perfect wedding photographer just days after we selected our venue - months before we even thought about other vendors. We searched through literally scores of portfolios, but when we came across Pete and Courtney's website, we knew immediately that this duo was in a league of their own. Their style seemed so rich with color and brimming with candid, real moments between people who loved each other. Despite over a 250 mile distance between Pete and Courtney's upstate New York basecamp and our wedding venue on Cape Cod, we went out on a limb and asked them to consider joining us as our photographers.
What ensued over the next 16 months of wedding preparation was the kindest, most thoughtful and most professional treatment we received from any vendors during our wedding planning (we had over 15 vendors!). Pete and Courtney's care for us throughout the preparation and the wedding itself felt like friendship. They got to know us, congratulated us, sent us gifts, calmed our nerves on the big day.
This process of care resulted in photographs that truly reflected us as a couple and surpassed all of our expectations. Our photographs are simply beautiful. Over the last four months since our wedding, my husband and I have looked and looked and relooked at every single image Pete and Courtney shot and curated for us tens of thousands of times. There is an incredible range represented in what they've given us - from the deeply colorful formal portraits to whimsical environmental shots that encapsulate what it really felt like to be there on our wedding day. There is no artificial gloss or veneer to these images - they are beautifully honest, attentive and joyful.
It is clear from their photography that Pete and Courtney share a deep sensitivity and that they were feeling their way through not only photographing our wedding but curating our images to the final collection. We feel truly blessed that we discovered Pete and Courtney and that they agreed to travel to share our wedding day with us. We could not recommend them more highly!

us feel relaxed enough to do some pretty lovey poses and I LOVE the resulting photos (they were able to capture how happy we were by making us so completely relaxed). They were so much fun to have along with us on our actual wedding day that I was sad to say goodbye to them at the end of the night!

We found Pete and Courtney through Adirondack Wedding magazine for our August 2014 wedding in the Adirondacks. Their photos stood out immediately as being our ideal combination of a fresh take on portraits and candid captured moments. They work seamlessly as a husband and wife photographer team and were so accommodating to our destination wedding needs- having Skype sessions with us and traveling for engagement photos. From helping manage our day timeline and making sure we took advantage of all photo ops, and being a joy to be around- they made our day so easy and captured it beautifully. Photography was probably the element of the wedding we cared most about and they really nailed it. Their style matched perfectly with what we were looking for- if you love the more non-traditional, natural looking photography this is definitely for you. Also, if you are not comfortable in front of the camera they will instantly put you at ease as they did with us during our engagement shoot. They got every shot we asked for on the day and then some, but those little moments that were captured throughout are the photos that we will treasure forever. cabin was in a more remote part of the eastern Adirondacks with a difficult terrain to navigate. Not for Pete and Courtney - they traveled from across the state, and made everything seem like a breeze! They are fun, patient, professional and take absolutely beautiful shots. I really appreciated the first check-in call we had (actually, FaceTime) to get to know us as a couple and what we wanted out of our wedding. And they nailed it! They are discreet when they need to be, and vocal and organized when they need to be (e.g., chaos of family photos, etc). They also know the exact right moment to capture things like the setting sun, etc. and come and steal you away for a few quick pictures. Our pictures are so tasteful and modern, but still capture the beautiful colors and details that made our location special. I also loved the delivery of the final products -- personalized notes, a handy flash drive, all wrapped up in a gorgeous box. In fact, one of my family members at the wedding ended up using them for her wedding in the Albany area 7 months later, with similar beautiful results!

Our wedding blog and announcement were posted within a week of our wedding, and they had the pictures to us in a gallery and on a flash drive within two months. All photos are on a flash drive and you have consent to do as you please with them. (Engagement photos too!) You also receive prints of all wedding photos. They were even willing to work with us and customize a package so that we had the number of hours we were looking for and the number of albums necessary to satisfy all. Everyone the day of the wedding had great things to say about Pete and Courtney and how friendly they were to work with. Could not have asked for anything better!

knew I wanted a photographer that was not overpriced and who had the experience to not make our photos look awkward and "posed". I found Peter and Courtney on a Saratoga website and after meeting with them for the first time it was an easy decision to choose them to photograph our engagement and our wedding. Peter and Courtney are the nicest down to earth people which made it easy to feel comfortable with perfect strangers photographing us for the first time. During the wedding Pete and Courtney knew all the "tricks" to getting a perfect shot including the details of making sure I was photographed on the right side so that the flower in my hair was showing to taking the time to help my grandmother tie her bow on her dress. When we got our wedding photos just a few weeks after the wedding my family and I looked at them over and over again and tears were brought to our eyes at the special moments they caught (my favorite being my Dad giving me away at the end of the aisle). These are the once in a lifetime memories I hoped to get and we couldn't be happier. Thanks Pete and Courtney!!

1) Captured all the moments on my list and gave me so many artistic photos that I never would've thought to ask for. They photographed things on my wedding day that I didn't even get to see in person!
2) They pay attention to detail so that you don't have to (Let's be honest - we all have that one groomsman who thinks that putting his sunglasses on the back of his head means that they won't be seen in your formal photos. Thankfully, PJN notices that stuff.)
3) If you're someone who typically doesn't feel comfortable in front of the camera, they will make you shine! Somehow, they figure out how to make you feel so comfortable and capture amazing moments.
4) Photo booth, photo booth, photo booth! We recommend the photo booth to everyone we know who is getting married. PJN has amazing backdrops and you'll be shocked at which of your wedding guest play up to the camera.
All in all, we could not have had a better experience with PJN Photography. I would highly recommend them!
My fiancé (now husband) was in charge of getting our photographer and he did a GREAT job picking PJN. They were super laid back and very attentive to our requests (lots of candids...
, pics of certain people, etc). It was so nice having both Peter and Courtney there. They caught different details and worked really well together. They were everywhere that a good photographer should be without being overwhelming or overbearing during special moments. Peter was pretty great even in the ladies dressing room when I asked him to take a picture of my garter (it was made for my grandmother by my great grandmother). I was a bit nervous about only getting 200 pictures, but every shot was awesome and they got a perfect spread of everything that happened on our special day. We got our pictures back really quickly and we got lots of compliments from friends and family.
