flavors for our cake. I had so many people tell me prior to the wedding that they "didn't like wedding cake" and those same people sought me out the day of the wedding and said it was the best cake they've ever had. And not only did the cake taste amazing, it also looked stunning. Do both yourself and your guests a huge favor, and get a Pip & Bits cake!

Laura was so great to work with and her cakes are so delicious. We wanted three smaller cakes instead of one large one and Laura worked with us to create three absolutely incredible flavors: vanilla cake with lemon curd and berries, chocolate cake with hazelnut praline filling, and a spice cake with bourbon pecan cream cheese filling. Every flavor was delicious at our tasting and they were all just as good at our wedding. On top of being delicious, the cakes looked beautiful. Highly recommended.

Laura was an absolute pleasure to work with. From the cake tasting to the final product, it was a perfect! She created 6 tasting cakes for us (some flavors she had and some we asked for). We went with a pistachio cake with raspberry filling and honey vanilla meringue buttercream. It was AMAZING! All the guests said how great the cake was and how unique it was. It was a hit! We highly recommend you work wit Pip & Bits for your big day!

Laura's cakes are amazing! My husband and I went with pear & fig with whiskey caramel frosting - delicious! Additionally, we also had Laura prepare sea salt chocolate chip cookies for each guest, which were a hit. From the tasting to working through my vision, Laura was such a pleasure to work with and my cake turned out so beautiful; it was exactly was I had envisioned for my wedding!

My wife and I had Pip 'n Bits make our wedding cake and could not have been happier! We tried a few other vendors first, and always felt like everything was just a sugar bomb with nothing else to it. Then in comes Pip 'n Bits blowing us away with unbelievably customizable cakes filled with various buttercreams and Italian meringues. We went with one tier of cardamom cake with honey Italian meringue, the largest tier of chocolate cake with nutella buttercream or Italian meringue (I forget which it was) topped and filled with strawberries, and a tier of the best carrot cake I've ever had. Like...actually, I'm usually a chocolate person but the carrot cake is kinda life changing with the candied nuts. What Pip 'n Bits does so well is find flavors that aren't JUST sweet so you actually want to eat a whole slice (or two) as opposed to giving up after two bites. Everything was moist and fluffy, the tasting process was awesome, the cake was beautiful, and it was as good the day of as it was when we did our tasting. I could not recommend Pip 'n Bits highly enough!

Pip & Bits was such an easy choice for our wedding! Laura is a very attentive and caring person. She made the entire process super simple! She was very quick to respond to emails with any questions we had. The tasting was beautifully presented with five different flavor combinations that we custom picked. We narrowed down our cake to chocolate with chocolate ganache with a strawberry layer. It was super delicious! The outer layer was a rich buttercream instead of a fondant. The cake was well balanced and not overly sweet like some cakes tend to be. Additionally the cake was beautifully decorated with cascading flowers. Such an amazing cake and tasty cake!

Laura's cake was amazing. Cake was something that I was personally very much worried about, because most of the wedding cakes that I've tried at other people's wedding was very dry and that was my number one concern. I even considered ordering a number of regular cakes delivered from well known cake places just to play it safe. But I'm extremely happy that I went with Laura. The cake looked breathtakingly beautiful. She made it look exactly like how I imagined our wedding cake to be - feminine and elegant with the double barrel shape, and decorated with gold flakes and soft hued real flowers - and the guests raved about the taste, even though by the time they tried the cake they were stuffed to the neck. The cake was very moist and fresh. We chose the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and fresh strawberries as our bottom tier and the lemon curd with raspberry jam as the top tier. Both tasted fantastic. Laura was also extremely professional in terms of interactions. She was able to accommodate our tasting with a very short notice and made every process very streamlined and easy for us. If you're a perfectionist and indecisive bride just like me, and am worried about pretty much everything, go with Laura :)

WOW! We tried 3 wedding cake bakeries and Pip and Bits blew them all away in terms of service, taste/decoration, design, price and flexibility. They also worked with us on a less than 2 week turnaround. People were RAVING about the cake at our wedding. Don't sleep on their chocolate cake, it truly is the best I've ever had!

I found Pip & Bits on an internet search after my original contracted baker canceled for our wedding a little over a month out and it was a good reminder that everything happens for a reason. Laura replied, among a few others, to my inquiry but her response completely stood out. She was so kind and showed so much interest in learning the details of our day, her email just overall made me happy again and gave me so much hope. We even asked of her to recreate the unique flavor (bourbon pear) we previously picked out, and she willingly took on the challenge. When we picked up our tasting, my fiancé and I could not believe how she actually recreated the flavor we fell in love with AND it tasted even a little better, however that was possible. If that doesn’t speak of her talent I’m not sure what does. We can’t wait to use Laura for all of our future celebrations.

Laura created two cakes for our wedding: a wedding cake and a birthday cake for my husband (we married on his birthday). While they were both beautiful, my husband's birthday cake was especially beautiful and beyond what I ever imagined. They are also SO delicious (vanilla with lemon curd with blueberries; chocolate cake filled with vanilla Italian meringue buttercream and fresh strawberries). Just try them and you will fall in love! As a person, Laura is so pleasant and great to work with. I was a very indecisive bride and Laura was so patient with me as I went through many design changes. Definitely choose Pip & Bits for your event! You will be so happy you did. I know I am.

Laura was a pleasure to work with. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and everyone loved it. It was also so delicious that we ate some for breakfast the morning after!

Laura made the most delicious cake for our micro wedding. Because of COVID, we had to downsize and she was very accommodative with both the tasting and the cake itself, communicating throughout the process. We chose two layers of different flavors. Because they were two different flavors, she was thoughtful on how I wanted the presentation. Hands down, the best red velvet cake i’ve tasted and my guests couldn’t agree more. Hire her! Your taste buds will thank you!

Laura at Pip & Bits was amazing to work with throughout the wedding cake/planning process. She made it easy and effortless to understand the variety of shapes, designs and flavor options and not feel overwhelmed but knowledgeable to select the perfect cake that would fit your wedding style. On the day of Pip & Bits provided white glove delivery and the cake was more than we expected, every detail of the cake was beyond perfect.

This is the best cake we’ve ever had. No joke. I consider myself to be a pretty decent baker and our two wedding cakes put everything I’ve ever made to shame. After talking about all of our favorite flavors Laura brought several tiny towers of cake perfection to our apartment for us to try. They were all so delectable it was nearly impossible to make a decision. (She also worked directly with our florist to create a lovely sophisticated two tier cake design.) We were so thrilled with the end result and so glad we picked Pip n Bits.

Laura was wonderful to work with. My husband and I (so excited to be able to say that phrase now!) interviewed a few cake companies prior to selecting Pip n Bits, and were not impressed with them. We were looking not only amazing flavors and beautiful design, but most importantly we wanted to work with someone who had that IT factor. Well needless to say Laura has it! She was an absolute pleasure to work with. She is thoughtful, professional, and not to mention extremely talented. Laura has an amazing eye for designing the overall look of the cake. Best of all, her cake, fillings, and frosting flavors are incredibly delicious! I'm not a huge chocolate person, but Laura's chocolate cake is beyond words. Much to our surprise we ended up selecting two of her cake flavors because we couldn't just pick one! The chocolate cake with pecan bourbon and cream cheese frosting, and the almond cake with salted honey vanilla buttercream frosting.... just thinking about it makes me want to order another cake! I can't express how happy we are with going with Pip n Bits. Guests are still telling us how much they loved the cake! Hire Laura! You won't regret it.

Amazing process from start to finish. I was a little vague about what my florals for the cake would be because I knew we were going to DIY flowers the day of, and wasn’t sure what would be available but had a rough idea in mind. Laura didn’t seem to mind at all and came up with something magnificent. It tasted fantastic and was one of the most special pieces of our wedding .

Laura's cakes are not only delicious but they are absolutely beautiful! She's easy to work with--from the in-home tasting to delivery of the finished baked goods. We and our guests were very happy :)

Could not say more positive things about Laura D'abate. Out of all the vendors I have, Laura was the easiest to work with and the most responsive. I found her on and she responsed to my inquiry quickly. Laura was also willing to deliver the cakes to me for the tasting. My husband and I previously did a cake tasting with another vendor and was really disappointed with the whole experience. I was expecting this tasting to be exactly the same and boy was I wrong. Not only were the portions much bigger, I can taste each cake and filling flavor. Everything were so delicious that my husband was fighting with his sister the next day to finish the remaining slices. Because my husband is the one with the sweet tooth in this relationship, we requested 3 tier cake, a groom cake and 20 cupcakes. We wanted each tier to be in a different flavor with one of the flavors being lavender and the groom cake to have candy bacon in it. We asked for a 2nd tasting with those cake flavors and once again, she didn't disappoint even with such a strange request. On the day of the wedding, all the cakes were as delicious as it looks, decorate with sercet garden roses and gold. By the end of the night, there wasn't enough cakes for everyone. My emcee was praising the red velvet and he was trying to convince the maitre'd to try a piece. Laura is a lovely person to work with and everything she makes are unforgettable. I can't wait for my husband birthday to come around this year so we can order the bacon cake again. Thank you so much for making my night so memorable. Hubby and I absolutely LOVED the cake!!! For our wedding we of course wanted the cake to look beautiful but wowww did it taste delicious too! My guest took multiple slices to eat and then some to take home. I received so many compliments on the cake. It tasted sooo fresh. Laura is so great to work with. Not only is she sweet, but she really works hard to make sure the cake is exactly what you want. She is accommodating with time and very great when it comes to communication. The price for our cake was extremely reasonable. She does not try to dig a hole in your pocket. Laura has such a great mind and imagination when it comes to different flavors and types of designs. My husband and I wanted something clean and simple to fit our intimate wedding, but was not sure on decoration. I trusted Laura to design the cake & do what she thought would look best for our vision. She nailed it!!! It fit the vibe, the venue, &the flowers on the cake, also perfect! Thank you Laura!! I will definitely recommend Pip n Bits for future events.

So happy we decided to work with Laura @ Pip N Bits for our wedding cake this past October!! The process was stress free and the cakes are delicious! We had a hard time choosing a flavor after our tasting, but we ultimately went with carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Laura’s style was exactly what we were looking for. At our in person meeting she took note on our color scheme and design we envisioned for the cake. The final product was absolutely BEAUTIFUL- Laura brought it to life perfectly with beautiful fresh flowers, just the right frosting and topped it off with our cake topper. Thank you SO MUCH!

We loved working with Laura for our wedding cake project! Laura was super-easy to coordinate with, communicate with, and is beyond talented! I was originally drawn to her work through Instagram since her creations are absolutely perfect! Our cake was no exception, an Italian Meringue Butter Cream semi-naked frosted vanilla cake w/ lemon zest, raspberry jam filling, edible gold foil and decorated with fresh flowers to match the bridal bouquet. It was both stunning and delicious! Our only regret was not having a bigger bite on our wedding day!

To say I was pleased with our cake that Laura designed for us is a complete understatement - it was the most stunning cake and it tasted incredible. Our guests ate ALL OF IT!! It was exactly what I wanted - edible silver leaf on the top tier and she creatively placed flowers from our florist Petals and Roots all over the cake - beautifully designed - a true work of art. Hands down best cake ever! It was absolutely beautiful & we couldn’t get over how incredible it tasted. It was exactly what we wanted & even better than we could have expected. Laura made the cake for our March wedding and it was the absolute best experience.T he cake was incredible, all of our guests commented on how delicious it was and many asked for seconds. Outside of it being delicious, the cake itself was beautiful - I wanted something simple but unique and without giving Laura much direction she created the most gorgeous cake. It was better than I could have even imagined and made our wedding day so special. Laura was so easy to work with, the in home tasting was so much fun, and made the tasting much more personal, it felt like we really got to know and trust in Laura. Delivery was so easy and flawless on the day of the wedding, I am SO happy we chose Pip N Bits. I can't wait to place my next order with Pip N Bits for future events!
