We had the pleasure of having Pisces Rising be our caterer for our big day. From the start, working with them was amazing. Mary, provided such amazing customer service, and made us feel so special. From the tasting, to my million questions, to wedding day- we felt very taken care of. The food was tasty, and our guests enjoyed the meal. Mary was also so quick to make sure we had cocktail apps brought to us so we could enjoy too and that went such a long way for us. We would 100% recommend Pisces Rising to cater your event. Thank you so much Mary and Team!

TLDR; If you can book Pisces Rising, don't even waste your time interviewing other caterers, JUST BOOK THEM!! You'll be so happy you did. Where do we even begin! Mary Catherine and Jordan were, from the very beginning of our planning process, absolutely instrumental in making our wedding a success. We've told them at every visit--every time we spoke with them, it felt like a huge weight was lifted off our shoulders. They not only answered our every question, they also proactively worked to make sure no details were forgotten. They made us feel like a priority every time we were talking. Their expertise and knowledge were so evident, and the care they both poured into our event made us feel so supported. We will be visiting annually for an anniversary dinner and we hope to see Mary Catherine and Jordan there every time--we could not have had our wedding with our them! The food itself was fabulous--if you're local to Mt. Dora, you know that Pisces Rising has a wonderful menu in their restaurant and they carry that quality over to their catering with no skips. We loved that they source ingredients locally wherever possible and that they lean into whatever is in season. The options for catering were truly endless, but Mary Catherine and Jordan helped us so much with narrowing down our long list of favorites to a menu we were excited about serving. The dinner service itself was flawless, with plated salads being served during toasts even though we offered a buffet dinner. The options for customization are also endless, and they will work with you to provide exactly the experience you are looking for. I can't recommend using Pisces Rising any more strongly. We can't wait to see y'all next year!

Jordan was AMAZING to deal with. She was in constant communication and always fast to reply. EVERYONE raved about the food, especially the skirt steak. My niece literally only eats French fries and Jordan requested that as opposed to their normal Kids Meal, and she was beyond ecstatic to have her own personal plate of fries. Beyond Perfection!

They were absolutely amazing! Mary made sure that my wedding day was perfect and that myself and husband had drinks and food the entire time! Everyone was raving about the food, service, and the bartenders the entire night!

Thanks to our venue we were able to work with Pisces Rising! From the moment we met Chris at our tasting, to our actual wedding day he was amazing from day one! He was extremely communicative and responsive, his transparency in all aspects was appreciative as well. Thank you Chris for working with us, and making our day so special!!!

Mary Catherine was simply the sweetest to work with and she made sure we were absolutely satisfied with our food and beverage choices for our wedding. Plus, her and the bartenders made sure to make our signature drinks a success that guests were drinking them all throughout the night!

First of all - delicious!! I did not expect so many people to tell me it was the best wedding food they ever had. We had a great overall experience leading up to the day as well, detailed tastings and open communication. So worth it!

Pisces Rising deserves six stars! From the moment we spoke to Mary Catherine about the possibility of having them cater our wedding- we knew we were sold. This was before we even tasted the food! The tasting they provided to at the restaurant made us feel like VIP's and was the most memorable part of our wedding planning. The day of the event I knew there was nothing to worry about. They showed up early and were ready to go for the event. All staff were friendly and happy to help our guests. In my opinion they are not charging enough for the quality of food they provide. Our guests were wowed by how tasty everything was. If you hire good people you will have no stress on your big day- enough said!

People are STILL talking about how incredible our food was at our wedding and are consistently asking me the directions to get to Pisces Rising so they can go there to have another meal by them! Not only was the food from Pisces absolutely the BEST, but Chris was so wonderful and thoughtful throughout the entire planning process. When we did our initial tasting at Pisces, Chris has the table set up with flowers and a menu, presenting it because he wanted us to truly get the full effect. Chris truly pours his heart and soul into what he does. I also will admit that I am a super type A person and also follow a strict vegan diet- Chris not only answered my BILLIONS of questions, but also reassured me that this was OUR day and the entire restaurant did everything to make sure we had everything we wanted, including modifying one of their appetizers to make it a handheld option for our cocktail hour for those of us with dietary restrictions as well as paying special attention to any allergies and making sure everyone was getting the correct meal. Chris was friendly, super responsive, organized, and just so so caring. It's wonderful to find incredible food, but when you have people talking about both how wonderful the food was but also how wonderful the people are, you know you've found the perfect place! I feel like it's very difficult to get the same taste from catering as you do in an actual restaurant, but Pisces does it!! I could not recommend anywhere more!

Pisces rising did a great job at our wedding! From the food tasting to the actual day everything was so personalized and delicious! We were able to add on coffee and a late night snack which our guests loved! We would recommend Pisces to anyone getting married in the area!

Pisces Rising provided the absolute best catering for my wedding! I initially spoke with Joshua, the General Manager, to inquire about their catering services. He was helpful, responded quickly, and set up a tasting with Chris, the Catering Manager. The tasting was INCREDIBLE. We had more tasting appointments with other catering companies but none could even compete! We were surprised it was difficult to choose a salad option because even the salads were delicious! Their crab cakes are by far my favorite I've ever had, but the raspberry brie tarts were also a big hit at the wedding. Highly recommend the Italian chicken, Asiago-herd stuffed pork loin, and smoked brisket. Chris walked us through the options, colors, plating, and accommodations for allergies/dietary restrictions. All of our questions were answered with thoughtful guidance, clearly backed by extensive experience. The food and service the day of the wedding was perfect. Everyone raved about the food all night! The set up was elegant and complimented my theme/décor. My (mainly) outdoor wedding was unfortunately rained out, but Chris and the staff went so above and beyond, helping my coordinators come up with a backup plan and implement it quickly. Chris personally held an umbrella for me and my wedding party to avoid the rain. Another testament to how truly wonderful the staff is. My husband and I love the idea that we can visit every year for our anniversary, we can't wait!

We worked with Pisces for our wedding at Club Lake. We unfortunately had to postpone our wedding from January of 2021 to February of 2022. However, nothing was lost in translation between our original and postponed date. Our details and vision were still executed exactly as we anticipated. We had the absolute pleasure of working closely with Chris. When I say that the only thing that could have been better than the food, was Chris.. I mean it! He was so outgoing, attentive, sincere and hardworking. On the day of my wedding, nerves struck me pretty hard. I wasn’t feeling my best and Chris immediately brought me water, an extra box fan to my bridal suite & a small plate of food to refresh me. I would have never expected a catering team to go so above and beyond for my needs, but Pisces did. This truly shows how much they care not only about their business but their clients! Aside from their personable nature, the food was spot on. Everyone raved about the creative chicken and waffle skewers and grilled cheese shooter apps during cocktail hour. Dinner was cooked to perfection and the buffet was operated efficiently. Chris made sure to provide Bride & Groom with food ASAP and cleared our plates as soon as we were finished so we could enjoy our speeches. He even took the time to formally say goodbye and congratulations before he departed for the evening. We would hire Pisces 1000x over and are so thankful for their involvement in our day!

Pisces Rising fulfilled all of our wedding food expectations. So many of our guests told us it was the best food they've had at a wedding ever. For our hors d'oeuvres we went with the meatball puff pastry, cuban spring rolls and my personal favorite, chicken & waffles with hot sauce and syrup. Our entrees were the shrimp linguine & parmesan-panko piccata chicken which was the fan favorite, not one crumb was left behind! For our sides we did duchess potatoes, asparagus and cheesy broccoli casserole which were all *chefs kiss* Pisces Rising provided all of the table linen, silverware, chargers, cups, warm plates and even bartenders. We had nothing to worry about! Josh & Chris were wonderful to work with. I highly recommend doing a tasting with them for your big day/event. They allow you to try so many options off of their catering menu, we had so much fun with this and in the end it was hard to choose because everything was so delicious. We are extremely happy with our entire experience with Pisces Rising.

We used Pices Rising to cater our wedding. We had a great experience working with Mary, Chris, and Joshua! We loved the food food it was a great value. Everyone with Pices Rising was extremely helpful and they always answered all of our questions. Everything went perfectly the day of and Mary kept everything at the wedding running smoothly. Our experience could not have been better!

From the first meeting to the wedding day, Pisces Rising was always exceeding my expectations! They were able to get us a last minute tasting during their busy season when my parents were in town. I highly recommend asking about having your day of coordinator through their company as well. Mary was assigned to us 2 weeks prior and was in communication with thr rest of our vendors for the rest of the time. If there was any type of behind the scenes issue, we NEVER found out. Mary and the whole catering team were professional, created the atmosphere we were looking for, and served INCREDIBLE food! We can't imagine having anyone else cater our wedding!

I can’t say enough about how delicious our dinner was for our wedding reception. It was hard to choose when we went for our tasting. Because everything was so delicious !! Then to put them over the top was Chris and is team that came to the event and took such care of us and were so personable and had amazing personalities. Our guest loved Chris so much and raved about the food!!!

If you're getting married or having an event in Central Florida it would be in your best interest to hire Pisces Rising to cater it! They catered both our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding Reception and everything was AMAZING! Chris, the event coordinator, was the best to work with and was in total control on both event nights; we literally had nothing to worry about when it came to the catering operation! We had several guests asking about the man in black because they were so impressed with how he was running his operation and how friendly he was with the guests! There were so many delicious options to choose from on the catering menu that narrowing it down was a challenge but in the end our selections turned out perfectly and suited everyones pallet! We can't wait to go back to the restaurant, knowing we will get the same kind of service and experience as we had at the wedding! To those still searching for the perfect catering vendor stop what you're doing and call Pisces Rising right now!

We had a fantastic experience with Pisces. From the tasting to the wedding it was all wonderful. We tried 4 different catering companies and went with Pisces. At each place we tried their carrots, Pisces were the only ones that were not over cooked and coated in sugar. During the tasting they took lots of notes to be sure they got everything right. The empanadas are some of the best I have ever had, and the brisket was perfect. During the tasting they took lots of notes to be sure they got everything right. We went with plated service for the wedding and plates were delivered quickly and hot, and they set up a special table for my fiance and I to enjoy dinner alone. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish they had more options for serveware. The only plates available are plain white and only silver flatware. My husband and I ended up renting gold flatware from another company and purchased our own clear glass plates. They had a wide array of table linen options, I just wish it had extended to serveware. Even with that one note, I am still so happy that we chose Pisces and I would recommend them to friends!

Pisces Rising was amazing to work with from start to finish. They were patient with us with the millions of questions we had, and were flexible when we had to make last minute changes. They made us feel comfortable with the procedures they had in place due to COVID. They went above and beyond with everything and we couldn't be happier we decided to go with them for our wedding. We had an issue on the day of the wedding where our alcohol vendor didn't deliver any of the red wine we had ordered, which we didn't find out until the middle of cocktail hour, so the catering manager drove back to the restaurant and brought their own red wine from the restaurant. Even though this mixup was through no fault of theirs, they went the extra mile to help us have the most perfect wedding day. Aside from the amazing service, the food is delicious! After the tasting we had such a hard time choosing which foods we wanted because they were all so good! The guests all complimented the food as well, and someone even said that it was the best filet mignon they had ever had! The prices were very reasonable too. If we had to do it again we would choose Pisces Rising again in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend Pisces Rising! Joshua was a pleasure to work with. He was always quick to respond and very accommodating! The day of the wedding went perfectly, and the food was honestly so good :) the catering team was incredibly efficient and friendly. I am so glad we chose Pisces Rising to cater our wedding.

We had the BEST time working with Joshua from Pisces Rising! Pisces Rising catered both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding. As a 2020 couple, we had many changes throughout the process including a date change, rehearsal dinner location change, and a massive decrease in the guest list. Joshua was responsive, accommodating, and friendly through the entire process. We had two different tastings at Pisces Rising and both times were memorable and fun occasions. The food at the rehearsal dinner and the wedding was delicious and exactly what we wanted. The service was impeccable! I didn't have to worry about a thing. Pisces Rising will always be a special restaurant for my husband and I. We can't wait to go again for dinner to relive the wedding night food! I highly recommend booking Pisces Rising to cater any special event!

This review is long overdue. We could not have asked for a better experience when we chose Pisces Rising as our caterer. Everything from the initial phone call, to our menu tastings, to the wedding was nothing short of amazing. My husband and I had the best time working with Joshua and his staff. My husband and I loved having Pisces Rising cater our wedding. We both consider ourselves foodies- and my husband is very particular about the quality of food he eats. The food here is high quality, high caliber, and affordable! All of our guests were SO happy with their dinners. Many of them said they got such large portions that they couldn't even finish all of it! The catering manager, Josh, was very easy to work with. He responded to emails or phone calls very quickly and had answers to all of my questions. We were so happy after our first tastings that we decided to have our rehearsal luncheon at Pisces, too. We also decided to hire Gregg, who is normally the wedding catering manager, to be our day of coordinator instead. One of the best decisions we made about our wedding day was hiring Gregg. He knew our venue like the back of his hand and made sure everything went off without a hitch. He made himself available for our rehearsal the day before. During our reception he personally made sure both my husband and I ate, had dessert saved for us, and always had fresh drinks in our hands.

Pisces Rising catered our recent wedding and the food and service were PHENOMENAL! We tried several catering options and they were by far above everyone else. We worked with Joshua and Gregg during our process and they were an absolute dream to work with! They worked closely with us to develop the perfect menu. All of our options were delicious we had a hard time picking. On the day of the wedding, they did not disappoint! They went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect and the food was wonderful. Our guest are still raving about the amazing food from Pisces Rising! You won’t go wrong hiring the Pisces Rising team for your wedding day!

My daughter got married a couple weeks ago and we used Pisces Rising as our caterers. I simply can’t say enough good things about them! From day one, Joshua Jungferman and his staff were phenomenal. Any and all questions were answered in a timely manner through email or by phone. They were always accessible! On the day of the wedding, everything from the appetizers, to the entree was spectacular. Our guests could not stop raving about how delicious the food was. There was never any wait at the bar, either. The servers were quick and very courteous! I have to say, Pisces Rising was a joy to work with. I highly recommend them!

When we started this journey I didn't know anything about how to plan an event like this (luckily my bride did!), but I did know that the food was one of my top priorities. So I was understandably disappointed when I found out that the catering was constrained to shortlist based on our venue. This is one of those times where you try to be upset but you can't ignore the fact that the thing upsetting you just helped you far more than you could have ever done on your own... What I mean is, I don't think we'd have considered Pisces Rising prior to reading the list of approved vendors. And so we looked it up, decided to go do a little recon. And if you haven't had a meal there, stop reading and make a reservation (seriously, it's amazing). But this review is for the catering service. So we had a pretty good idea Pisces was going to be our caterer before even the first tasting. What was amazing though, they really seemed to have fun with this! They didn't bring out generic food, they asked for ideas and custom made some fun dishes to give us a real variety. And the gnocchi they made us, I still get comments (2 months later) about it! And while I enjoyed the food, I know the guests enjoyed the food, what cannot be understated is how wonderful the service was. Joshua was an absolute pleasure to work with. Their catering manager was there on the day of, and I'd find him always around making sure everything is going smoothly. He was even the first to notice and check on me when I needed to step away for a minute :) (it's a long day, you'll understand soon!)

Our wedding was last night and we still cannot get over how delicious the food was. In fact, our guests couldn't stop raving about the food and that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. Joshua was phenomenal to work with from beginning to end. The staff that was at our wedding was also phenomenal and took care of everything my now husband and I needed as well as all of our guests. The upscale southern food was life-- I absolutely recommend their shrimps and grits (YUM!!!). Pisces Rising is one of a few preferred caterer for our venue (Tavares Pavilion on the Lake) and was by far the most affordable as well as the most delicious. After our initial tasting we knew that we were going to have some of the best food. Thank you so much to Joshua and the whole Pisces Rising team. We will forever recommend you and talk about how great your food is!!

Best wedding food I’ve ever had! Joshua was excellent at keeping in touch with us and at tailoring a menu that was perfect for our budget. He even offered to create plates that weren’t even listed as menu options. I would pick Pisces Rising a million times over.

We booked Pisces for our wedding April 10th. The food was amazing! We had leftovers and enjoyed them for days after. Everyone complimented our food all night. The staff was so amazing with everything and so nice. Josh the manager was so patient and so helpful, he literally emailed me back even if I emailed him like crazy. We met with him a few times as well. He answers your questions before you have them to ask. He was a huge help and I never had to worry about food or drinks at all. Highly recommend

Joshua at Pisces Rising was great to work with. He was always communicating with us regarding catering our wedding. We asked Pisces Rising to do a more southern menu and Joshua was happy to accommodate exactly what we envisioned. Day of went as smoothly as expected. Our guests were very pleased with the Mac N'Cheese and Chicken with southern style white gravy. At the end of the reception they wrapped up our left overs for us to take home. Staff was polite and attentive. I highly recommend using them for catering, especially for an event at the Pavilion on the Lake.

First off I have to say, I love Pisces food at their restaurant. All along their communication was fantastic, and night of their service was great. The quality of food the night of the wedding was pretty terrible. I'm hoping that is was just a vendor quality issue. I did contact the manager of Pisces the following week to talk to him about the quality issue of the main dishes that were served. He is really an amazing manager, very apologetic and respectful. We received a giftcard to Pisces for the quality issue. We really would have appreciated some of our money back for the lack of edible food, but we are really appreciative for what we received. We will definitely be back to the restaurant but probably wouldn't have them cater an event again.
