About this vendor
Situated in Excelsior, MN, Pique Travel Design - Event Space is a wedding and events venue with plenty of visual appeal. The antique building is located close to Minneapolis, making it accessible to guests around the Twin Cities. The space balances a laid-back feeling with tones of refinement, making it adaptable to a range of wedding visions.
Constructed in the 1940s, Pique Travel Design - Event Space was originally the Lyman Lumber Warehouse. In 2014, it was completely renovated, making it a modern location with a historic twist, ideal for all kinds of milestone moments. The design features a stone fireplace, reflective of a Minnesotan-lodge style, as well as a built-in concreate bar. The wood-vaulted ceilings and large windows make the space open and light. The deck spanning the side of the building brings to mind a train depot of days gone by. The flooring features yellow markings from the venue's logging days, a unique reminder of the past. Many of the architectural details are reclaimed or refurbished, like the sliding stable doors or the original flooring, giving the event space a charming vintage character.
Pique Travel Design - Event Space is suited to celebrations of between 20 and over 100 guests, making it a versatile venue for a variety of events. The floorplan is open-concept and boasts 3,000 square feet of event space. The venue’s team provides a list of preferred vendors, including caterers, who can craft an array of cuisine. Up to 120 guests can be accommodated for plated dinners and more than 150 guests can join a couple for a standing reception. The farm tables that are provided maintain the building's ambiance and are crafted from reclaimed wood from the warehouse’s original walls. Built-in audiovisual equipment, including a projector and speaker system, are also available for the sweethearts’ to use for toasts and sentimental slideshows and videos.

nicate with, & professional. The location & space are a bonus. Good service at the very definition.
The space was clean with numerous options to use AV equipment. Tasteful & simple decor made our wedding reception exactly what we had in mind. We’d truly recommend partnering with preferred vendors, as well.
Lea (coordinator for catering) with Chef Jeff was fabulous, esp in regard to ingredient info. I have a severe allergy to tree nuts, so she kept me worry-free! Chelsea (beverage service coordinator) for Liquid Motion was also awesome. Pique has a helpful network that we are so happy that we utilized!
The venue was so beautiful and intimate which is what we were looking for and I’d highly recommend the venue. The only thing we did not like was the venue manager, the communicatio...
n wasn’t great at times when it came to getting questions answered because they aren’t a full time employee and we couldn’t call them without setting up a call via email after waiting for a response when all we would need was a quick call regarding for example preferred caterers and if they weren’t available what could we do, etc. the one time I did call as I want aware I needed and appointment to talk, the person was very rude and basically said I interrupted their day. We also never got to see the final floor plan until the day of (maybe we had to request a visit to do this but wouldn’t know as the venue manager never told us or really ever followed up unless it was for the payment and to be frank, we wanted to deal with them as little as possible due to the phone call experience). We had to submit a scan of a paper copy of the floor plan and when we arrived some things were not where they were supposed to be (cocktail tables, high vs. low, etc) and tables were missing for our caterers so my brother had to go searching for them and get them set up. Also, the venue manager was not present on our day that the bride is aware of, a person we had never met was there then left as soon as we arrived and said they lived near by and to contact them if we needed anything.
Amazing venue!! Perfect for our 65 person wedding ceremony and reception. Pictures were 3 blocks away on lake Minnetonka.
On-site parking, outdoor space and bars nearby for guests...
to pre-party made this a perfect venue. Outdoor pics and indoor pics had great backdrops. No decorations needed except flowers as it is a gorgeous space.
Dana was easy to work with as well as venue being so reasonably priced (we could bring in our own alcohol, didn’t get nickel and dimed for this and that).
I highly recommend Pique event center - we were so happy with the choice and got so many compliments on the impressive venue.

loved this venue! It’s well located in Excelsior (super close to Lake Minnetonka and all the restaurants and shops, plus there was plenty of parking)! The space is perfect and fit the unique/modern rustic look we were interested in. Dana, the event coordinator is super quick with communication and answered any questions we had. She recommended all the vendors we ended up using and we were incredibly pleased with them all.
