Platte River Fort

was perfect for our fall, rustic wedding! Their grounds are so beautiful and well maintained year-round. From the time we booked with them to the time of our wedding, they had made so many upgrades to their property that it felt like we were getting even more bang for our buck! Their wedding benches are wonderful and their in-barn-bar is convenient and beautiful! Their property is massive and diverse and is the perfect backdrop for a variety of wedding pictures. We got so many compliments from our guests saying how much they loved the venue! They enjoyed that it was so fun, laid back, and provided so many options for gathering. Their venue coordinator, Erin, was the most amazing part of the venue! Her openness, flexibility, experience, professionalism, and helpfulness were just a few of the reasons we felt so comfortable booking with The Fort! She is so responsive, supportive, and personable. She is a wonderful resource to brides, grooms, and families that feel out of their element when it comes to planning and preparing for a wedding. Couples looking to book with The Fort should know that they do have more insurance requirements than other venues we considered. Be aware of their specific requirements and ask for help with navigating that process if needed. It did add a bit of confusion and uncertainty for us at the beginning. Also do be aware of their alcohol policy. Most of the venues we toured during our venue search didn't allow shots which initially we found frustrating. We were relieved to find that The Fort was one of the few venues we had come across that did allow shots. After our wedding, we now see the value in establishing rules pertaining to hard liquor as there's just something about weddings bring out the crazy in people. Know your guests and have a plan in place so it's one less thing to worry about on your big day! Overall, we're very happy with the memories we made at The Fort! e moment we saw it. The fort has grown a lot since we signed our contract but only for the better! We signed our contract a little more than a year and a half before the wedding and along the way we ran into some hiccups and Dori, Erin and Jana were more than willing to help us create the best possible day and accommodate what we wanted. Jana was brought on shortly before our wedding but she jumped in and was right there for anything I needed and would answer my call every time and was more than willing to help us and answer questions and give input when we needed it. The staff the day of was extremely helpful and tried to keep this running as smoothly as possible which was really challenging with our families but they did a great job and were always on top of it. I can not say enough about how top notch this venue was and how appreciative I am of the staff.
