PNW Wedding Dance

Nikki was a spectacular teacher, choreographer, and friend as we got ready for our wedding. She helped us find the right song, worked through a number of changes to make it feel like something that actually represented us, and supported us the whole way. Our entire wedding party loved our first dance, and it's something I can't imagine having done without her support. Thank you, Nikki!

Nikki was a fantastic instructor. She was super easy to work with, choreographed a fantastic dance, and taught it to us very quickly. She was also very good about adjusting the dance when there were parts that we weren't able to get or that we didn't like. Because of her we nailed out first dance, and started our marriage off on the right foot!

Nikki was absolutely wonderful to work with. We were looking for someone to choreograph our first dance for us because we did not want to sway back in forth in front of our family and friends. We wanted to have a few good moves and feel more comfortable in front of everyone. Nikki absolutely nailed it. She was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to emails. We were pretty nervous for our first lesson and she put us at ease immediately. We wound up doing 4 total lessons with her because we had such a good time and enjoyed the process so much. I can't imagine if we hadn't worked with her. It was money well-spent as our first dance went so much better than it would have otherwise. I can't recommend working with Nikki enough. She can also help with other wedding dance needs if you need help in those areas!

I had the pleasure not only to learn a special first dance with my husband but also a fun father daughter dance with my dad. Both were incredibly meaningful for a variety of personal reasons. We were even able to keep the father daughter dance as a surprise for my husband. Both were the absolute best experience from beginning to end. Dad and groom had no prior dance experience and a bit hesitant going into it and ended up having so much fun and loved it! Nikki made them feel confident and like expert dancers. Not to mention we got so many compliments on how great the dances were and how fun they were to watch. Lots of cheering, clapping and all around smiles across the board!! If you’re thinking about whether to do wedding dance lessons with Nikki, DO IT! She is amazing. My fiancé and I had absolutely zero dance experience and by the last lesson we were doing dips, spins, and lifts we never thought possible! Not only was she an excellent instructor, she made the whole experience a blast and was so much fun to work with. The wedding dance experience ended up being one of our favorite parts of the wedding process and so many of our friends and family said it was their favorite part of our wedding. We can not thank her enough for for everything she did for us! She is truly awesome!

We had the best experience with Nikki and are so glad we worked with her for our first dance! It made our first dance such a memorable and fun moment in our wedding. The song I wanted our dance to be to wasn’t a typical first dance song, and Nikki came up with awesome choreography that was the right combo of achievable (for newbie dancers) and wow factor. She was super easy to schedule with (we did 4 total session), very dependable, patient & encouraging, and just the sweetest. We kept our lessons a secret from our wedding guests…Everyone was totally surprised and the cheers kept getting louder as the dance went on and the moves got bigger! I would highly recommend working with Nikki ahead of your big day!

My wife and I both have some basic dance background, so we knew we wanted a fun and choreographed first dance for our wedding. We wanted something more personal than a larger dance studio, and stumbled upon Nikki's site. We already knew what song we wanted and we were incredibly excited about the dance Nikki came up for it! We learned 2:30 minutes worth of choreo in 2 hours (broken into 2 sessions) and then decided to do 1 more session to refine the dances which had a couple lifts and dips in it. One thing we were extra happy with was her ability to choreograph a ballroom style dance for two women who are the same size. It was such a great dance! We had multiple guests at our wedding come up to us to tell us it was the best first dance they had seen. It was also one of our favorite moments of the wedding. THANKS NIKKI!

Nikki is amazing and we had the best experience working with her for our wedding dance! My wife and I have vastly different dancing skill levels (she has a formal dance background, and my most comfortable dance move was the ‘lazy 2-step’). Nikki is a great teacher who was able to match our respective skill levels. She instantly made us comfortable and we had so much fun practicing with her. She took the time to get to know us and choreographed a dance that matched our energy and vibe. The end result was an awesome dance that is one of our favorite memories of our wedding day (it was also a hit with our guests - my mom watched videos of our wedding dance every day for a month straight!). 10/10 experience, we can’t recommend Nikki enough!

Nikki was amazing to work with. Originally my wife and I had planned for a short first dance, as neither of us had any experience dancing. Nikki helped us select a style, and made the learning experience so fun we ended up extending our dance. She's great to work with, and really listens to your ideas and expectations for a dance. Would highly recommend working with her.

Nikki is amazing! She knew exactly what my husband and I wanted for our first dance at our wedding. We started out learning some ballroom dance steps at Arthur Murray and were told that it would take too much time to choreograph what we wanted (something with dramatic moves). We didn't know where to find someone like Nikki and I'm so grateful we came across her on a site like this. She is an amazing teacher- patient with inexperienced dancers, and full of humor, grace and warmth. Worth every penny.

Nikki exceeded our expectations. Neither Tami nor I had any formal dance experience, nor, even in our early 60's, had we much knowledge or experience in performing dance steps. We enlisted Nikki's help to choreograph and teach us how to dance for our wedding's first dance. Nikki did an amazing job. She choreographed the song we chose with some flashy and exciting moves. Our wedding dance was a HUGE hit. We couldn't be happier in how it turned out and how Nikki's positive attitude, dance knowledge, and teaching technique got us there.

Nikki is one of a kind. She choreographed a fantastic first dance for us and created a very supportive and approachable learning environment for us. We have not really danced before, but after learning with her, we feel confident with our dance moves now. :) Learning from Nikki was one of our favorite parts of getting ready for the big day. Nikki is an incredible teacher and choreographer! She will create a custom dance based on your personality/vision and when teaching, she breaks down the dance moves so they are easy to learn. I hired her for my birthday party and a friend hired her two years later; both experiences were super fun and enjoyed by everyone. Nikki is warm and encouraging; don’t hesitate to hire her for your flash mob. She’s the best!

Let's see what can I say about PDX Flash Mob, but outstanding, amazing, awesome...you name it they (she) are. Nikki out did herself, in spite of somethings that I did not want to do (like lifts) she added that in our dance anyway and let me tell you it blew everyone away. Our family and friends were totally shocked since no one had any idea what we were going to do, no boring slow dancing from us. Thank you Nikki for testing our limits and making us do some things that we most definitely would have not even tried, because that made our dance even more amazing. I still can't stop watching our video and it's going on two weeks post wedding day.

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Nikki for two incredibly meaningful events, our proposal and our wedding dance. My husband found Nikki to choreograph a small flash mob for his proposal, and she created a beautiful dance in one of our favorite spots in Portland to one of my favorite songs. Once we began planning the wedding, we had no question about who to reach out to for our first dance choreography. We had a Pakistani/American fusion wedding and asked for a slow American song followed by a fast Bollywood song. Nikki delivered! My father in law said it was the best part of the wedding. Nikki is kind, attentive, and knows how to please a crowd. We give her our highest recommendation for meaningful moments like ours. You won't be disappointed!

Nikki taught line dancing at our wedding and it was incredible and a huge hit! We wanted to do something to get people up and moving and she did exactly that. They were fun, engaging, and picked perfect songs to teach dances too. We are so grateful they were part of our special day and had such a blast!

Nikki is great! One of the best decisions we made to "splurg" on our wedding was getting our first dance choreographed. Not only did it mean we had a nice dance prepared but practicing gave us a fun and meaningful activity to do together during the otherwise stressful time of wedding planning. Nikki put a lot of effort into making our dance look really nice while keeping it manageable for two people who had never really danced before. She was also always open to any ideas we had and helped us incorporate those. It was such a fun experience (my husband ended up actually enjoying it even more that me despite the "eye roll" I got when I first mentioned wanting to go to dance practices LOL) and I highly recommend Nikki! We did both the virtual lessons and in-person lessons so I can attest that you can learn either way. We are both so thankful and happy with our decision: 5 Stars!

This was hands down the best part of our wedding (and our wedding was awesome). Not only did we get to put on a show for our guests but we also got to enjoy all the time practicing leading up to the big day. Nikki helped pick the perfect songs and moves for me for a dance with my dad and a dance with my groom. I cannot say enough about how talented she is. And what’s even more impressive is we did 80+% of it all via zoom! (Thank you Covid). In the months of uncertainty d/t the pandemic leading up to our wedding, having these dances to practice and make us laugh and bring us together was so so so positive. And now they are memories we’ll have forever. My dad said to me after our performance that he loved learning the dance but what he really loved was getting to know me better. This is all thanks to Nikki at Pdx Flash Mob. She nailed it for both my father-daughter dance and couple first dance. She made them fun and just the right amount of challenge. Working with Nikki was such a fantastic experience! She took my husband and myself-- two people with ZERO dance background-- and patiently and enthusiastically taught us our PERFECT first dance! She was flexible when we weren't feeling confident about certain moves and was encouraging when she felt we could handle something we weren't so sure about. The outcome was a show stopper. She also at one of our lessons was happy to teach my dad and I a few simple moves so that our Father Daughter dance had a polished quality to it as well. She truly is a wonderful person and has contagious energy that will make you look forward to dance lessons! Thank you, Nikki!

My mom found Nikki less than a month before my wedding, inspired to get dance lessons for my dad and I for the father-daughter dance. We had been planning to just do the stand-and-sway, but Nikki transformed it into something really special for us by teaching us a basic elegant waltz step, and a few turns and tricks to take it to the next level. I had so much fun that I scheduled a lesson for my now husband and I for later that week! Each pair did 3-4 lessons in those last few weeks before the wedding. Our only regret is that we didn’t start sooner! Nikki transformed our first dances from something that would be special to us into something that was memorable and special for all of our guests. We felt totally confident on the dance floor, and best of all, we all have a newfound enjoyment of dance, and the tools to make it a part of our future. Each lesson was a blast, and Nikki’s supportive energy made us feel confident that we would pull it off — and we did!
