Courtney and Pete are absolutely incredible - I simply cannot say enough good things about them as photographers and as people. We did our engagement shoot with them, and also had ...
the distinct privilege of having them photograph our wedding. They are wildly talented, incredibly kind, very responsive, and immeasurably fun to be around. We hope to work with them again in the future for family photo sessions!
Incredible talent and incredible people!
Photography was one of the absolute most important considerations in our wedding planning, and my husband and I began our search for the...
perfect wedding photographer just days after we selected our venue - months before we even thought about other vendors. We searched through literally scores of portfolios, but when we came across Pete and Courtney's website, we knew immediately that this duo was in a league of their own. Their style seemed so rich with color and brimming with candid, real moments between people who loved each other. Despite over a 250 mile distance between Pete and Courtney's upstate New York basecamp and our wedding venue on Cape Cod, we went out on a limb and asked them to consider joining us as our photographers.
What ensued over the next 16 months of wedding preparation was the kindest, most thoughtful and most professional treatment we received from any vendors during our wedding planning (we had over 15 vendors!). Pete and Courtney's care for us throughout the preparation and the wedding itself felt like friendship. They got to know us, congratulated us, sent us gifts, calmed our nerves on the big day.
This process of care resulted in photographs that truly reflected us as a couple and surpassed all of our expectations. Our photographs are simply beautiful. Over the last four months since our wedding, my husband and I have looked and looked and relooked at every single image Pete and Courtney shot and curated for us tens of thousands of times. There is an incredible range represented in what they've given us - from the deeply colorful formal portraits to whimsical environmental shots that encapsulate what it really felt like to be there on our wedding day. There is no artificial gloss or veneer to these images - they are beautifully honest, attentive and joyful.
It is clear from their photography that Pete and Courtney share a deep sensitivity and that they were feeling their way through not only photographing our wedding but curating our images to the final collection. We feel truly blessed that we discovered Pete and Courtney and that they agreed to travel to share our wedding day with us. We could not recommend them more highly!
You know a wedding photographer is amazing when your GUESTS comment on how awesome they were! Courtney and Pete charmed us in the first 5 minutes of our engagement session, making...
us feel relaxed enough to do some pretty lovey poses and I LOVE the resulting photos (they were able to capture how happy we were by making us so completely relaxed). They were so much fun to have along with us on our actual wedding day that I was sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the night!
Their aesthetic is the perfect combination of modern, hipster cool while still keeping true to the fundamentals of photography (good light, good composition, etc).
Book them now and you won't regret it!!
Courtney and Pete photographed our elopement back in May. We took photos outside the courthouse at 8:30 am and then went for a hike to take photos in the woods (my husband and I a...
re both foresters). We had a wonderful time climbing a mountain around Lake George in our wedding attire and they were able to capture some very candid and intimate moments for us. They were very accommodating and fun to work with. Pete was also able capture the earthy and natural feeling we wanted and they did not over edit the photos. We highly recommend them both!
Courtney and Pete are two incredibly gifted artists. Their photographs are magnificent and reflect not only their refined skill and technique, but also their passion for the work....
They were dedicated to ensuring that our wedding photos would reflect our unique style and vision, and were able to capture intimate details that tell our story as we want it remembered. My husband and I have spent hours reliving that day through these photos, and we remain in awe of how beautifully documented are wedding is. They captured exquisite shots of our venue, precious moments of our family and friends, and somehow managed to make two camera-phobic adults appear elegant and natural. The feedback from our family and friends is unanimous- these pictures belong in some kind of high-art photography magazine! Three months later, we can barely view some of these shots without crying.
Our wedding was an intimate gathering of our closest family and friends, and Courtney and Pete fit in seamlessly. They were professional, kind, and fun. They understood that our priority was to spend time with our guests, and were able to manage portraits, family photos, and candids while contributing to the comfortable, friendly, and laid-back ambiance that we were hoping for.
PJN Photography is a true Adirondack treasure! Their work is exquisitely meaningful and artistic. We cannot recommend them more highly.
The BEST photographers for your Adirondack wedding!
I think every wedding photographer should be a husband & wife duo because it's exactly what you need to get through the day! Co...
urtney & Pete really balance each other out and if one person doesn't see the perfect shot, the other will! They are amazing photographers with a great vision. I loved how organized they were when it came to meeting us, walk throughs, wedding day details and capturing the day exactly as we remembered it. My husband wasn't too thrilled by the idea of an engagement shoot, but after talking to Courtney we realized its exactly what we needed. The engagement photos allowed for us to get to know Pete & Court and to see what faces and gestures we hated of ourselves on camera! I plan to use them when we start growing our family :) <3
We were so happy with our whole experience with Pete & Courtney. As two people who aren't totally comfortable in front of the camera, Pete and Courtney made us feel totally at eas...
y and relaxed during both our engagement session and our wedding photos. They gave us great direction through the photos and made sure we have a wide variety. They were always very responsive to e-mails and quickly answered any questions we had. They weren't intrusive during our wedding, capturing special moments without us even noticing. Our photos turned out beautifully. We couldn't have asked for better photographers to capture our special day.
PJN Photography was spectacular! My husband and I live in Northern California and had to plan our Lake George wedding remotely. Courtney and Pete could not have been more accommoda...
ting and thoughtful. They even worked with the 3 hour time difference to set up several Facetime sessions so they could get to know us and what we were looking for our wedding. Their customer service is on point! It's obvious they care deeply about what they do and your satisfaction. Their presence at our (very) small wedding was seamless and warm. The photos are squeal-worthy. SERIOUSLY. BEAUTIFUL. WORK. I wish we lived closer so we could hire them again and again. I love these guys!
One of the standout thoughts we had looking through our final wedding photos is that we were finally able to see what we didn't get a chance to that day. You're running around on t...
he day of your wedding, it's easy to forget that there are other really special things happening all around you. PJN captured the most beautiful moments. We found Pete and Courtney through Adirondack Wedding magazine for our August 2014 wedding in the Adirondacks. Their photos stood out immediately as being our ideal combination of a fresh take on portraits and candid captured moments. They work seamlessly as a husband and wife photographer team and were so accommodating to our destination wedding needs- having Skype sessions with us and traveling for engagement photos. From helping manage our day timeline and making sure we took advantage of all photo ops, and being a joy to be around- they made our day so easy and captured it beautifully. We absolutely love our photos.
PJN was a joy to work with and really fulfilled everything we were looking for in a photographer. From start to finish they were organized, accommodating, professional and of cours...
e, very very talented. Courtney and Pete know their stuff and you can tell that they truly love what they do. Photography was probably the element of the wedding we cared most about and they really nailed it. Their style matched perfectly with what we were looking for- if you love the more non-traditional, natural looking photography this is definitely for you. Also, if you are not comfortable in front of the camera they will instantly put you at ease as they did with us during our engagement shoot. They got every shot we asked for on the day and then some, but those little moments that were captured throughout are the photos that we will treasure forever. Capturing the happy should be their slogan! An excellent value for the caliber of work you get and honestly worth every penny. Looking forward to hiring them again for whatever happy occasions we have in the future. Just beautiful work and wonderful people- what more could you ask for?
I highly recommend Courtney and Pete of PJN Photography, especially if you are having a wedding in the Adirondacks or any type of "rustic" surroundings. Our wedding at our family ...
cabin was in a more remote part of the eastern Adirondacks with a difficult terrain to navigate. Not for Pete and Courtney - they traveled from across the state, and made everything seem like a breeze! They are fun, patient, professional and take absolutely beautiful shots. I really appreciated the first check-in call we had (actually, FaceTime) to get to know us as a couple and what we wanted out of our wedding. And they nailed it! They are discreet when they need to be, and vocal and organized when they need to be (e.g., chaos of family photos, etc). They also know the exact right moment to capture things like the setting sun, etc. and come and steal you away for a few quick pictures. Our pictures are so tasteful and modern, but still capture the beautiful colors and details that made our location special. I also loved the delivery of the final products -- personalized notes, a handy flash drive, all wrapped up in a gorgeous box. In fact, one of my family members at the wedding ended up using them for her wedding in the Albany area 7 months later, with similar beautiful results!
Courtney and Peter were truly remarkable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience on our wedding day. They were organized, professional, thoughtful and worked incredibly well...
as a team.
They went above and beyond and had very creative ideas - we took photographs in a beautiful stand of trees in the woods and in an abandoned cabin. They truly went out of their way to make our experience special!
My husband and I were thrilled with the end results and are so happy to have our beautiful day so well documented. Thanks again to a wonderful pair.
Courtney and Pete were a perfect team to cover our wedding. We first used them in our engagement shoot, which turned out beautifully, capturing sweet moments as well as humorous on...
es, documenting our home and city too. For our wedding, they captured beautifully all the thought out details (brides - you know what I mean, all the details you fretted over to make the overall effect your dream), moments between me and Jason, U.S. with our family, that afterwards, I am so grateful they captured because it's the entire day that unfolds that creates the embodied memory. PJN was there and I am so grateful to them for lovingly representing our day and working so hard for us. Their service begins at consultation and does not end until you happily gaze at your memories in hand
Pete and Courtney photographed our wedding in June. Months later, I still spend hours looking at our photos and find a new favorite every time! They are personable, friendly and ta...
ke beautiful pictures. While I think their photos speak for themselves I want to express how fun and easy going they are as professionals. They made us feel very comfortable and I would recommend them for any photo shoot!
Pete and Courtney were phenomenal! During wedding planning, they were very prompt with their responses to any question and very flexible as to when they could meet to plan. They di...
d a phenomenal job on out engagement photos and had a gallery of pictures to us within a week. Our wedding blog and announcement were posted within a week of our wedding, and they had the pictures to us in a gallery and on a flash drive within two months. All photos are on a flash drive and you have consent to do as you please with them. (Engagement photos too!) You also receive prints of all wedding photos. They were even willing to work with us and customize a package so that we had the number of hours we were looking for and the number of albums necessary to satisfy all. Everyone the day of the wedding had great things to say about Pete and Courtney and how friendly they were to work with. Could not have asked for anything better!
My husband Ron and I would highly recommend Peter and Courtney to anyone looking to have a comfortable and professional photography experience! When we got engaged two years ago I ...
knew I wanted a photographer that was not overpriced and who had the experience to not make our photos look awkward and "posed". I found Peter and Courtney on a Saratoga website and after meeting with them for the first time it was an easy decision to choose them to photograph our engagement and our wedding. Peter and Courtney are the nicest down to earth people which made it easy to feel comfortable with perfect strangers photographing us for the first time. During the wedding Pete and Courtney knew all the "tricks" to getting a perfect shot including the details of making sure I was photographed on the right side so that the flower in my hair was showing to taking the time to help my grandmother tie her bow on her dress. When we got our wedding photos just a few weeks after the wedding my family and I looked at them over and over again and tears were brought to our eyes at the special moments they caught (my favorite being my Dad giving me away at the end of the aisle). These are the once in a lifetime memories I hoped to get and we couldn't be happier. Thanks Pete and Courtney!!
PJN Photography perfectly captured our special day and we couldn't be happier with our photos! Peter and Courtney are incredibly talented and professional. Here are a few highlight...
s:
1) Captured all the moments on my list and gave me so many artistic photos that I never would've thought to ask for. They photographed things on my wedding day that I didn't even get to see in person!
2) They pay attention to detail so that you don't have to (Let's be honest - we all have that one groomsman who thinks that putting his sunglasses on the back of his head means that they won't be seen in your formal photos. Thankfully, PJN notices that stuff.)
3) If you're someone who typically doesn't feel comfortable in front of the camera, they will make you shine! Somehow, they figure out how to make you feel so comfortable and capture amazing moments.
4) Photo booth, photo booth, photo booth! We recommend the photo booth to everyone we know who is getting married. PJN has amazing backdrops and you'll be shocked at which of your wedding guest play up to the camera.
All in all, we could not have had a better experience with PJN Photography. I would highly recommend them!
My fiancé (now husband) was in charge of getting our photographer and he did a GREAT job picking PJN. They were super laid back and very attentive to our requests (lots of candids...
, pics of certain people, etc). It was so nice having both Peter and Courtney there. They caught different details and worked really well together. They were everywhere that a good photographer should be without being overwhelming or overbearing during special moments. Peter was pretty great even in the ladies dressing room when I asked him to take a picture of my garter (it was made for my grandmother by my great grandmother). I was a bit nervous about only getting 200 pictures, but every shot was awesome and they got a perfect spread of everything that happened on our special day. We got our pictures back really quickly and we got lots of compliments from friends and family.
