Karen and her crew are the best in the business! Karen did the catering for our wedding at Nestldown. She was so kind to welcome us into her home for our tasting and her food is excellent. We were so pleased with the service, professionalism, and overall experience we had working with PIM. Highly recommend Karen and her team for your next event! She will make it HAPPEN!

Karen Major and her team are such a treat to work with! The whole process was fun and exciting, and on the day we got so many compliments on the food. Many of our family members remarked on how delicious the food was and how it was the BEST wedding food they had ever had. We may be biased, but we whole heartedly agree with that sentiment! You will not find a more fun or lovely team of caterers - their food is a love language in itself!

Karen is a joy to work with because she truly loves her job!! Karen and her team were so easy to work with and the food was amazing. She even surprised us with cookies on our wedding day! The whole staff was organized and kind and made the day run so smoothly. I can't recommend Poetry In Motion enough!!

Our taco bar was pretty good. However infelt bad for my mother that they kept coming up to her every 5 mins to tell her every little thing that was not right, even if it was minor. I think that’s what my coordinator is for.

Poetry in Motion catered our wedding on April 18, 2019. We got married at Nestldown in Los Gatos, CA. The food was absolutely delicious and the staff was great!! Karen made sure to prepare a menu that reflected us as a couple. She did not disappoint! I was in contact with Karen and Andrea throughout the planning process. On our wedding day, they also made sure to hunt us down to make sure we sat down to eat before our food got cold!! Everyone always tells you the day goes by so fast as the bride and groom.. and it really does!! I probably wouldn’t have had a chance if I was not reminded. They are extremely friendly and I loved working with them. I highly recommend Poetry in Motion to cater your event! Thank you all soooo much!!!

I am not even sure how to write a review that will do Poetry in Motion: Karen, Andrea and their whole team and the hard work and amazing catering, justice. My family owns Nestldown and for us to be able to sit back, relax and not side eye whether or not a vendor was doing things the right way or respecting the rules and our home, we knew that Poetry was the only caterer that would allow us to do that; we were right!! From the first meeting, talking about the extensive plans, set up, guest count and expectations... Karen and Andrea took them and succeeded in strides. They never once made me question my decision or feel worried about anything having to do with set-up or the way the day would run! They spent months planning and working with Danny Thomas rental company to get our perfect dining set up, staffed a skilled and excited team and were constantly checking and double checking to make sure everything was right - all while making us feel like family! When the day came, they had their team perfectly carry out our vision for the day. From the table set up and tabletop display, seating cards, passed and stationed appetizers, passed beverages post ceremony, dinner, and desserts - they were AMAZING!!! When I look back, there was't a single thing I could change - except that as a couple, you don't usually eat that much (since you're always on the go) so take advantage of your tastings!! However, Andrea, who is the front of house made sure we had food and ate first!! She got our dinner from the buffet for us so we could then go socialize!!! Dinner: The food was spectacular. There were no complaints, only compliments and awe. We had a few friend who had severe food allergies and Karen came up with the perfect (probably the best Ravioli that we have ever had) dish to suit their needs: Mushroom stuffed Gluten and Dairy free Ravioli in a Truffle sauce. It was to die for - my husband and I love meat but we wanted that more!!!! They did our whole dessert bar, which despite the don't eat before cake cutting, was devoured because people thought it was so delicious. It was the absolute best day of our lives and for my parents. The fact that we were able to enjoy and not have to worry about a thing made the day that much more relaxed and special!!! All Nestldown couples know my recommendation but for others looking for a caterer, no need to look any further! I would give them 30 out of 5 stars if I could (as cheesy as that sounds!!) Poetry in Motion catered our wedding at Nestldown and they were OUTSTANDING! Karen and her team did an incredible job and we couldn't be happier. Her catering service includes food, furniture rentals, beverages, and all food services such as bartending, plating, and setting up/breakdowning of equipment. Throughout the entire planning process, she was very thoughtful of our needs and mindful of our budget. The demographics of our wedding guests were mostly Asians and she designed a menu specifically for them - honey glazed soy sea bass and short ribs with a dark sesame over accompaniments. For appetizers, there were bacon wrapped scallops, Thai basil chicken, egg rolls with a cheese and cracker station! When we went to her tasting, she gifted us with a wine bottle with our names and wedding day on the gift bag. It was an unexpected surprise and very sweet of Karen to go the extra mile! The tasting was very relaxed and she answered all of our questions about her catering process and menu. Fast forward, a couple of months, we went with her to select our dinner settings such as glassware, linen, dinner plates, and silverware. During that process, we talked about the details of how things will be set up and the display of dinner settings. We didn't realize how many things we needed to consider but with Karen's guidance and expertise, it was a simple and painless process. On the day of our wedding, Karen and her team beautifully executed our vision! My husband had the opportunity to witness how her team put together our reception floor layout. It was pretty incredible to see months and months of planning come alive from the cocktail hour layout to the reception. We were very impressed with her team professionalism and diligence with serving our guests. We can't recommend Karen and her team enough - professional, friendly, easy going, and very accommodating! Karen, Andrea, and their fantastic team were amazing. My husband and I could not have been happier with our whole experience and our actual wedding day. Karen for one is an extremely good chef. She led us through a very casual but delectable tasting about 6 months before our wedding where we finalized our menu. Since my husband and I are total foodies we wanted to incorporate a few of our favorites, but also let Karen show off her skills. We gave her a list of our favorite foods, and links to a few of our most frequent restaurants and she crafted a menu from there. We ended up with: Appetizers: Crab stuffed Mushrooms, asparagus puffs, and a charcuterie and cheese station. Main (we did buffet style but know Karen easily does any menu style): BBQ Chicken Tikka (thighs, and so moist and juicy!!), Tri-tip with a mushroom sauce, rice pilaf, haricot verts, and a spring salad. Dessert Bar: chocolate chip cookies, brownies, long stemmed strawberries, & fruit hand pies. (I think this was all...I didn't get a chance to eat most of them) Everything was devoured! We also thought all the food was even better on our wedding day than when we did our tasting. It was easily the best sit down meal we've had over the years at weddings. They also made the entire process a breeze. Karen knew what was fresh, and was ready to substitute if she didn't like what was at market, and Andrea was on point with making sure all our table and flatware was beautiful. They both made us feel relaxed the entire week before our wedding, even offering to handle last minute items that popped up. Andrea was also a constant presence throughout the wedding day checking in with both me and my husband to ensure we were happy. We knew we were in good hands from the start, but felt like everything exceeded our expectations. It was a fabulous wedding day at Nestldown.

There are not enough words to express the magnificence that is Poetry in Motion Catering. Karen was there for us every step of the way; from sharing best practices, to supporting me in my crazy ideas, to stepping up to assist other vendors on the day-of, she and her team are the epitome of "dream team." Our wedding day was perfect for many reasons, but I give full credit to Poetry in Motion for the happy scream I released when we walked in to dinner. To see our vision executed to such perfection was the icing on the cake on the best day of our lives. I am eternally grateful to their meticulous planning, beautiful vision and willingness to go above and beyond for their clients.

Poetry in Motion is amazing! Karen runs the team and does an amazing job. Her entire team was so great on the day of our wedding. They made sure everything ran smoothly. Not to mention--the food was fabulous! Everything was delicious! Karen is so easy to work with and very supportive. We are so glad that we chose to have Poetry in Motion cater our wedding.

A huge thank you to Karen Major and her entire team at Poetry in Motion for the amazing job they did at my son’s Nestldown wedding. As the mother of the groom and wedding planner, Karen’s organization, professionalism and expertise shone brightly in everything she did. From the beginning, Karen listened to all the dreams the bride had in her head and made every one of them become a reality from the food, to the décor and table decorations. When our dessert plans of s’mores were cancelled by the venue just a few days before the wedding due to high fire dangers in the mountains, Karen notified me and had several options available to us to choose from. She even made two individual s’mores in the kitchen for the bride and groom to have for their s’more ceremony (since there was no cake). When the temperatures spiked the week of the wedding, Karen suggested changing the reception set-up to allow more shade for the guests and added umbrellas. Karen and Team are truly amazing! They worked hard and shouldered all the stress of the day so our family could enjoy every moment of our son’s wedding from beginning to end! Karen goes above and beyond what I would have expected from a caterer and I would highly recommend her and the entire team at Poetry in Motion if you want the best of the best!

We found Poetry in Motion through Nestldown's list of recommended vendors. My now husband is vegan and I (along with all my family) am vegetarian, but we also had a flock of meat-loving Irishmen coming over for the wedding. Our needs were very specific, but Karen created a mostly vegan, totally vegetarian menu of healthy comfort foods that pleased the palettes of the strict, veggie-loving Californians and those accustomed to more carnivorous diets. She and her helpers were equally helpful on the day, even running back through to spruce up the centerpieces when I, on my way to walk down the aisle, noticed they had been a little smooshed in transport.

From the required vendor list I was given from my venue, I chose to have Poetry in Motion cater my wedding on 7/19/15. Best choice I could have made! It is very evident that Karen is passionate about her work and service to her customers! Having much experience under her belt with events at my venue, she was very knowledgeable about my options were within my preferred budget. She went above and beyond for my wedding. She helped me with picking out linens and all place settings for my tables. She also provided helpful tips and options for food service and beverages. If there was any question or confusion about something, she was professional and cordial in clarifying. It is apparent that her creative desire is to see the personalities of the bride and groom come alive in the food she provides. The food tasting was also an intimate and enjoyable experience! The appetizers were outstanding! And the food at dinner tasted close to perfection. Karen even made sure the bride and groom had their own special meal! My only "complaint" is that some of the chicken served at the buffet was cold - according to some of my guests. My wedding was outdoors, and I had 170 guests. Other than that, her staff was very polite and hard-working. Overall, I had a great experience working with Poetry in Motion and would refer Karen's business to any bride!
