Ray shot our engagement last summer and wedding photos on July 13th and we just received our photos this week & we could not be HAPPIER with them. We had permanent smiles on our faces as we flipped through the crazy amount of photos we have to choose from (it's going to be SO hard to choose for the album!). Ray captured our day PERFECTLY. From the shots he got of us getting ready with our bridal party, our ceremony & reception photos to the bridal party shots around landmarks in Detroit, he captured the happiness of the day in every photo. And not only is he an incredibly talented photographer, but he is just as kind & patient. We loved getting to know Ray and the entire team! I knew the second I found Platinum Bride Wedding's website (a nice blend of photography styles, in my opinion) this creative team was who I wanted for our wedding, and we were NOT disappointed. My wife won a half-off package from Platinum Bride through a bridal show. We met with Ray from Platinum Bride and spoke about some of the photos he took that were on his website. The meeting went well. We liked Ray and looked forward to having him be our photographer so we signed up with Platinum Bride. As the wedding day approached, Ray told us out of nowhere that he was not going to be shooting our wedding. We were stunned and confused. Ray outsourced the photography to someone else. Life was really busy at the time so we looked at the new guy's photos and decided it would work. The big day came and the photographers were great. We were really happy with them. In fact, the DJ and photo booth that Ray arranged as part of the package were really good also. The problem was the video. The videographer seemed nice and he recorded everything we would have liked. However, there was an issue with the footage when it was delivered to us. Every other frame of the video seemed to be missing. So the footage was really choppy. We called Ray and he said he would try to fix the video. He sent us a new copy of the footage. Unfortunately, the quality was exactly the same. We called Ray and he sent us a third copy but it was the same result again. I even had my brother, a video editor by trade, look at the file and footage. My brother said all three renditions were exactly the same. We called Ray a couple of times to talk about the issue but did not hear back. We finally tried an email and Ray curiously responded that email was his preferred method of communication rather than via phone (even though we primarily spoke on the phone or texted up until this point). I understand mistakes happen but it was how Ray handled the situation is what didn't sit well with us. Ray seemed intent on downplaying the quality issue. He repeatedly told us how all his other weddings that year had no video issues. It was as if he was trying to make us feel bad for not liking the video. Ray said that he couldn't fix the issue because we didn't watch the video within 90 days of delivery. He never told us that there was any time limit in which to watch the video. We were as nice and polite as possible during our email exchanges. At one point we even agreed to put the conversation on hold over the holidays because he was apparently too busy to email with us. Afterwards, Ray remained dismissive of the issue. We had several emails going back and forth and got nowhere. Ultimately, we asked for a partial refund. He quickly dismissed that idea. We explained our case. He disagreed. We asked what he thought was fair. He didn't respond. We asked again. No response. Weeks later, he emailed us back saying that he didn't agree to our proposed refund amount and was mailing us a different, unspecified refund amount. We never received this mystery refund and we never heard from him again. We can only assume he was stringing us along until he could book his 2019 wedding season without a review like this. In summary, we emailed Ray for six months and all we basically got was the sentiment - sorry about your luck but my other couples are happy. There are a lot of wedding service options out there. For his lack of professionalism alone, I suggest finding a different service.

Very amazing work. Had our engagement photos within a few days. Can’t wait to see what our wedding photos will look like after the 20th of July 💜 Ray has been amazing to work with and easy to talk with about certain things we’ve had requested.

Truly amazing experience! Very good at what they do! We booked this team a few weeks ago for a June 2020 wedding and did our engagement photos last weekend - we already have our photos after 5 days and we LOVED working with Ray. He got back us quickly, answering any last minute questions I had before the photo shoot, putting my mind at ease. Very professional, friendly, walking around town, even got us cold drinks half way thru our shoot, he captured lots of amazing photos. Even managed to get my 5 year old daughter to participate in pics and smile!! We can't wait to see what he and Melissa do with our wedding pictures next year! Ray did our engagement photos 2 weeks ago and will be doing our wedding photos this summer with Melissa we were not disappointed! He worked to accommodate all of our needs by going to all locations we wanted in downtown Detroit, taking specific shots we requested, always was mindful of the background and lighting, and he was excellent at giving us direction since both of us are quite awkward in front of the camera. We also got our pictures in a timely fashion (after 5 days). Our photos have turned out breathtaking! We've already had numerous compliments on them, and we were blown away by the quality of all the shots he took. I can honestly say there weren’t any shots we didn’t like! I'm confident this team will capture our wedding perfectly and we are so thankful. Not to mention we had so much fun working with Ray! Bottom line: choosing a photographer for your wedding day is a big decision. If you want peace of mind to not be disappointed with your pictures, go with Platinum Bride Weddings.

They were incredible from start to finish of our wedding planning and helped capture our day more perfect than we could have ever imagined! When we got engaged, I thought the hardest choice was going to be finding a perfect pair of photographers that could capture everything with enough care and attention. Researched a lot of photographers in the area but as soon as I met Ray and Melissa we knew we could trust them. Their style is creative and we showed them magazine images we loved and they matched those shots on the wedding day. Ray did our engagement pictures and the complete day of our wedding -- from getting ready to the dancing at the reception. Ray and Melissa were a joy to be around , and made every shot feel so natural and fun. To say we were pleased with how our photos turned out would be an understatement - they were absolutely perfect! I cannot even count how many compliments we have received on the pictures. We could not recommend them more!

Ray & Melissa photographed our wedding last year and I finally have a chance to write about our experience. We couldn’t be happier with our video and photos. We just got the pictures back for our May wedding right before we left yesterday for the holiday weekend. These people are so fast with delivery and the whole day was AMAZING! We really liked the way Ray worked with us from the initial meeting until receiving the photos. This company is very organized and thorough and we hardly knew the two photographers were there during the ceremony and reception. They were able to capture the joy of our wedding day! Now we have 1,000 awesome images to view this weekend.

Platinum Bride are one of the best values in wedding photography. Our engagement and wedding photos were simply stunning. They are professional, unobtrusive (like photography ninjas), and so easy-going! Our photographer was going to be out of town the only time we could do our engagement photos and Jessica got another associate (who was at a higher price point) and he immediately got our style and sense of humor. The day of the wedding, we only budgeted 45 minutes of photography time with our wedding party and bride and groom shots. Our lead photographer Ray, worked miracles with the time constraints and the changing light conditions! Our wedding photos were simply stunning and he got great action shots at the reception. They are super organized so there's never a fear of forgetting something important. They are not the cheapest option and we really had to budget to include them in our wedding vendor line up. However, I do believe it's worth the investment because you'll want to remember your special day forever with beautiful pictures.

I hired this company after being offered a discount at a bridal show- after getting to know them at our engagement shoot we figured out what poses and shots work for us (and which ones don't), and now I couldn't be happier with our wedding pictures! They were very open to suggestions, asked about what shots we might want, and were flexible about timelines and working with rainy weather. Great value for the price!

We absolutely had an amazing engagement pictures done by Ray!! So many to choose from and he even included our daughter in them as well. It meant to much to us! Can’t wait to see what our wedding pictures will turn out like! Would recommend highly to anyone looking!

Platinum Bride Weddings was by far the best decision we made when it came to wedding planning. Ray helped my sister and I create the most detailed schedule for the entire day from getting ready at the beauty salon, party bus limo pickup times, the guys knowing everywhere to be and what times, my out-of-town friends and relatives having the best time and many fun photos, and making sure every engaged and married couples had professionally taken photos during the reception. We have received endless compliments on our wedding pics-and the photography staff. I'd give 6 stars if I could!!!! Wedding pictures were most important to us, and we wanted skilled professionals, but also fun, creative, and not stuffy or bossy. Ray & Melissa did not disappoint!!! Amazing at what they do and so fun during our long summer day. They made us feel at ease and relaxed throughout the entire day. Ray let us be ourselves and she captured the joy of the day with candid shots. Our entire bridal party actually enjoyed having their pictures taken! My only regret is that I should've paid extra for day before photos of our rehearsal and family party at the hotel. Do not wait!! Hire this team for your wedding--you'll be thrilled you did.

We booked Ray for our wedding and engagement shoot. The wedding is still 11 months away, so this review is for the engagement photos. I am overall happy with the photos that Ray took. We had them done at Greenfield Village in Dearborn and Ray was more than willing to meet us there. My only caveat, and this is more on my fiancé and me, is that we were more focused on the locations rather than the poses, and Ray went along with it. So when we got our photos back, there were some poses that I wished we would have gotten, like more close ups and "tender moments" kind of stuff. Again, this is on my fiancé and not Ray. Ray did exactly what we wanted him to do; we had him going all around the village! We got the photos back a few days later and they were high quality and lovely. My suggestion to other brides in general would be to have a clear idea of what you want pose-wise too. Otherwise, nothing but love for Ray!! I am looking forward to have him capture our wedding!!!!! :)

Ray and Tom did an amazing job with the whole wedding day. My wedding was a beach mini destination wedding, 2 1/2 hours away. They both went above and beyond to make sure we got all the picture we wanted and helped make the day go smoothly. From the planning process with very reasonable prices to receiving the pictures and video after the wedding quickly. They did a very professional and awesome job. I would highly recommend these photographers.

i was so happy with platinum brides, could not have booked a better company. Ray made the entire day stress free for me. there was an incident with the limo but Ray made sure not to let it effect me or cause me more stress. i could not say enough good things about this company.

This company went above and beyond for an already stressful day! Ray and his team came in with an open mind and the most comforting voice. When I wanted to pull my hair out, Ray found an opportunity for a photo opp. I would recommend this company a million times and more to any and everyone that asks!!

It has been a remarkable experience this year. After we hired the platinum bride team we felt immediate relief as they began to assemble our entire day with a detailed timeline. We did pay for hotel stay because they fulfilled our wishes to arrive the day before to capture our rehearsal ceremony and dinner. Travel costs were very reasonable ( a deal breaker as we looked at many other studios). Our ceremony was on Mackinaw Island and reception party at hotel in Mackinac City. They were extremely organized and efficient, and we could not be happier with our photos. Ray and Cassie were a joy to work with. They created photos using my favorite Pinterest ideas and offered expert suggestions. He is a true professional. My mind was at ease on our wedding day because I knew they had our schedule under control. We had a large wedding party and managed to finish all of the shots we wanted ahead of schedule so I could enjoy my night. I did a lot of research before booking photography company, and felt that the packages offered at platinum bride were second to none. You definitely get what you pay for! They were a well-oiled machine! Also, every time a group of people were taking a photo on their phones at the wedding, one of the photographers would magically appear to capture the photo professionally and we ended up with a lot of great guest photos. You also receive access to online photo gallery for all of your guests so that they can see all of your photos. Besides all of those perks, Ray is clearly passionate about his work. They made my camera shy husband and I feel SO amazing on our wedding day and the pictures reflect that. We could not be happier with this team, and I know we will cherish these photos for many years to come.

Platinum Bride Weddings sent me an email in December about getting a wedding package for 50% off. We looked into it and decided to go ahead and sign a contract at that time. Two months before my wedding they contacted me asking me to pay almost $400 more for mileage and 2 hotel rooms that was never part of the contract. During the initial phone conversation they even told me they would not need a hotel. They refused to honor the initial signed contract and kept telling me that they were already giving me a deal by giving me 50% off and that I needed to compromise. It was a huge amount of unnecessary stress very close to the wedding. Finally after a lot of back and forth arguing I was able to get my money back since they broke the terms of the contract. Not worth the headache.

We used Platinum Bride Weddings for our engagement pictures. They were always on top of correspondence and making sure everything was ready to go on the date we had booked. We had booked in January for an April date the photographer Ray was great about making sure things were ready right up till the day before. We were pleasantly surprised to get photos earlier than we expected and they turned out great!! Thank you Ray for the wonderful job capturing the special moments. I used Platinum Bride for my wedding back in July this year (2016). Ray did a wonderful job with my whole entire day, starting from my parents' house all the way through the night. He was very affordable compared to everyone else we met with and his quality was just as good! He also offered such better hours then most, giving you options to add on hours for a fair price if needing even more time. I would highly recommend using Platinum Bride for your wedding to help alleviate some of the stress you will endure from everything else. I also provided him of a list of all the photos I wanted along with picture ideas from Pinterest which he recreated for me. It was awesome! My pictures are beautiful and exactly what I wanted without costing a fortune. Truly a great find!

Ray is amazing with so many ideas for our engagement pictures taken last Fall at a lovely park with all the radiant fall colors in the background. Working with these photographers has been an absolute joy and it was tremendous how all the angles and poses of us expressing our love in a natural rustic style.
