Lol For those of you who like to do a bit more in-depth reading… So turns out, planning a wedding these days can be challenging to say the least. To make matters more complicated for us, we aren’t local to the area (multiple states away). Planning a wedding is so much more than just going through a bunch of checklists and wrangling vendors and contracts, I’m fairly confident we would not have been able to pull it off without the amazing services Elexis provided. She coordinated, kept track of vendors, provided recommendations, kept us on schedule, and so much more. We were able to enjoy our wedding weekend without stressing out and with absolutely nothing going wrong. Elexis worked so hard to make it an unforgettable experience. t the best decision on our part as they not only provided no planning after we signed the contract, but the position was left empty for a couple months and then we went through 3 points of contact before deciding that we needed major help to pull our wedding together in 4 months. One of our vendors suggested Placid Planner, a local destination wedding planner located right in lake placid. After a few emails and a phone call with Elexis to discuss a plan of attack, so we could stop stressing and a brief session to evaluate our contracted vendors - many needed some level of updating for proper coverage, we knew putting Elexis at the helm of our wedding planning was the only way path forward. Our wedding weekend went perfectly and find myself sitting back wondering what if we didn’t hire a wedding planner during the most crucial and final months.

Hiring Elexis was like hiring a venue coordinator AND wedding planner as the services very much filled the void of our venue not providing us a venue coordinator and that of a traditional destination wedding planner. Elexis knew answers to all necessary venue questions and when she didn't know the answer she was able to either contact someone at the property or go directly to the property to obtain answers - like measurements and more venue images for us. More than once Elexis went to the venue to source answers that our venue didn't respond to us on for months. Venues are VERY hands off in Lake Placid. I can't image how different this experience would have been if we hired an out of town wedding planner. Lake Placid is remote and venue staff there has serious turnover, so I recommend you secure someone local like Placid Planner prior to contracting your venue. Elexis reviews contracts prior to signing to ensure each contact looks accurate and that the client is always taken care. We contracted Full Planning services and paid a predetermined % of our total wedding spend, but Placid Planner also offers Partial Planning services for a flat fee. In addition to full planning services for our entire 4-day wedding weekend, we also had added a content creator, ADK Aquatics watersports sessions (also Elexis & Wes's company) and drone footage. Invest in the best wedding foreman the Adirondacks has to offer and you won't be disappointed.

She was present at the venue for all of our events, and from the day we arrived until the day after to break down so I never felt like we were on our own. Having her the day of the wedding was crucial, making sure everything went smoothly and on time, and quickly handling any requests we had. Most of the vendors she recommended were great to work with, especially the florist who knocked it out of the park. And when I had issues with the local cake bakers, she didn't pressure me to use them and understood my frustrations, and we figured out a different solution. Planning a wedding in a rural area is a certain kind of challenge and Elexis definitely has the experience and knowledge to make sure it goes smoothly. Her monthly email checklists were a big help in making sure we were always AHEAD of schedule (my preference!) Thank you Elexis!

booked Elexis in 2019 when I was worried about planning my wedding while in law school and not having the time for everything. She helped me through all of the initial vendor bookings, schedules, contracts, emails, timelines, EVERYTHING! Then COVID hit and we had to postpone our Sept 2020 wedding to 2021, Elexis helped us contact all vendors and get new contracts and a new date! Fast forward to 2021 when we postponed another year due to international family that were still in lockdown and unable to travel. Again, Elexis helped us find a new date that worked for all vendors and moved contracts and schedules and timelines and on and on! Finally in 2022 the wedding was happening and Elexis 100% made it happen. Even though we were definitely fatigued after so many disappointed postponements, Elexis got us excited and back on track with the planning timelines. She made sure we were always on time with save the dates and invites. There were so many times when I would read an update email from Elexis and reply with "omg thank you for catching that, I didn't realize xyz". If she wasn't on our team helping us throughout the 3+ years, I can absolutely say we would have just canceled due to stress of the postponements. That is just the planning side of things!!! The day of our rehearsal and on our wedding day, Elexis was an absolute ANGEL! She walked us through everything before rehearsal, took all of my inventory like photos and favors, and ran the entire rehearsal which included directing my rowdy family and friends. On the wedding day, I was blissfully calm knowing Elexis was there handling everything! I had a second dress that I forgot to bring to the main venue and it was hanging in the readying suite across the property. Elexis ran and grabbed it right when I needed it, only to run back again because I forgot to ask for my shoes to go with it. The venue was supposed to have a smores station but there was a mix up and they did not provide the marshmallows, graham crackers or anything, just had the fire set up. So Elexis had her team run to Walmart on the day of the wedding to get everything and didn't even bother me with the drama, just let me know when it was done!!! There are so many more examples of how she saved the day and more but all I can say is THANK YOU!!!! If you are on the fence at all about getting a planner, please do and book Elexis! She will give you all the attention you need and make everything perfect! THANK YOU ELEXIS!!!!!!

We have a very hectic personal and professional travel schedule, and live at a great distance from the venue, so we were in need of guidance to help manage a process we knew very little about. Elexis is incredibly organized, introduced us to amazing vendors (check out Black Swan Floral Design!) and helped us produce an event that was elegant, memorable and perfect for our small, but mighty, 50-person crew. And by event, I mean a 4-day weekend that entailed a family dinner, welcome dinner, main event (and after party!) and brunch. Every detail was flawless, including sourcing and managing many items that were rented from other vendors. She knows the venue like the back of her hand and was able to truly maximize the space, allowing us to utilize both indoor and outdoor locations with ease. I may be a little biased, but it was truly the best wedding I have ever attended - and our guests agreed. So much so that they are requesting a reunion event next year. I will miss my daily interactions with Elexis - her calmness, humor, kindness and creativity. But, I am happy to say that I look forward to continuing our friendship long after my husband and I said "I do."

From the bride's point of view: I would personally recommend deferring to Elexis' recommendations when it comes to a decision about logistics, timing, coordination, etc. She really did know best at each decision. ake Placid 1x during our 15 months of wedding planning, but that was never an issue because we had our local planner within minutes of our venue to assist in our absence. From very specific venue image requests to actual Facetime videos from our venues and a "menu tasting", having a local dedicated to our wedding was priceless. We didn't know this at the time of booking, but our venue turned out to be pretty hands-off, often times non-existent during planning, slow to respond to emails and the contact changed multiple time. Had we not hired Elexis to handle her role and essentially all of the services we expected our venue to provide, we are certain our wedding day would not have been everything it was. We worked with Elexis and our venue to select a date that worked for all three of us. After this Elexis assisted us with selecting all of our vendors and initial rental items. She also kept us on track with a wedding excel, monthly schedule of items to complete and a very detailed wedding weekend timeline. On the wedding day, Elexis and her partner Wes arrived first and departed well past our own departure. Our wedding day items were returned to us in the manner they were provided, so loading up the cars to leave was much easier. If you are reading this and you are having a destination wedding in Lake Placid, I encourage you to make room in the budget for Placid Planner. It will save you money and so many stresses in the end.

re one of her many couples that had to postpone from 2020 to 2021 due to the pandemic, and all we can say is that we couldn't have done it all without Elexis. Our venue completely shut down and let their entire staff go in the spring of 2020, so having Elexis by our side the entire time was absolutely priceless. Her high level of care for our wedding being as perfect as possible and just how we dreamed of was clear from the day we had our first call and that feeling never went away. If anything, it's even stronger now that we can look back on all her dedication and hard work. Sadely, and be wary, but our venue didn't care about us and we were passed from one venue contact to another over an almost 24 month period. Some had zero wedding or event experience at all. We contacted the GM and continually begged for the venue to pay more attention to us, but nothing changed and we relied heavily on Elexis instead. Our venue wedding contact at the time of the wedding did NOT even show up on our wedding day and she didn't inform us of this until 2 days prior. We never met her, just an older man who said he was in charge now. Then we never really saw him again either. Elexis went above and beyond when we arrived and played as much of a venue role as possible without actually serving the food. We did see her clearing and watering our sweetheart table and I am certain she cleared our salad plates as the venue staff were 100% non-existent on the wedding day. Very understaffed with very slow service. She did far more work than we hired her for, but never made us feel like we owed her more. Elexis filled the major void that our venue did not care to fill from the absolute day 1. Not sure how any couple can plan a wedding of any size in Lake Placid without hiring a knowledgeable local planner. The investment in Elexis actually saved us so much stress and money in the end and it made our wedding day and the planning leading up as perfect as possible. Beware of venues that suggest that you do not need a wedding planner. You 100% need someone solely working for you that only has your best interest in mind, if you want to have as stress free of a mountain wedding as possible.

Just one anecdote left: moments before we were to walk down the aisle, Elexis noticed the smallest of fingerprint smudges on the glass door behind the alter. She had the music held and sent someone down there to wipe the smudge. When I Say detail oriented I mean it. We loved working with Elexis. We cannot recommend working with her enough. You'd be lucky to get her!
