We couldn’t be happier to have worked with Doriana & the Plan It MV team. We had a perfect wedding weekend & everything exceeded our expectations. From helping to communicate and c...
oordinate across several vendors (including some new to MV) - it all went off without a hitch from our perspective. We appreciate the active communication and responsiveness over the ~2 years of planning together. Thank you so much!
We hired PlanIt for partial planning and coordination for our September 26 wedding on Martha’s Vineyard. Despite a promising initial consultation, our experience left us feeling un...
supported and deeply disappointed.
After paying our deposit, we were assigned to Doriana, whom we had not previously met. My requests for regular planning calls were redirected to email. We understood the scope of our partial planning package, but had clearly communicated that we wanted engaged guidance throughout the process.
My husband and I had to initiate our final planning meeting. I had provided a comprehensive document weeks beforehand outlining our wedding details, yet Doriana asked basic questions already covered in it. This gave us little confidence that she had thoroughly reviewed the information we supplied.
The biggest disappointment came when a nor’easter forced significant changes during our wedding week. We did not expect anyone to control the weather. We did expect our planner to help us navigate it with practical solutions and clear leadership. Instead, we felt responsible for developing alternatives ourselves, while conversations focused heavily on obstacles and costs. Hearing “I guess we’ll get through it” from our planner during an already stressful week was incredibly discouraging.
Communication became so upsetting that my mother took over, followed by my aunt. The rehearsal also lacked clear direction, leaving members of our bridal party confused about ceremony cues and what they were supposed to do. Ultimately, we relied heavily on our family and the venue coordinators to lead the execution of the day.
Our wedding was beautiful and meaningful, but that does not erase the stress or the lack of support we experienced. We invested thousands of dollars expecting professional preparation, communication, and coordination, and did not feel those expectations were met. Based on our experience, I would not recommend PlanIt.
Please don’t use her. It was so disappointing.
Kara Leandro and the PlanItMV team are an absolute must-have when planning your wedding. I’m genuinely sad that I no longer have a need to chat with Kara on a weekly basis, now tha...
t our knot has been tied. I would email her the most random of wedding planning questions and she would respond in a professional manner, but also make you feel like you’ve been friends for years by offering candid advice. I could go on and on, but trust me when I say you do not need to look any further for an amazing event coordinator.
My daughter was "Island Grown" and she knew Martha's Vineyard is where she would be married. She would be married to the love of her life, barefoot, by the ocean she played in as ...
a child, and they would dance the night away in a tent on the edge of the scenic golf course she had worked at, as a college student. Ashley our lead planner and the staff of Plan It turned their vision into a beautiful reality. The day was perfect with Ashley and Brooke's oversight and a job well done by the talented vendors recommended by Plan It MV. Ashley's guidance through the planning process, her attention to detail, ability to listen and her presence the day of was invaluable! We along with all our guests completely enjoyed the day thanks to Ashley and the Plan It team!!

I had about small details for a full weekend of events on the island. They always responded quickly and their suggestions were all great. The people they recommended for transportation, wait staff, bartenders, etc. were all wonderful. Kate, Brooke and Cinnamon were responsive, helpful, patient and very knowledgeable about everything on the Vineyard. I would use them again in a heartbeat!

Ashley and the team were wonderful, we had the wedding of our dreams!
Our wedding was at my grandparents farm in West Tisbury last summer. Since we are both from off-island towns in Massachusetts, we thought it would be wise to hire an island-based w...
edding planner, and we are so glad that we did! Doriana and Kate were so easy to work with and were accessible every time we needed them. Most of the services, like the tent, DJ, and catering were all island based- we would have been so lost without the help of local wedding planners. I would recommend them to anyone planning to get married on Martha’s Vineyard, especially if you don’t live on the island. My family and friends all agree that every detail of the wedding was beautiful and completely unforgettable! Thanks again!

ade sure the rehearsal ran smoothly, and she was very helpful in the weeks before the wedding when we needed advice. It was so nice not to have to run around before or after the wedding to make sure things were getting done - thanks so much!

e with another popular event planner on the island was response time and rudeness. Doriana was always there to talk to. On the day of I could not have asked for a more relaxed person to be handling everything. The DIY decore and coordination of all that was planned was well executed by Plan It MV. I showed up with absolutely no complaints as the bride and had the best time ever! Thank you for making it such a wonderful experience from start to finish!

ng other vendors and coordinating the little details that are easily overlooked. Their knowledge of the island was extremely helpful. It was clear that they cared about me and my wedding, even though I knew they had other brides on my wedding day. The day of the wedding they were there throughout the event and making sure all the small details were perfect. Without a doubt they have everything you need to plan and execute a perfect wedding- rain or shine!
